Victoria. Annxx: Right, I've never had to experience that first hand, but I know some who have and they have said that it was one of the scariest things in the world. Thank you so much! I thought that it was about time that Scott got some time in with Alan too! lol
Guest: Aww shucks, thanks so much! **Blushes**
SandieBrody: Thanks for the comments and I'm super syked that you enjoyed it!
Laesk: Thanks! I got a couple in the works, so maybe they should be up soon, if everything works out!
PippaFrost: LOL your wish is my command! I honestly think you've commented on almost all my stories, thank you so much, your the !
EmilyJaden101: LOL! I'm really happy you loved it! In most of the stories that I've read and stuff, and some I've wrote, its always that his family has a bad relationship with him. But then what family has a great relationship without any flaws? What family is perfection? I thought it would be a cool change! As for the reference, it kind of goes both ways, I did write a story about them watching the footage, its called 'Reactions' but it was one of my first works and I wasn't all to proud of it after going back and rereading it, so I do plan on rewriting it at some point (maybe now lol) as a chapter for this story! Its really cool that you caught all that, honestly! I like to think that Alan and his family, in particularly his brothers, have a better relationship then most give to them! Thanks so much for the feedback, its means a lot!
Guest: LOL thank you!
After everything that had happened that day, everyone had agreed that it would have been best to avoid the topic of The Hood, or his attack, until they were all able to understand and comprehend what had gone on, what had happened.
That first night everyone had honestly gone their own ways, basking in the knowledge that they had all survived and in the hope that everything would return to normal.
It was a week later and everything was still hanging on by a thread.
Alan avoided his brothers at all costs, which was hard when it was only three of them in the house, but with John still down from Five, it wasn't an easy task to stay out of at least on brothers path. Him, Fermat, and Tintin had become closer, having a secret that they would hold onto for the rest of their lives (or at least until it was decided that the others needed to know what had occurred when it was just them three on their own devices against an egocentric maniac). They had been almost inseparable before the attack, but after it was almost impossible to find one of them on their own.
Everyone on the Island knew, or had a pretty good idea, of the subject that kept them together. That they would be caught whispering about but would immediately become tight lipped when seen or asked about it. John didn't like talking about what he had experienced when Five was hit, so it wasn't surprising when the youngest three on the island were tight lipped about their ordeal.
Until it became concerning (and annoying, how could they help if nobody would tell them about it). When Jeff Tracy ad announced that he wanted Brains to gather the footage so they could all see what it was that had actually happened when the adults weren't around to protect the youngest, it had caused an uproar among the three.
It took Brains three days to collect the footage and compile it.
In the mean time, The four Tracy brothers had tried to at least get the youngsters to give them a preview for what they were about to witness, so that they wouldn't be caught as unawares as they would be. Gordon had cornered them when they had taken a dip in the pool, upon spotting the red headed Tracy, the three were quick in hushing their conversation and exiting with lame excuses that Ohana was calling them. Virgil had claimed that he needed to know what they had sustained for treatment of any injuries, which was quickly shot down in the form of Alan denying any sort of ailment with claims of being in perfect health and that he shouldn't worry his self.
John and Scott were both shot down just as fast, if not faster.
What ever it was that had happened to the kids while the Tracy's (minus Alan of course) were trapped up on Five and the others parent's were being held hostage was enough for the youngsters to try not to talk about with anyone other then themselves, almost as if should they not talk about it then it would eventually go away.
Except it didn't, if anything, the silence made the others even more curious.
Three days passed faster then anyone found possible and the islands inhabitants found themselves in Jeff Tracy's office. Tintin and her parents on one couch, Fermat and Alan on her left, the Four oldest Tracy boys piled together on the large sofa that had gone from being out by the pool (how it got there was a mystery to them), With Mr. Tracy himself and Brains behind the desk, pulling up the feeds for the world (or at least the world that was Tracy Island) to see.
"Before we start, I just want to say that We," Jeff indicated him and the other parents, "have already seen it, and even thought I know there are certain people here (cue looks at the three in the corner) that would not like it to be seen, I as well as Brains and the Kyrano's believe that it would be a good idea to shed some light on the goings on of the attack they we were not a part of"
The kids looked nervous, but didn't object, with any misgivings being left unsaid Jeff nodded at Brains. Pushing a couple buttons there was some crackling as a camera down by the beach front moved towards the motion of a person, a boy, moving around in the distance. It zoomed in.
It was Alan.
Kicking at the sand and glaring out at the ocean, Alan Tracy was obviously angry.
He picked up a rock and swiftly pulled a small metal device from his pock-
"Wait"
Everyone turned to look at Virgil, who in turn was looking between the small device in Alan's hand on the screen, and his brother sitting across the room from him.
"Whats that?"
Alan looked anywhere but at Virgil, so Fermat answered the question for him.
"Its a sk-ski-skimmer. Alan ma-mad invented it during our la-las the vac-vaca break before sp-spring break"
Virgil nodded, trying to catch Alan's eye, but failing.
Brains pushed play once more.
"I wish I would have stayed at school... At least I can insult the bullies back there when they tease me and not feel bad about it...Blew up one school, and it wasn't even my fault (which was true, it had been proven that another student had mixed up the chemicals, but 'bullies'? Alan's three earth bound brothers frowned) but of course I have to be reminded about it at every minute when I come home, don't I"
Alan launched a rock out in the ocean, watching as it skipped over the crests of waves until it disappeared from sight.
The young Tracy looked up at the sky, a look crossing his face, no doubt watching as Three was shooting up to Five.
"Hang on, Alan whats with that look?"
Alan looked up at Scott, debating on if he should answer or not, Fermat's elbow being driven into his side really motivated him to speak.
"Its just that... I know Johns rotation wasn't until two weeks after Spring Break was over, and I may not be very bright, but I'm not stupid. The only reason you'd go up early was if something was wrong"
It was John who answered, "So you knew that Five had been hit?"
"No, I figured that you'd eaten some bad chocolate. I didn't know what was wrong John, but I knew that something wasn't right. Especially after finding that stuff on the cone of One. It was ju-"
"What stuff?"
That was right, John didn't know about any of that. Then again, with him being up on Five, the elder blonde Tracy missed out on a lot of stuff. That, he thought, was going to have to change.
"When me and Ferm went down to One during dinner, before we went to fire her up, we found this gel substance on the cone. It was weird. Almost like it was making a humming or pulsing noise. Looking back on it, I assume it was a tracking device that lead The Hood here"
Jeff looked guilty for a brief moment, remembering how Alan had tried to tell him about it and how he wouldn't listen to him.
Fermat came running down the beach, and Tintin from the forest.
The younger was screaming over and over again that Thunderbird Five had been hit.
"ALAN! THUNDERBIRD FIVE HAS BEEN HIT! THUNDERBIRD FIVE HAS BEEN HIT!"
Alan reached forward to grab Fermat by the shoulders, as if to steady and calm the younger teen down.
"Ok ok ok don't panic, don't panic"
There is a loud noise and a large splash. The kids and the camera spun around to see a large submarine making break through and coming closer and closer to the coast of the island.
"On the other hand..."
All three kids looked at each other and then back out at the submarine mere feet from the beach front.
"RUN!"
The last thing the camera saw was the kids running back into the jungle and the submarine making land fall.
So that was how they did it? A submarine?
"Dad, don't we have detectors in the water though? How come we didn't notice them?"
Jeff looked over at Scott,"Yes we do have detectors in the water, but they were out of range until we hit the atmosphere. You can't see what isn't there"
"Did they find us because of Alan's little stunt in One?"
"No, the substance that was found on the cone of One was transmitting a signal, that gave away our location"
With the silence, Brains figured it was a perfect time to continue.
"There are not very many cameras in the jungle, as we don't usually venture off the already made foot paths, and the children avoided the most of the places with the few cameras that were placed in the jungle."
"So, the only ones who actually know what had happened in the jungle are them?"
John pointed at the three young teens in the corner, silencing their whispered conversation after seeing that the attention was once again on them. Brains nodded in reply to John's question, and John nodded in response to Brains confirming his suspicions.
The video was continued.
The picture panned out as the kids walked through the brush, a conversation being spoken in soft levels among them. Tintin stopped walking, causing the boys to stop next to her.
"We have to do something!"
The doubt clouded each set of young eyes, but disappeared as soon as it had appeared. They had a mission to do, and complete it they would. Fermat looked as if he were contemplating something, before voicing his thoughts.
"My da-dad's in the con-control room, but ho-how are we go-going to get the-there now?"
Alan's eyes brightened as an idea clearly came to mind.
"The vents!", Alan looked back at his friends, who thought about it for a second before nodding in consent, "Let's go! We have to get a message to my dad"
And they were off running again, jumping over large rocks and climbing in specific areas, where it seemed that they knew where to put each foot as to not slip and fall.
(the video skipped out, but the kids giggled at something, causing everyone to look at them oddly)
The camera in front of the pool deck activated at sensing motion, the kids came sneaking across the deck towards a vent grate, that seemingly came off way too easy.
"Wait wait wait!", This time it was Jeff who interrupted the video as he shot a look a the three sitting across from him, "How did you know that it was that exact vent grate that would come off?"
All eyes were on the young blonde, who was looking innocently out the window at a passing cloud that had some how come to amaze him at the moment. John, and Gordon, smiled at the mini blonde. Knowing (or at least assuming) all too well.
"You've used it before, haven't you Allie?"
Alan simply shrugged and that caused his brothers to laugh.
The scene flipped around as a camera caught the motion of someone sneaking in the vents above the portraits. Zooming in, the camera caught the kids sneaking forward.
"That's it"
Alan was looking down through a vent covering that must have been right above the office. Together the kids lifted the covering off and could be seen upside down as they stuck their heads through it, hidden behind one of the portraits, they were out of sight from any of the bad guys in the room. Somethings were muttered between them, but was too low in volume for the camera to pick up on.
The camera swiveled back around as more motion was sensed, some guards were dragging the other occupants of the island into the room, Tintin gasped as her parents came into view.
"Whose the bald freak?"
(Gordon snorted)
Kyrano said something, but was too far from the camera for the audio receptors to pick it up. They all saw as The Hood did something and Kyrano bent over grabbing at his head, the evil 'bald freak' looked back at the monitor and spoke to the person on the other side.
"..Remember saving the life of my brother, Kyrano"
Tintin's dad spoke into the monitor, "I'm sorry , I though he was dead"
"Take them away"
The Hood was angry, they could tell be the tone of his voice.
"Whoa"
The camera panned around back to the kids, Tintin looked shocked. As did the two boys next to her.
"That makes The Hood my uncle"
"Every family has a-a bl-black she-", Fermat was cut off by a loud sneeze.
Everyone in the room laughed at the random placed sneeze, no doubt caused by the boys allergies being agitated by the dust in the vents. Tintin didn't meet anyone's eyes, nervous on what they would say now that they knew her linage.
"Gee Tintin, I hope you weren't hoping to get a Christmas card from the guy"
She smiled over at Gordon, the joke was lame but the message was there.
"This room is killer for my allergies"
Both Tintin and Alan looked over at Fermat, he looked sort of sheepish. They looked back down and the screen started to go fuzzy and break up.
Brains clicked on buttons and typed in some words, the feed was soon brought back up.
"Apparently the island isn't as secure as you thought"
The Hood sounded agitated again, as he looked down at the desk he sat behind, looking at the pictures.
"Children? Did you find any children?"
A few moments passed and the ugly lady spoke up, "Here they are, In Thunderbird Two's silo, in the loading arm"
Everyone in the room sucked in a breath, concern clouding their features despite the fact that the three young teenagers were sitting alive and in one piece right in front of them.
"Seal them in"
The alarm started to sound, and the scene shifted to the cameras in the silos. The kids jumped down from the loading arm and ran across the large room, heading for the doors.
"The doors, come on you guys, lets go"
"Come on! Go! Go!"
Thunderbird Three's doors shut with a thud, however, not being deterred in the slightest, Alan turned in the other direction, pulling on Tintin's sleeve as they turned direction for Thunderbird One's silo. They made it just in time to have the doors slam shut in their faces.
"Nooo!"
"They've got us trapped! Now what are we going to do?"
Alan was ahead of them though, already having formed an idea of escape.
"If we can get into the Thunderbird One silo, we can escape through the service tunnel, but we need a plan."
(The four eldest Tracy boys and their dad leaned forward, closer to the screen, waiting to hear the plan that their youngest would come up with)
The three friends walked away from the door a few feet, before coming to a stop as it eventually slowly came to them as to what they could do. Alan took lead.
"I'll use the Thunderizer on the door"
The focus snapped to the elevator as it started its descent down to them.
"You guys get the goons with the Firefly"
(They sat back, it wasn't a bad plan. But it was totally an 'Alan' plan)
"Alan, this equipment is only supposed to be used in an emergency"
All movement stopped as the older two of the trio looked down at their third member.
"I guess this qualifies"
"Yah"
Despite the tense situation, Fermat's try in pointing that out had only made them all laugh. Fermat blushed and looked away from the prying, laughing, eyes. But as fast as it had become lighthearted (in a way) it had become intense just as quickly. They could all see as the elevator got closer to the ground level with the bad guys waiting inside to get to the kids in the silos.
Alan ran off in one direction and the other two ran the other way. Tintin climbed up on top of the Firefly and Fermat climbed inside. Tintin shouted down to her friend in the drivers seat.
"Here they come! Fermat, can you drive this thing"
There was a moment of silence, before, "Uh...No.."
(This caused another round of chuckles)
Fermat accidentally drove over a bump and Tintin rocked, almost falling, as they turned a corner.
"Hey! Watch it!"
Fermat's voice came faint from inside the large machine.
"I took Micro Biology, not Drivers Ed"
They came to a stop in front of, as close as allowable, to the elevator. The head Tintin sat on spun around to face the goons that would soon come out of the elevator and into the silo. The camera swung around in time to catch Alan drift out of its view and to the closed doors of Thunderbird One's Silo. It quickly swung back to the other kids as the motion from the elevator doors opening caught its attention.
"Set it to maximum"
"Got it"
Three men ran out, only to come face to face with the foam cannon. Tintin (with a look of ill-concealed glee) pushed 'fire'.
"Tintin you look oddly too happy to be doing that"
The teenage girl simply smiled over at Gordon from her position in between Alan and Fermat. The red head smiled back, they would make a pretty good team.
Now, if only he could convince her to switch sides from the younger teens to his.
The footage flickered and skipped a little before it started up again. The kids had gotten into the hanger and were trying to open the service hatch door, but every time Alan entered the code 'access denied' rang out into the dark lit room. (Scott grimaced in guilt, he had changed the pin after Alan and Fermat had gotten into his 'Bird)
Alan turned to look over at something on the other side, no doubt the other two, who were probably saying something to him. All of a sudden The Hood appeared in the doors window. Alan turned slowly, as if not really in control of what he was doing at the moment, and made eyes contact with the evil man.
"Alan.. You can run if you want"
The young blonde said nothing, and The Hood took a breath as he continued.
"Were you surprised to hear what your father did to me? It is frightening when we realize that our parents aren't perfect.", The Hood took another step forward (There was some unmistakable growls and muttered threats of bodily harm that Alan was sure was not even humanly possible)," But, perhaps, you had already suspected that of your father. Why do you think he built those magnificent machines? Do you suppose it was guilt? Because he let your mother die?"
Alan shook his head taking a step back, expression unreadable, his eyes hard. As if fighting an unknown enemy from with in himself.
"Open the door Alan"
The Hood sounded bored, Alan shook his head and backed up again. This time the man glared, anger taking over his bored features.
"Open. The. Door."
Alan shook his head and turned slightly away from The Hood, to look over at his friends as he called, "We can't go this way. He's there"
The Hood opened the door with a simply glance of his eyes and walked into the room as the trio stumbled away towards the center of the silo.
Fermat stumbled down onto the exhaust vent cover, "What are we going to do Alan?"
"I don't know. I'm thinking"
The Hood was standing in front of the Control Panel for the silo, and Alan's eyes locked onto a familiar red button. His eyes never leaving it as they were corralled under the bottom of Thunderbird One.
"Keep backing up, I've got an idea"
He pulled out a small metal object and shot a rock at the man before them, he missed.
"That's you idea?"
Tintin was looking at Alan as if he had grown another head. The Hood chuckled at them and took a step forward.
"Its not me your angry at Alan"
Alan looked at him as if he were an idiot.
"It's not you I'm aiming at"
He didn't miss this time.
"Nice shot kiddo!"
"Nicely played Sprout, nicely played"
Alan looked down, blushing, under his brothers praise. They smiled as they saw it.
The fell and screamed as the vents gave out underneath them.
The Hood was obviously angered and his shout echoed around the large silo.
"GET THEM"
The large man, Mullion, touched the communicator in his ear.
"Transom, fire up Thunderbird One"
The Tracy's who weren't there, and the other adults, watched in horror.
"And set it to broil"
The video cut off, becoming a race of ants across the screen. Everyone was silent, most of the eyes in the room focused on the three teens at the one corner.
How had they gotten away? How hadn't they been burned alive?
Brains excused himself almost silently, Fermat followed behind the scientist, after sending Alan a look of farewell.
Tintin and her family took their leave next.
The only one left was Alan, in a room alone with his family. Silently the teen stood and made to walk over and out the door. But as soon as he got in front of the large couch that had his brothers sitting on it, he found a hand wrapped around his wrist and another grasping the side of his shirt, as he was pulled down into the the cluster of chests and laps.
Arms wrapped around him, and held him in place. He didn't need to see who it was to see that it was Scott who had drawn him into a hug. From his spot, head first, in Scott's arms, Alan felt someone trying to lift the side of his shirt.
"Kiddo, how weren't you burnt to a crisp? Are you alright? Hurt anywhere?"
Leave it to Virgil to ask the important questions. Alan felt Scott's hand cover the back of his head gently before he was pulled away. Alan sighed and leaned back, barely aware of John lifting and lowering his arm over his younger brother's chest as Alan leaned back into his side.
"We fell into the ocean before any of the flames actually hit us full on. Some licked at my back as I fell, but its just superficial so its ok"
Nobody said anything for a long time after that. Alan never got up from his position curled up among his older brothers. After a while Gordon looks down and nudged John's other side. Nodding down at their youngest, John followed his eye line to see Alan sound asleep.
His feet stretched out across Scott's legs and resting in Virgil's lap. His had resting in John's lap, having laid it there at some point in the silence that filled the room. They all felt that they should still be firing questions at the youngest, worrying over him, and asking him what had happened after that. But looking down at him sleeping like a small child after having stayed up way past their bed time, well, it froze any more questions they still had.
Sure they would ask more about it, but later, when it wasn't still so fresh on their minds.
But, for now, they were ok in simply being together. Like a family.
Like they should be.
So its taken me like three days to write this, and is now well past midnight. So I'm sorry that the ending is as bad as I think it is!
