"Wait...you barfed on him?" Kimi asked, I looked at her with a sheepish smile.
"Mom that's gross." Jun said a little disgusted.
"Well I had weak stomach when I was younger." Both of my girls looked at me as if I was a slob.
"Mom you were pretty nasty when you younger." Rolling my eyes, I look up at the clock realizing that it's way past their bedtime I tuck the kids in, planting a kiss on their forehead.
"Goodnight, sweet dreams." I quietly left the room to let the two of them drift off into sleep. I made my way towards my room, preparing myself for bed, I made a quick stop to the bathroom, brushing my teeth and washing my face. I walk over to my bed and open up my laptop, looking at the time it was eleven thirty, I checked if I had any emails or perhaps any messages that were of some importance. I read the screen, all there was were already read messages; Laying back on my on my bed I looked at the empty spot next to me. Just a few more days of waiting I said to myself. Closing my laptop I walked over to the closest, upon opening it, I looked down to see a small green box. With a smile growing on my face I knelt down and picked up the green box; walking back over to my bed I placed the box onto my lap. Once opened, I could see little trinkets of many sort and a few old slips of paper and pictures. This brought back some of my old memories.
Past
Kuki POV
It was another summer day, being woken up by my alarm, I made an attempt to shut off the irritating noise. After a few minutes of failing I decided the only thing I can do is wake and go with my day. Cleaning myself up and putting on a new set of clothes, I walked down stairs to find that no one was home. Looking around I saw that there was a small plate of pancakes and a cup of orange juice. Next to the cup was a small yellow sticky note saying.
Your father and I are out to meet up with one of my clients for a dinner meeting, Mushi is sleeping over one of her friends, there's fifty dollars on the counter, be home by eleven.
'Gee thanks mom.' I thought. So I had the whole day to myself, I checked my phone for any messages or any missed calls from anyone. It said that I missed about two calls and had three messages. Checking my messages first I looked to see that one was from Mushi and the other two were from Wally. Checking Mushi's message first, I looked to see that it was only a reminder that she was at friends house. Taking my attention towards Wally's message.
Hey Kuki you wanna go to the movies with Abbey, Hoagie and me?
Well since I had nothing better to do today and since it's summer, I responded to the message saying.
Yeah, Ok.
After a couple of seconds of waiting a small 'beep' was heard from my phone.
Great meet at the club room.
I went back up to my room to find something to wear. Putting on a set of brand new clothes, I made my way out of the house and made my way towards to club room. I walked through crowds of people as I got nearer to the clubhouse, but as I was walking I bumped into someone.
"Oh sorry." I looked up to see a the person in front of me wearing a pair of black shades wearing a old fashion pilot jacket.
"No problem there...hey aren't you that girl from the pool." Getting a better look at the one I bumped into, I realized it was the same guy from the pool. 'It's Ace...Wally wanted me stay away from this guy'
"Who me...uh nope sorry..haven't been to any pools recently nope."
"Are you sure because I don't think I can forget a face like yours." I tried my best to change the subject and to move on.
"Uh... um thanks that's very... kind of you um." Taking a few steps closer to me, he pulled up his glasses.
"Come on sweetheart why we... go and have some fun hmm?" I started to feel nervous 'Oh crap um uh think Sanban think... Oh ! I got it!'
"Hey are you al..."
"Oh god! I got to take a crap!" I said interrupting him. "Sorry gotta go!" That said I made a sprint down the sidewalk. I kept on running until I finally made it to the club house. Out of breath I stopped in front of the door gasping for air. "Huugh I huugh made it!" I knocked the wooden door, I was greeted by a pair of yellow goggled eyes.
"Password."
"Just please open the door Hoagie!"
"Aww come on you never let me do this!" I heard a loud smack coming from the other side.
"For the love of let the girl inside already or Abby's going to give the you the biggest whooping of your life."
"Alright alright sheesh." Hearing the door unlock I took a few steps back. I was greeted by Wally, Abby and Hoagi.
"You ok girl?"
"Yeah Kooks it looks like you ran a marathon." I wondered if I should tell them about that Ace guy, but I decided I didn't want them to be worried.
"Oh I just... took a shower yeah a shower guess I'm still a bit wet." I gave them a small smile followed up by a giggle to make it sound believable.
"Well alright then let's get going!" The four of us walked towards the movie theater in town. Walking inside the smell of popcorn and candy filled my nose. I've only came to the movies with my family which was literally once a year when mom was free. Looking around we search for a movie to watch.
"Hey how about the new Super shooter explosion of the third aftershock five?" Suggested Hoagie. Wally and Abby shrugged not really caring about which movie it was.
"What about the Rainbow monkey movie the adventure to happy huggy, happy, friend town." I suggested. All three of them made a yakking noise.
"No offence girl, but Abby ain't into that kind of... uh."
"Sappy." Hoagie added.
"Yeah thanks sugar, I think I'll take the poorly acted movie over the happy happy hug time." She and Hoagie walked up to the ticket booth to get their tickets. I had a sad look on my face disappointed, I never really like violent movies that much it was too loud and people were always dying and screaming. I notice Wally was looking at me, he let out a long sigh and walked up to the ticket booth.
"Two tickets to the... Rainbow monkey movie the... adventure to sappy land." I looked at him with wide eyes.
"Wally?" Turning around he gave me a meek smile.
"Since I bought the tickets you can buy the snacks." I followed Wally inside.
"Dude what gives you guys are going to watch the sappy?"
"Ah Shut up." Shrugging his shoulders Hoagie and Abby left to watch their movie. After buying our snacks we to made our way towards the theater room.
"Nine, eight, and seven here it is." We saw that there was hardly anyone inside a family or two, but that was it. We took our seats at the middle back row, Wally had a bored expression on his face which made me kind of feel bad.
"Sorry Wally." I whispered. Looking back me he shrugged his shoulders.
"Meh you looked like you really wanted to watch this sappy." I was about to say more, but the movie started. Half way through the movie I found myself entranced by the film. I suddenly felt something heavy fall on my shoulder. Looking I saw Wally's head resting on my shoulder, he fell asleep. My face started to heat up again and my stomach began to feel funny again. His face looked so calm. 'I'm having that feeling again!' I said in my head. I made an attempt to move his head aside, but his head was heavier than I expected! After a few minutes I gave up letting out a sigh I looked back at his face.
"Hmm you look so... innocent." A small smile appeared on my face. Without even knowing I started to lower my head onto to his. I leaned my head to his ear so I could whisper something. "Thank you Wally." This caused him to stir, but he became still. I continued to watch the movie with the sleeping Wally.
Present
I let out a sigh as I looked back down at the tickets. These tickets may seem like a simple slab of paper to most, but to me they were a reminder. A reminder of the first day when I started to fall in love with someone.
