I am making up for not updating before by posting another chapter. I hope you guys enjoy, because I spent two hours typing this. This is definitely my favourite chapter of this story now, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
After a refreshing sleep, Aiden opened his eyes to find that the apartment was pitch-black, and there was nothing but silence in the air.
"Perfect," Aiden said to himself, "time to initiate my plan."
Reaching into a corner, Aiden grabbed a hidden suitcase which was blue and very thick. With a click of a button and the swipe of an arm, the suitcase was opened and the contents were revealed.
"Security cameras," Aiden grinned. "This has to be the best idea I have ever had!"
Slowly, Aiden grabbed the cameras one by one and set them up around the house. At first, it was a breeze for Aiden. Just mount the cameras and connect them to the power grid. The problem came when there were only two cameras left to mount. The only places in the house that didn't have a camera were Sherman's room and Mr. Peabody's room. The challenge was sneaking into the rooms and installing the cameras without waking Sherman or Peabody.
Ginger made that task seem extremely easy. She had constantly been telling Aiden stories about how she snuck into Sherman and Peabody's room and the story about when she slept in Peabody's bed.
"Here goes nothing," Aiden mumbled, before reaching for the handle to Sherman's bedroom.
He had never done this before. His heart was thumping and his teeth were chattering like crazy, and it wasn't even cold. He slowly reached for the handle and turned it.
The first thing that caught Aiden's eye was that fact that Sherman was still sleeping. Other than that, there was really nothing of interest in the room.
"Okay, I can do this," Aiden whispered to himself. "I just need to mount this camera to the wall and connect the wires! Come on Aiden, focus!"
A traumatized Aiden began to tiptoe across the room to the far corner of the room. It took about three minutes for Aiden to move across the room. Once he was there, he just had to mount the camera.
"Slowly," Aiden said, mounting the camera onto the wall.
"Hhhrrrummmphhh," Sherman moaned in his sleep.
That weak sound was enough to make Aiden freeze in place. "Oh god oh god oh god oh god..." Aiden said.
"No, Aiden! Don't do it!" Sherman said in his sleep.
"Eek!" Aiden squealed, grabbing the wires and connecting them in a flash to get out of the room.
Breathing at three hundred miles per hour, Aiden tried to get a better glimpse of his surroundings again. Luckily, the apartment was still dark and quiet. Meaning that Aiden could install the last camera and then initiate the next step of the plan.
"Maybe I shouldn't tiptoe this time," Aiden wondered. "Then Peabody won't wake up while I'm in there."
It wasn't long before Aiden slowly opened Mr. Peabody's door and wandered across the room, taking ten seconds to get across instead of three minutes.
"Mount... wires..." said Aiden while he was setting up the camera. "Out of here, check."
All of a sudden, Aiden froze again. Something had caught his eye. It was a simple device sitting on the nightstand next to the sleeping beagle.
"Cell phone," Aiden said, picking up the iPhone 5S. "I could definitely use this."
Now that all the cameras were set up, it was time to initiate the next step of the plan. He walked over to the home phone and dialled Ginger's number.
"Hello?" Ginger said weakly.
"Ginger, it's me, Aiden."
"Aiden? Where have you been? I've been looking for you everywhere!"
"I'm in Sherman's house."
"What did you do?" Ginger asked, sounding very interested.
"I set up security cameras in their house," Aiden beamed.
"Awesome!"
"Do you wanna come over and we can spy on them?"
"Oh you know I do! See you in a few minutes!"
"'Kay!" Aiden chirped, hanging up the phone. In the few minutes that it took for Ginger to arrive at Sherman and Mr. Peabody's apartment, Aiden went and downloaded a program on Peabody's laptop, a program that was necessary to spy on Sherman and Peabody.
"I'm here!" Ginger said quietly, opening the door and wandering in, shutting the front door behind her.
"Perfect timing. We can spy on them!" Aiden replied.
"On screen, now!" said Ginger.
Aiden proudly jumped on the computer and opened up the program. "And this should give us picture!" Aiden beamed.
Images of all the cameras came up on the screen and Ginger and Aiden now had full access to the security cameras, and Sherman and Peabody's secrets.
"I also got his phone!" Aiden chirped.
"Well, open it and let's see!" Ginger demanded.
"Uh oh. Pass code," Aiden groaned.
"Try 1-2-3-4," said Ginger.
Aiden tapped the appropriate numbers on the keypad but all he got in response was a buzz from the phone. "No," he whined.
"How about 4-3-2-1?" Ginger suggested.
More taps. However, instead of buzzing, the phone unlocked and Aiden was in. "Nice!" he said. "Let's mess with Peabody's autocorrect!"
"How do you do that?" Ginger questioned.
"It's simple," Aiden said, going into Settings.
Then General.
Then Keyboard.
And finally, Add New Shortcut.
Two blank boxes came up, one said Phrase and the other said Shortcut. For the first mess up, Aiden used something simple. Under Shortcut, he typed 'Hello', and under Phrase, he typed 'I have the biggest crush on Justin Bieber'.
"That is epic! I wanna do one!" Ginger said.
Ginger wrote 'How are you?' under Shortcut and 'I like to drink buckets of maple syrup' in Phrase.
"Peabody will be so amused in the morning!"
Ginger and Aiden continued to mess with Peabody's phone, programming it to turn the simplest phrases into the most humiliating things ever.
Peabody's phone buzzed with a text from his friend Jamie. It was finally morning and Ginger and Aiden's prank was about to unfold.
Jamie: Hey
Peabody: I have the biggest crush on Justin Bieber
Suddenly, Peabody stared at the screen in confusion. He did not type that. He meant to type 'Hello' but it changed into the first humiliating phrase.
Jamie: Lol that is random and weird!
Peabody: I didn't mean to type that! I meant to type I have the biggest crush on Justin Bieber!
Peabody: I meant to type h-e-l-l-o !
Jamie: This is hilarious.
Peabody: So I like to drink buckets of maple syrup
Jamie: Eww that's disgusting! Why would anyone drink maple syrup?
Peabody: Something is wrong with my phone
Jamie: Sounds like u got hacked :P
Peabody: Ugh. Snickerdoodles.
Peabody: Fudgesickles!
Peabody: B-e r-i-g-h-t b-a-c-k!
Jamie: LOL
Peabody angrily put down his phone, and the first thing that caught his eye was that Aiden and Ginger were hiding in the corner, laughing their little hollow heads out.
"Aiden! Did you hack my phone!?" Peabody bellowed.
Aiden stood up from his hiding spot and moved in front of Peabody's laptop. "Well... 'hack' is kind of a strong word, don't you think?"
"Step away from the computer," Peabody demanded.
"No, no!" Aiden panicked.
"Come on," said Peabody, pushing Aiden away.
"I really don't think you want to do that!"
However, Mr. Peabody didn't listen to Aiden's pleas and he woke up the laptop to reveal the security camera footage.
"You set up security cameras in the house?" Peabody asked, outraged.
"Well, yes," Aiden admitted.
"And you were spying on us all night!?"
"Pretty much!" Ginger piped up, exiting her hiding spot.
"Out!" Peabody yelled, effectively pushing Ginger and Aiden out the door.
"What on earth is going on here?" Sherman asked, stepping out of his bedroom, looking very tired.
"Ginger and Aiden set up security cameras in the house!" Mr. Peabody said outraged.
"What? Oh god!" said Sherman.
"I'll get rid of the cameras!" Peabody said.
"We have got to get rid of those freaks," Sherman scoffed.
Whew, I personally loved that chapter. I will be posting another chapter of The New Dimension next. And the security camera idea was suggested by Shinigamilover2 quite a while ago.
Speaking of suggestions, I will no longer be taking any more of them. I have the rest of the story planned out.
Anyways, reviews are always appreciated!
