XAX: Finally! After, what, two years?
Nim: Sire, you had not yet met me the last time you updated this story.
XAX: *scratches head sheepishly* Yeah... I've been behind. I started the Team and college though, and that's kept me pretty busy.
Nim: Still, Sire.
XAX Yeah, well... Nim, would you like to tell them what they already know?
NIM: Of course. His Majesty King Xerxes IV owns nothing he writes about except the ideas. Sire?
XAX: Thank you, Nim. On with the show.
The ride in the T-car was tense, to say the least.
Raven sat in the middle, between Beast Boy and Starfire, the latter of which was confused.
"I must ask, friend Raven, why are you… the mad, at friend Beast Boy? He has done nothing wrong, yes?"
"No, he hasn't done anything wrong Star, I'm not mad at him, I'm tense, there's a distinct difference."
"What exactly are you the tense about?"
"Terra and Slade are back from the dead, and they're terrorizing the town! That's kind of a freaking big deal Star!" Gar burst out.
The car got silent.
"BB, you didn't have to go off on her like that…" Cyborg stated from the driver's seat.
"I know I shouldn't have gone off, but still."
"It's fine, really, I am the ok," Starfire said quietly.
Robin sighed heavily, and Beast Boy scratched the back of his head awkwardly as they pulled up to the sight of the disturbance.
"Ah! My old friends the Titans! How have you been?" Slade asked, waving his arms extravagantly, like it was all a big show.
"What are you doing here Slade? How are you even alive?" Robin demanded.
"Well, you remember how I was trapped in all of that lava with Terra here? Well, I met Trigon, he said to tell you hi, by the way, Raven, and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse."
"And what was that?"
"Well, he gave me my life, as well as hers, and she's mine to control."
Beast Boy growled.
"Gar, she's not yours anymore, you know that right?" Raven looked at her husband worriedly.
"I know that, but she's still a Titan, and she's still a human, not whatever Slade is now."
"Oh, Garfield. I'm much more than a human now," Slade stated as he rushed towards the Titans, only to be caught by a blast from Cyborg's sonic cannon.
"BOOYAH!"
Slade picked himself up off the ground and cracked his neck.
"This is going to be fun, friends!" He exclaimed.
Beast Boy growled as he lunged at Slade, but it changed into a cry of pain as he hit a wall of solid rock.
"Terra," Raven snarled.
"Yes, Raven?"
"I'm going to rip you apart!"
Raven threw a wall of dark energy towards the rock, helping Beast Boy down, and then she flew up into the air and began a fast descent aimed straight for Terra.
Robin threw a freeze disc at Terra that caught her off guard, and Starfire was helping Beast Boy and Cyborg with Slade.
As Slade continued to evade nearly all attacks by the trio of Titans, Raven hit Terra.
The resulting earthquake toppled a building.
When the dust settled, Terra was down, but she certainly wasn't out.
She was battered and bleeding, but she was also very angry looking.
She grabbed pieces of the building that she had just felled, and threw them at Raven.
Slade had disappeared from the other Titans' view.
Raven dodged the concrete, but there was a sickening crack.
They looked back at Terra, and saw Slade, with her head in the crook of his arm, her body limp.
He had broken her neck.
I hope you enjoy the much, much too late (and short) tenth chapter of Don't Your Mem'ry Ever Sleep at Night! I started this freaking almost two years ago… I'm sorry! Please forgive me, I hope to keep updating this soon, and kind of regularly after that, but college and all… Anyway, let me know what you thought of it. J
