Lost and Found chapter 10
Yuri, Hatori and Homura sat and ate lunch. It was okay but it was one of the best things that Homura had eaten in a long time. Her parents sat and she asked about her grandparents. They talked for a long time about them and when lunch was finally over, Homura was feeling very happy. Yuri had told her about her grandpa and how he protected her when she was weak. Homura realized that her parents were weak sometimes too.
As they drove to the clothing shop Homura was feeling much better about her parents than she had in a long time. When they got there, Yuri and Homura got out of the car. "Is Hatori not coming?" Homura asked looking up at Yuri.
"He said that he had something important that he needed to do."
"Oh," Homura said. She wished that he would have stayed but she knew there was an important reason why he left. Her parents always had a reason behind anything that they did.
Yuri and Homura walked into the store and were greated by a very friendly girl. Homura knew it was Aunt Erika. She was loud and small. Homura tried not to whince when she talked but she was just so loud. "Hi Yuri! Why are you here today? Did Hatori finally propose?"
"No, he hasn't proposed yet but the main reason I'm here is to get some new clothes for Homura here."
"Okay. What color?" Erika said more to herself than the others. "White and black." Erika looked over the whole shop and Homura stood waiting. Aunt Erika knew clothes it was just better to be out of the way.
"You really are Hatori's daughter." Yuri whispered to her with a smile.
"Why?" Homura asked.
"He thinks that Erika screams too much. That might be another reason why he didn't come in."
Erika scurried around the shop and flipped through racks of clothes. "Here you go, Homura. The dressing room is back there then come out when your done to let us see how they look." Homura nodded and took the pile from Erika. She went into the dressing room and set the pile down.
She changed into the first outfit in the pile. She looked at herself in the mirror. The skirt was black and the sweater was white with a pink belt. She went outside with an unhappy expression on her face. "That's not it. I can tell by the expression on your face." Erika said and sent her back to try on something else.
The next outift was a pair of black jeans and a white tank top with black polka dots and a belt around the middle of the tank. She went out again. "What do you think?" Yuri asked as they tried to read Homura's expression.
"I don't know how many things we can get."
Yuri replied "As many as you want."
Homura looked at herself in the mirror and liked the look. "I like it but I want to try on the rest." Yuri nodded.
After a few more okay outfits, Homura got to the last one in the pile. It was a black dress some lace on the bottom, a little white lace at the top and a little black ribbon. She put the dress on over her head and zipped up the back. She looked into the mirror and smiled. The dress fit her perfectly and the skirt move gracefully as she twirled in the dressing room. She went outside with a bright smile on her face. "Your expression speaks for itself." Erika said at a lower volume that normal.
"Homura you really look beautiful." Yuri said.
"Thank you." Homura said and swung the skirt again. "Would it be possible for me to wear it out?" Homura asked Erika.
"Of course!" Erika said with a smile and bounced over to the register where Yuri paid for the clothes. Hatori walked inside just as Erika was handing the bag of clothes to Yuri. "Hi Hatori!" Erika said waving with a giant smile and running over and hugging Hatori. Homura stood there and watched. She had never even done that to Hatori and he was her own father. Erika got off a minute later and returned to her place behind the counter as Hatori came over to where Yuri and Homura were standing.
"Find anything?" he asked Homura.
"Yeah, this dress." Homura said as she put on her coat and gloves.
"It looks nice." He said as they waved goodbye to Erika and went back to the car. "Yuri could you pick up a bouquet from the Hanasaki Flower Shop? I'll drop you off."
"Alright. Are they for the office?" Yuri asked as Hatori started the car. Hatori nodded and turned off onto the street. They arrived there in a couple of minutes and Hatori dropped Yuri off at the door.
"The flowers weren't just for the office. I'm going to propose to your mom after dinner tonight." Hatori reached back and pulled out a bag and handed it to Homura. "I got you a present. You are my daughter." He said the last sentence softly and Homura felt a great love welling up inside her for her father.
She pushed aside the tissue paper that had been placed around the object in the bag. Homura pulled out a light purple colored sea horse stuffed animal that had something around its neck. She gently lifted off a silver charm bracelet and looked at the charms. "I picked a charm for Yuri, your brother, you and me. I didn't know what to get for your younger brother and sister though. I picked a purple diamond for you, a moon for your mom, and a music note for your brother since you said your brother was a famous singer."
Homura studied the bracelet. "So the seahorse is for you?"
Hatori nodded. "Remember how I said that I turned into an animal. I turned into a seahorse."
Homura looked up at her dad and could see that he said it with some effort as if he didn't like to admit it. "I...I love them." Homura said with a smile. "This has been one of best days ever." She said with overwhelming happiness.
Hatori smiled a small smile. "I'm glad you love them."
Yuri finally came out with a large bouquet of purple and white flowers. "Sorry it took so long."
"It's okay. I just gave Homura something that I bought while I was out."
"Oh what did you get?"
"Hatori gave me a purple seahorse stuffed animal and a charm bracelet." Homura showed Yuri the bracelet as Hatori started driving to the next place.
"Where are we going now?" Yuri asked as she handed the charm bracelet back to Homura.
"To dinner."
Just a few minutes later, they were pulling into the parking lot of a fancy restaurant. "I'm not dressed up enough to eat here."
"Yes you are." Hatori said pulling out a light purple dress that looked similar to the dress she wore before she transformed.
"Did you buy this for me?" Hatori nodded. "It's beautiful." Yuri said and lightly kissed Hatori on the cheek. Without knowing it, Homura smiled. "I'll change in the bathroom."
"Okay." Hatori said as Yuri walked inside.
Hatori got out and helped Homura out of the car. She didn't want to leave the seahorse stuffed animal and charm bracelet but she couldn't bring them into the restaurant.
"Table for three." Hatori said as Yuri came out bathroom dressed in the fancy dress. The three sat down at a table in a quiet room in the restaurant. The dinner was like lunch with some conversation as different courses were brought out.
Right after the salad was brought out, Hatori turned to Yuri. "Yuri, I didn't just go out to get Homura a charm bracelet." He took a ring out of his pocket. "I'll propose formally later but I wanted to ask you while we were here." Yuri covered her mouth in shock. "Yuri, would you marry me?"
"Of course." Yuri said and Hatori placed the ring on her finger.
Homura smiled. Homura knew that no matter what else happens today, it would be one of the best days that Homura would ever remember.
