Chapter 10 Revelations
Kaito and Kaze made there way to the Mouri detective agency. The young magician fear the worse while Kaze was ready to kill anyone who would dare hurt the walked up the stairwell and opened the door to the detectives office fearing the worse. Only to see a man with tan skin and blonde hair. "Welcome... Something I can help you with." The detective agency is a wreak. One of the couches was tipped over, the window was broken, the shelf tipped over and the man wasn't looking too good.
"Are you alright?" Kaze asked. The tan man was cradling his ribs.
"Yeah, I just got hit with a cheap shot. My name is Tooru Amuro." Tooru introduced himself. "I'm the apperentice of Kogoro Mouri, I took a trip to visit a friend and finally came back. After an hour of coming back I got the chance to talk with Conan, until someone came into the agency.
Flashback (8:00PM)
"So Conan, Where is everyone?" Tooru asked. The detective slash organization member was at the Black organization headquaters giving his reports to the boss. He told the boss about Conan Edogawa, the only thing the boss said was keep an eye on the boy. The idea of recuitment in the organization is to get them young and mold them into the organization fold.
"Oji-san is tailing a man who's cheating on his wife and Ran-neechan is hanging out with Sonoko-neechan, and Masumi-neechan. I was about to go to bed." Conan said. As he was about to head to the second floor to go to the room he and Kogoro shared, someone opened the door. The man was wearing a long black overcoat, black vest, cowboy boots, black pants and a fedora.
'Who's this guy suppose to be?' Amuro wondered. 'An organization wannabe?'
"You, the little shit." He points to Conan. "You're coming with me, you have something my boss want and were going to take it." Conan froze, shocked. The man was blocked by Amuro.
"You're not taking Conan-kun anywhere..." Amuro takes a fighting pose. 'What does the kid have that they want?'
"You, think you can stop me... KEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! I can get away with anything you asshole! I can kill you and torture the brat and I would walk away, clean and-" The twisted smile on his face was wiped off when Amuro kicked him in the face. "You're dead now!" The two engage in a hand to hand fight. Amuro had the upper hand due to his training. As the fight raged on, Conan grabbed his solar powered skateboard with an auxiliary battery that allowed him to use the solar powered skateboard at night. He wasted no time, he jumped through the window, landed on his board and took off with amazing speed.
'Alright, I'll have to buy Conan sometime.' The fight continued for fifteen minutes, the man had enough and pulled a taser out and started to stun Amuro for five seconds.
"I would love to kill you, but my boss wants the kid. But first I'm going to torture him! KEHEHEHEHEHEHE!" The man leaves the stunned Amuro on the ground.
'Damn...' Amuro slowly loses consciousness.
Present time (8:34PM)
"I recovered from the stungun, but I'm still wondering what Conan has that the man's boss wants." Amuro wondered. Kaze answered the question, not knowing that he was a part of a more powerful organization.
"He is a part of a group of people who believe that Conan has something called Pandora. These people think that it can turn someone immortal." Kaze explained. Kaito stared at Kaze, shocked.
'Crap! He doesn't know that he's a part of another organization!' Kaito thought. One of Amuro's eyebrows qurik. Pandora was a cursed treasure that was sealed away and forgotten. The Onyx conglomerate is the only group that would go to any lenght to take 'magicial' gem and artifacts. The black organization had no need and doesn't care for the supernatural. However, if Conan doesn't have this Pandora, then he could be in real danger.
"We have to make sure Conan is safe, let's go!" Amuro yelled. As they made their way to the stairwell they saw a person blocking the stairs. He was in a leather biker suit with the helmet on. Kaze wasted no time and rushed the man, kicking him in the head caused him to fall backwards.
"We can't waste any time here, let's go!" The three get into Amuro's car and drive off. Amuro pulls out his cell phone and calls Conan. but only picks up his voicemail.
"Damnit! For all we know, he could have been captured already!" Amuro growled. Even if he has this 'magicial' stone could heal him, it won't heal his mind. "So what this Pandora?" Amuro asked, he might as well learn about this magic jewel. Kaze explains.
"Pandora is a jewel that has the power to grant immortality to those drink from it's bloody tears. However, the stone has a soul of it's own. This soul has the power to bind her soul to a human. The human becomes known as the vessel, the protector of Pandora and wielder of her powers. It is also said that when the vessel and Pandora's souls become one, they become a god." Kaze explained. Kaito swore in his head, no doubt Bourbon would report this to the Black organization.
"This is insane. A magic gem that cries and grants immortality and godhood to the human who fuses his or her soul to this Pandora." Amuro shook his head in disbelief.
"But these guys are crazy enough to think this Pandora is real!" Kaito exclaimed. "And if it isn't real then Conan-kun is in danger!" This made Amuro agree, if it's not real then Conan is in danger, but if it is real then the boss would like to know about this.
At the moment, Conan was making his escape from the crazed Hyena. the madman had no regards for anyone around him, and to make things worse, another group of people were hunting him. He suspected that it was another person from the onyx conglomerate leading this group. "I have to get out of-" A black 2000 GT drifts from behind a corner and speeds towards Conan. He turns into an alley and manages to avoid someone on a black motorcycle.
'We need to get away!' Pandora yelled. She was right, but how? Suddenly, the skateboards battery dies and Conan starts to lose speed. 'NO! Acusred device, why now!' Pandora groaned. The skateboard stops completely on a bridge. With the bikers closing in and the psychopath Hyena speeding towards him. Conan had no choice, he made his way to the edge of the bridge.
"Can I still drown?" Conan asked.
'I'm not sure... You're not-' Conan takes a breath, jumps over the rail and into the cold water. The current made Conan tumble through the water. The detective deduced that he still needed oxygen and couldn't breath underwater. The ice cold water wasn't helping either, he knew in a matter of minutes that he would start to suffer from hypothermia. 'I can't believe you did that!' He heard Pandora shout.
'So you wanted to say there?' Conan countered. 'Tumbling in a current of water is a hell of a lot better then being in their hands.' The teen turned boy breaks the surface of the water and looks towards the bridge, he could see his pursuers from the distance. 'Let's follow the current, it will take us to Tokyo harbor.' Conan let's the current carry him away. As they float down the river, the cold water started to effect Conan. 'Got to stay awake... Got to stay awake... Got to..." Conan slowly loses consciousness and sinks under.
'Shinichi! Wake up! SHINICHI!' Pandora screamed loudly. Something inside her soul rushed out like a floodgate breaking open. Conan's body disappears in a flash of red light. Conan appears at the Tokyo docks. "What!? But how?" Pandora stared at Shinichi as he slept on his bed in his inner world.
"Amazing, his body is recovering so quickly. It's becoming quicker and quicker everyday, and my- our powers are awakening." She frowned. Shinichi slowly woke up and sees Pandora.
"Pandora, what happened?" Shinichi asked.
"We teleported out of the river and back at the harbor." Pandora explained. "Our powers are becoming stronger everyday, here I'll show you an why." In her right hand was a blue orb, in her left hand was a red orb. "These orbs represent our souls, watch this." Small particles from each orb are leaving the two orbs and merging together into a small purple orb. "These are our souls, they are merging. Once they merge, I can never leave your body and we will become a god." The orbs disappears.
"But I don't want to be a god..." Shinichi looks down. "I just want to be a normal human with no supernatural powers.
"Me too, I want you to live a complete life, not an unending one. I'm sure that Koizumi will find a way to split us." Pandora smiles. "But if she doesn't... I don't mine being with you forever." This shocked Shinichi.
"What!? But what about your brother?" He asked. She frowns.
"It's true, I want to dance a crossed the stars once again with my brother. But my time with you Shinichi has been the greatest, when we started our journey, I was like a child. I was innocent and blissfully unaware of the world." Pandora smiles. "I'm learning so much about the world, humans, devices that humans make, and some detective stuff too!" This made Shinichi smile.
"So you're taking a peek at my skills?" He smirked.
"What can I say, it was like watching a mystery show when I was looking over those old case memories-"
"Pandora..." Shinichi huffed.
"Sorry!" She bows. "It's time to go, I'll see you in a few minutes." She smiled. Shinichi leaves his inner world and wakes up at the harbor. Two dock workers make there way to the boy.
"Hey son, what are you doing here? This area is off limits-" The other dock worker cuts him off.
"Wait, this was kid that was chased by that crazy guy that the police arrested." Conan smiled, that crazed bastard is going to spend some needed time behind bars. Conan noticed that he was still freezing cold. He guess that being wet with cold water and exposed to the cool air wasn't helping.
"I-I'm c-c-cold..." Conan shivered.
"Ah crap! Call an ambulance! I'll try and warm the kid up in the break room at the office!" One of the workers run off to call the ambulance while the other worker took him to the dock warehouse.
Kawaguchiko (11:00PM)
Ran, Masumi, Sonoko, and Haraku step out of the mini van and make there way to a small house at the edge of town. As they walked, Ran let out a gasp and looked behind her. "Ran, what's wrong?" Sonoko asked.
"I can't help but feeling that Conan-kun might be in danger..." She grasped her heart. "I just feel it..."
"You know when this Conan-kun is in danger?" Haraku asked. She nods.
"Well, it's hard to explain. Sometimes it sounds like he's calling my name, and sometimes I just get this bad feeling, like some horrible is about to happen..." Ran sighed. "But we can't stop now. We have to find the vessel." The group now stands in front of the door to the old house. Haraku goes to knock but the door opens. The man was in his early eighty, his eyes where pure white, a sign that he was blind. His body was cloaked and his hair was grey and balding.
"Well, it's about time you came. What took you so long!" The old man bopped Haraku with his cane. "Come in you four, we have much to do in a short time." This shocked the girls, how did he know that there were three others with Haraku. All of them make there way to the living room and sat on the couch.
"Girls, this is the seer. He has no name." Haraku introduced.
"Why?" Ran asked. Everyone has a name, why not this man.
"Because I sold it, along with my sight. In order to see the past, present and all of the futures." The Seer explained. "I learned of Pandora from a old journal of an alchemist that lived in the Renaissance era in the 15th century. He wished to duplicate Pandora and it's immortal properties because he could only acquire a sample of the tears. He poured a half a century of his life into his work on the philosopher's stone. But failed, he sold Pandora and lived a noblemen's life for the remainder of his years." The seer explained.
"So he was the closets to making the philosopher's stone?" Masumi asked.
"Not even close. He couldn't duplicate the life blood. Many others would try and copy his work but failed. After reading the journal, I began to hunt down a trail that's gone long since cold. My quest prove futile, until I met him..."
"Who?" Sonoko asked.
"A friend of mine, well I thought he was a friend, but greed and power corrupted him. He learned of Pandora and added me in my quest to find it. However, I discovered his true motives... To use Pandora to take over the world! Of course you already didn't you." The seer frowned. "He used his connection to build a corporate empire and fueled our quest. But then, I discovered a ancient and powerful magic that allowed me to see into the past, present and future. I saw a dark age, where everyone was enslaved by my friend's company. Everyone was forced to work for the onyx conglomerate. The worst part was seeing Pandora bled dry! It's once beautiful radiance corrupted by a machine that drained her life blood."
"How horrible!" Ran gasped.
"But how did you know that Pandora chose a vessel?" Masumi asked.
"It's because I acquired the power to see every possible future, and the prophecy!"
"The prophecy?" Sonoko tilted her head. The seer recites the prophecy.
On the fourth of spring, a gifted child shall be born. With intellect and skill that shall grow.
A goddess trapped in a gem, saved by the one who vowed to destroy her.
The two shall meet once forming a bond through a hymn.
Boy shall grow on the way to be a man with pride in heart.
Then the crows come forth and take away his true self with a deadly poison.
The savior becomes the child of truth, seeker of crows.
Then at last child and goddess shall meet again, and the child shall become the vessel of the life maiden.
All three of the girls were shocked, but not as shocked as Ran. What kind of supernatural mess did her friends get into. It was pure madness, and she had a feeling that she knew who the vessel. It was none other then her childhood friend Shinichi Kudo. This knowledge was eating away at her so bad, and so many questions raged inside her mind. "Ran, are you alright?" Sonoko asked. Ran looked towards Sonoko and nods.
"Y-yes... It's just a lot to take in..." She sighed, then asked a question. "What was the point of the friendly ghost scare?" She asked.
"It was started by you're truly, to find the child of truth, with many years of failure, but it did raise money for the town and the seekers, and finally when we were successful, we were closed down by Snake and his men. The man is a worthless coward who enjoys kill people when they can't defend themselves."
"So you know who is the vessel?" Masumi inquired.
"Indeed I do. It is-" There was a loud knocking.
"Old man! A group of guys in black suits are looking for you!" A young man yelled.
"It seems were are out of time..." The seer sighed and looks to Ran. "If someone has lied to you, then give them a chance to explain there reason. The vessel must be protected at all cost."
"What about you!" Sonoko shouted. "We can't just leave you here you idiot!" The old man smiled.
"Nothing to worry about ojou-san, I have an underground escape route that leads to a safe house of the seekers. When I'm there, I will be escorted to the Seekers headquarters. Now go!" Haruka signals the girls and they follow him to the mini van. The seer smirked. "I can't die yet, I have a job to do." The seer goes to the northern right corner of the house and pulls the wood floor revealing a latch. He opens the latch and climbs down ten feet on a ladder. Down the spider hole there was a mile long tunnel and a electric cart. "Good thing I don't need to see with my eyes!" He hops in the electric cart and rides away.
Tokyo docks (12:00AM)
Being wrapped up in a warm blanket and eating a bowel of hot soup is a lot better then freezing in the cold. 'Okay so we can still suffer from hypothermia, but we can always teleport out of the water.' Pandora made small talk to Conan as he ate soup and warmed himself up. An ambulance came to see if Conan needed to go to the hospital. So far, the EMT's found no problems with Conan, If fact he was healthy.
"You're as tough as nails boy. Jumping in a cold river to escape a psychopath. That's something else." The EMT sighed. "I think it's best that you go to the hospital-"
"Don't worry! I'm perfectly fine, really I'm okay!" Conan chirped.
"I don't think so little guy, just to be safe." The detective sighed.
"Okay... Are my clothes dry...?" Conan asked with a small blush a crossed his face. Officer Satou and Takagi.
"Conan-kun!" The woman put her hands on her hips. "Don't do that again! You could have been seriously injured! Luckily the man that tried to kidnap you has been arrested. The man had a lot of tools, tools that he would use to torture you." Takagi stepped forword.
"First let's get you to the hospital and see if you're injured-"
"Actually, he's not wounded in any way." One of the EMT's interrupted. Satou smiled.
"That's great! I think it's time for you to go home and get some sleep. We called Mouri-tantei and informed him about what happened. He said that he wants you home. Conan nodded and went to the restroom to change into his clothes. After getting dressed, he got a ride back to the agency. When Conan walked into the agency he was hugged by Ran.
"I'm so glad you're safe! I heard from otou-san that you were being chased by some psychopath!" Ran hugged Conan harder. Kogoro cleared his throat and the two of them turn to Kogoro.
"For too long the brat has been targeted by freak and crazies, so I decided to have us take a trip to Osaka." Kogoro said. This made the two smiled it would be nice to see Heiji and Kazuha. The three of them decided to go to bed.
