Chapter 10:

Dean lay where they threw him. The cage locking behind them as they left him bleeding on the ground. Everything hurt. Breathing hurt. All he wanted to do was sleep, but the unnatural silent from the werewolves cages surrounding him force Dean to push fatigue aside and look around him. All the wolves were watching him. Some had a look of fear in their eyes, while others had hatred. Guards paroled the aisles between the cages now instead of just one or two standing guard at the doors. They had also swapped their cattle prods for rifles. However, it wasn't until Dean's eyes fell on Kit's cage did what he see shock him out of his stupor.

Instead of a slender smoke gray wolf there was a skinny naked blonde young man sitting there. As Dean's eyes fell on him Kit gave him and little half-smile. Though it wasn't Kit's usual cheeky grin it was enough to give Dean hope that the Kit he once knew wasn't traumatized beyond existence. Kit had definitely changed physically. He had always been skinny, but he was now starting to look no more than bones. His hair was lifeless and caked in what Dean could only guess was dried blood. Kit did not have a patch of skin that wasn't covered in filth. A new scar snaked it way down the side of his face and he had a fresh black eye, which had swollen shut.

Dragging him towards the bars separating him from Kit, Dean asked, "Kit, what happened? Are you okay?"

"Revolution," Kit answered still smiling, but the smile quickly fell. "Well not really. I couldn't let you die. Some guards were complaining that they were going to miss the Wendigo rip you apart." Kit look away from Dean at those words. He instead focus at his lap and began breathing deeply.

"But it didn't rip me apart Kit. I burnt that son of a bitch to a crisp. Okay?" Dean hated seeing Kit like this, he was definitely not okay.

Nodding Kit continued explaining, "Well as the guards were walking past my cage and I rushed them. I changed back into human form mid-flight towards the bars. Don't think they knew werewolf could change so quickly. I reckon I gave you a run for your money Dean." The smile was back on Kit's face and Dean felt the fist clenching his heart release. "I managed to reach through and grab one of the bastards. I didn't really have a plan once I had one of them, however me just grabbing one of the guards caused a bit of a riot. They broke it up pretty fast though, and the guards have been threatening us with the rifles ever since."

Dean watched the guards patrol the cages. From the glances Kit and him were getting, Dean was almost certain they that Kit and him knew each other. However, what this meant for their fate here, Dean did not know.

"WAKE UP YOU DOGS!" The harsh yell shocked Dean awake. His whole body ached. Even though it felt like he had been run over by and truck only to have it reverse back over him a few time, Dean forced himself into a sitting position. He couldn't help, but glance over at Kit to ensure he was still there. Kit was sitting in his cage wrapped in a blanket and still in his human form. He was staring out of his cage at the two men walking through the aisles of cages. It was scar face and his werewolf lackey.

"I have to say you bunch of dogs have made me very angry. First, one of you continues to not die when you are meant too." Scar face said this staring directly at Dean. "Secondly, the rest of you decide to have yourself a riot. You dogs are causing me more problems than you should, so I have thought of away to solve my problems."

Dean felt the dread building inside him, whatever scar face had planned it was not going to be good.

"As I am sure you all realise, because of that internal clock of yours, the full moon is fast approaching." Dean felt his throat tighten at scar face mentioning of the full moon. It was something he knew was drawing closer; he could feel it in his bones. In a little over a day time the moon would rise and Dean would be force to transform and the silver collar around his neck would cause it to snap. As soon that moon crested the horizon Dean would be dead.

"Well we are going to have ourselves a battle royale. There will be only one survivor and this little problem will be solved." Scar face turned to leave, but paused as he walked to the door. "Oh and if any of you dogs try anything funny or even look at a guard the wrong way, we will shoot you dead."

Silent echo through the room as the man left. Dean couldn't help, but glance at Kit who had gone very pale. When his eyes meet Deans they flashed down to the collar around Dean's neck before meeting his eyes again. Dean could see it in Kit's eyes; he believed they wouldn't survivor this. The only hope Dean had was that his Dad had been in the crowd. Otherwise Dean could not see how he would survive this.
