"Kumori Bransu and IyasuTamashi!" the proctor announced to the stands.
Kumori and Iyasu both turned towards each other. They knew that they had to give it their all but neither truly wanted to hurt the other. Standing they both made their way down into the arena. The handshake was cold and built a truly well felt amount of tension. Taking their starting positions Kumori didn't even bother opening his book and Iyasu refrained from eating any cake. The drop of the proctor's hand though signaled something primal in both of them.
Iyasu immediately drew a scroll and let loose a volley of kunai and shuriken. Kumori had no problem dodging the attack and closing with the girl. As he began to let loose punch after punch his stance dropped to that of a praying mantis. His jabs became quicker and Iyasu found herself having a tougher time blocking each attack.
He's true hand to hand. Iyasu thought to herself. Im going to need some kind of weapon to defend myself with.
Jumping back while using her mouth and a free hand to open a scroll, Iyasu activated a seal and had a set of nunchakus appear. Landing she waited for Kumori to rush her again. As he closed she began spinning the weapon about her. The fists began flying towards her and she found that now she had no issue blocking the attacks.
Oh so she thinks just getting one weapon out will help her? Kumori asked himself. Fine maybe the Drunken Fist Style will handle her.
Taking a step back Kumori dropped his hands to his sides and drooped his shoulders. Then setting his mind down to a lower thought he found himself ready to fight again. Charging but also slithering forward he began a renewed assault on Iyasu. The girl had while waiting for him to attack pulled out a piece of cake to sate her hunger.
The first punch came at her face which she caught with the free stick of the nunchaku. The second punch was to her side again blocked by the nunchaku. The third strike though was a kick to her chest which in her surprise Iyasu brought up her cake to block by mistake. Time slowed down for Iyasu, Kumori, and Koji as the cake flew from her hand and to the ground of the arena. As its red and white frosting graced the dirt Iyasu's eyes traveled up to lock with Kumori's.
Im a dead man aren't i? Kumori yelled in his head.
He's a dead man isn't he? Koji asked himself.
He's dead! Iyasu screamed inside.
Unrolling one of her scrolls faster than Kumori could blink Iyasu activated one of the seals and now held a Kanabo in her hands.
"The one rule. The one rule I always tell you and Koji." Iyasu said while patting her hand with the weapon.
"Don't touch the cake." Kumori said with her before the first blow landed.
It only took her mere minutes to smack the boy around, an intense rage powering her and an amazing fear keeping him at bay. The proctor soon stepped in and called the match in Iyasu's favor. Medics took Kumori off the field assuring he would be back by the last round of the day as Iyasu went back to the stands passing by Koji on the way.
"Koji." She said stopping him.
"What is it Iyasu?" he asked.
"Win this. I want to fight you in the final match and not that Hot Springs kid." Iyasu said a smile back on her face as cake was shoved into her mouth.
"Im going to do my best Iyasu but I make no promises." Koji said continuing down the path towards the sixth fight of the exam…
