The Turnabout of Good or Evil

Chapter Nine:

Dog's past

Apollo collapsed on the sofa, at the Wright and Co Law Agency.

He sighed and pinched his forehead.

"Ah...

I'm glad that was all over...

For now..."

Athena is looking through the Mood Matrix on Widget, whilst Juniper is feeding Trevor some feed.

"I know, right?" Athena asked.

"I didn't even know Widget could read animal thoughts!"

Juniper came over, with Trevor in her hands, which the said gerbil is eating another nut.

"There you go..." cooed Juniper, putting Trevor back into his cage.

"Thanks, flower girl!" cried Widget, softly.

Apollo looked at the gerbil, and smiled.

"I guess I was right about that..." he murmured, slightly proud.

"But to think, a gerbil managed to prove a whole testimony wrong..."

Juniper grinned, cutely.

"The world works in strange ways, doesn't it?"

Apollo nodded, and watch Trevor do his stuff.

The gerbil, once back in his cage, went to a corner, and begin to scratch it, vigorously.

Then Trevor went to chew on some loo roll tubes, to make some of his bedding.

He moved the chewed bits into his bed.

Once that was done, the gerbil went to run on his wheel.

"Cute little thing, isn't he?" asked Athena, looking at Trevor doing his stuff.

"Wish I had a pet when I was younger..."

"You never had a pet?" asked Apollo.

Athena shook her head.

"Nah. My mum said it would make the robots go crazy, thinking the animal were pests.

Besides, Aura didn't like animals, even Taka."

Athena smiled at a memory.

"I remember that Simon helped me pull a prank on Aura. We put some live mice in her gloves when she wasn't looking and she freaked out when she put her gloves on."

Juniper giggled at that, whilst Apollo raised an eyebrow.

Some chewing from Trevor is heard.

"Simon helped you pulled a prank? He doesn't seem the type of guy to do that..."

Athena just smirked.

"Chew, chew the nuts, then go on the wheel~!" sang Widget, quietly.

Athena picked up Widget, then looked at Apollo and Juniper.

"Should we ask Trevor about what happened to him?"

Apollo nodded, as well as Juniper.

"I believe Juniper should ask Trevor the questions." stated Apollo, folding his arms.

Juniper became confused.

"Why me?"

"Well, I think Trevor seems to like you." replied Apollo, smiling confidently.

"You're gentle and kind, and when I tried to pick him up earlier, well, he bit me."

Juniper blushed, doing her knitted thing.

"Ok..." she went, blushing.

"I'll do it..."

Athena smiled again.

She then placed Widget on the table, next to Trevor's cage.

The signal between Trevor and Widget is stronger now.

Juniper leant forward, in a graceful manner.

Apollo grabbed his notebook, to note what Trevor has to say.

"Hello, Trevor." smiled Juniper.

The gerbil stopped, and stood on two feet.

He looked up at Juniper.

"Flower Girl!" exclaimed Trevor, through translation by Widget.

"I like you! Are you going to give me a nut?"

Juniper shook her head.

"No, I want to ask you something."

"AHHH!" yelled Trevor, shocked.

"You can understand me?! Master never understands me!"

Trevor ran around in circles, in happiness.

"Yay! Happy days, happy days! You took my sin away..."

Juniper pointed at Widget.

"We're able to understand you through this, Trevor."

Trevor crawled over to have a look at Widget.

"...Can I eat it?"

"No, you can't, Trevor."

"...Aww..."

Trevor went to run on his wheel.

"I want to go back to the pet shop. I want to see Helen..."

"Wait, who's Helen?" questioned Athena, curiously.

"Dog's, well, pet dog..." went a disheartened Apollo, handing a photo of the said dog.

Athena looked at the photo, then nodded.

"Flower girl!" exclaimed Trevor, again.

"I want to eat the seeds of your flower! They look yummy!"

Juniper smiled.

"Trevor, may I ask you something?"

"I'm Trevor the gerbil!

I'm a gerbil who belongs to Master, and friends with Helen!

I like the colour orange and like eating!

I like to talk with Helen and watch people go and by in Master's home!

I bit people I don't like or scare me!

It's ever so fun!

Yay!"

Athena looked slightly disheartened.

"Right..."

"Trevor, do you remember Trucy?" asked Juniper, trying to get at the case at hand.

"You mean blue girl?" questioned Trevor, angrily.

"Yes, I do! She almost killed me with that big bottom of hers!

I don't like her!"

Trevor scratched his cage in frustration.

"If she weren't fifty times bigger than me, I would chew her hands off!"

"Looks like someone's moody..." thought Apollo.

"Trevor, can I ask you something again!"

"Sure, anything for you, flower girl!

You're my saviour!

Like that Jesus guy, to Master!"

"How did you get outside two nights ago?"

Trevor stood slightly, then looked at Juniper.

"To be frank, flower girl, I have no clue." he stated, in a honest way.

"Pardon?" asked Athena, leaning forward.

Trevor went to scratch something.

"I think I was sleeping at the time." he confirmed, still scratching.

"I was having a dream about nuts and seeds, when I awoke to my cage being open suddenly."

Juniper blinked, whilst Apollo went to write it down.

"Master usually does it gently, so I was quite surprised by the loud noise." continued Trevor.

"Next thing I know, the person who opened the cage grabbed me."

"Did you know who the person was?" questioned Juniper, curiously.

"No, I did not. It was a different smell to me." affirmed Trevor, scratching away.

"I would know if it was Master.

He lets me out and into the plastic ball a lot, while he replaces my feed or I want a run around. It's fun!"

Juniper nodded, then looked away to comfier.

"So it wasn't Dog..."

She looked back at Trevor.

"Was it Maxie?"

"Who?"

"Um, your Master's friend? He stayed with him for a few months."

"If you mean Banks, Master's friend, then no." affirmed Trevor.

"He's held me a few times, and I know his smell.

It was a new smell, like no other before."

"I know what it sounds strange to ask this..." stated Juniper, looking at the other two.

"But what did it smell like?"

"Smelt of birds."

"Smelled like birds?"

"Yes, madam, indeed. I can tell the gender of the person by their smell.

This person was a female."

Apollo noted this down in the Court Record.

Info of Trevor's kidnapper added to the Court Record.

"So, what happened after that?" queried Juniper, pressing on.

"The person took me outside, where it was cold. I bit the person to let me go." continued Trevor, slightly annoyed.

"She ditched me on the dirt, and I was stuck there for a while.

I built myself a little den to hid out.

I fell asleep later on.

When I woke up, I remember to waking to a bang, then another.

I crawled out to see what was going on, when I was almost sat upon by Blue Girl's big bottom!

I was so annoyed that I bit her.

She turned to me with an angry look, then looked at something."

"That was probably the killer fleeing." stated Apollo, making the other nod.

Juniper went to Trevor:

"Did you see anything else?"

"I saw Helen." affirmed Trevor, scratching again.

"There was a window above where Blue Girl was sitting, and I saw Helen barking at something."

Athena sat back.

"Does this mean that dog saw the killer?"

"Well, two loud bangs might cause her to bark at the source." said Apollo.

"I would look at where two loud bangs were if they went off near me."

"I saw something else." shivered Trevor, scared.

"What is it, Trevor?" asked Juniper, nicely.

"I don't want to say. It scared me."

"Don't worry, it wouldn't get you."

"Are you sure, flower girl?"

Juniper nodded.

"I'm sure." stated Juniper.

"What did you see?"

"I saw an angel of death." affirmed Trevor.

Shivers ran down Apollo's spine.

"What do you mean?"

"I saw a person ran by before I saw Helen." stated Trevor, scared.

"I saw an aura around them, a pair of dark wings were on their back.

It was scary!"

Athena, Apollo and Juniper look at each other.

"Isn't this what Dog said?" asked Apollo, unsure.

"That he saw an angel of death?"

Athena frowned, unsure as well.

"To have two witness describe someone as an angel of death?

This can't be a coincidence!"

Juniper nodded.

"I agree. Do you think the person who kidnapped Trevor is the same person as Dog saw, and the killer who Trucy saw?"

"There's no proof of that." affirmed Apollo, seriously.

"They could be three separate people, after all."

"Can I say something?" asked Trevor.

"I also saw something pretty interesting."

"What is it, Trevor?" asked Juniper.

"That angel of death...

It dropped a black feather."

"A black feather?"

"Yes. That blue girl picked it up after she was talking to herself with that plastic thing."

Apollo nodded.

Trucy had used her phone to call for the police, and afterwards, picked up that feather.

Athena frowned, whilst fiddling with her hair.

"Do you think that's normal that a feather would be there? Trevor could mistake it for a bird to drop it at the time of the murder."

"You're right." stated Juniper, then looked to Trevor.

"Are you sure it came from that angel?"

Trevor ran around on his wheel.

"I'm sure. Helen scares all the birds away so much that they're scared to come by."

Juniper looked at Apollo, who nodded, and jotted it down.

Photo of Helen updated

"Thank you, Trevor." thanked Juniper, smiling.

"You been a good help to us."

"You're welcome, flower girl!" exclaimed Trevor, excitedly.

"Although, I'm not sure what I helped with..."

Juniper handed the gerbil with a nut, which it accepted.

Athena took Widget back and hanged it around her neck.

She stood up and nodded.

"I'm off to investigate!" she smirked.

"I'm gonna see what I can dig up, and try and find Trucy."

Apollo frowned.

"Why Trucy?"

"Trevor said that she picked up a feather from the crime scene, that came off the killer as they fled.

I have a feeling she may still have it."

"That sounds like a good idea." confirmed Apollo, seriously.

"Me and Juniper will go and talk to Dog. We did just find out that my client is a former con artist, after all.

I want to know why he hid it from me."

Juniper nodded in agreement.

"That sounds like a good idea." stated Athena, grinning.

"Shall we meet back here, later?"

"Sounds like a plan."

About half an hour later, Apollo and Juniper are in the Detention Centre, waiting for Dog.

Apollo sat in the speaker's sat, with a serious look on his face.

Juniper is standing by his side.

The door on the other side of the glass clicks, and Dog walks in.

He looks surprised at Apollo, then sits down.

"Mr Justice?" he asked, curiously.

"What are you doing here?"

"I want to talk about today."

"...I see..."

Apollo leaned back.

"I didn't know you were a con artist."

"It's something I don't like talking about." said a dangerous-looking Dog.

"Just get to getting me free."

SLAM!

"That's enough!" yelled Apollo, angrily.

"You hid that from us, you lied about what happened to you that night, and you have the nerve of being a jerk! What's wrong with you?!"

Dog is taken a back, then slumps in depression.

"*Sigh*" he sighs, depressed.

"Sorry, I can't trust people easily. Only people that are close to me are the ones I trust.

"Is this because of you being a con artist?" asked Juniper.

Dog nodded.

"...Yeah..."

He breaths in, then looks at Apollo.

"I'm sorry about what you had to be revealed today. It's just I'm not in the right state of mind at the moment."

Apollo became calm, then spoke.

"It's because of Maxie's murder, isn't it?"

Dog nodded.

"I can't think straight ever since his death..."

An image of Dog and Maxie appeared in Apollo's mind.

It flashed, and changed to him and Clay.

Dog lent forward.

"I'll tell you."

Apollo raised an eyebrow.

"Tell us what?" questioned Juniper, confused.

"I'll tell you both how I met Maxie, how we got into the conning business, about how I met Grace, about our almost arrest, everything you want to know."

Apollo nodded, then smiled.

"That's good to know."

Dog sighed.

"I'll start from the beginning. How I met Maxie."

Dog lent backwards, in reminiscence.

"I first met Maxie when we were nine.

My family were dirt-poor and we lived on hand-outs and stolen goods. I never saw much of my dad, and my mum was quite nasty to me.

Not in physical abuse or didn't feed me, she just put me down with nasty words and such.

She even gave me this stupid name of mine.

I hated it!"

Dog slammed his fist on the chair.

"It wasn't fair for me..."

Dog struggled to keep back tears.

"I met Maxie at the local park.

I was by myself, on the swings, when he came by.

He was lonely as well.

His best friends turned out to be not so 'best' at all, and he was alone.

He only had his dad and his little sister.

He was lonely as me.

We confided in out loneliness and became the best of friends."

Dog looked to the ceiling, with a sad smile on his face.

Apollo just sat there, memories of him and Clay were in his mind.

"We began to grow up together.

We were jealous of other people, who had money to but enough food to eat for days.

We couldn't even buy to survive a day.

Then, one day, when we were eleven, we began to scam other kids out of their money."

Juniper looked at Apollo, who was staring intently at Dog.

Juniper turned to Dog.

"So, that's how the conning started?"

Dog nodded, silently.

Then he continued.

"We started out small.

We agreed that we get enough money to last us a day.

That changed to a week, and finally a month.

We would con people out of their money so we could live to see another day.

I was the dealer and Maxie was the banker.

He studied maths greatly at school, while I took social studies, so I can talk people out of their money.

I conned people out of a lot of money.

I had to remember who face's I had to see, just in case a officer came and arrested me."

"And they did, didn't they?" asked Apollo, frowning.

Dog nodded.

"They called me scum, a worthless excuse of a person. They said that I was taking money away from the good-hard working people everywhere, from the manufactures who made the real product of the fake I was selling, to the tax payer, the ones that were paying the price of fake products."

Dog growled.

"To be honest, we didn't care.

There might have been some truth in their words, but that not it.

There are business who charge a lot of money for things that can be produced cheaply, the most senior bankers giving themselves massive bonus, gas companies charging way too much to their customers, draining our economy out and no one seems to give a toss about them.

All what me and Maxie were doing was trying to get by, to live another day, and all suddenly, we're treated like filth, that we shouldn't be doing this!

I may be lying to people to get their money, and that's bad, but there are a lot more worse people than I out there doing worse things.

Even my lawyers think me as scum."

Dog lent back, growling.

"What a true dark age of law we live in...

Where people who try any way to live are treated like the dirt on the earth..."

Apollo frowned sadly.

"I'm sorry to hear that..."

Dog said nothing, but this:

"Me and Maxie lived together and worked together, to live.

We didn't care what we did.

We had a true friendship, and we stick together through thick and thin.

We were childhood friends, after all."

Juniper smiled at the memories of her and Athena.

Dog chuckled slightly.

Apollo raised an eyebrow.

"What's funny?"

"I was just remembering a moment between me and Maxie when we were younger..."

"Hey, Dog!" yelled a young Maxie, at the play-park they were at.

A young Dog is waiting for his friend, at the usually place, the swings.

"Max!" called Dog, nicknaming his friend, running over.

"Look at I got!" boasted Maxie, puffing out his chest.

Maxie gave Dog a picture of a puppy.

Maxie knew his friend is obsessed with dogs, even puppies

"EEEE!" squealed Dog, excitedly.

"It's so cute!"

Maxie grinned toothily

"I know, right!"

Dog look up, happy.

"I want one so badly!"

Dog span around, happiness.

"When I grow up, I want to own the best pet shop in the world! I want to have all sorts of animals in there, even dogs!"

Maxie span around to.

"I want to be the best banker there is! I'll stop anyone going poor again!"

"So they don't have to go through what we had to?"

"Yep!"

The two boys span and giggled.

They crashed on the grass, still laughing.

"Hey, Dog."

"Yeah, Max?"

"Let's make our dreams come true, ok?"

"Ok, then!

I'll help you with your dream, so no one will be unhappy again!"

"...That day, we made a promise." continued Dog, smiling sadly, tears slowly falling down his face.

"We don't want to make people unhappy again."

Dog looked at Apollo and Juniper, who the latter is struggling to keep tears off.

Dog sighed.

"We never conned too much money out.

A dollar or ten can easily be replaced.

However, a broken life cannot be fixed."

Apollo stared at Dog, several memories of Clay and him flashed before him.

A single tear fell down his face.

"After that...'incident'..." started Dog, looking away, bitterly.

"I came to L.A, to start a new. I wanted to achieve my dream of my pet-shop.

It was going so well.

Maxie told me he was doing so well in his job, that a few days before he had to come here, he told me he was getting a promotion, to a higher up in the world of banking.

We were getting closer to out dream, to make this world a better place.

But, then..."

"This whole incident occurred?" asked Juniper.

Dog nodded.

"Yes. Maxie had to hide, and he posed here as one of my staff.

It didn't matter. We planed to create Maxie a new identity, with the profit of my shop and such.

Then, two nights ago..."

Dog looked the two.

"Our dream shattered, and I was arrested for his killing."

Dog's fingers, on both hands, slowly curled up, and he slammed both of them onto the window, tears flowing down rapidly.

"DAMN IT! IT'S NOT FAAAAIIIIR!"

Juniper jumped back in shock, surprised at Dog's out burst.

Apollo looked down, trying to keep himself together.

"Why did they arrest me?!" sobbed Dog, crying out.

"I didn't kill him! He's my best friend! We didn't do anything hateful!"

Dog slammed the window again.

"It's not fair! Just because I'm a former convict, doesn't mean I'm a murder!

I didn't kill him!"

Dog looked extremely angry.

"Dog, please calm down..." Juniper tried to reason.

"They...*sob* say that the dark age of law...*sob" is over..." cried Dog, bitterly.

Dog slammed the window again.

"That's crap!

It's not over!

It's never started in the first place!

It's always been here!"

Apollo looked up, shocked at what Dog has said.

"What do you mean?"

"It's always been here...

Where people commit crimes to do good things.

Where people like me, trying to live, are treated like scum!

We know it's bad, but the world doesn't make it easy!

If this was a good world, there won't be poverty..."

Dog slammed the window.

"I DIDN'T KILL MY FRIEND! WHY WON'T ANYONE SEE THAT!"

OBJECTION!

Apollo slammed on the window.

"Dog!" he barked, sternly.

"Think about it! Would Maxie like to see you like this?"

Dog blinked, tears flowing down.

He sat down, defeated.

"No..." he went.

"No, he wouldn't..."

Silence went through the room.

"I..." started Apollo, looking at Dog.

"...lost a friend, about a month ago."

Juniper looked at Apollo with wide eyes, shocked at what he said.

"Apollo, are you sure about this?"

Apollo nodded.

"Clay Terran." confirmed Apollo, seriously, with Dog looking at him.

"He was my best friend as well.

I didn't have a mother when I grew up and neither did he.

We dreamed big together."

"..." went Dog, sadly.

"What did you dream about?"

"I wanted to be a lawyer." continued Apollo, a single tear going down his face.

"And he wanted to be an astronaut.

We hanged out at the Space Centre a lot during out school days.

We supported each other, and we were so close to make our dreams fruitful, like, though I'm not a Christian, like how God created the fruits of his labour, the humans.

We created our dreams from nothing."

"...out of the dust of the ground..." murmured Dog, sadly.

"What happened?"

"A rocket was due to launch, but someone bombed the place." said Apollo, gripping his leg, thinking of imposter Bobby Fulbright.

"Clay managed to get his hero, Solomon Starbuck, to safety.

Next thing everyone knew, Clay was dead, murdered."

"..." went Dog.

"A lot of things happened afterwards, friends being pointed as the murder and such.

But during that time, I had my head out the game, that I wanted to find my friend's killer.

I even accused my co-worker of his murder.

My boss sent me straight."

Apollo looked at Dog.

"But, after the trial, I never knew the killer of him.

A spy, a phantom, someone without an identity.

I wanted to meet the man who killed Clay, but I still can't do it.

It's early days, but one day, I'll go and see the real face of the man who killed my best friend."

Apollo blinked.

"I understand your pain of losing a friend.

It sucks.

I don't want to see you sent to prison for Maxie's murder.

It's not fair.

I believe you when you say you didn't kill him."

Apollo slammed the window.

"Dog.

I will find a way to get you free, because you are trying to be forgiven for what happened to Ellen, am I correct?"

Dog nodded.

"Yes."

Dog looked away.

"Do you mind to tell us what happened with Ellen that day?" asked Juniper.

Dog turned back round, a sad look on his face.

"Yes."

He sighed.

"It was an average day on the streets.

It was one of those days where Maxie came and helped me out with the con.

That days, we were selling fake silver cross, which we painted silver paint over some cheap metal.

I was selling out front, when Grace appeared."

"Grace?" asked Juniper.

She turned to Apollo.

"Didn't Grace say she went to Washington, and met Dog there?"

"To think it was the same day as Ellen's heart attack..." mumbled Apollo, thinking.

Dog sighed again.

"Normally, when I was selling goods, I wouldn't care about who brought it.

The thing I cared about was the thought of rich people getting ripped off.

When I saw Grace, I felt something.

All my life, I have felt darkness in my heart, bitter and angry at the world for what it is.

But, when I saw Grace, that darkness faded away.

She was so elegant, so gentle, so beautiful, so...innocent..."

Dog blinked, looking away.

"I felt guilty about ripping her off.

When she left, I chased after here, making an excuse of saying that I accidentally sold her a faulty product, and was willing to pay it back.

She smiled, and she thanked the Lord that I noticed it before she went home with a faulty product."

Dog smiled, at that memory.

"I felt something that I never felt before."

"What was it?" questioned Juniper, Apollo being silent.

"Hope." affirmed Dog.

"I felt hope for the first time in my life. I hoped that I got to see her again, and through that encounter, I began my faith."

Dog blinked again.

"I went back to selling, though the thought of what happened was on my mind.

Me and Maxie then packed up for the day, and we went to our car, when Ellen appeared."

Apollo nodded.

"Then the incident happened?"

"Yes. She managed to pin us to the car, arresting us, doing the usual charges thing.

Back then, I was different, and resisted arrested."

"I think you would of." said Apollo.

"You're right, Mr Justice.

I resisted arrest, and accidentally hit her just above the chest, to the right, I think.

Then, Ellen started to have her heart attack.

Me and Maxie panicked, and fled.

I stopped along the way, to make a phone call to the emergency services.

I felt guilty of running away.

So did Maxie.

We talked, and agreed that we went straight."

"I see..." murmurer Apollo.

"Better note about Dog's phone..."

Dog's Phone Updated

"At that moment of time, I thought Ellen had lived." continued Dog, bitterly.

"I moved to L.A, to set up my shop.

I wanted a peaceful life, and wanted forgiveness for what I did, so I went to attended L.A People's Christian Church.

To be honest, I didn't really expect Grace to be there.

I didn't even know her mother was Ellen until a month ago.

I think it was just fate who brought me here.

I'm met Grant, and we became great friends.

Met Mark and Raz, both of them welcomed me.

Grace happily accepted me into the church.

Lucy just smiled and welcome.

There, at the church, I felt I belonged there, that I had a family.

There I was loved.

I no longer had to fear about not living to the next month, because from what God said: 'But from everlasting to everlasting the lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children.'

I had no longer had my heart filled with darkness, but had a proper father who loved me."

"I think he's referring to God..." thought Apollo, thinking about the church.

"Ah, a bit obvious much..."

"About two years later, after I moved, Maxie asked me to help him hide." finished Dog, bitterly.

"And the rest is history..."

The three sat in silence.

Apollo sighed.

"That's good to know, Dog." he said, with a smile.

"Know I now everything, we might have a better chance to prove you innocent."

Dog nodded.

"Thank you."

Juniper stepped forward.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Did Maxie act all strange during the months staying with you?

I was thinking why Maxie was outside when he was killed."

Dog went to think.

"Well, now that you mentioned it, yes."

Apollo looked startled.

"Pardon?"

"Well," started Dog, looking bashful. "For the first month or so, he acted the way he is. Then after that, he acted weird."

"What do you mean?"

"He got interested in the Church members, as I mean, Grant, Grace, Mark, Lucy and Raz.

He said to me he became suspicious of them."

"But, why?" asked Juniper, confused.

"All of them had something to do with Ellen." affirmed Dog.

"Grant was her best friend, apparently.

Grace and Lucy were her daughters.

Mark was her husband and Raz was her brother.

He said one of them seemed very suspicious to him.

Maxie could tell how someone felt by how they handled money.

Each one of them entered my shop before, and that's when Maxie was working with me."

"W-w-what?" spluttering Apollo, shocked.

"He didn't say who he was suspicious of, and he began to do some investigating into it.

He never really gave me any details about it."

Apollo blinked, then frowned.

"Why didn't you ask why he was investigating?"

"I thought he was messing with me." started Dog, frowning.

"We often mess around with each other.

I didn't really get into what he was researching, but there was a lot of notes, of conversations between him and the other church members."

"What of caused Maxie to do that...?" asked Apollo, to Juniper.

Juniper shook her head.

"Maybe something had happened to make him suspicious?"

"Now when you say it..." started Dog, looking nervous.

"About the same time Maxie started acting weird, I had got a letter."

"A letter?"

"A threatening letter."

"What?!" shouted Apollo, angry.

"What did it say?"

"'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life.'" stated Dog, quoting everything the letter had said.

"'Your judgement day will come and just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgement.'

At first, I thought it was a lot of rubbish.

Maxie took it away, and after that, he began acting strange.

I told Grant about it, but he said just to ignore it."

Apollo nodded.

"I see..."

"There was one last thing, however." affirmed Dog.

"The last part of the letter said 'When your day comes, an angel of death shall take what's precious to you.

Everyone will learn the true person you are, and you shall fall to hell.'"

"That *cough* sounds really *cough* *cough* bad..." coughed Juniper, really nervous and upset, rapidly coughing.

Apollo became startled.

"Juniper, are you all right?!" he went, concerned for Juniper.

"Do you need to get some air?"

"I *cough* think so... *cough* *cough*"

Dog stood up.

"I'm sorry for what I had to say..." he said to both of them.

"But, I think what ever Maxie found out, about who he was suspicious of, and who sent the threatening letter, please find out who it is!"

Apollo nodded, and comforted Juniper, how is having a severe coughing fit.

"Geez..." thought Apollo, dishearteningly.

"Juniper is having it bad...She's coughing like mad..."

"Hey!" called a voice, noting Apollo.

"Come here, there's a sofa to rest!"

Apollo nodded, and put his shoulder around Juniper, and led her to next door, where the sofa sat.

"Juniper." started Apollo, pointing to the sofa.

"Go have some rest, to calm down."

"*cough* Thanks...Apollo...*cough*"

Juniper went over to the sofa, and laid down on it.

She closed her eyes, and became calm.

She went into a peaceful sleep.

Apollo helped her calm down, by stroking her head.

It is something that his adopted parents would do when he was younger, when he was in a panic and need to go to sleep.

Once Juniper's breathing became calm, he sighed.

"Thank you." stated Apollo, to the person who called him.

"I think it would have been a lot worse if it wasn't for you."

"It's looks like you're doing fine."

"How did you-"

"You...it can't be... You're..."

Stood there, with a confident smirk on his face, is Clay Terran, in all glory.

"I'm dead?" he asked, rhetorically.

"Of course am I!"
