The car ride was quiet, both Alex and Derek were trying to assimilate that Derek almost die. Neither of them knew how to break the silence.

"Derek you need to be more careful. You almost die today," said Alex quietly looking out the window

"I'm always careful, Alex is not my fault that Kate is trigger happy," said Derek sounding mad while alternating looking at Alex and the road.

"I'm fucking killing that bitch, God I hate her" said Alex more to herself but Derek heard her.

"No you are not, you are not a killer Alex. Kate is going to pay for what she did but not by your hand." Said Derek looking at Alex. Alex looked at him mad she was going to said something but she decide to stay quiet, she did not wanted to fight right know with him.

They got to her house, Derek parked the car in the garage that was when he notice that the window of his car was fix and use that to not talk about what happen with Kate.

"What happen to the broken window?" ask Derek staring at Alex

"I went and got it fix, and yes I drove your precious car, and as you can see its fine" Alex answer tiredly, she really did not wanted to fight with him. Alex felt like she had aged a couple of years after today. All the emotions that Alex had been try to keep in check were starting to come out.

"When?" ask Derek

"Yesterday, can we talk about the important thing here, you can yell at me later about your car, you almost die Derek" said Alex mad, but trying to stay calm. She knew that he was evading the topic of him almost dying.

"What do you want me to say Alex, Yeah I almost die but that is what happen when you are a werewolf and there are hunters in town" yell Derek. He was pissed off, he did not wanted to talk about it, she must know that he change the topic for a reason.

"Fuck you, I just want to talk about it Derek you don't need to yell at me at be an ass about it" said Alex walking toward her room. Alex knew she was about to start to cry again and she did not wanted to cry in front of Derek. Alex knew that she was acting crazy but her emotions were out of control.

"Alex, Alex" said Derek while he try to stop her from walking toward her room, he saw her face before she turn around. Since Alex did not stop he did the thing that she hated the most "Alexandra Marie Rivera Stop"

When Alex heard that Derek use her whole name she stop turn around and stared at him.

"What Derek, are you going to tell me that I need to get the idea that you may die and be fine with it. Well sorry but I can't ok, I'm never going to be fine with it" said Alex crying she knew she was being irrational but her emotions were all over the place and she could not understand why. Alex had been doing so well before controlling her emotions after she broke down before.

"No, I was going to say I'm sorry. Alex just... we deal with thing differently, you need to talk about what happen while I usually just sulk, I'm just not much of a talker anymore Kitten" said Derek while he went to her and hug her which made her cry harder. "Alex this is not only about me dying what is going on, yes you are emotional but not like this. What's wrong?"

"Everyone keeps leaving Derek..." was the only thing that Alex could get out; it all hit her at once, she was remembering Derek family dying, Laura and him leaving, her dad dying and her mom abandoning her after Alex's dad die. She tries to stop crying but she just cried harder.

"Kitten you need to calm down you are crying too much you are going to make yourself sick" after hearing Derek said this she cry harder, Derek could not understand what was happening she was fine before or so he thought. Derek was starting to get worried she was not calming down "Alex just breath, honey you need to calm down"

When Derek saw that she was not calming down, he just pick her up bridal style and walked toward Alex's room sat down on the bed with Alex on his lap. While sitting there he said nothing more, he just lets her cry when she calm down he would get the story out of her. Derek just keep hugging her and rubbing her back until she calm down, when she did, before Derek could ask again what was wrong Alex started to talk.

"You know that my parent didn't get along, they were always fighting all the time, after you guy left because of what happen in the fire... Thing got worst after that, it was like neither mom or dad cared anymore if I heard them fighting. It was too much for me, I sort of shut down completely, I loved your family and my parent fighting all the time and well you guys leaving did not help the situation." Alex just took a deep breath she was still crying but not as hysterical as she was before while talking she had grab Derek's hand she was playing with his finger trying to stay calm.

" Your dad never said anything when we called the first time, he just said that he was going to see if you wanted to talk to us" said Derek looking at Alex, but Alex did not heard him she was like in a trance she just keep talking.

"Because I was not eating, talking or even getting out of my room they fought even more dad was worried and mom acted like she did not care what happen to me. Dad took me to a Doctor and he told dad that it was normal in my situation I had lost a lot of people that I loved and that I was just processing, the doctor never mention that my parent were not helping the situation by fighting so much. But even after the talk with the doctor dad was worried, but then you guys started to call and I got better with every call you and Laura made. Think got better for a while... But then mom and dad got into a big fight I never knew what about... dad left that day and never came back, that was the day he got into the accident and died. This time it was mom the one that shut down she did not eat, sleep, she didn't even went to work I had to do everything... And then one day she just told me that she could stay, that she needed to get away so she took a job that would make her travel, that was the last time I talked to her in face to face. I guess that it hit me that if I lose you I'm going to be alone again" said Alex trying to get it all out, she had not told anyone not even Derek about her mother, everyone just assumed that her mom came and went.

"Why didn't you tell me about your mom Alex, Laura and I would had come and help you out" said Derek not understanding why she did not said anything, he just thought that her mom and her talk on the phone when he was not around after all Alex's mom did really hated him.

"You both said that you did not wanted to come back here Derek, that there were too many bad memories, I'm wasn't your guys responsibility" said Alex not looking at Derek

"Wait, how long have you been living on your own Alex" ask Derek

"It doesn't matter Derek, I wasn't cry because of mom. It was probably that I did not have time to morn dad death before; I had to take care of mom. Today I felt like once I started to cry I couldn't stop, I'm so sorry that you had to see my emotional breakdown" said Alex, after crying and talking she felt better it was like a weight was off her shoulder.

"Alex you dad died two of years ago, why haven't you cry before? And I think this has everything to do with your mom leaving you Alex" said Derek still not understanding what the hell happen with Alex family, he knew they were not the most united family but still, Alex's mom leaving her was just wrong.

"Derek I did not had time for that, I have to take care of the house with the money that mom send, I have to lie to pretty much to everyone about were my mom is and how long she has been away. I had to go to school, do homework, and honestly before today, I had no reason to cry and seriously mom is a really hard topic to talk about, she just left me Derek just like that, and she never looked back so I need more time before I can talked to you about that " said Alex looking at Derek, then she gave him a sad smile and said in a whisper."By the way how many time did you call me Kitten... that is the only nickname that I have liked"

"A couple of times, but I think every time I call you Kitten you cried even harder," said Derek looking at Alex, asking with his eye why was that.

"Probably because only you and dad call me that. It has been a while since you call me that. It just reminded me when I was younger and dad tried to make me feel better," said Alex still smiling sadly. Alex was really tired, she was mentally and physically exhausted. Alex started to get comfortable on Derek's lap she felt save there, she did not wanted to move even though she knew she had to.

"Alex don't get too comfortable, you and I both need a shower and then we can cuddle in bed ok" said Derek. He could see how exhausted Alex was, but both of them smell like death. So he took Alex to the bathroom and sat her down in the toilet then turn the shower on warm water.

"Derek, I can do the rest don't worried about me I'm fine now, I think I just needed to cry and talk," said Alex while standing up so she could go and get her clothes but Derek stop her.

"Get into the shower I will get your clothes," said Derek while signaling to her to get going.

While Derek went to get Alex clothes, she got into the shower, the water felt so good, she did not wanted to get out half way to her shower Alex heard Derek opening the door telling her that her clothes were on top of the toilet. Alex heard when Derek got out of the bathroom. She tries to hurry up since she knew that he needed to shower too. Alex got out of the shower, dry herself, and put on her PJ, which consisted of a tank top and short. Alex went to her room.

"The bathroom is all yours" said Alex when she saw Derek sitting on her bed. Derek got up and went to the bathroom. Alex when toward her bed and decide to lay on Derek side it smell like him. While laying in bed, she started thinking about her emotional breakdown, she was so embarrassed. Alex heated showing emotion, emotion meant that you were weak or so her mom told her before she left, especially when Alex beg her mom not to leave her. Alex's mom answer to her daughter begging was to tell her that she was pathetic and weak. After that, Alex tried to keep her emotions in check.

"I guess that why my emotions are so out of control today" Alex said to herself. Alex started to get comfortable in her bed and before long she fell asleep. By the time, that Derek was done with his shower he had to wake her up.

"Alex, Alex wake up I can't get to bed you are on my side of the bed Alex" said Derek trying to get Alex to move but she did not even reacted when he pick her up and put her on her side of the bed. After Derek got into the bed, Alex moved so that she was almost on top of Derek. It seems that even asleep she wanted to be close to him.

AN: Like I mention before here is a little of background story to Alex, there is more but I'm still developing that part, I'm alredy working on chapter 11 specially now that I'm done with school until January. Like I have ask a million times before please review so that I know what people is thinking of my story, if there is something that you want to be part of the story ( I can see if it possible to add that), to know what you hate or like.
