Lucy's POV
I woke up early the next morning and took a nice and cold shower to wake me up. After I had my hair dryed and pulled back into a braid changed into the training clothes and sat on my bed looking out the window. My father and I had watched Serene and Daniel be reaped on reaping day and when I volunteered after the capitol had announced that they were adding more tributes he said that I had to get a better score than her, I remembered the day like it was yesterday.
I sat in the room all alone when my dad came in, I stood up and looked at him. He smiled and hugged me before saying.
"Make me proud Lucy."
I nodded and hugged him back
"Don't worry dad, I will. I will beat everyone and come home."
He looked at me and I saw tears in his eyes, so I said to reassure him.
"I promise, and I will beat their son too."
I was talking about Daniel, my father was mad after Katniss had picked Peeta over him and declared that he would stop at nothing to ruin their lives so he trained me with everything he knew and even if he didn't know something he learned it and trained me so that I would be prepared for anything. He was going to say something but the peacekeepers came in and said that it was time to go. I hugged him one last time and said goodbye before I watched him leave the room. I would make him proud, I was determined to.
I got up and headed to the dining room, Effie was in there with Serene, Daniel and Jamey. Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch weren't up yet. Heck it was 5 in the morning I don't see why they would be up. I grabbed some food and sat down, I ate my food in silence as did the rest of us before we went to the elevator and was sent down to the waiting room with all the other tributes. It was going to be a couple of hours before we went so I looked at all of the tributes since I actually got a good look at them. Katrarina went first, she was in there for a little of while before she came out and wished Malia good luck before going into the elevator and leaving. Malia went in next, I wanted to wish my career friends good luck but instead I sat there and silently flirted with Daniel who was sitting across from me. After ten minutes Maila came out and went straight for the elevator, Vincenzo went in and Daniel redirected his attention on the district 4 female Marcie who was starting to talk to him. Vincenzo came out and left and then Donte went in, this went on for quite a while. District after District after district, finally Marcie went in and left and I was able to get Daniel's attention again. He zoned out and I was left talking to no one, I closed my eyes and thought that maybe the sessions would go faster.
When I was woken up it was the last boy from district 11 going in and I got ready to go in, after he came out I went in and saw that the game makers were quite bored. I threw some knifes around and stabbed some spears, I climbed the rock wall in there and did the obstacle course, I was told that I could leave after 5 minutes and I left. I debated staying in the waiting room to wait for Daniel but decided against it and went to the elevator and went up to our floor. After twenty minutes the other three joined us and we all sat down on the couch to see the scores. First popped up Katrarina's picture and her score, she got a 9. Malia got a 8, Vincenzo got a 8, Donte got a 10. District 2's tributes went next. Thyra got a 9, Sherron got a 9, Danilo got a 8, Maximo got a 9. I didn't pay attention to the district 3 tributes but they got semi good scores. The district 4 tributes soon came on, Marcie got a 10, Asha got a 10, Jed got a 9, and Mckinley got a 10. Almost all of their tributes got tens so they must have been pretty good.
The rest of the tributes went by quickly the younger ones got lower scores with one kid from district 11 got a 10, she was 12 and I heard that her name was Hui, her female partner got a 5 and the two males got 6's. When our districts tributes came on we were all leaning forward excited to see who got what score, I came up first and I had gotten a 10. Stupid Game makers, they didn't pay attention to me, I deserved a 12. Serene came next and I was shocked by her score, she had gotten a 12. Everyone was congratulating her and applauding her, Jamey came up next and he had gotten a 3, everyone told him that it was a good score. Daniel came on next and he got an 11, I was furious how did those two get higher scores than me! I stormed out of the room and into my own room. Even from my room I could hear all of them congratulating each other and then I heard the stylists come in, there was more congratulating before everyone broke up so that we could get prepared for our interviews. My stylists came in and they sat me down in a chair as they began working on my hair, makeup, nails, and toes. After they had finished with that my stylist Marilo came in and she had a beautiful baby purple dress and some purple heels. I gladly put them on and hoped that Serene didn't look better than me.
