Cordelia couldn't believe her eyes or her ears. Oliver came back down and was actually asking her about her… condition. She didn't know if that meant that he was giving her a second chance or he was just curious but she decided to answer truthfully to everything no matter what.
Taking a deep breath and wiping away her tears she started. "That's exactly what I am." She looked him straight in the eyes. Oliver stayed silent for a while, so Cordelia grabbed the opportunity to explain herself to him. "I didn't want to hurt you, Oliver. I swear. Witch or not, I am still human. We just have special powers. That's all." She stood up and walked to him. Because of the chain, she couldn't exactly reach him, but he was just two steps away.
"Don't abandon me." She whispered tears shining in her eyes. "My ex-husband was a witch-hunter and only married me because he wanted to kill us all. My mother left me in an academy all by myself. Not even my students care for me. Don't leave me too." She whispered, shoulders shaking cause of her sobs. Her knees gave away and she ended up on the floor.
Cordelia's life had been a mess all along. The only good thing about it was Oliver and she couldn't lose him. Oliver watched her without moving. Inside, his heart was pumping like crazy after he saw how much this was torturing her. Finally he made his decision. Witch or not she was the only woman who accepted him for the monster he was. Taking a deep breath, he leaned down and unchained her. Cordelia looked up at him and Oliver smiled a little. Her heart flattered in her chest when she saw it.
"I can't leave you." He whispered cupping her cheeks. "I love you." He smiled and wiped her tears away. "But next time no secrets." He warned her and Cordelia nodded. "I need to tell you one more thing." Cordelia bit her lip nervously. Oliver lifted her up bridal style and moved her back on the bed. He climbed up as well and pulled her next to him. "Then tell me. I promise I won't be mad." Cordelia took a deep breath and started her story.
She told him about her time-travel and she revealed to him how she knew him, about Lana's book, about his and Lana's son and everything about her life. It was a lot to take in and when Cordelia finished she gave Oliver the time he needed to process everything. "So Lana has my son? I have a child?" Cordelia nodded. "In 3 year from now, you take a decision to track her down and kill her. I don't know if you knew about the child or not, but before you even step foot in the garden of her house, her bodyguards shoot you." She said rubbing her fingers. "I know it's too much to ask but please don't go anywhere near that place. Please." She begged him looking straight into his eyes.
Oliver couldn't promise that. He wanted to meet his child. He didn't care about Lana anymore; she was completely forgotten now that he met Cordelia. That child though, was the only child he could have. Cordelia had already told him that she couldn't get pregnant. He didn't want to remind that to the witch because he knew that it would have crushed her heart. Before he had a chance to reply, Cordelia stood up and ran to the bathroom.
He stood up and followed her. He found her kneeled in front of the toilet, vomiting so much that he thought that she was throwing up her actual stomach. Immediately he went to her, holding her hair back and rubbing her back softly. "Are you okay?" he asked her when she stood up. She walked to the sink and washed her face and mouth before she replied. "I've been throwing up all day. Something is really wrong. I can feel it." She explained walking back to the bed with Oliver close behind her.
Oliver pulled her by the arm before she had a chance to lie down. "We are not staying in here. If you are sick, you'll get worse in this cold." He pointed out. Cordelia nodded and followed him upstairs. "Have you eaten anything all day?" he asked her as soon as he wrapped her with a blanket and made her sit on the couch. Oliver rolled his eyes when she shook her head. "For the love of God, Cordelia! No wonder you feel so awful." He scolded her and walked to the kitchen.
It didn't take too much time to make her some dry toast and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. He walked back in the living room to see her almost asleep. "Get up, you lazy witch!" he chuckled which brought a smile on Cordelia's white lips. After so much throwing up she had lost all color from her face. She looked like hell. "This will make you feel better." He placed the tray on her lap and sat beside her. She raised the toast to her lips and took a small bite, chewing without an appetite.
She sipped some orange juice to wash down the food. She was eating like a bird torturing the toast for like half an hour. Oliver watched her closely. His mind was going through the conversation they had before. A small hope was stuck in his mind. The doctor thought, or better hoped, that the woman was pregnant. Of course he didn't say anything; he just sat there watching her.
After she was done, he took the tray from her lap and made her lie down on his lap. He turned on the old TV so he could get lost in it instead of thinking about everything else. It was not successful but at least it helped Cordelia fall asleep. She was already feeling better but she was exhausted.
An hour later Oliver noticed that Cordelia had fallen asleep. Slowly he stood up and carried her to their bedroom. He placed her on the bed softly. She was so exhausted that she hadn't even stirred. As soon as he changed into his pyjama pants, he slid next to her and pulled her against his chest. He watched while she slept and realized how right she was when she said that being a witch is the same as being a human. The only difference was the powers.
Soon enough Oliver fell into a deep slumber as well. They both had a long and difficult day but that was past them now. They had both agreed not to keep anything from each other again.
When Sunday morning rolled around, a pierced scream woke Oliver up. His eyes flew open and he sat up. He knew that scream well enough and it came from exactly next to him. Turning to the side, he watched as Cordelia gripped the sheets and screamed at the top of her lungs.
Immediately he panicked and gripped her shoulders. "Delia! What's going on?" he yelled panicking. Tears rolled down Cordelia's open eyes. "Oliver! Make it stop!" she cried arching her back. Cordelia felt like her body was being ripped apart from the inside out. Oliver didn't know what to do. His eyes widen when he looked at Cordelia's hands. They were fading. "Cordelia, your hands." He pointed out feeling useless. Cordelia gathered all her power and looked down at her hands. "No! NO!" she yelled and looked at Oliver panicking.
"The spell must have a due date." She realized and stood up shaking. The pain was starting to become bearable but her legs had disappeared and her arms were following the same fate. "No. I don't want to go back! Please no!" she started crying looking at her body. When Oliver heard her words, he understood completely what was happening. He was losing her and he couldn't do anything about that. "Cordelia, stop fighting it!" He sounded defeated. "You have to go back. You don't belong here." He let a single tear ran down his face. Cordelia knew he was right so she did the only thing she could do at this state.
"I love you. Don't forget about me." She whispered and crashed her lips against his. Oliver responded to the kiss with everything he got. "Never." He whispered in the kiss. With a 'puff' Cordelia was gone from the room. She appeared in her own bedroom back in 2013. She felt so empty and powerless that she didn't even move from the floor, where she had landed. Tears fell freely down her cheeks.
Oliver glared at the spot, where Cordelia had been only minutes earlier. He pulled her pillow and touched it softly. "I love you, my witch." He whispered a single tear falling down his cheek again.
