The night was chilly, Natsu thought, but it wasn't exactly uncomfortable. Sure, a breeze here and there made goosebumps rise on his skin but he wasn't exactly adverse to cold weather conditions. He didn't mind the cold in general. After all, his favorite Mage just happened to specialize in ice magic. How could he hate the cold when it reminded him of someone so important to him.

Thinking like that made the tiniest of blushes rise on Natsu's face. He's already come to terms with how he feels about Gray. He did, after all, pretty much confess it straight to his face. Telling Gray that Natsu thought he loved him was a pretty big step in Natsu's book. But it felt really nice at the same time. Like a weight was lifted from his shoulders. Finally admitting something as big as that was defiantly a good stress reliever. Not to mention, Gray said that he felt the same way. Hearing that made Natsu feel like all of his worries and problems had been washed away.

"Pinky. Hey Pinky!" A voice to his right made Natsu snap back to reality. Looking over to where it had come from, Natsu was reminded that he was actually on a date with Bree. It's not that Natsu didn't like her, but it was just that she was a little persistent and Natsu didn't want to hurt her feelings too bad when he tells her that he was in love with someone else, someone who just so happened to be a guy.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" He gave her a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of his head with his hand. She frowned at him a little but bounced back to smiling in a split second.

"I was saying that we can go to my place to eat our dinner. It will be a more comfortable place to talk about the mission instead of in front of other people in a restaurant. Don't you think that sounds like a good idea?" She said happily giving him a wide smile.

If Natsu was being honest, he really didn't think that it sounded like a good idea. He thought that they were going to be eating in front of other people. Where she wouldn't think to try anything with him because of all the people around. If Gray was here, he would have a fit. Natsu actually almost said no because he thought about what Gray would do but he stopped himself before he said anything. He didn't really have time to debate where to go, and she made a good point. If someone in the town was the kidnapper, then that would leave the option of the person listening in on their conversation.

With this in mind, Natsu could do nothing but nod and let Bree lead the way to wherever she lived.

As soon as Natsu gave his approval, Bree smiled even wider than ever before and skipped ahead a little to lead the way to her home. Natsu could only wait for the night to be over so he could go back to Gray.

It didn't take them very long toget back to her house, two maybe three minutes, but to Natsu, the night just kept dragging on. Her home was nice; two stories with a nice garden in front and a path that led straight to her front door. When they got to the door, Bree got out some keys and proceeded to unlock the door, allowing Natsu to go in first.

As soon as he entered, he immediately started to look around at everything. First entering the house, there was a large room to the left. It was occupied by a red sofa that could fit three people, four if they squished. In front of said couch was a coffee table that had candles burning on either end and a small statue of something in the middle. From where he was, Natsu couldn't exactly make out the figure. Just a few feet away from the coffee table were two armchairs resting in front of a burning fireplace. Natsu could hear the crackles from the fireplace and could smell the fire burning the wood. In front of him was a long narrow hallway with a set of stairs near the end that led to the second story. At the very end of the hallway, there was a black door. What it led to, Natsu did not know.

That's when Natsu smelled the food. Natsu, as a dragon slayer, has a very keen sense of smell. He can smell food from a mile away, especially with his love for food, so it surprised him that he didn't notice it sooner. He looked over to where the wonderful scent was coming from and found what he assumed was the kitchen. It was a nice kitchen;clean white tiles littered the floor, and an island was in the center of it. To the left of it, was a brown, wood dining table. A dead chicken cooked to perfection rested on top of it and apparently, that was where the aroma was coming from.

"I guess you were pretty confident that I was going to say 'yes' to you." It wasn't a question to Natsu, judging by the look on Bree's face, she had planned this pretty well.

"What can I say? You didn't seem like the type of guy who would just say no to a pretty face." She said with a sweet smile and a shrug of the shoulders. Natsu could just 'hmph' at her as she led him to their table and their dinner for the night.

They sat directly across from each other at the rectangular table. Natsu on one end, Bree on the other. Well, she would be there if she hadn't had excused herself from the table at the moment to get them drinks. Natsu sat a bit uncomfortably at the table as he waited for her to return. He didn't really want to be there. Maybe Gray was right about having suspicions about her. She seemed a bit too cheery with everything that was going on.

Bree returned to the table and set a glass in front of Natsu. It looked like some sort of tea, if Natsu had to make a guess. Just before Bree returned to her seat, she touched Natsu's shoulder tenderly that sent chills up his spine. She then walked back over to her seat and sat down.

And their date had officially started.
