Flying over the Never Land Sea, Perri gazed down, to see no sign of the Jolly Roger. Just hours ago, a bloody battle took place aboard its deck. Now, it was different. I guess she did sent it into deeper waters, she thought, as she glanced over to her sister. Flying at an angle, in order to keep Mike comfortable, she flew the slowest. The others went ahead, to the fairy camp in the meadow adjacent to the Griffiths family cottage.

For the next few days, the magical human twin sisters, along with their fairy best friends, tended to the healing, yet transformed human male teen, to make sure that the magic infused within him, had no side effects. Unbeknownst to him, he was showered with more love and care than any man could ever wish for, on a completely different level. Even the hard-hearted Vidia discovered a soft spot inside her for him, because she was there when it all happened. She never thought she would see anything so inhumane. Second thoughts were now coursing through her head.

He laid still, as if he was dead, but he was breathing, being in a dormant state. The feeling of having two limbs seperated from his body, sent his mind into shock, and nearly caused a cardiac arrest in his heart, but was somehow stopped, by his calmness and sense of peace that came upon him at that time. Though he's done nothing wrong, in his mind, it seemed it was inedible to happen. Whether will he have any recollection of the events are forthcoming.

Because Mike taught Belle how to cook, she prepared meals for them, though he was in a dormant state, he could not eat. On the other hand, Perri had to get used to eating meat and other things, due to her dramatic change. She now had the appetite of a human, so she needed to eat like one, to keep her strength up. She'll find out more when she goes with her sister to her new home. Won't Peter be surprised.

On New Year's Eve night, all the girls gathered outside, looking towards London, as the countdown to the New Year started. When it finally hit, the fireworks could be seen from the countryside they were in. As Belle and Perri stood in the walkway, the fairies were perched atop their shoulders and heads. As the fireworks display continued, the former tinker fairy gazed back and up towards the room Mike rested in.

Wish you could see this, she thought, as the colors lit up the night sky, Happy New Year, my love.

Finally going upstairs after their friends headed back to the camp for some rest, Belle looked in the room she shared with Mike. She had already packed their bags, and the courier will be there in the morning to pick them up. Having received a call from Zoe Griffiths, Lizzy's three times great granddaughter, she would be over to see how things turned out. She gave no specific details, only that things happened, and some things were lost.

Lizzy turned all her children and grandchildren onto the belief of fairies, and all have seen them up close and personal. She had a strong influence on subsequent generations of the Griffiths family, even after her father, Dr. Martin Griffiths, passed away when she gave him his first grandchild. Lizzy lived a long, prosporous life, and finally seen her sunset in 1985, at the age of ninety-three. How so much Belle missed her first human friend.

Walking over to his bedside, already in her custom-made nightgown, she sat down on the bed, and placed her hand on his head. Slowly running it through his dark hair, she smiled. Then a voice whispered out to her.

"Is it alright if I come in?" as she looked up, to see Perri standing in the doorway. Also in a nightgown, borrowed from her sister, she was pretty apprehensive about entering, not wanting to interrupt an intimate moment.

"It's alright, Perri," she assured her twin, "he belongs to you too, come on in." Shocked at that statement, the former frost fairy slowly walked to the opposite side of the bed and sat down. Still a bit nervous, she wanted to say what she felt, and needed to.

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to say that Mike has captured my heart too, right?" she asked, nervously, not knowing what her sister would say. The last thing she wanted was for her to lash out in anger. But it was the complete opposite.

"I already knew it was coming," she replied, "Mike's a special guy. He's been through a lot, and is slowly getting over what happened with Hook eight years ago." She sighed. "It's gonna take him even longer to get over this bout."

"And he's going to need all the love and attention he can get," the frost girl replied in turn, "who would think that he'd go through more than what the toughest pirate has been through?"

Belle sighed. "Since my adventures with Peter, I always thought that I'd never find anyone to accept me, and understand me at a deep level, besides Terence," as her sister giggled, "but when I met Mike for the first time when he was ten, I saw something in his eyes, that said that he believes in all things. Something that sent my spirits soaring. To know that Peter went on to marry and raise a great family, made me happier. And meeting Mike and falling in love with him is the best thing to happen to me, besides finding you, of course."

Perri's eyes sparkled. "He's that special, isn't he?"

"Yep," she replied, "but between us, we love him, together, no sharing."

Perri's eyes widened in surprise. "Are you sure?" she asked in shock. "I'd surely thought you'd be jealous-"

Belle stopped her. "Perri, we're twins. Our feeling mirror each other. We're not naturally born. We were born of a special magic: a baby's first laugh. And because of that, I've accepted any and everything that happens to me, and to you. Silvermist was right, you are the perfect lost thing, and I'm never gonna let you go. You were meant to fall in love as well."

Perri thought about this. "With the same person?" she asked.

"I believe," choosing her words carefully, "that we were meant to be protectors," with assurance, "protectors of the son of Peter Pan." She stroked Mike's cheek as he slept dreamlessly. "You're falling for him, just as I had. His character is something, as well as his humbleness. I'm not gonna let him stay like this for the rest of his life. And I know you don't want him to, either, right?"

The frost girl smiled. "Nope," she said giggled, "whatever ideas you have to give back what he lost, I'm game."

The former tinker fairy smiled, knowing her sister is now along for the ride.

The morning shone bright on New Year's Day, as her friend Zoe arrived. Hearing about her three-times great grandmother's exploits with fairies, and seeing them for herself on her visits to the countryside during the summer, made her belief in the magical creatures steadfast. She even brought her children there to meet the tinker fairy and her friends. Belle had gotten to know five generations of the Griffiths family, more than any fairy that existed, before or since.

Zoe also knew about the one known as Peter Pan, and all his adventures. To hear that he'd grown up, moved away and raised a family surprised her. But to meet his son, was another thing, as shock took her over. Seeing him in that condition brought tears to the woman's eyes, as Belle and Perri relayed the events aboard the Jolly Roger that early Christmas Day morning. Because her father was an expert in electronics and mechanics, and her uncle a medical doctor, Zoe offered the family's assistance in restoring his mobility, by helping design new limbs for the teen. Mike had showed her how to use a computer, and mastered it quickly; the two exchanged email addresses, and vowed to keep in contact, over the following days and weeks exchange ideas for this project.

Late in the afternoon, after Zoe left, Belle and Perri prepared to head back to the States. The courier had already picked up their luggage, so the last tidying was done to keep the cottage in top shape, as it had been for the past one hundred twenty years.

All the fairies gathered outside, as the chilly wind blew through the countryside. Spike and Gliss had frosted the warm fairies' wings, and with their winter gear, all of them were as warm as possible. First to exit was the frost girl, formerly known as Periwinkle. Her sister took some of the loose sheets around the cottage, and fashioned a nice outfit for her to wear, until they got back to Detroit. Though she still favored the cold, she was now able to feel the warm side as well. Because of the magic inside her, she can create frost, if her surroundings were at the appropriate temperature to maintain it. She did look a bit strange without wings, but they were not at all gone, as she had the same ability as her sister.

Next came the other twin, the one known as Pixie Hollow's most talented fairy. Carrying her physically broken boyfriend, now Perri's as well, she took a whiff of the fresh chilly air. She only wish that Mike could do the same. Bundled up in his coat, and his head resting on her broad shoulder, the only thing she could think of, was how to get him walking again. Ideas churned in her mind, and ready to jot down, once they reach their destination. He may be down, but knowing him, he's far from out.

The seven fairy friends gathered around the magical human twins.

"We're gonna miss you," said Silvermist. She flew up and gave Belle a little hug at her thick neck, then flittered down to Mike, and placed a tiny peck on his cheek. "You get better and come back to visit us," as each of the girls did the same thing, then gathered around Perri, wishing her the best in her new life.

"You're gonna be missed," said Spike, with a hint of sadness in her voice, that surprised Gliss.

Being the last one, Vidia flew up to her friend. "That whole ordeal, kinda, changed me," whispered the fast flyer in her ear, "but you're still my rival, no matter what," as she flew in front of her and winked. Belle nodded slightly in return. Vidia then flew down to Mike, and laid her hand on his cheek. "You got guts, boy," she whispered, "your sacrifice was not in vain, I'll see you again soon, sunshine," as she pecked his cheek.

"We better get going," said Belle, "we wanna try to get there by morning." Concentrating, sparkles appeared around each of them, as new outfits appeared on them, as well as large size versions of their transluscent fairy wings, with the same intricate pattern engrained into them, but many times stronger than when in their tiny form. The fairies were in awe at the sight.

"Whoa," commented Iridessa, "very impressive."

"No kidding," added Fawn.

"I'll direct the wiinds to help you get through the cold, to keep Michael safe," said Vidia, as she used her power to cut through the chill in a westerly direction. Fluttering their now massive wings, the two took flight in the chilly New Year's Day air, as the other fairies followed them, heading away from London, and over the ocean. Upon reaching open water, the friends parted ways.

"Have a safe trip, sugarplums," called Rosetta.

"It's not goodbye," added Fawn, "we'll see you soon!"

"Come and visit sometime," called back Belle, as she and Perri headed over the water, and above the clouds. The seven fairies watched as the two, with one in tow, disappeared above cloud cover.

"Queen Clarion was right," said Silvermist, "there will never be another fairy like TinkerBell."

"You mean," corrected Vidia, "there will never be another pair like Belle and Perri," with a smirk.

"Oh, that too." The fast flyer shook her head.

"I say that the son of Peter Pan is in safe hands," commented Iridessa. All seven sighed.

"He's so dreamy," said Gliss, which garnered a incredulous look from Spike.

"Never mind," she said to herself, as all seven headed to the east, towards the second star.

The two flew slow, as to not use too much energy to tire themselves out, and also to give the resting teen a comfortable ride. Flying above cloud cover proved to be effective, as they avoided any storms caused by the winter fairies during this season. They had crossed the international dateline long ago, and it was already dark in some parts of the world. Flying over the Atlantic Ocean, Perri was amazed at how vast the water spanned across various continents.

Ducking from under the cumulus clouds and into the deep part of the Atlantic, they saw the eastern seaboard, the east coast of the United States. Particularly, the state of Florida. It was nighttime, and everything was silent, for the most part. This gave Belle an idea. If what she heard was right, she would do it. Heading down, Perri followed in pursuit.

"Where're we going, Belle?" she asked her sister.

"There's a place I always wanted to see," as they flew over the city of Orlando, and headed to a familiar place. In it, stood various buildings, structures and other things of the like.

"What is this place?" the frost girl asked, as the hovered over the giant open facility.

"I read about this place, and Peter told me about it," replied the former tinker, "it's called," pausing, "Walt Disney World."

"What?" Perri asked in confusion.

"It's what humans call, an 'amusement park', she answered, "while Mike and I were watching some movies, I saw this at the beginning of them, and it had this very castle," gazing at Cinderella's Castle in the middle of the complex.

"Whoa," said her sister, "so, what do you want to do?"

Belle turned to her sister. "Could you take Mike?" as she handed their man over to her. Perri was more than strong enough to handle the lanky teen. Adjusting to where his head rested on her shoulder blade, she bent down and gently kissed him on the lips. A minute later, he began to stir, his eye opening slightly, to see an obscured version of her beautiful face.

"Belle," he whispered hoarsely, "where...am I...?"

"We're almost home," she whispered, "but there's something I want you to see." Allowing his sight to adjust to the nighttime dim lighting, he looked at her wearily. He had no idea that Perri, the fairy he healed of the magical ailment, was holding him in her arms.

Moving away from him, she gestured Perri to follow. Soon they were hovering in front of the castle, at a nice distance. Mike couldn't believe where they were.

"Are we at," pausing, "Disney World?"

"Yep," she said, creating balls of pixie dust that covered her hands, "and this is for you, my love."

Taking off, she flew to the east of the castle, and with the dust, flew swiftly over it in a sparkling arch to the west, recreating the opening magical sequence of many movies made by The Walt Disney Company.

"Whoa," he muttered in awe, "so...pretty," as his eye grew heavy, knowing he couldn't stay conscious for much longer. Perri was just as amazed at her sister's ability, as she made her way back to them.

Down below, security guards were walking down Main Street USA, patrolling the park, when one caught hold of the sight. Others were near the rides, and the various complexes that made up this giant multi-acre of fun and fantasy. As another was at Epcot Center, he could see the sparkles coming from above Cinderella's Castle.

"Wha-" as he adjusted his eyes, thinking he didn't see what he just saw. Right then, he fired up the radio, to speak with his colleagues, but was beat to the punch.

"Hey,'' one called over the radio, "did you see...an arch of golden sparkles over Cinderella's Castle?"

"I think I did," he replied, "what do you think?"

"I don't know," he responded, "it's probably just the moonlight reflecting off of something," sounding unsure.

"Maybe our eyes are playing tricks on us," he radioed back, "probably is just a reflection from the moonlight."

"The Christmas celebration really took a toll on us then," he replied in answer. "Maybe we need a vacation."

"Yeah," he said, "maybe," as he turned off the radio.

Belle was smiling from ear to ear, knowing that she did something to make her man happy. Flying back to him, she saw that his eye had closed, and that he was out again. It was for the better anyway, as she stroked his cheek.

"That was amazing, sis," Perri commented, "just as good as when you started on ice skates!" Belle cocked an eyebrow at that comment, then smiled.

"Give me our man back," she joked, as she handed the healing yet battered male back to her. Cradling his form in her massive arms, she realized that this is where they belonged: at the side of the son of Peter Pan.

"Let's go home," she whispered, as the two took off north by northeast, easily gliding through the chilly southern winter.

EPILOGUE

As the morning sun rose above the city of Detroit, the Philips household stirred with life. It is the second day of the new year, and everyone was preparing for something special. Though it was very cold, as snow had started to fall, it wouldn't stop what was planned.

Peter and Sara were in the kitchen, while Ashley was taking a shower. They decided they would not sleep in, for today, their son and girlfriend returned from their winter vacation.

As the male formerly known as Peter Pan allowed thoughts to fill his mind, he recollected all the things he did while as the boy who would never grow up; then, fast forward a few years later, he was happy about his decision to grow up. But mostly, he thought about all the pain and hell his son had to go through, when Hook kidnapped his children, and he had to go back to Never Land to rescue them. A page in his history that remains etched into his soul to this day.

Sitting at the table having a light breakfast, Sara poured him a cup of coffee. She gazed at her husband, one that she loved above all for the past twenty years. She knew of his past, and didn't mind it at all. It did not come to light until the kids were taken by the pirates, and she accepted him for what and who he was. She was told of the fairy tales when she was a child, but to have the actual become reality? Unfathomable. She broke the silence.

"What's wrong Peter?" she asked, breaking her husband out of his trance.

"Oh," he said startled, "uh, nothing, just-"

"It's alright," she said kindly, "I understand you're worried about Mike, he and Belle will be home soon."

As the two were talking, their daughter had put on her warm coat, and went out into the back yard. The snow slushed under her feet, as she gazed to the sky, the snow falling on her face. Just then, she spotted something in the distance. She carefully made her way back to the door.

"Mom, dad," she called into the kitchen, "I think I see them!"

Peter and Sara quickly grabbed their coats, as they were fully dressed, and casually walked out to the snow-covered veranda. Gazing up to the sky, they did see two figures, but one was not Mike. In fact, it looked like another...fairy?

"It feels pretty nice," commented Perri to her twin, "I can get used to this."

"The weather patterns change up dramatically in this part of the country," Belle said, looking down and recognizing the neighborhood, then seeing the Philips house. She smiled. "We're home," she sighed. Both began their descent towards the large fenced-in backyard, where three people stood outside.

Standing straight as they landed, the family of three walked out to greet them, and it was a shock to say the least. Before them, was the fairy they knew now as a human, a good bit bigger than before, along with another fairy, nearly identical to her, with slight variations of appearance. And in her massive arms, was their son, Ashley's older brother, bundled up in a coat.

"Belle," Peter spoke, "what happened," and gesturing to the other female, "and who is she?" asking in confusion.

Belle sighed, knowing this was going to be hard to explain. "A lot of unexpected things happened, and much of a price was paid," with a bit of grief in her voice. It still hurt her now. "And I would like for you to meet Perri," pausing, "my twin sister."

The jaws and eyes of all three were open in shock, at the sight and hearing of this turn of events. She snapped them out of their trance.

"Uh, let's get inside," she said, walking towards the back door, "we need to get Mike to his room so he can rest." The others followed, still stunned at the news, but one surprise was the younger Philips sibling beaming over a new person in the household.

"So," she began, "are you really Belle's sister?"

"Yep," she replied, "I was a frost fairy, before I got sick, but your brother healed me, and sacrificed himself to protect me." she gazed towards where her sister was taking him upstairs to his room. "Be glad you have a brother like him." She was on the verge of tears when she said that. Ashley smiled wide.

"I am," she replied, "I am," making their way into the living room. To say that life in the Philips household has change dramatically, is not enough. When one sacrifices oneself for a belief, it can release the most amazing magic. Michael Philips will learn that in time, as a just reward for doing so.

(Tinker)Belle Returns to Never Land is dedicated to the memory of Robin Williams, who played the adult Peter Pan in the 1991 movie HOOK. It is because of his strong portrayal and acting prowess of that character, created by Sir James M. Barrie, that inspired me to write this story. We miss you, Robin.
