Amy Pond sighed and rolled over as T.A.R.D.I.S.-generated sunlight pierced through her bedroom window and into her dreams. She fluttered her lashes sleepily for a moment before sighing deeply and prepared to go back to sleep.

Suddenly, her eyes shot open. Had... Could it have worked? Was it possible...?

Amy sat up sharply, her forehead colliding with the headboard - "ouch!" - and clambered around the desk. Where was the clock... Did she even keep a clock in here? What was the date? She needed to see the date!

A voice roared through the hallway and jolted her.

"Amelia Pond!" It boomed. "Wake up, get ready, go through your good ol' human-y wuman-y morning routine..."

Amy froze.

"No," she breathed.

"...because we! Are! Going! To! The Alignment of the Seven Planets of Daloxia!" The voice grew louder.

"No, no, no," Amy dead panned again. "That's... That's not... It..." But it had to have worked. How could it not work?!

The Doctor's head appeared in the doorway.

"No, I'm totally kidding," he said, flinging his arms out and splaying his fingers in a showman's pose. "The plan worked!"

Amy stared at him for an uncomfortably long time. He twitched. Her fiery hair began to sizzle.

"Happy Sunday?" He added, looking vaguely scared.

Smoke poured out of Amy's ears as she hopped out of bed and marched towards the Doctor as he backed away into the hallway.

"Actually, n-now that I think about it," the flustered Timelord stuttered, "you should really get some more sleep. Did you know that humans actually need twelve hours of sleep per day to function correctly? That's a completely true fact that I did not at all just make up just n-"

He was cut off as Amy yanked him into a hug.

"Oh, alright." The Doctor patted her on the back awkwardly, then genuinely. "This is good."

Then he paused as he noticed something behind her.

"Though that's... Maybe... Not," he muttered weakly.

"What?" Amy turned around.

"Hello," said the Doctor. His face was white as a sheet.

"Hi," said Bad Wolf. She smiled warmly.

"Um, I'm holding the understanding that you saved my life. So. Thank you." He spoke apprehensively.

"Nah," the woman laughed, her golden eyes shining. "All credit here goes to Amy. Good work, mate."

"Couldn't have done it without you," Amy replied. Then she turned to the Doctor. "But, yeah, you can thank me."

He grinned and pulled her into his arms. "Thanks, Pond. I could kiss you in Rory's absence."

"Whose?"

"Right." He blinked and paused for a moment before nodding, giving Amy an extra squeeze of sympathy despite her incomprehension.

"Okay, then. Someone's a bit friendly this morning."

"Well, I did just not die for the first time in quite awhile, thanks to you, Pond."

She laughed and squeezed him back.

"Now then. Let's say one last goodbye to Ros- Bad Wolf - before she goes." He let go and turned around, ready now to face the woman who so closely resembled his lost love.

He took in the empty hall. She was already gone.

"To not dying," said the Doctor.

"To not reliving the same day over and over again while watching this doofus die," said Amy.

"To red hair," said Captain Jack Harkness, leaning in towards Amy.

"Jack..." Growled the Doctor.

"Looks like you haven't changed, Doc," Jack rolled his eyes. "And I was just making a friendly toast. She's not interested, anyway."

Amy raised an eyebrow flirtily, cocking her head to the side. "Who said I wasn't interested? I'll speak for myself, thank you."

Jack shrugged. "I can tell. You're waiting for someone."

Amy's brow fell and she glanced at the Doctor, unsure.

"No, not him." The Captain smiled. "Don't worry. You'll find your guy soon."

Amy laughed strangely and the Doctor grabbed her glass before clinking it against his own.

"To everything in the universe that's not out to kill me," he said.

"Everything in the universe," agreed the other two before they each took respective swigs of their Space Soda (and Space Soda with a dash of vodka, for Jack).

"Oh, remind me before you leave," said Jack, "There's a movie you guys have got to see."

"Oh yeah?" Asked Amy.

"Yeah," he said. "It's called Groundhog Day."
