Chapter 10: Permanently.

Silence. Absolut silence, just them and the sound of wind and paper rustling. No one dared to speak not wanting to end the tense but tranquil atmosphere. Even the rain had decided to stop pouring down when they sat face to face glaring at the books in their hands.

This was one of the special times when the supposed couple weren't arguing, bickering and all round chewing the other's head off. Nanako was beginning to wonder if any of this was worth it anymore, could she maybe have found some one more compatible with herself, someone who shared the same interests as her.

No Nanako had to have him, he was different like her, he had violet eyes while she had green, he had blond hair while she had auburn hair, both uncommon in Japan, even though she was a pure blood and even though he wasn't she was willing to make that sacrifice.

She pondered if now was a good time to start her master plan and one quick glance at the boy in front of her made her almost certain. She slammed her book shut earning the attention she wanted.

Tamaki looked up at Nanako an irritated scowl on his face. "What is it?"

Nanako blinked innocently and smiled. "I have something to tell you." She purred.

"Nanako if this is more of you gossip I don't want to hear it." Tamaki turned back to his book and if glares could set things alight this book would be up in flames before you could even muster a word.

She laughed as if he hadn't just blown her of and continued. "Even if it were about your dear Haruhi?" She teased and she saw Tamaki tense up just from hearing her name. She knew exactly how to play with him twist him around her fingers without a second thought. Slowly he lifted his gaze from the book to look her straight in the eye.

But either she ignored it or just didn't see and look up at the celling to hide her devilish smirk. "The rumours have been all over school and that's the reason people have been throwing you look's." She pondered for a moment. "But you don't care. Gossip isn't your thing I've heard." She said as she looked at him with a coy smile and tilted her head to the side cockily.

Tamaki practically growled in which Nanako defiantly did not miss. "What is it?"

"Oh, taken an interest have we?"

"Just tell me, or so help me-"

"Whatever" She cut him off. "There just empty threats." She laughed amused that he would pull such a feeble stunt. "But I'll tell you any way." She waited a moment just to gain tension. "Apparently Haruhi is dating someone."

Tamaki's face changed to one of hurt and confusion then back to one of stone. "Who?" He muttered through clenched teeth. Who that was the question, who had taken his precious one.

"Why such an interest all of a sudden, Dear?"

"Just tell me damn." He forced out raising his voice because of the pure rage the woman was inflicting on him. He stood up and grabbed her wrist tightly almost certain that if he had her in his grip she would be forced to tell him everything and he asked once more. "Who?"

Nanako gasped as she felt the cold hand grip her wrist tightly and it constricted her breathing as if it were clutching at her lungs. She looked up to see balls of fire dancing around in the boys eyes, such animosity that made her fear for her life. Eyes widened she answered simply.

"Hikaru."

"Fuck-!" he cut himself of before any of the maids around heard him and glared at Nanako and almost as if her were contradicting his self he straightened up released his grip and smiled. "Thank you."

And then he left.

Nanako looked around the room to see all the maids staring at her with pity for their master. She huffed they'd understand soon enough. She knew they would. But she shouldn't even be worried about what they think she had to go onto step 2 now. Telling the grandmother.

She strolled down the heavily lit hall ways it was finally time to send the filthy commoner away. For her and Tamaki's own good. She had, had doubts before but with a little time persuading herself it was right she came to the conclusion that it was for the best. Ye it was.

Reaching the office of the old hag she placed her hand on the cool surface of the door handle. It was like an ice cube and she was sure when she entered she would truly be in Antarctica.

She pushed the door open fast enough to see the old woman's head lift from whatever important document she had been looking over. She put on a breathless act so it looked like whatever she had to say was important.

"What is this? Have you no manners?" The woman asked coldly eyes narrowing at the breathless girl.

"Sorry..." She took in a sharp intake of air. "I have some shocking news."

"What." Souh almost snapped. What could be so important that she had to come bursting in like an absolute fool.

"Well I was at school when a girl approached me," She started, and even though it was a lie she couldn't say she dragged a girl to the bathroom, for fear she would be booted out. "And I was told something very interesting…" She took a seat and looked at the woman asking to continue.

"Yes. And?"

"Well it's about Haruhi…" The woman nodded. "She pregnant."

"Ah always knew something like that would happen to her, stupid commoners." The woman sighed looking back to her paper. "I don't know how this is so important to me."

"Well its Tamaki's baby."

"What!" The woman shot up like a bullet and pointed at Nanako. "When did you here this."

Nanako stuttered affected by the souh's shouting "This a-afternoon m-ma'am"

She sat back down calming herself so she could speak more firmly and with more clarity instead of speaking with a voice clouded with rage. "Ok, and what do you propose we do?"

"Send her away." Nanako said simply and firmly eyes alight with determination, this was going exactly her way. Ha. Ye it was.

"Oh Haruhi!" Haruhi was currently snuggled up in bed and as she cracked her eye open to check the time she realised that she had another half hour before she had to get up.

"What dad!" She shouted back, voice slightly muffled by her futon. Her dad cam skipping into her room drag queen mode in full swing, she had no idea why because her father was always grumpy in the morning.

Slowly lifting her head from her pillow to sit up she rubbed the sleepiness away from her eyes. It didn't really help.

"I got I letter from school!" he exclaimed waving it around her face obscuring her view as she saw flashes' of white. "Oh I bet it about you outstanding behaviour, or maybe you're top of the class again! Oh but it for you." He shoved the letter into her hand and clapped his hand together. "Open it, Open it." Haruhi stared at it for a moment having a funny felling in her tummy. "Go on!"

"Ye, ye." She mutter opening the letter with the letter opener on her bed side table. Pulling out the letter she put the opener and envelope away before unfolding the paper. She read over it, once, and twice a look of confusion on her face. She re-read the last sentence.

'You are therefore excluded from the school. Permanently.'

The paper slowly slipped from her hands and flutter to the floor tears stinging at her eyes.

"What did it say?" The happy expression draining from his face as he saw his daughter's facial expression. He bent down to pick up the paper standing up straight. As he read his face became sullen and he looked her in the eye pain painted all over his face as he said the word.

"Permanently?"

Haruhi stared straight back into her father's eyes tears falling shamelessly from her eyes as she nodded.

'Permanently'
