Chapter 10

Hinata woke the next morning smiling with the sun greeting her and pouring through her window.

"You know you talk in your sleep." All the peace and tranquillity Hinata had felt only a second ago vanished at the sound of her little sisters voice.

"What are you doing in here?" She squealed.

"Do you always dream of Naruto?"

"Get out!" She shouted throwing a pillow at Hanabi. Hanabi ran out of her room, laughing as she went. Hinata threw a pillow over her flustered face and cursed little sisters. Quickly showering and dressing she looked at her charging phone, on her bedside table, to see a message from Kiba.

Morning Princess, get your royal lazy butt out of bed and let's train! You me and Shino at the usual place! See you in an hour! Bring lunch :P

Hinata smiled and sent her response, telling him she'd be there. Making lunch as Kiba had requested, she sealed the food in a box for each of them. She had made too much as usual, so she placed the rest in another box and decided to take that with her too. Training sessions always made Shino and Kiba hungry so no doubt they'd need it.

Walking to their usual training ground carrying the bag of food, water and usual supplies, Hinata waved when she saw her two team mates already training. She placed the bag to one side and began to stretch whilst observing Kiba and Shino sparring. After warming up, Hinata decided to practice throwing her kunai at a target. Fusing her chakra with the kunai she threw the kunai at the nearest tree. With a thread of chakra attached, almost like a puppet string, Hinata was able to pull the kunai out of the tree and catch it. Hinata had been working on this technique for a considerable amount of time, to the point where now she was working on throwing several kunai at once. She wanted to be able to guide as many kunai as she could around herself so she was defending herself and attacking in one move, almost like her sphere when on the water.

Once team 8 had finished their training they sat under the shade of a tree and ate the lunch Hinata had brought.

"So...You and Naruto?" Kiba enquired.

"Me and Naruto what?" Hinata questioned.

"You know..."

"What Kiba is trying to say." Shino interjected, seeing Kiba struggling. "We have heard a rumour." Hinata stopped eating seeing her two team mates looking at her uncomfortably.

"What's the rumour?" She asked hesitantly.

"You were seen leaving Naruto's yesterday wearing the same clothes you wore at the memorial and well people are saying... they're saying."

"They're saying you made little Naruto and Hinata babies." Kiba quickly interrupted.

"W-W-We d-d-d..." Hinata's face was as hot as a furnace. She sat there flabbergasted until her brain couldn't take the images of all the fantasies that flooded her mind, and she fell back staring at the clouds.

"Hinata?" Kiba threw his lunch and shifted in his position to go check on Hinata, until Shino quickly grabbed his arm and nodded in the direction of a yellow haired and ecstatic looking Naruto.

"Shit!" Kiba exclaimed, seeing Hinata still lay on the floor looking at the sky. "Quick, lie with her, she'll be even more embarrassed if he thought she'd fainted." Kiba and Shino quickly lay on either side of Hinata looking up at the clouds too.

"Hey guys" Naruto excitedly yelled finally catching up with them. "What ya doing?" He asked taking note of their abandoned lunch.

"B-b-babies." Hinata whispered, although not escaping the hearing of all three boys.

"Babies?" Naruto asked.

"Oh, oh yes I see it Hinata." Kiba exclaimed, pointing to any random cloud in the sky. Naruto looked up and couldn't see and cloud shaped babies in the sky, what were they on about?

"What brings you here?" Shino quickly asked, seeing Naruto looking sceptical.

"We've been called on a mission. The four of us." He smiled. "Hokage Kakashi wants to see us in his office." Naurto looked at Hinata and saw her blushed cheeks and realised she hadn't even said one word to him. Naruto suddenly thought had he upset her last night in some way? Maybe she was embarrassed because he didn't know how to fine dine?

"Hinata?" He asked awkwardly. He could tell by now something was definitely wrong she didn't even turned her head when he said her name. Naruto quickly straddled her and placed a hand on her fore head, she felt warm he noted, maybe she was getting sick? A fever maybe? Hovering his ear above her mouth he heard her shallow breaths, Naruto frowned. Why hadn't Kiba and Shino noticed there was something wrong with their team mate, a team mate they made perfectly clear to him was like a sister. Naruto cradled her in his arms and picked her up off the grass.

"Hey, where you going? What you doing with Hinata?" Kiba followed Naruto now carrying the limp Hinata in his arms.

"To the hospital." Naruto said looking down at Hinata, worry etched on his face.

Hinata was lost in the images of a future, a future she couldn't help but wish would come true. A future of being Naruto's wife, having a family. The images showed were of herself telling Naruto they were expecting their first child. Jumping to watching Naruto's face light up feeling the baby's first kick. The agony of child birth, but with Naruto holding her hand and comforting her through it all making it worth while. Seeing Naruto hold a baby wrapped in a bundle of blankets for the first time, with the tears of happiness rolled down his face. The images went on and on. Then, suddenly, like a slap in the face, Hinata felt the wind flying through her hair and hitting her cheeks. Like a bucket of ice cold water Hinata was awoken from her fantasies. She felt herself being carried, Opening her eyes she saw none other than Naruto.

"Naruto!" She squealed, wrapping her arms around his neck tightly when she saw how high they were.

"Hinata!" Naruto looked down to see Hinata was finally responding. He stopped on the nearest roof top and took in her features. "Are you ok? Are you injured?" Hinata shook her head after each question and moved herself out of Naruto's arms to stand opposite him.

"I am fine, thank you Naruto-Kun. I-I must have over exerted myself training this morning." Hinata looked to the roof tiles in shame. Having to lie to Naruto made her feel guilty, but telling him the truth was too mortifying.

"Are you sure? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?"

"N-No I'm ok." Naruto grabbed her right hand and brought her nearer him. Placing his other hand on her forehead to check her fever. Hinata stood rigid, looking into his face trying to read his emotions. She felt Naruto move his hand from her forehead to her cheek, they looked each other in the eyes.

"Promise me to be careful, I don't know what me and Kurama would do if you got hurt."

"Kurama?" Hinata's eyes widened at the name of the fox sealed in Naruto.

"Yeah." Naruto, ran a hand through the back of his hair. "He er, he likes you." Hinata gave a small smile and nodded her head.

"Hey!" Naruto and Hinata looked behind them to see Kiba and Shino leaping over to the roof they now stood on. Kiba leant his hands on his knees panting with Akamaru by his side, while Shino stood beside him.

"Your...fast." Kiba said taking deep breaths.

"Let's go find out what our mission is." Shino suggested.

Early that Morning...

Kakashi sat at the Hokage desk, sorting through the never ending paperwork that he could never seem to get away from. Grumbling under his breath the whole time.

"Hokage!" Kakashi startled at first at the sudden burst through the door and upon seeing Sakura, Ino, Tenten and Sasuke smiled.

"By the looks of you four I sense you're up to something. What am I going to regret this time?"

"WHAT? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WE'RE UP TO SOMETHING?" Sakura shouted.

"Er what Sakura is trying to say." Ino said whilst pushing Sakura aside and giving her a death glare. "What we want is to help our friends."

"And this involves me how?"

"Well, we want you to send Naruto and Hinata on a mission together." Kakashi took in the excited faces of the 3 girls and looked at Sasuke leaning against the wall.

"I can't send a two man team on a mission just for them to fall in love." Kakashi stated.

"Well how about team 8 and Naruto?" Tenten interjected.

"So you want me to pay 4 Shinobi's just so two of them will fall in love?" Sakura and Tenten groaned in frustration.

"Come on Hokage, we'll do anything!" Ino whined. Kakashi smiled under his mask, this is what he had wanted all along.

"Ok. I want you three to do my paperwork for...lets say, 3 months."

"WHAT?!" Saukra shouted.

"We'll do it!" Ino and Tenten pushed her into Sasuke's arms.

"Then it just so happens I have a mission for team 8 and Naruto."

Present Time

"These are your mission scrolls." Kakashi handed the members of team 8 and Naruto one each.

"There is a gang of rogue shinobi's near the village of Tanigakure, in the Land of Rivers. You mission is to defeat them. Hinata you are in charge, I feel you're the only one I can trust to keep their heads fixed on. You leave tomorrow morning. Any questions?"

"Er, Hokage? Why don't I just go on my own?" Naruto asked looking at Hinata, still worrying about her.

"Naruto, you may be a great shinobi but you are not a tracker. Team 8 are the best trackers in Konoha. Do I make myself clear."

Naruto blushed and bowed.

"Yes Hokage- Sama."

"Good. Go, your dismissed."
