Sorry I haven't posted in a while, was having some medical problems but I'm up and running again and will try to post as much as I can! Hope you are all enjoying my story!
After tucking the sleeping girl in and kissing her forehead, James nodded to the door to the other boys. Silently gesturing for them to leave the room. All three silently made their way to James's room without saying a word.
"What do you think could have happened that she would be afraid I would hate her?" James asked?
"Maybe she killed someone." Remus replied. The other boys both gave him a skeptical look. How could such a sweet girl be a murderer? "No really hear me out, she was missing, probably held captive somewhere, she gets away covered in marks, bleeding and unconscious. What if there was a fight and she killed her kidnapper and that's how she managed to get away." The three friends were quiet for a while, wondering if that is what happened. She never did say where she was or how she got away. Could she have gotten away by murder? What could have been happening to her and did they really want to know?
"Maybe we should push her into talking? Not give her a choice but to talk to us about it. She might get mad at first but she might feel relieved to finally get everything off her chest." Sirius said looked up. Even he didn't look to convinced it was the right way to go about things.
"How could we get her to open up though?" James asked. The boys spent all night coming up with plans on how to get Juliet to open up to them and whether they thought she would ever forgive them for their plans. The marauders all hoped that the plan would work and she would eventually forgive them.
Juliet woke a few hours later and headed to the garden. She wasn't ready to see anyone. She knew she would have to at least explain somethings to James. She needed to learn to trust again, just didn't know how to do it. Juliet sat staring at the pond until the sun disappeared and then sat some more. She had been out there for hours and finally realized how cold she was feeling. As she headed back into the large home she saw the boys all huddled on the couch in the living room playing exploding snaps.
"Hey love, wanna come play a game with us?" Sirius asked looking up from the floor.
"If you guys don't mind me joining than why not. What game are we playing?" She asked as she sat down in the chair across from the boys. The boys shared a glance silently asking each other if they were sure they wanted to do this.
"Truth or dare, with a little twist of fire whiskey." Sirius said grabbing the bottle from under the couch. Juliet brows knitted together as she bit her lip in contemplation. Deep know she knew playing this game could go very badly for her but at the same time she wanted to have a little fun and surely they wouldn't trick her into opening up to them. She gave them a small smile and shrugged her shoulders.
"Alright, sounds fun." Juliet said reaching for the glass of whiskey that Remus was handing out.
"Great, I'll go first, um Remus truth or dare." James said smirking over to his friend.
"Dare." Remus smirked back
"I dare you to go floo call Blaire Goodstein and tell her a poem about your love for her smelly feet." James said with a laugh. Everyone laughed as Remus walked over to the floo.
"Oh hello Mr. Goodstein. May I speak to Blaire please? Hey Blaire I err wrote you a poem and just wanted to recite it for you really fast… err yeah so here it goes… Ode to Blaire, with the finest of hair, she has the prettiest green eyes but her feet are what I love, with a smell that could kill flies. K bye Blaire." Remus quickly ended the floo call and jumped back into his seat on the couch.
"Doesn't Blaire have brown eyes?" Sirius asked? Everyone snickered and took another drink of their whiskey. Juliet felt a little off, which was strange because she only had two small sips of whiskey.
"Ok, my turn Juliet. Where were you all this time?" Remus blurted out, knowing the effects of the Veritaserum they added to her glass would have kicked in by now.
"I was with a muggle family for a while that Dumbledore planted memories in of me being their biological daughter until I turned 11 then I was at Hogwarts." Juliet said horrified that she couldn't stop the words from tumbling from her mouth.
"How could you have been at Hogwarts, we would have seen you." James asked.
"I was there but 20 years from now. I was kidnapped and sent into the future." Juliet closed her eyes to stop the tears as the mouths tumbled from her mouth.
"How did you get back here? Why were you sent to a muggle family instead of back with us?" James asked
"You, mom and dad were dead James." Juliet whispered. "Dumbledore found me and told me that it wasn't safe for anyone to know who I was because before I was sent here I heard my kidnappers say that a prophesy was made about the potter twins and that separated it couldn't come true. Then they gave me to Lord Malfoy to send into the future. Please don't make me tell you anymore. Please." Juliet cried.
"How did they die Juliet? Can we stop it from happening? What happens in the future that makes you so afraid to trust and how did you get back?" Sirius asked trying not to cry himself. He couldn't image a life without his best friend.
Juliet looked pained as her voice started again on its own accord. "James and his wife are murdered by Voldemort and Voldemort disappears for 10 years after trying to kill his 1 year old son Harry. Mom and dad die of dragon pox. Yes we can stop how James and his wife die but I don't think we can safe mom and dad. The future is a terrible place. The muggles I was sent to life with hated me because I was different. I became good friends with Severus Snape who was my teacher, he saved me from the muggles and I lived with him after my second year during the summers. We worked together to keep your son safe James. I did my best to take care of him I really did even though we were the same age and he was always getting into some type of trouble. The war gets bad." Juliet turned away from the boys as she kept talking, feeling the effects of the potion wearing off but feeling so much better getting some of her problems off her shoulders. "Voldemort wanted to kill Harry because he was thought to be the only person who could kill him. He was called the Boy Who Lived because he somehow survived the killing curse and had only a scar on his forehead from the incident. So many people died, so much pain and torture and then there was a battle at Hogwarts. We fought hard but there was so many of them. I found Severus in the shrieking shack. He was dying and with his dying breath gave me the potion to send myself back here. He was my best friend and I watched him die. He died James protecting the son of a man who tormented him during school. He sent me back to you and I don't know if I can do everything he sent me back here to do but I'll do my best, even if it kills me. I've been through worst things than death." Juliet wrapped her arms around herself as if trying to keep the pieces of herself together. "Happy now? Happy you know some of my secrets?" she asked as she got up and ran from the room.
