Aerrow

"What?! No you're lying that can't be true!"

"It's the truth Aerrow It all me from the very beginning, Lark was just my persona for when I wanted to interact with the outside world"

Upon hearing those words stated so calmly something in me snaps and before I knew it I had ignited my swords and charged her. She barely dodges my first strike as she jumps back bringing her staff to block my other strike as I continue my barrage.

"Was this just some joke to you!?" I say as our weapons clash against each other.

She repels my attack before shooting blast after blast at me forcing me to hide behind on of the pillars in the room.

"This was never a joke to me Aerrow! Everything I've said and everything I've done I did because I was afraid that if you found out who I was I'd lose the only person I've ever gotton close to."

The crystal blasts start to slow before coming to a stop and seeing my chance rush from my cover and with the sword with the null crystal slice her staff in half causing it to explode sending us flying in opposite directions. She was sent flying into some wall while I was sent hurling into a pillar which from the sound I emitted must have broken a rib or two. As I tried to stand a spectral hand shot out of nowhere and grabbed me before slamming me to the ground and holding me there as Cyclonis walked up crystal in hand.

"Aerrow I don't want to hurt you so please just listen to what I have to say."

Having no choice I give her a nod which seems to bring some hope to her face.

"When I met you on Terra Neon it was completely accidental I was just there to have some fun and relax. I had no idea you would be there."

"Then why did you kiss me before you ran off?"

"…Well I just acted on the moment, besides I might be the ruler of Cyclonia but I'm still a teenage girl."

"But why have me be your bodyguard?"

"I had to know whether the feelings I had for you were real or if they were just a spur of the moment so like any scientist I tested my hypothesis with a series of events as Lark in order to see if what I felt was real."

"So that's why I kept seeing Lark around and why see talked to me about you but what did you find." Having calmed down enough I started to look back and think about both sides as she explained.

"Soon enough I was thinking about you more and more and then we kissed again which was the best moment of my life and that just slid everything into place." With a flick of her wrist the giant hand comes up holding me right in front of her. I knew it would happen but I was still shocked when she leaned in and kissed me before releasing me from her crystal's grasp.

"I love you Aerrow I know I shouldn't but I do."

"Cyclonis I…"

She steps back before turning around as if trying to block me out.

"I've lied to you and betrayed your trust so if you want to leave and never see me again I won't stop you."

Time stops for me as the wait of her words sink in and I think about my options. To the left is a window leading to my freedom but right in front of me is the person I had fallen in love with even if it was with a disguise. Without knowing why I pulled her into my arms and pressed her close to me.

"It may not make sense to you or me but I do love you Cyclonis. Even if you mislead me at the start I fell for the girl who was fun to be around and made me laugh.

"But I lied to you Aerrow"

"I know but I don't focus on the past I'm more of a in the moment kind of guy."

We stay like that for a few moments just the two of us, me holding her in my arms and her leaning into me.

"Aerrow as much as I would like to stay here like this I should probably call of my guards that are more than likely standing outside the door ready to kill you."

Looking around the room at all the scorch marks and broken columns I realized just how bad it would look if anyone came in right now.

"Yeah well why you do that is there another way out of this room by chance?"

"There's a hidden door in the back of my crystal room that leads to my bedroom just don't touch anything." She said pointing to a door in the back

Taking that as my cue I bolt through the door and come face to face with hundreds of crystals of all shapes and sizes, but the one in the center of the room caught my attention the most. I had only seen it once but one doesn't forget seeing the back abyss. When I had seen it the first time it was nothing more than a dull black rock but now it was a pulsing black with a strong red aura around it.

"Now I know I should do the smart thing and destroy this while I have the chance but something tells me to wait and see."

My focus was broken by the sound of screaming from the next room, mostly it was the voice of the dark ace and then Cyclonis shouting louder but I could also make out the voices of Snip and Ravess in the mix.

Not wanting to stick around I feel around for the hidden door before ducking inside and walking the short tunnel before coming to a false wall that lead to Cyclonis's wardrobe. Once outside the wardrobe I look around before finding and collapsing on her bed too tired from all the madness that had just happened. The last thing I see before I go to sleep is the small yet fully restored doll I had one for her the first time we had met.
