Chapter 10

The day they dreaded was today. It was a cold windy night the lake was still. The girls wanted to be by Sarah's side, but she didn't want them to get hurt.

"Will you be alright?" Lily asked Sarah.

She nodded and reassured that everything will be fine. "This is not the first time and certainly won't be the last." She left the Gryffindor common room, and left the girls with anxious looks.

Natalie shook her head. "We have to do something. She's our friend!"

Alice licked her lips and asked "But what?"

Bo had an idea. "We'll split up. Alice and I got the boys' map, so we can warn you whenever a teacher is around. We'll conjure red sparks from our window, and we'll make sure to conjure them to the distance."

Genevieve, who sat next to Lily, nodded.

"And Lily and Natalie will help you out there", Bo continued, addressing Genevieve.

Lily sighed "This is crazy, but it's not a bad idea. And by the way, how did you get their map?"

Alice giggled "Well, Lilykins, we have our own ways to get what we want." Fortunately for them, the Marauders didn't hear their plan for tonight.

Sarah was undetectable. She managed to escape from Hogwarts and run to the Forbidden forest. Crying, she kept on running deep into the forest. She stopped to catch her breath. While catching her breath, a sharp pain overcomes her. Sarah screamed, and deep down she knew it was time. She quickened her breath to control the pain, but with no luck. She looked up to see the full moon. The moon's beam glinted in her eyes, and she growled ferociously. She tore off her clothes and was sprawled on the ground. She turned into a medium sized werewolf, with light brown fur, which stood up in a beastly manner.

Lily and Natalie were outside, searching for Sarah, with their wands at the ready, just in case. Genevieve was with them, in her canine form. Suddenly Genevieve heard a growl and barked, and ran towards the forest.

"It's coming from the Forbidden forest." Natalie said, running along with Lily to the forest. Entering the forest, the girls immediately felt a chill down their spine.

"It's creepy here." Lily said. Walking after Genevieve, They looked around the forest. Suddenly, Genevieve caught the scent and ran quickly. She ran so quickly, the girls had a hard time keeping up, but they did. Natalie and Lily hid behind a tree, more frightened than ever. They found a huge, brown werewolf growling at the dog.

"Remus". Lily and Natalie said together. Teeth flaring, claws came out and the animals soon attacked each other. Natalie heard something coming up to them from behind. She turned around to be a black dog and a stag looking at them.

Bo gasped "Lily, look." Lily looked at see the animals behind them.

"James and Sirius." She smiled at them. The black dog and the stag went to help the Labrador succumb the werewolf.

They heard a howl.

"Sarah" Lily and Natalie said together. They ran to the direction where they heard the howl. But they were startled when they saw a light brown werewolf on one of the trees, growling at them.

"Oh my Merlin!" Natalie panicked.

"Stupefy!" Lily conjured a spell, which worked for a little while and they ran as fast as they could, back to the boys. But Sarah caught up with them, and suddenly Remus appeared and started to tackle Sarah. Barks, growls, howling. James, Sirius and Genevieve came, running. They tried to interfere, but they got hurt, one by one.

"I've had enough." Natalie ran to Sarah's direction, not listening to Lily's protest. Natalie was about to conjure a spell, until Sarah hit her hard, which left her unconscious.

"Natalie!" Lily cried. Remus, looking at Natalie's form, was coming back to his human senses. He whined and picked her up and howled. Remus nodded to the animals and at Natalie's direction and ran off, leaving the other dumbfounded. Sarah was furious. She growled and ran away from the others and away from the forest. Lily ran up to Natalie and checked her vital signs.

"I guess Remus finally made his choice." Lily said, looking at her. The stag was gone, replaced by James and Sirius appeared, along with Genevieve. James was furious.

"Why did you come there? I thought we talked about this. You could've been killed!"

Lily cried. "I know, I'm sorry. It's just that Sarah's our friend and I couldn't abandon here"

"But we were here!" James sighed and hugged his girlfriend.

Sirius asked "And where's Bo? I hope she's back at the castle" Lily sniffed and nodded. They walked back out of the forest to see Remus and Sarah in their human form, on the ground. Genevieve conjured blankets for them. Sirius carried Remus back to the castle and James carried Natalie, and Peter carried Sarah.

Meanwhile in the girls' room, Bo and Alice were worried.

"Where are they? I can't see them." Alice said, holding her binoculars.

Bo all of a sudden felt nauseous. "Alice, I'll be right back." She ran to the bathroom, leaving Alice worried. After a few minutes, Bo came back.

"Are you alright?" Alice asked.

Bo nodded "Probably the stomach flu." Soon they saw Peter, Sirius, James, Genevieve and Lily walking back.

"Oh! There they are! What's wrong with Natalie?" Bo snatched the binoculars from Alice and looked. Bo waved at them. Through a new secret passage, they got in to Hogwarts. They rested Sarah, Natalie and Remus in the Hospital wing, without Madam Pomfrey knowing. The five of them entered swiftly into their common room. Bo ran downstairs and hugged Sirius.

"I was so worried!"

"I'm alright, but hurt myself a little bit."

Bo replied deviously "Do you need a nurse?", while moving her hand up and down on Sirius' chest. He understood the intention, and nodded. The couple went upstairs.

Genevieve went to her room "I won't be able to sleep anyway, with their moaning." Peter bade them goodnight and left. James laughed, but Lily wasn't.

"Love, what's wrong?"

"I've never felt so scared in my entire life, and alone. I was running in the forest and I thought about you. I don't know what I'd do without you." James kissed her passionately by the fireplace. She moaned when he kissed her neck, but suddenly he stopped.

"I don't want you to do something you don't want to do. I care about you too much."

Lily smiled and said "Shut up and go on." And he did.
