The beginning of sin chapter 10: Saying goodbye
Ralph woke up in a small room. He knew he did not have long and he was worried. This was going to be his end. Matt found out Ralph had survived and something terrible was going to happen.
He walked out. He had been staying in a church. The priest walks up to him.
''Are you ready?'' The priest asked. He was carrying a wrapped up suit with shoes and a razor blade.
''I think it is time.'' Ralph said as he took the stuff from the priest.
Ralph spent the morning shaving and cleaning himself. He put on the black suit but decided to leave the tie. He looked like he used to, the only thing that was different was the symbol on his hand.
''Are you sure about this?'' The priest asked as Ralph was about to leave.
''Yes.'' Ralph said.
''Where will you go?'' The priest asked.
''To say my goodbyes.'' Ralph said. He walked out and got on a motorbike and drove off.
Ralph drove around the country saying his goodbyes. First it was Jerome.
Ralph walked into a bar in San Diego. It was a small place but very lively. Ralph walked to the bar and ordered a water with lemon. He looked around and saw Jerome. He was wearing a very colourful suit and drinking a whisky.
Jerome looked at the bar and instantly recognized Ralph. Ralph nodded and walked out. The next was Alan.
Ralph drove up to a university. He looked around and found Alan working in a lab, he was with a young blonde girl. He walked up to a window and looked in. Alan was preparing an experiment and saw Ralph. Ralph nodded again and then walked away.
Ralph drove away and Alan went looking for him but couldn't catch up. The next person was Michael.
Ralph struggles finding Michael but he eventually found him. Michael had just recruited John. Michael looked different, he was no longer a struggling teenager. He was dressed in a suit and walking down the street.
''So what now?'' John asked.
''I know someone we can recruit.'' Michael said as he walked down the street.
Ralph walked towards a newspaper stand. He purchased a newspaper and found a picture of a derelict house for sale. He put his hat over his face and walked towards Michael.
''I recommend this.'' Ralph said as he handed Michael the paper and walked off. He looked back and Michael recognised him but was silent. The next was Barbara
Ralph found the house he moved to with Barbara. He walked past it and looked into the window. He saw Barbara with a young Rachel. He looked at them for several seconds. Barbara looked at him but Ralph nodded and walked away. The next was Margaret.
Margaret was working at her dry cleaners. It was a busy day and she was tired. Margaret was serving Mrs Snell.
''Say hello to Carrie for me, bye.'' Mrs Snell said as she walked out. Ralph walked up to the counter ignoring every voice in his head, he kept his head down but it didn't work.
''How is she?'' Ralph asked. He didn't want to be recognised.
''Sorry?'' Margaret asked. She was suspicious of him and Ralph was starting to realize how much of a bad idea this was.
''Carrie, is she, is she ok?'' Ralph asked. He revealed himself and Margaret just looked at him in shock. Ralph nodded and walked out. The next one and final one was Carrie.
Carrie was walking home from school. She was stopped by some boys and they started throwing her bag around. Ralph walked over and catched the bag and handed it to Carrie. The boys walked away yelling insults.
''Thanks.'' Carrie said. She looked like she recognised him but couldn't work out who he was.
''You shouldn't let people do that to you.'' Ralph said.
''They think I'm weird, I've had it all my life.'' Carrie replied. She had no idea who he was but she felt like she did, it was eating her up.
''I can guarantee it will get better.'' Ralph said before walking off. He wanted to give her the letter but he knew it wasn't the time, she had to triumph. A tear was building up because of all the lost moments he should have had with her or that he would never get to give her the letter in person.
Ralph was back at the church. He was standing over Johns grave, his oldest friend. He chose to stay at the church for this reason. Matt and several people walked up to him.
''You are hard man to find Ralph. I actually thought you died.'' Matt said as he pulled out a gun.
''It ends now.'' Ralph said.
''It does, get him.'' Matt said. His men went to get Ralph. Ralph fought most of them and used his power to make his punched harder. Matt fired a bullet but it was pushed back into Matt's leg.
''How did you survive?'' Ralph asked.
''It wasn't me you stupid religious'' Matt said but was interrupted when Ralph picked him up.
''It all ends now.'' Ralph said before punching him over and over.
''With your death.'' Matt said tauntingly.
''I am dead. I lost my friends, my family, my sanity. I lost everything.'' Ralph said as he punched him over and over.
''Goodbye Ralph.'' Matt said. Two men walked up to them. They looked like the one Ralph killed at the base, the one that had been experimented on.
Ralph let Matt go and fought the two soldiers. Ralph was no use against them and was easily beaten. They kept hitting him and hitting him. Matt picked up his pistol and put it to Ralphs head.
''It won't end like this.'' Ralph said.
''why not?'' Matt asked.
''Because I wont allow it.'' Ralph yelled. He stood up. He felt great pain because of the cuts, bruises and broken leg but still got up. He punched one of the soldiers in the throat using his power to make his punch stronger killing him.
Ralph got into a fist fight with the other one but used his power to trip him over and then snap his neck.
''Why wont you die.'' Matt yelled as he shot Ralph three times.
''Not until I know my daughter is safe.'' Ralph said. He struggled standing but managed to.
''Oh she will be safe in hell.'' Matt yelled. Ralph knew what this meant.
''You'll be there first.'' Ralph said. Matt started to walk away but Ralph used the last bit of energy he had to use his power. He used it to snap Matts neck killing him properly.
Ralph fell to the ground. He felt death coming and it felt relieving. He saw a young Carrie walk up to him. It was his imagination again but it made him happy.
''Goodbye daddy.'' Carrie said. Ralph didn't want to be alone so he grabbed her hand.
''Be a good girl and remember, daddy loves you.'' Ralph said before dying.
