Chapter 10: schedule in Kyoto pt. 1
The teachers couldn't believe that their own student would be at the baths with them
'What is she doing here?' they thought
"This is trouble indeed" the swordswoman hummed "if Negi and Haru-sensei are indeed mages..."
"SHE KNOWS ANEKI! ANIKI!" Chamo shouted in his whispers "She really is a spy in stopping us!"
'Somehow I still don't believe you... Chamo' Haru deadpanned but noticed his girlfriend getting tense 'uh-oh, trouble is arriving'
'I can't believe Setsuna-san would do this!' Negi took out her practice wand and grasped it tightly
Setsuna heard the noise 'a spy is here!' and broke the lantern beside her and reached for her weapon before dashing into the water where her targets are in
Haru and Negi ducked away from Setsuna's attack as she cut through the rock they hid behind, Negi manuevered around as she casted her spell disarming the swordswoman of her blade
'You think I'd rely on my weapon alone to gain the advantage' she smirked 'well guess again!'
Haru saw Setsuna movuing toward Negi and he dashed forward 'I won't be able to reach her in time!' luckilly that he was able to keep his belt around his waist as he placed his right hand over it
Speed...please
Gaining a sudden boost in movement he dashed forward and pushed Negi away and ended up bieng in Setsuna's grip as she grabbed his neck and uh... privates
"Who are you?!" She spoke threateningly as her grip tightened "tell me who you are or I'll snap it off!"
"A little... bit much on the... threat there Setsuna-chan" he choked out with a small grin
"Haru...sensei?" she blinked but then she heard whimpers, the girl turned to see a scared Negi looking back at her "Negi-sensei?"
Back inside the inn Konoka blinked before looking at Asuna "Asuna, did you just hear something?"
"Probably just your head making you think of the water" she replied "let's go change and take our bath"
After realizing what she did she stepped away and looked at her hand before blushing up a storm upon knowing what she touched
"I-I'm sorry about that Sensei!" she placed her hands behind her back "I just went to weak spot to stop the fight"
"H-Haru-kun" Negi whimpered as she went to her lover's side "are you okay?"
"I'm fine Negi-chan" he coughed a bit "you must really work hard to have a strong grip Setsuna-chan"
Just then Chamo started spouting nonsense about Setsuna being a spy to stop Negi on her mission but the stuedent reasoned that she isn't the enemy and was actually their ally
But before anymore reasons continue a scream reached their ears form inside the building
"That sounded like it came from the dressing room" Haru spoke
"Don't tell me that they are after Konoka-ojou-sama!?" she dashed ahead hoping that her fear didn't come true
'Ojou-sama' Negi pondered as she and Haru with Chamo in tow as they followed their student 'what kind of relationship did she and Konoka-san have?'
As the group opened the door, they never thought that they would be seeing this...
Asuna and Konoka are being stripped by a bunch of monkeys...
"Get these monkeys off us!" Asuna screamed as she tried to keep her underwear on her body
"Kyaa!" Konoka screamed as she also tried to keep her underclothes in her grip
Sadly the monkeys won and took their underwear, leaving them bare-skinned before the three
"Eek!" Konoka blushed as she was seen bare in front of her childhood friend and teachers "please don't look at me Se-chan! Senseis!"
Setsuna was furious at seeing Konoka being treated in such a manner "BAKA NO SARU!" she roared as she presented her blade ready to be used "How dare you treat ojou-sama like that!"
"Ack!" Asuna gaped in fear at seeing the blade Setsuna held in her hand "don't use that weapon here Sakurazaki-san!"
Negi jumped in and grabbed the swordswoman's body trying to stop her "Setsuna-san! Please don't hurt them!"
Setsuna tried to reason her teacher that the monkeys are paper dolls but they got off-balanced, she grabbed the nearest object she could grasp, Unfortunately (or fortunately) she grabbed Haru who now fell with them with a loud thud
"Ite" he groaned but as he tried to get up but there was a weight on top of him 'now who's on top of me?' When Haru opened his eyes he saw something very delicate that would be forever burned in his mind
Setsuna groaned as she rubbed her head from the impact she felt on the wooden floor but when she got her bearings she felt something on her chest, her eyes went wide upon seeing Negi touch her breast and to make matters worse Haru was below her getting an eyeful of her delicate flower
The three were sputtering nonsense at each other at the embarrassing situation but Asuna shouted at them that Konoka was being taken away by the monkeys, Setsuna moved fast cutting the monkeys away with her Shinmei school swordsmanship saving the girl instantly
"Se-chan" Konoka mumbled "d-did you save me?" she then smiled brightly "arigatou"
Setsuna blushed madly which made her do a rash move to drop Konoka on the water before running away
"What the hell was that about?" Asuna blinked at the scene
"Konoka-san" Negi called "what is Setsuna-san to you? She called you ojou-sama"
"Negi-chan, Asuna-chan" Haru called as he rubbed his head from his fall earlier "let's get dressed first before getting answers"
The girls blushed upon realizing that the students are still bare with Haru as the only male in the area thanks to the intense situation earlier
After getting some clothes the group were in the lobby with Konoka telling her friends about her childhood with Setsuna;
The two have became very close and Setsuna has been her bodyguard even then. But all that went bad when she was drowning on the river, Setsuna tried to save her but she too ended up drowning. Thankfully though they were saved by the adults
However the incident led Setsuna to be scarred which led her train harder, but within her dedication to stay strong she had been distancing herself from Konoka to this day like the happy times have ended between them thanks to the incident
Asuna and Negi were silent at this, they just couldn't find the words cheer Konoka up, Haru on the other hand found a way to do that
He sat next to Konoka and hugged her close surprising the girl at the sudden action, she tried to move but his grip tightened
"It's okay Konoka-chan" he whispered "let the tears out, I'm right here"
His words spoke calmly reachinng her heart making the tears visible before finally breaking down after years of keeping the burden inside her heart
She gripped his sleeves as she continued to cry her heart out, Haru just kept her in his arms while he rubbed her back to soothe her feelings
Asuna was surprised at seeing the situation before her "Negi" she called to her young teacher "how did-?"
"Haru-kun is a good person Asuna-san" Negi replied knowing the question Asuna was asking "when I told him that courage is magic in my childhood that courage is magic, he would say that hope creates magic"
"Meaning what exactly?" Asuna pressed
"Meaning that his strength can support us" Negi smiled
Konoka sniffed as she got her bearings making Haru look at her "feeling better?"
"Hai" she nodded "arigatou Haru-kun"
"Have hope Konoka-chan" he smiled tenderly "I'm sure that we can get you and Setsuna-chan back together"
His words made Konoka squeel in joy as she jumped into his arms again "thank you Haru-kun!" she smiled "and for doing this I grant you permission on calling Se-chan like I do"
"Thank you Konoka-chan" he patted her head "I'll get you and Se-chan close again"
After the tender pleasantries, Negi, Asuna, Haru and Chamo walked down by the hallway saying goodnight to 3-A before spotting Setsuna placing paper talisman on the doorframe
"Se-chan!" Haru called making the girl jump off the chair but he caught her on the fall "good seeing you again"
Setsuna blushed at her teacer before jumping of his arms and bowing to him in apology for not telling them sooner that she was the ally in their mission
"Now that we have the edgy collision settled" Negi prompted a discussion "let's talk about Konoka"
Setsuna explained that she had some suspicions on a rouge Kansai talisman user which led to the girls confusion, she then explained further that in Kansai the spellcasters rely on eastern talisman for the spells meaning that in using tsrong magic they summon a group of demon spirits as their gaurds when they start using the magic
"So that means Konoka-chan is a target since she was born in Kyoto" Haru hummed silently thinking of who has knowledge of eastern magic
"Hai" Setsuna nodded "even though there only few enemies here, there are still some people who crave for power alone"
This led to the girls creating a group to protect Konoka (which the swordswoman found odd) Negi went to patrol outside the building, Haru will take care of patrolling the halls near the entrance while Asuna and Setsuna will take care of the room areas
Haru was walking on through area and spotted Asakura holding a jumpy Natsumi in her arms
"Are you two okay?" he asked
"We're fine sensei" Asakura replied as she helped her friend back to her feet "just need to watch the staff for tonight"
Haru nodded as he continued walking the area, but when he got outside he saw a shadow in the moonlit sky 'it seems that something happened without the alarm that Se-chan set up' he then laced his right hand over his buckle
Garuda...please
The small red bird appeared and he placed the ring in the slot finishing the summon
"Follow that shadow and come back after it stopped"
Garuda nodded and it flew to the skies finding the mysterious, while he waited for his bird to come back, Haru decided to get ready
Driver on...please
The belt now became bulky and Haru flipped the levers making the hand switch to the left
Shabadoobie touch henshin!
He placed a emerald ring on his left middle finger "henshin" and placed it over his buckle
Hurricane...please
The wind started to get stronger as a green magic circle appeared above Haru's head, he jumped up starting his transformation
Fu-Fu...Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu!
After donning his armor, Garuda came back looking quite panicked
"That bad huh?" the bird nodded "lead the way"
Haru followed his little companion to the area where the girls are fighting a woman holding a monkey suit in one hand while carrying an unconciuos Konoka in the other, she used her talisman magic to fend off her pursuers
Then Negi used her magic to boost her partner Asuna while giving her a weapon which is a giant harisen (non-lethal form) but when she struck one of the paper dolls it disappeared shocking everyone
"Y-you!" the lady growled "don't think that you've won yet!"
Asuna blocked the second attack giving Setsuna a free chance to save Konoka but that chance backfired as a another Shinmei swordswoman called Tsukuyomi appeared and challenged her to a stand still
Asuna would have helped her classmate out but she was busy taking care of the paper doll while being ambushed by the monkeys from the dressing room earlier
Negi casted her arrow spell setting on hitting her mark but the lady cried out in fear and used Konoka as a shield to protect her
And it worked...
Negi's magic arrows moved away leaving the target for fear of harming her own students "No fair!" she panicked "using Konoka-san as a shield like that!"
The monkey lady laughed loudly claiming that she was going to use Konoka as her subject for experiments that had thought about during the capture of her target
'That lady is leaving herself wide open right now' Haru looked at his students to see them glaring right at the lady 'better step in before those two explode'
The monkey lady continued her invinciblity making the girls' fury rise even higher
"You know" A voice echoed in the night sky making everyone looke up to reveal Haru descending in their area "an evil lady like you can leave yourself like a sitting duck if you keep talking like that"
"Haru/-kun/-sensei!" Asuna, Negi and Setsuna exclaimed upon seeing the man in view as he landed on the ground
He then placed a ring on his right middle finger before switching the levers making his hand buckle shift right
Lupachi magic touch go!
He place his hand on the buckle activating his spell ring
Connect...please
A magic circle appeared next to and he pulled out his weapon in gun mode before pointing at the target
The monkey lady just smiled as she placed her human shield in front of her causing Setuna and Asuna to panic as Haru's weapon is now pointed at Konoka
"Don't worry you two" He smiled before looking at Negi "right Negi-chan?"
"Right" the young teacher nodded "just have hope in Haru" she assured her students
Haru aimed directly at his target and fired his shot
The bullet flied through the air, time slowed down as it moved toward Konoka, to the regular eye like Asuna it seemed fast but to a trained like Setsuna her eyes widen when the projectile moved away from the unconsciuos student and struck the lady's glasses creating a spark making the two seperate
"But how?" Setsuna and Asuna gaped "that can't even be possible"
"Magic bullets" Haru smirked "that'll teach you, you stupid monkey lady"
"Why you!" the lady growled as she pulled out another talisman
"Chigusa stop" a different voice echoed
A new person arrived suddenly in the battle, the person revealed to be a young boy about Negi's age with short white hair, blue eyes, wearing a plain blue suit and a very very calm expression. Even though this person isn't doing anything Setsuna and Haru can sense a strong power dwelling in his form
"You stay out of this!" the monkey lady now called Chigusa stood up and prepared her spell
But before she could even chant the lady was knocked out by the boy (making the paper dolls dissapear) and he carried her over his shoulder, he then looked at Tsukuyomi's battle
"That's enough Tsukuyomi" he called "it's time to leave"
"Aww" the girl pouted as he jumped away from Setsuna's slash "but I haven't finished yet..."
"You'll get another chance" he reasoned "right now, we need to rest"
"Okay" Tsukuyomi nodded before she kicked Setsuna way "I have to go now" she jumped away from the scene without a trace
The boy took one last look at Haru before he started to leave via water teleportation
"Wait!" the ringed wizard called out "just who are you?"
"Fate" the boy replied as the water started covering him "that's all you need to know" and then he was gone
The four ran to check on Konoka who groaned before opening her eyes to see Setsuna cradling her
"It's okay ojou-sama" she smiled "everything is fine"
Konoka smiled brightly "I'm so glad, that Se-chan doesn't hate me"
Setsuna irked at realizing the distance between them, she then bowed in shame for her mistake earlier and dashed off but not before getting a reminder that she was in Asuna's group for tomorrow's activity
With Fate as she placed the unconscious Chigusa in the hideout
"Fate-han" Tsukuyomi spoke "why did you stop us from our battle?"
"Chigusa is already losing focus from her mission when the ring bearing mage entered the battle" he replied "his power can shift the battle to their favor"
Tsukuyomi smiled "are you sure that you interupting the fight isn't in your personal interest" she only got silence which caused her to giggle "okay, I'll get some sleep"
Once she was out of sight, Fate looked at the moon in the night sky, it was indeed his personal interest that he stopped the fight and he could still remember of that man's words from his past memories
'My power is strong but it's still incomplete' his words echoed in his mind 'someday my successor will carry the hope to open infinite possibilities'
'...to infinite possibilities' Fate made a small smile 'I'd like to see that...'
Morning came by with 3-A having a good breakfast, thankfully those who drank the spiked waterfall from yesterday's activity left them unable to remember the incident which is relief to Negi and Haru on their part
"Negi-chan, Haru-kun" Konoka smiled at her teachers "I don't know what happened last night" she then got a bot close to them "but thank you for saving me"
Haru nodded while Negi smiled bashfully with Chamo sweatdropping in relief 'it's a good she didn't know or else aneki and aniki would be in trouble'
Konoka then saw her childhood friend "Se-chan!" she called
The swordswoman flinched at being called, she stood up and walked away but she was stopped by Haru lifting her from the ground
"Haru-sensei" she struggled "please let me go"
"I can't do that Se-chan" he smiled while the girl got wide-eyed at being called that from someon else "Konoka-chan is sad that you had to distance yourself from her" he then leaned a bit close to her ear "and I don't want to stop calling you by your cute nickname"
Setsuna was now completely red to the neck that even steam was slowly blowing out of her ears, Haru placed her down next to Konoka who was smiling in joy
"Arigatou Haru-kun!" the brunette hugged the assistant teacher much to the envy of the other girls watching the scene
After breakfast the teachers and students were now in the lobby digesting their food for a few minutes
"That was a nice meal" Haru sighed as rubbed his belly "and we can finally get some rest from last night"
"You got that right" Asuna nodded "I doubt that lady would try to make a plan now"
As the three conversed, Negi was suddenly glomped by Makie which caught the eye of Ayaka's attention
"Negi-chan!" she smiled "will you join our group for the sight seeing today?"
She was then pushed aside by the class rep "nonsense! Negi-sensei will join group three for the sight seeing!"
Just then the other groups swarmed the poor teacher for her time with them
"Um...UM EXCUSE ME!" Nodoka shouted gaining everyone's attention "I-I WOULD LIKE TO ASK NEGI-SENSEI PERMISSION TO JOIN MY GROUP PLEASE!"
Her actions made the class gasp while giving Negi a blushed face at seeing her cute library student being so brave, she thought about it and with Haru's nod of approval
"It's settled" she gestured to Nodoka "I'll join group 5 today"
This made 3-A give ooh's at Nodoka's achievement, Haru smiled at the shy girl's job to get his girlfriend's free time
While Negi went with her joined group Haru felt a poke on his back, he turned around to see a blushing Ako and her friend Akira
"Is there something I can help you with?" he blinked
"Actually Haru-sensei" Akira pushed her friend forward "Ako-san wanted to tell you something"
"What is it?"
Ako stepped in feeling shy on what she will say next, but she knows that she will never get another chance like this until much... much later
"Haru-sensei" she finally spoke "um... I was wondering if you would join my group for the sight seeing today?"
Her predicament was like Nodoka's, 3-A is once again stunned to see Ako being brave today
Haru just smiled and patted Ako's head surprisng the girl on his action
"I would love to join group 4 today" Ako was so overwhelmed by his answer that she passed out in his arms "did I do something wrong?" he blinked
"No Haru-sensei" Akira took her out cold friend from her teacher "she expected that you would reject her request and when you said yes, she got so surprised that led her to pass out"
"I'll see you and your group in a few minutes" he suggested "I'll wait by the front door for you and your group"
The three left the lobby leaving the stunned students watching before they huddled together on what just happened
"What is going on here!?" Ayaka whispered "first Nodoka-san took Negi-sensei and now Ako-san took Haru-sensei"
"I know class rep" Makie squeeled at getting Haru in her group before calming down "it still surprises me that Ako was able to get Haru-kun like that"
"Perhaps it was the love stone thing" Fuuka reasoned "they did reach the end without going into the trap"
They pondered for a few seconds before Makie realized something and walked away from the huddle
"Makie!" the twins called "where are you going?"
"I have to get ready" the young gymnast smiled "after all, Haru-kun is going with my group"
After some time Haru was now with group 4 taking in the sights of the areas in Kyoto, they made a stop at Nara Park where the area is filled with deer and people feeding them
"H-Haru-sensei" Ako spoke shyly "can we sit down for a while"
"Sure Ako-chan" he smiled making the girl blush more "let's find a seat somewhere"
Haru and group 4 sat dawn and relaxed as they saw the deer move around them
"Haru-kun" Makie called to her teacher "can we feed the deer?"
The students went on with feeding the animals Makie and Yuna went first, they suddenly got surrounded by the deer needing the help of Ako and Akira leaving Haru alone with Mana
"Mana-chan" he called to his quiet student "why aren't you feeding the deer?"
"I'm... not really likable" Mana replied
"Oh don't be like that" he then grabbed her wrist surprising her "c'mon I'll even be next to you"
Mana went to feed the animal, but it shook at her presence and dashed away making the girl sigh
"Hmm" Haru hummed as he tried to make plan "Mana-chan, can I have half of your food?"
The girl gave her share to the assistant teacher and he found the deer that ran away from Mana, he then took out his food and presented it to the animal
"It's okay" he gestured for the animal to get closer "I'm not going to hurt you"
The deer went toward Haru and ate the food he presented, the animal then got close and rubbed it's head against his chest which prompted the guy to rub the animal's neck, Haru then looked at Mana who was watching him
He gestured for her to come closer, Mana followed his instructions before the deer looked at her making the girl stop
"It's okay Mana-chan" he smiled "just do it slowly"
Following his words she walked slowly and stopped in between Haru and the animal, she presented her food to them both, the deer looked at Haru who nodded back. The animal moved away from him and went to Mana's hand, the animal took the food and placed its heand on her palm
"What's it doing Haru-sensei?" the girl questioned
"The deer is thanking you Mana-chan" he smiled "and the animal wants to let you pat the head"
Mana looked back to the deer who was still gesturing her to pat the head, she then made the patting and the deer went closer mewling in delight at her touch
After a minute the animal moved away from them
"So how was the gesture Mana-chan?" Haru smiled
the girl looked at her hand before lookuin at her teacher "it was" she made a small smile "nice"
Neither did the two realize that the other members of the group were watching them
"Aww no fair Mana" Makie pouted "I wanted to spend time with Haru-kun"
"There, there Makie" Yuna patted the young gymnast "we still have time before going back to the academy"
Ako was jealous of Mana right now but a hand touched her shoulder, she turned to see Akira smiling at her signalling that there is still chance to get Haru's company
The group made it o the shrine with a lot of people entering and exiting the place, but as they went in the building the saw something that surprised them
Negi on her hands and knees reaching to Nodoka running past out of the shrine
"What was that about?" Yuna blinked
"I don't know" Makie then pointed to a running Haru "but Haru-kun can tell it's trouble"
"Negi-chan!" he called to the downed Negi "what happened here?"
"A little mishap happened" she reasoned "and she's now nervous to talk to me"
Haru helped the teacher to her feet, he looked at group 4 "sorry girls, but it seems Negi-chan needs help to find Nodoka-chan on this situation"
He bowed to the girls and the two teachers ran out of the area
"Aww" Makie pouted while Yuna patted her back. Ako was on the same boat but she smiled knowing that earlier Haru was someone who would help people upon notice, Akira noticed her smile and was relieved to know that she wasn't sad at Haru leaving suddenly
Negi and Haru are now out in the open with the former looking quite panicked at the situation she's in
"Negi-chan" he called "tell me what happened with you and your group"
So the young redhead told him about her trip with group 5 and the sudden split up of the members leaving her and Nodoka together and then they made the trip together around Kyoto which led up to now
'So Nodoka-chan's friends made this plan for her to be brave' he chuckled 'the only thing left now is to see if Nodoka-chan can actually do it'
And just as if Haru wished it Nodoka came back with a slightly flushed face from the running she did earlier to find her teacher
"Negi-sensei" she panted and then noticed her other teacher "Haru-sensei"
"Nodoka-san/chan" they spoke at the same time "we're so glad that your okay"
"Senseis" she then stood straight "I-I have something to say to both of you!"
While the three of them conversed Asuna, Setsuna and Chamo watched them from behind the bushes
"Are you sure that she's brave enough to do this?" Asuna whispered "I mean... she's a shy girl for crying out loud!"
"Just look ane-san!" Chamo pointed his paw at the scene "that girl is seriously being bold right now!"
While the two have been rambling about the situation, Setsuna continued watching Nodoka holding her ground before she's going to reveal something big
"Ever since both of you entered my life, I have been feeling happy that you two are in my class" she took a deep breathe "I...I LIKE YOU A LOT SENSEIS! BUT I LOVE YOU NEGI-SENSEI WITH ALL MY HEART!"
'SHE SAID IT!' the three watchers gaped with mouths dropped
Nodoka then ran away from the scene with a heavy blush on her face "I'm sorry that I told you this so suddenly senseis, but I wanted you both to know how I felt!"
Haru chuckled at Nodoka's confession 'you are a brave girl' he the noticed Negi's behaviour 'oh boy, information overload...'
Negi was dumbstruck at hearing her student's confession, the young teacher's mind was already having trouble keeping things together and finally her brain shut down making her hit the ground
"NEGI!" Asuna yelped before going to the young redhead
"ANEKI!" Chamo followed
Setsuna just watched Nodoka's retreating form in the distance 'such a shy girl, yet a strong heart'
Just then the remaining members of group 5 entered the scene and panicked upon seeing Negi's condition
"What happened to Negi-chan?!" Konoka screamed
Asuna would answer but she was more worried about her teacher, luckily Haru answered for her
"Negi-chan took the field trip schedule too much" he said calmly "with all the excitement she has made, it led her brain to shut down and pass out"
"This is bad!" Haruna panicked "Negi-sensei's temperature has reached one hundred degrees!"
"What are we waiting for!?" Asuna carried her teacher in her arms "let's get her back to the inn!"
