Chapter 10

Thanks for all the comments, they made me smile. :)

Sorry for any mistakes. All errors are mine.

Just like in NewYork Miranda didn't have to queue or wait for anything. Her car was there to greet her when she stepped out of the hotel, the door was opened for her when she was ready to enter and exit the car and she simply past the entire row of tourists who were waiting to ride on the eye just like herself.

Sometimes she couldn't help but love her life. Of course she had to work very hard for everything she has got but, these privilege's come with hard work.

One thing she did miss though was the normal life- well only occasionally. Like being able to walk the street without people staring at her, people whispering behind her back about whether she really was the Miranda Priestly and if she really was a dragon lady. Having camera's flashing in her face every time she went to any form of event.

She couldn't even take her daughters out for a meal with out people trying to interrupt her and get her attention. So literally being in her own little bubble, high up in the sky was a new and thrilling experience for Miranda.

Being the woman she was, she was able to get herself and Andrea their own little pod to themselves, with no tourists, no guides, no one, just her and Andrea.

Looking out over her city, she forgot how beautiful it actually was. Of course many things had changed since she had lived here all those years ago. Many tall, big, busy buildings had been erected and some were still in the process of being erected. But the look of the river flowing right through the middle of her home city was a beautiful sight.

If she looked close enough she could see small dots of passers by going about their business through out the city and many red rooves driving around the mad city taking tourists and regulars to their destination of choice.

It was very strange for her to be back in London with out being here for business. There was no fashion shows to attend, no meetings, no meals, no tedious reporters shoving microphones and cameras in her face trying to get the first scoop on the new seasons fashion and how she feels the season will pan out.

Yes this was a very different experience for her indeed.

The whole time Miranda was in a world of her own Andrea stood there. Simply standing, watching Miranda gaze out of the glass pod. For a tiny second Andrea would have loved nothing more than to know what was going through the Editors mind.

Knowing her history, of course Andrea understood that this must be a very surreal situation for Miranda to be in. She could see in her face that with out the distraction of work Miranda was allowing herself to think. What about? Andrea didn't know, but by the look on her companions face she was unearthing memories and thoughts she hadn't thought about for a long time.

This wouldn't do, they had come here to take a break, to get away from their lives for awhile. She couldn't have Miranda slipping out of one life and slowly into another. So, with a gentle hand on her back Andrea stepped next to Miranda and smiled. Miranda met Andrea's smile with her own.

" I didn't know England could be so beautiful." Andrea said trying to distract the older woman.

" Mmm, neither did i Andrea. I forgot how beautiful this country could be. Of course it's changed a lot but, by the looks of it, for the better. I mean look at that building over there. How beautiful, pure glass."

Turning to the younger woman next to her Miranda gave a small sad smile. " you know, sometimes i forget. I forget that this is my country, that i was born here. I was born in this city."

"I have fought so hard to make NewYork my home that i forget that for part of my life this was my home too. I Grew up here, my mother and father lived here. My whole family was brought up with in this very city. And i forgot Andrea, i forgot where i came from because of the horrible things that happened to me here."

"Never forget where you come from Andrea because it is extremely important. No matter how famous or wealthy or well known you become, never forget, because one day when you meet some one or you have children of your own you will have to tell them about your life before them, about your history, where you came from, your roots."

" That's very important because one day your life is going to become someone else's too and to be able to share yourself with a person wholeheartedly is a beautiful thing to be able to do."

" God, my children don't even know where i come from. I have never told them, i have kept that part of my life out of the press and away from every one for so many years."

"Andrea as i said to you before, i have only ever told you about my past, i don't think i have ever trusted a person enough to tell them. Everyone is always out to get something from me Andrea, they all want a piece of Miranda Priestly, The Dragon lady. But you? You just needed me, you needed me to look after you, you needed me to be able to sit there and listen to you, to stay up with you while you had bad dreams."

" I had none of that Andrea, none at all. Well until i told you that is. You see Andrea, while you are still healing from the horrible things that happened to you, i am too."

"Finally allowing myself to speak about such a situation has made me open old wounds. And while it hurts it is giving my a chance to finally lay my past to rest. I am finally letting myself heal. I was in pain for many years Andrea, i still am, but think whole experience has helped me, you have helped me."

" I made myself forget because i had no one to help me get rid of my deamons."

" It's funny ,they say that when something is really painful your brain blocks it out to avoid pain and that's what i think i did. I blocked it out because it hurt too much, i made myself forget, forget things that i shouldn't have done."

" Things that i should be proud to tell people, like where i am from, how i started off my career. That i had to climb the ranks just like everyone else; that i didn't get my job handed to me on a plate."

With a long puff of air being released into their private little pod Miranda nodded and finished of talking.

" Promise me you wont forget Andrea, have someone to talk to, have someone to tell all your fears and hopes too. Surround yourself with people who make you smile and who makes you happy. Promise me Andrea.

With a nod and a smile Andrea replied.

"I promise Miranda, but don't you see?"

A look of confusion etched it's way onto Miranda's face.

" see what?"

With a smile Andrea finished their conversation.

" i already have someone to talk to, talk to about everything now, a person who makes me smile. Who makes me happy. She's standing right in front of me."

A beautiful smile stretched across Miranda's face and she pulled Andrea into a sideways hug and turned them both to look out of the glass.

" you see that Andrea? That's the Palace."
