Ed sits across from her, sporting a red imprint of her hand on hisleft cheeck.
"I'm sorry," he says.
"I know," she says and hands him a cookie.
The cafe they're in is cold, but it's his kiss goodbye that leaves her numb.

"He didn't deserve it, " she starts.
Roy stares at her. "Who and what? "
"Ed. And that I got angry."
"I think it's normal. You were hurt. He wasn't the only one who had to go through all that... mess."
Felicity smiles.
"I saw Ronnie."
He looks at her, waiting.
"He smiled at me."
She whispers, "He never smiles at me."
...
She could go home, or she could go out and find an adventure.
Felicity chooses the latter.
She meets him in a convenience store. They're both looking at the candies and she decides on him.

Her heel breaks as she sneaks into the YMCA pool. Her new buddy is tall and very strong, and he lifts her up over the fence. His arms around her thighs, waist, chest, arms, make her feel hot. His lips press strong on her lips, and he tastes like chlorine and mint.
Her dress clings tight to show him her curves, and they stay close despite the heat and fall into a fever.
When the night ends, she brings the stray cat home.
