I looked at Stephen and made a face of frustration. "If you do not return our rogue with the fleeting soul gem intact we will be forced to use alternate action" the computer spoke.
Stephen mouthed something that I could not make out for the life of me, "Well, you see, I have no idea what the 'fleeting soul gem' is" I said shrugging.
The line went quiet a moment then the voice spoke again, "The one you know not. The one who has changed over time rapidly".
I shook my head but my eyes widened, "Abby…" I said under my breath.
I closed my eyes and thought quickly, "What should we do to return your rogue to receive our prize?"
Stephen grabbed my shoulder in an act support I believe, but it was no use.
"Bring the rogue to the building you society left behind. Find the mark on the soul that one cannot heal and we will meet you there" The voice said.
I nodded and put my hand to my lips, "Our prize better not be harmed".
There was no sound then the final warning came, "We are not an aggressive species in nature, but we have the ability, much like humans. If the gem does not show in the next earth day, your blonde will receive punishment for you being behind. Consider this your warning."
Then It was gone…"Connor, what do we do?"
"I'm not sure" I said thinking.
My mind was so conflicted, I want Abby back, but what is this gem they speak of? What did it do? Was it safe to give it back?
"Stephen prepare the rogue to find this building they speak of. We need to find a way to get it to them as quick as possible so Abby is unscathed".
He nodded, "What do you think they will do to her?"
I put my face in my palms, "I'm sure they will do whatever they see is fair for us being late…"
"Will we be on time?"
"We have to be…"
