Ten- First Kiss

"I am really sorry we couldn't be there this year, Panny..." Gohan's soft voice came through the phone. "We really wanted to be."

"It's okay, Papa, I understand," Pan told him truthfully. Rinji has came down with a slight fever and now Videl was starting to show the beginning symptoms of it. It was best that they stay inside, away from the chilly weather and nurse themselves back to health. "Take good care of them and I will call tomorrow."

Gohan let out a small, thankful sigh. "Thank you, Panny. I will. I love you, sweetheart."

"I love you too, Papa!"

Pan frowned down at her phone as the call ended. It was New Year's Eve and so far the holiday had been completely different than last years... Last year her family was there with her... Honestly, it had been a little crowded. Her grandparents slept in the guest room, her parents and Rin in her room and her and Goten had to share the pullout couch in the living room but it was so worth it. And then when Trunks and Bulla came over and stayed until after New Years, Pan and Bulla shared the couch and the boys slept on the floor. Still, it was some of the best memories Pan had.

This year however... It was just here in the lonely condo. Her parents were home with a sick Rin, her grandparents were on come getaway cruise, which they totally deserved. Goten was spending the new year with Marron and the Briefs had a Capsule Corp party... Her Gramps had went to a New Years party with some of his friends and he had invited Pan but... Everyone who would be there would be older and she knew she would be more bored than anything else.

With a sigh, Pan pulled her texts on her phone, and Gale's contact and previous texts popped up. Gale and Jin were going to some New Years party and they both wanted Pan to go with them.. Only problem was that the party was at Koun and Brai's.

Pan let out another sigh and began her text.

Pan: Okay, looks like I am going.

Gale: Yes! I am so excited!

Pan just hoped that the party would be okay...

The music was loud and obnoxious. It hurt Pan's sensitive ears, making them ring. The place which would normally be considered roomy was too crowded and cramped full of hormonal teenagers too busy drinking things they shouldn't be.

Pan sighed as she pushed herself through the wave of people grinding on each other. She had been at this party for about an hour but she was already done with it. Gale and Jin had sneaked off some time ago, and Pan figures they probably went somewhere to make out.

Out of the corner of her eyes Pan caught a group of guys lining up a substance on a table and quickly she turned around, her heart pounding. If they had that kind of drug at this party then there was no telling what else they had, and Pan wanted no part of it. She wasn't looking where she was going so she was rather surprised when she ran into a hard surface.

"Oof," she rubbed her head slightly as she glanced up and she was a little more than surprised to see Yuri looking down at her.

"Hey," he chuckled at her expression. "I didn't know you'd be here."

"Yeah," Pan mumbled. "It was kind of a last minute decision," she said.

"I see," he gave her a slight nod.

Honestly Pan wasn't sure what to do or say. Her and Yuri has talked here and there over the past year but they weren't friends again by no means.

"Hey, just a tip," Yuri began, lowing his face so it was closer to Pan and he didn't have to yell. "Stay away from the punch. I saw Koun and his friends messing with it earlier."

Pan gave a nod of understanding. After what she had just witnessed a few minutes ago she wasn't surprised that the punch was most likely spiked.

"So, how have you been?" Yuri raised a dark eyebrow towards her. "I've been seeing your Grandpa on the news a lot here lately. His dojos are really taking off, huh?"

"Yeah," Pan felt herself smiling proudly. Her Gramps had worked over the last five years and almost four dojos later, they were a huge success in Ember. Pan helped out in some of them from time to time.

"He's been working really hard on them," she told Yuri. "I'm glad they are such big hits."

"Of course they are, they are funded by none other than Hercule Satan!" Yuri chuckled. His watch beeped and he glanced at it in confusion before letting out a soft sigh. "I got to be going to work soon."

"This late? And on a holiday?" Pan blinked in surprise.

"Yeah," Yuri gave a small, bashful nod. "I work overnights at the warehouse downtown. It's New Years so we'll have a big shipment coming."

"Ah, I see," Pan nodded.

"Well, it was nice talking to you, Pan," Yuri smiled so softly and Pan was almost reminded of the time years ago when they were friends. "Stay safe..."

"I will," Pan said, watching as he weaved his way through the crowd towards the door.

Yuri seemed... Different. Like he was more relaxed and at ease. Pan hoped he was... He was nice to talk to when he was like that. Maybe... they could even be friends again...

She was so deep in thought that she didn't realize anyone had marched up to her until something cold hit her shirt. She gasped, glancing down at the wet stain before glaring up at Brai, who was snarling at her.

"You little bitch," Brai hissed.

"What the hell!" Pan exclaimed, beyond confused and more mad than anything. Just who did Brai think she was, throwing her drink on her like that?!

"I saw you flirting with Yuri!" Brai was seething.

It took Pan a few seconds to let the information click. The last she heard from Gale was that apparently Yuri and Brai were a thing... She didn't know why or how since they were far from compatible but it wasn't any of Pan's business.

"I was not flirting with Yuri, we were just talking," Pan hissed back, not liking being accused of something she didn't do.

"Awh, what? Rich pretty boy wasn't enough for you?" Brai mocked.

Pan's eyes widened, her insides starting to ignite. Brai didn't have to say a name for Pan to know exactly who was talking about.

"Don't say another word..." Pan warned.

Brai let out a loud snort, her hand on her hip and she sneered at Pan. "It's probably for the best, because honestly it should be the other way around. Why would the heir of Capsule Corp waste his time on some pathetic trash like you?" She jeered, "when he can have someone of his own class instead?" Brai smirk turned wicked, "don't worry... I'll take care of that spoiled little brat before I blow all the precious money he inherited!"

She started laughing then. It was loud and obnoxious and Pan was already seeing red. People could talk bad about all they wanted but when it came to her family, friends and especially Trunks, she got livid! How dare Brai talk as if she knew Trunks like that! Trunks' money was not inherited, he had earned all of his own and he worked hard for it too- he was not spoiled!

Before Pan could much less think about it she balled up her fists. And before Brai could even see it coming, Pan's fists connected to her nose. There was a loud crack through the air and a lot of people nearby who were listening in on the exchange gasped.

"You bitch!" Brai cried, clutching her nose.

Pan was shaking with a very as she glared down at a cursing and sobbing Brai. "Don't talk about stuff you don't know!" Pan hissed before turning on her heel to leave.

"Wait a minute you bitch!" A hand grabbed her shoulder roughly.

Usually, Pan would have removed the hand without harm, but she knew whose hand it belonged to- Koun's. He was most likely trying to stick up for his cousin and Pan didn't care. She grabbed his hand, giving it a tight enough squeeze that she knew it broke at least a few fingers.

Koun gasped for air, his hand swiftly coming up to his chest as he panted through the pain and glared at Pan. "You'll pay..." he swore.

Pan didn't say anything, she simply just turned back around and continued to walk out. No one else dared stopping her.

By the time Pan made it back to the condo, she was very irritated. She knew she should have just stayed home! Not only did she let her anger get the best of her but she also hurt people... Of course, Brai and Koun deserved it, without a doubt. Still, her mind couldn't help but worry about what Koun said about her paying... Did he mean court? Would they have her arrested? Then what? Pan's stomach sunk lower and lower.

Pan walked into her room, her eyes warm with frustrated tears. Suddenly, she heard scrapping noises on the other side of her balcony and her eyes widened. Her first immediate thought was that it was a burglar and if that were the case, she wasn't about to let them in!

With a huff, Pan formed a small ki blast in her hand that would be enough to scare the intruder and with the other hand, she unlocked her door and threw it open.

Who was on her balcony, wasn't who she excepted.

Blue eyes looked at her curiously and a lavender brow rose in amusement.

"I thought you were a burglar," Pan mumbled, her ki blast diminishing.

"You were going to shoot a burglar?" Trunks fought the urge to laugh.

"No... just scare them," she said softly, and it was then he noticed that something was wrong... and was that a stain on her shirt?

"Hey, whats-"

She grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside before shutting her doors. "I thought you were at the CC party?" Her voice was trembling slightly but she couldn't help it. Her emotions were all over the place and going haywire at the stressful night.

"I left early cause I wanted to spend New Years with you," Trunks told her softly.

Without saying anything else he did what he knew she needed and grabbed her and hugged her tightly. She let out a small sniff before her arms wrapped around him tightly, her nose burying into his shirt.

"What's wrong?" He asked, petting her soft hair.

She shook her head slowly, not wanting to say.

"Come on, Panna... tell me..."

She let out a few sniffs and didn't bother to lean back as she began. "For the past week, Gale and Jin have been wanting me to go to a New Years party at Brai and Koun's and for some reason I agreed to go tonight. We were there no time and Gale and Jin already ditched me to go make out somewhere," she mumbled. "Then I ran into Yuri, and we talked at most three minutes but he had to leave soon because of work and before I knew it Brai spilled her drink on me! And then she was saying stuff about you... and I- I just got so mad!" She huffed, finally pulling back some, but she refused to look at Trunks. "And... I might have broken her nose... and some of Koun's fingers..."

"Panna," Trunks said gently, "what did she say that made you so upset?"

Pan shook her head slowly, her eyes focused on the ground as she tried to blink back her tears. Brai's words from earlier just kept ringing in her ear. She was torn between being upset and livid.

"Panna," Trunks said again, tilting her head up to look at him. "Whatever it was, it really upset you and I would like to know. Tell me, please?"

The intensity of his blue eyes is what got to her. She could never tell him no, not really.

"She asked me if you weren't good enough for me," Pan spoke quietly. "Then she said it should actually be the other way around because why would someone of your class waste time on trash like me?"

Trunks felt his eye tick as a wave of rage tumbled through his body. Just who in the hell did this Brai think she was, calling Pan trash?!

"But what really ticked me off was that she said she would 'take care of you', and then she called you spoiled and said all your money was just inherited and I know that is a lie!" Pan was beginning to storm off. "The only thing you're possibly spoiled in is food and affection!" She was huffing, which was honestly amusing to Trunks. "And although your grandpa set up CC, you've been working there for almost five years! You've done so much for it and-"

She was cut off by Trunks pulling her into another hug. Her cheeks tinted pink as he rested his head against hers and held her close for a good few seconds.

"You're right," he sighed. "I do love the affection, but only if it's from you." He pulled back to wink at her and was thrilled to see her cheeks darkening. "I hope you didn't believe what she said..."

"Of course not..." Pan mumbled, although deep down it had hurt.

Trunks leaned down giving her cheek the softest of kisses and Pan gasped in utter surprise. She was sure her whole face was as red as a tomato.

"You're beautiful, and it's me who isn't good enough for you."

"T-that's not true!" Pan protested, shaking her head vigorously.

Trunks just chuckled. "How about you go take a shower and I'll go down and get us some snacks?" He said, changing the subject.

Pan glanced down at her shirt, she could feel it sticking to her and from the smell of it, it was some alcohol beverage.

"Okay..." she sighed. "Oh wait!" She dug in her pocket before pulling out a capsule. She walked to her desk before opening and she picked up a card before holding it out to Trunks.

"You don't honestly expect me to let you pay, right?" He raised an amused brow.

Pan raised both her brows, her lips twitching in amusement. "It's the card to get into the apartment. I figured you could use it instead of breaking in again."

"Haha..." Trunks mumbled, taking the card from her. "I'll be back in a bit."

"Okay," Pan smiled softly as she watched him walk to her door. "Hey Trunks?"

"Hm?" He turned when he got to her threshold.

Pan smiled so brightly that honestly Trunks had to catch his breath for a second. Had her smiles always been that radiant? Why was he feeling his fave becoming warmer?

"I'm really happy you came tonight," she told him softly.

"There's no where else I'd rather be," he told her honestly.

Trunks waited until he was out of the apartment before pulling out his phone. It took him less than half a minute to find what he was looking for and he smirked to himself in victory as he walked up the stairs towards the roof.

Being the riches guy in the world really had its perks. He had an unimaginable amount of power, and no, he wasn't talking about the Saiyan power he inherited from his father. This power was sometimes even more deadlier than that because with just a snap of his fingers, Trunks could ruin someone's life.

He jumped off the roof, making sure to keep his ki low enough so Pan wouldn't notice and he took off towards Brai and Koun's place.

Trunks entered the place easily, making sure to keep the hood of his blue hoodie up. The music was ridiculously loud and extremely crowded. He shuffled his way through the crowd easily until he made it to what he could only guess as the living room. A swarm of people were gathered around the couch as a furious Brai held up some ice to her nose. Beside her, Koun sat, seething with an awful glare as ice rested upon his hand.

Gale, who Trunks has only met once before was shuffling around behind them nervously. "Are you guys sure it was Pan?" Her voice sounded as nervous as she looked. "I-I mean I'm sure she didn't mean to-"

"It was her!" Koun snapped.

"I can't find Pan," Jin panted as he ran up. "She must have left..."

"The bitch ran away!" Brai was spitting.

"Don't call her that!" Gale pleaded.

"She broke my nose!" Brai was hissing. "She's going to pay... I will make sure of it!" She glanced at Koun, who had what could only be described as sadistic smirk on his face.

"I say we go visit her in her apartment... Her grandfather is away for the night," his low, suggestive voice is what sent Trunks off.

Trunks pushed his way into the opening, walking right up to Brai and Koun. Though they were quick to hide it, they were both intimidated by the sudden appearance of a tall man in a hood.

"Who the fuck are you?" Koun raised a dark eyebrow. "You better move back."

"Or what?" Trunks challenged, his voice dark. "You'll make me?"

With a growl Koun stood up, and was slightly taken back to see that the top of his head only barely went over Trunks' shoulders. "Man!" Koun yelled, "get out of my way! I'll fuck your life up if you even touch me!"

Trunks realized now that the party had grown rather quiet. The music has stopped and it seemed as if everyone that had came was swarmed around them, ready for the drama.

"Will you?" Trunks smirked devilishly and by the look in Koun's eyes he could tell he saw it. Trunks lifted his palm and pulled down his hood.

There was an audible gasp and honestly Trunks wanted to roll his eyes. Everyone always wanted to make such a big damn deal about when he showed up somewhere, really it was more trouble than it was worth. Trunks glanced at Koun, seeing that both him and Brai had paled. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw people beginning to pull out their phones.

"If you don't want to be sued for more money than the last four generations of your family has made all together, then you will put up your phones," Trunks spoke lowly, but it was loud enough to be heard. He was pleased to see people quickly snatching their phones away. He turned towards Koun, "sit." He ordered.

Trembling and fighting back a small whine, Koun was quick to obey.

Brai, although looking as if she were on the verge of panicking, gritted her teeth. "Did that bit-"

"You finish that word, and I'll have you and your family sleeping on the street by the end of the night," Trunks told her cooly.

Brai clenched her teeth, "you think you can do that?! To us! Do you know who we are?!"

"Try me," Trunks dared. "I know very well who you are. Iroi Tsutomu is your grandfather, who forty years ago began the Tsutomu company."

Brai's eyes widened slightly and she glanced at Koun, as if telling him to say something. But the man beside her just swallowed hard, refusing to speak.

"Now," Trunks began. "It has been brought to my attention that you seem to think we are in the same class. I'm here to enlighten you. With the money alone I have earned myself, if I stopped working now, I could easily spend over 65 trillion dollars... per year all the way until I'm at least a hundred."

Brai's mouth popped open in shock, as did most others in the room. They all knew the Briefs were rich, but not that rich...

"You, however," Trunks glanced at Brai. "Your family has less than quarter of s million to last them for the next year."

"T-that's not true!" Brai denied. "W-we're millionaires!"

"Were," Trunks corrected coolly. "For the last two years your grandfather has been begging CC to buy out Tsutomu Company because of your grandfather's bad business decisions and greed, the company is completely and utterly bankrupt and CC refuses to do anything with it."

"Tell me that's not true!" Brai was beginning to sob as she looked at Koun. Still, he was refusing to say anything, his eyes focused on the ground in front of him.

"Oh, I see grandpa hasn't told you yet," Trunks smirked. "Oh well," he shrugged. "At lease now you know... As for what happened earlier with her..."

There was a slight chill through the room and nor Brai and Koun didn't have to ask to know exactly who Trunks was talking about.

"I'm not sure what you two were going to do, I can only speculate, but if either one of you ever lay your hands on her again..." his voice was low and filled with anger. "I myself, will personally, make your life an even more hell than what it is about to become."

"She broke my nose!" Brai was sobbing dramatically. "We could sue!"

"Hm, maybe you shouldn't have spilled your drink on her," Trunks shrugged nonchalantly. "Another thing," he said, looking at her with a smirk so sadistic that Brai forgot how to breathe for a second. "If you were to try to sue her it would be rather laughable because, for one, your dear old grandpa wouldn't be able to afford a lawyer... At least, not one that is good enough to even stand a chance against a CC lawyer. But, if by chance, you want to give it a try... Well, I'm sure there's a street that's calling your name. And don't even get me started on the shit I could leak on you," his cold eyes darted to Koun, who swallowed hard. "You even think about laying a hand on her, and I'll do much worse than what you did."

The room was completely silent as Trunks sighed and rolled his neck, letting it pop a few times. He knew Brai and Koun would make the right decision- the smart decision. Without saying another word he turned around and walked towards the door. He still had a snacks to buy for Pan, and he didn't want her to wait long if he could help it.

Pan's hair was still damp as she finished setting up her bed. She had thrown several more blankets and pillows on top of it, trying to make it look as comfortable as possible. She grabbed the remote to her tv and turned it on a station where it would be counting down for the ball to drop.

Her stomach gave a small rumble and she frowned, wondering where Trunks was... It had been almost half an hour, surely he didn't get lost... Slowly, Pan shook her head. No, Trunks never got lost. It was like he had a mental gps or something in him. Knowing him, he probably stopped and got a lot of junk food, and that's what was taking so long...

Pan's suspicions were confirmed as Trunks walked back in with a huge grin as he carried several boxes of takeout and even more bags with drinks, chips, cookies, fruits and candies.

"Trunks, seriously," Pan giggled, taking the takeout boxes from him and setting them on the corner of her bed.

"What?" He laughed, "I'm hungry, okay?"

"When aren't you?" She teased, causing him to roll his eyes.

They settled down on the bed, eating the takeout and then the chips... and then the cookies. Honestly, Pan was rather thankful that she was a Saiyan. By the time it was ten minutes til midnight, the two of them were leaned against Pan's headboard, only halfway paying attention to the program as they threw skittles at each other.

Pan snorted as a purple one hit Trunks right on the nose, and he snickered as he aimed a red one right at her forehead.

"Ugh, you're gonna help me pick all these up," Pan told him, as two more skittles, a yellow and a green one, flew past her.

"You're wish is my command," he grinned, starting to eat the strawberries he had bought.

Pan let out a small sigh. "Is Bulma going to be mad at you for ditching the party?"

Trunks shrugged, "she hasn't called me, cussing me out yet so I don't think so."

"Still... you left right in the middle of it."

"It was lame," Trunks groaned.

"You think every party is lame," Pan's lips twitched.

"...You're not there," Trunks spoke quietly. "So yeah... They're lame."

Pan felt her cheeks growing warm and without saying anything she leaned her head against Trunks' arm. She focused her attention to the tv. It was just five minutes til midnight now, and the program was going around, talking to guests who were there about who their New Years kiss would be...

Kiss... Here she was, fifteen and had never been kissed before... Of course, there was only one person she wanted to kiss, though feeling a wave of butterflies going off in her stomach, she slowly sat up and leaned away from Trunks.

"Panna?" He raised an eyebrow at her curiously.

"Um..." she began, licking her lips. "Have you ever kissed anyone on New Years?"

Trunks made a face, "other than my mom making me kiss her cheek? No."

Pan nodded slowly, her stomach knotting up in nerves. Slowly, she took a deep breath before letting it go. She knew if she wanted that kiss, then she would have to ask him...

Glancing down at her ring Trunks had given her for her fourteenth birthday, she smiled, her nerves slowly fading. She could do this...

"It's a promise, right?" She held up her hand so he could see the ring and smiled at him.

"Yeah," he smiled at her softly.

Every time he saw her, she grew in beauty. She was growing into a gorgeous young woman, but he knew that she was still quiet young. And that was okay- perfectly okay. He wasn't in any rush.

Pan turned so her body was facing him and Trunks raised his brows in amusement. Just what was she doing?

Pan took a deep breath and licked her lips slightly. "I... have never been kissed," she confessed, her cheeks tinting pink.

Trunks' eyes widened slightly and he felt a tickle in his throat. He rather liked that... That no boys had been unnecessarily kissing on her...

Pan shifted slightly, "I want... I want you to be my first kiss, Trunks," she told him softly. "I want a kiss on New Years..."

Of all the things Trunks was expecting tonight... That was not it. His cheeks felt ridiculously warm and he swallowed hard, trying to get rid of the lump in his throat. She wanted him to kiss her? He glanced at her lips, which she saw and unconsciously licked them. Trunks wanted to groan... They looked so damn soft!

"Are..." he cleared his throat, trying to get the tickle out. "Are you sure?"

"Mhm," Pan nodded quickly, a small smile on her face. "I've always wanted you to be my first kiss..." she admitted shyly. "Will you, Trunks?"

Trunks was sure his heart was about to bust out of his chest. Oh hell... He wanted to be her first kiss too... and he was always bad at tell her no...

"Okay," he whispered and his breath caught at the smile she gave him.

Pan glanced at the tv, noticing that it was just a minute to New Years and the countdown was beginning. Her heart hammered in her chest as she watched the numbers get lower and lower... At twenty seconds, she turned to Trunks, her cheeks pink, eyes wide and lips parted. She was pleased to see he was blushing too...

"Close your eyes..." he whispered. He had never been the one to get embarrassed but with her looking at him like that he couldn't help the knots in his stomach.

She did as she was told, and slowly, Trunks cupped her cheeks, tilting her head up some. He couldn't help but stare at her... She really was beautiful...

Four...

Three...

Two...

One..!

Happy New Years! The tv buzzed loudly as fireworks popped and confetti fell everywhere.

Pan's heart was pounding as she felt Trunks lean in. She felt his bangs brush up against her nose first before she felt it. His lips, firm... and rather soft against her own. Her whole lips were buzzing, spreading all through out her body. A small sigh escaped her as she enjoyed the thrilling, chaste touch that lasted just a few seconds.

Trunks pulled away slowly, and hazily Pan opened her eyes. His blue eyes were looking back at her, shinning brightly. She couldn't help but lick her lips, which just made the buzzing sensation grow even more. She couldn't wait until she could kiss him again...

"Happy New Years, Trunks," she smiled at him brightly.

"Happy New Years, Panna," he grinned.
