"Blood is Thicker than Water"

GOOD END

Chapter 9: "Goodbye Again"

"Sotsugyou (Graduation)"

Yutaka Ozaki –

What has graduating taught us?

What's stays with us aside from memories?

All humans are bound, if we're all just fragile lambs;

are you the spokesman for the fragile lambs, teacher?

Where should we direct our anger?

What's gonna bind me from here on?

How many more times must I graduate,

till I reach who I really am?

No one realizes that our freedom is a concoction,

our days of struggle will end.

We'll graduate from this control

from this battle.

A few months later from Chapter 8

"Tetsuya Makabe," a middle aged man called out as he stood on a wooden podium wearing a dapper grey suit.

"Yes!" the young man responded standing up and marched toward the platform where a young woman held a tray of diplomas for the principal to reward for the hard-working graduates. The young student accepts his diploma and bowed to his principal and homeroom teacher before briskly walking back to his seat with thoughts of;

"Don't trip,"

"Don't fall,"

"Please don't act like an ass in front of Meiko just play it cool," swirling in his mind. The sweating graduate found his seat and curiously looked over at the two empty seats next to him. He thought that it was very strange that the two seats between him and his childhood crush were empty.

He wondered if it could be fate as if some celestial being blessed young Makabe to admire Meiko's dazzling appearance as she will soon abandon her adolescence and accept her diploma that's the only reason for it, there's no other answ-

"Mako Mankanshoku," the principal named with a smile.

The principal let out a brief cough. "Mako Mankanshoku?" still no response. "She must be asleep like she always is," he chuckled "Um…let's move on to Miss Ryuko Ma-"

The frail principal nearly fell off the podium, from a loud clatter as the doors of the auditorium flew off the hinges. At the two open steel doors where a pile of bodies a moped (now missing its tyre) and a dog wearing a tuxedo. Out of the pile up like a zombie rising out of its grave was a young dishevelled woman with a red streak in her hair.

"S-sorry we're late!" the young woman apologised, as she climbed out of the wreckage. "This bozo forgot to turn on the alarm," she added driving her fist downward to what appeared to be the patriarch of the family.

"Ahh! I already said sorry a million times already Ryuko!" he weakly answered as a tear escaped from his eyelid.

"Whatever, Mako you okay?" Ryuko asked looking around for her companion.

"I'm here Ryuko," Mako responded who was underneath the wrecked moped. "We're sorry for being late Mr Sayama," Mako yelled as Ryuko helped her out of the moped.

The principal took a while to gather himself before approaching the microphone. "Never have I been gladder having two students graduate from us like you girls, Mr Mankanshoku I'm sure you are more than willing to pay for the damages," Mr Sayama responded with a smile with his obvious-not-so-obvious toupee slightly askew.

"What me!? you gotta be-"

"Yes, yes my husband is more than willing to pay for the damages," Sukuyo responded covering her husband's mouth.

"Excellent without further delay, let us proceed with this graduation," the principal stated. "Mako Mankanshoku."

"Yes?" Mako asked confused as she and Ryuko walked up to their seats with two rows filled with snickering and jeering surrounded them.

"Your diploma, Madam,"

"Oh…oh I mean, Yes!" she responded properly eliciting more laughter from the gathered audience.

The proceedings continued as plan as drawl as it was it was a very momentous occasion for all. For the staff refrain from showing signs of sadness as another class they worked hard with leaves them and the parents who have watched their children go wishing, begging and praying this was only their elementary school graduation and want to do it all again.

For students the moments of sadness arose for those abandoning their friends and comrades they have established during their adolescent years. Now they embark in a new chapter the small period they have between now and heading to either college or some other path for reflection and ponder what life they want to live.

After Barazo came back with the family car they tossed the moped and its missing tyre to the trunk and hopped on back for the drive back home. As the usual banter occurred in the car Ryuko looked out blankly at the window where the large stretch of the oceanside of Kanagawa sprawled all the way over the horizon. After every minute Ryuko looked down at her phone waiting for something, anything that would cause her phone to vibrate.

"Ryuko dear," Sukuyo asked in front of her in the passenger's seat in the car.

"Er… what's wrong Mrs Mankanshoku," Ryuko answered early dropping her phone.

Sukuyo simply gave Ryuko the only motherly smile Ryuko has known through the reflection of the side-view mirror. "You just can't wait to see her again can't you," she asked.

A light blush began to grow on the delinquent's face, "Uh… who do ya mean?"

"Oh you know who, and one more thing sweetie," she added as she reached behind her through the gap between her seat and the car and grasped Ryuko's palm. "Mako and I think you two are a very cute couple, you really make one another happy," she ended letting go of Ryuko's hand and joined in on Barazo's and Mataro's conversation.

Ryuko's face was fully crimson from not only Mako but her adopted mother knowing of the relationship between her and her sister. Her thumping heart paused as an elbow next to her slightly nudged her.

"It was pretty obvious Ryuko," her best friend whispered with a wide toothy grin.

"What do ya mean obvious how did ye figure it out?" Ryuko questioned like a frustrated detective.

"Well when we talked about her you always sounded happier and at Christmas when she came to visit you were always next to her…" Mako listed.

"Don't forget the hour long phone calls," Sukuyo added.

"Oh yeah and a whole other stuff," Mako emphasized. Ryuko was dumbfounded at embarrassed at this shocking revelation and had so much more questions, however there was one important one she must ask them.

"Don't…don't ya think it's wrong?" she asked.

"Well…if it isn't hurting anybody then I think its fine, also as you're my best friend in the entire world I want you to be super happy!" Mako resolved and gave Ryuko a small hug.

The angst and worry of her and her sister's secret that has tormented Ryuko for months, have finally washed away as Ryuko wrapped her arm around one of her most loyal friends. The sole thing that petrified her the most was how her family, friends and society would react knowing of her and her love's relationship.

Mako knowing her "bestie" better than anyone else she knew Ryuko worried about the ones she loved. As much as Ryuko gagged to admit the Mankanshokus, the elite four, the two weirdos from nudist beach and her are all the family she has now. The last thing she wanted was for her selfishness to ruin that. Ryuko knew now what she must do in order to escape her doubts of becoming an item with the one she loved the most.

"Oi, Honey are those two okay in the back?" Barazo asked, concerned.

"Just girl problems," Sukuyo responded lightly to her husband.

"Gross," Mataro gagged.

The clan pulled up to their familiar home/back alley clinic, no longer in the slums of Honnouji, however now relocated on the shady outskirts of the industrial district. The family stepped out and entered their house.

"Congratulations!" bellowed by a multitude of voices from the small living room. Inside were the Sanageyama, Inumuta, Jakuzure, Soroi and Iori all present under a decorative banner.

"Oh wow!" yelped Mako in total shock leaping up in the air for a large group hug which was all to no avail, instantly face planting on the ground. "Ouchie where's Gamagori?" she grumbled as she composed herself.

"I'm over here Mankanshoku," Gamagori said with his eyes poking through the window at the back wall. "I'm afraid I'm far too large for this house and wish not to risk breaking anything, forgive me," Gamagori explained.

"Oh cram it toad you're bringing down my buzz let's drink!" Nonon suggested handing a glass to Mako to which she gladly accepted.

Ryuko looked around and realised there was somebody else missing, before she could make her way to her room she was stopped by a light tap on her shoulder.

"Pardon me, Miss Ryuko," an elderly voice uttered.

"Oh, hey Soroi, ya know you don't have to call me that "Missy" stuff ya know?" Ryuko replied scratching the back of her neck.

"My apologies, the lady wished for me to pass on this message to you," Soroi informed handing Ryuko a small folded note. The red-streaked woman unfolded the note and it read;

Dear Ryuko,

I apologise so very much for not being there for your graduation many trivial things have come up on today of all days, I will try my utmost to meet you at the party as soon as possible, I promise.

Love, S

"Love?" Ryuko thought to herself and blushed at the beautifully written four letters that made her heart race.

"It is a rather stressful day for her, she broke her third phone this month from…dealing with her anger," Soroi explained. "Ms…I apologise, Ryuko, I know as an old man I may not possess the knowledge of the relationships between two women or sisters for that matter," Soroi continued.

"Wait, the fuck does he know about it as well? Does everyone in the world knew I slept with my freaking sister?" Ryuko screamed internally.

"However I have known the lady for her whole life and she has been waiting for you, for a very long time. As a servant, as her servant, my duty is to fulfil every wish she has requested," The old man sighed and inhaled once more, "One wish, was that she wanted her baby sister back and…I couldn't. The face she made at that time has been burned into my old withering memory for a very long time," Soroi recounted brushing his eyes with a handkerchief. "And now thanks to you Ryuko I have fulfilled her wish and she couldn't be any happier and that is all I ever wanted," Soroi quivered struggling to keep his servant posture.

Before Ryuko began to bawl she leapt onto the old man's shoulder and embraced him. "Thank you…so much for looking after her," she cried quietly not wanting to create attention.

"Thank you for Ryuko for helping me retire," he chuckled as he patted the younger woman's back.

Ryuko sniffled and dried her tears with her sleeve. "Wha…retire?" she asked.

"I was forever to serve Miss Kiryuin until either I die or when I properly completed every request. Here, Ryuko it may not seem that much of a graduation gift however I hope you accept it," he responded handing her an empty snow white teacup and matching saucer. "I now hand over my service to Miss Kiryuin onto you. You may now stand by her side for eternity or, 'til death do ye part," he added with a short chuckle and a wink.

The shakiness of Ryuko's hands made it appear as if the cup was dancing on the saucer." Uh…t-thanks Soroi," she thanked. "Does anyone else know about us?" Ryuko asked sheepishly.

"Not to my knowledge I'm afraid, remember they all look after their leader's best interests I'm sure you will be fine Ryuko," Soroi ensured putting Ryuko slightly at ease. "Now if you excuse me, I have a flight back to Hawaii to catch," he informed as he made his leave.

"We'll visit ya okay!" Ryuko responded waving her hand at the departing old man. "Alright one down five more to go," Ryuko thought to herself. "Weird I'm getting all nostalgic from Honnouji Academy," she pondered as she gazed at her former enemies interacting with her adoptive family. "Well if I'm gonna do this, I need some alcohol in me," she decided making her way to the kitchen.

After Ryuko manoeuvred herself from the cramped sitting room she grabbed the last can of cider. "Oi Matoi, ya mind passing me a can of those," a masculine voice asked behind Ryuko.

"Sorry Uzu just snagged the last one," Matoi replied cockily waving the can back and forth at Uzu.

"Typical, then just pass me a bottle of Blue Moon there," he instructed pointing at the unopened six pack. Ryuko obliged and tugged a bottle out of the pack and handed it back to the green haired young man. "Listen I wanted to ask you something," he began while twisting the cap.

The red-streaked woman stood up and closed the fridge door and turned to Uzu. "Ask away," she replied acting calm while anxiously tapping at her can.

"Well it's about your sister, we had a kendo match a couple of weeks ago and something odd happened," he explained before he took a slug of his beer. "She started out normal, playing "d" and just waiting her moment to strike like she always does, but then I asked 'How's that dumbass sister of yours?'" he giggled slightly intoxicated.

"Dick," Ryuko snarled sipping her can.

"Sorry, anyways the second I said that she lunged at me like some cheetah and beat the shit out of me," Uzu narrated as he cringed at the memory of the pain he felt back then.

"What else is new?" Ryuko rhetorically asked with a cocky grin on her face.

"What's new is that while I was on the floor she said, 'My sister is not a dumbass, she's dumb with a nice ass'" the former gang leader concluded. Almost instantly a river of his once requested cider came splashing all over his face. Uzu took a long pause and wiped his face with a paper towel before he turned to Ryuko holding her palm over her soaked lips and asked, "What's going on between you two?"

Ryuko placed her can on a nearby coaster and took a deep breath. What felt like an hour was nearly five minutes of Ryuko blathering on about the events that took place during her week-long visit. Uzu simple stood with his arms crossed taking occasional sniffs to prevent a nosebleed from dripping out of his nostril.

"So that's everything, are…are you okay with us?" Ryuko queried him with the little air she has left to breathe.

"Personally…I think she is way out of your league,"

"You assclown!"

"But, If you're the one she wants then I have no obligation to stop you and besides," Uzu began and took a long slug of his beer. "I've never seen that much vigour from her since our days at Honnouji, I guess she picked up her sword again, for you." He concluded leaving Ryuko with her mouth agape. "Ya better take care of her or else," he saluted before heading back to the living room.

Ryuko let out a sigh of relief and followed suit and found a blindfolded Mako being tricked by Nonon, to pin a tail on Gamagori's face. Over to the other side of the room was hooded Inumuta typing on his laptop alone. Seeing her opportunity, she made her way over to the corner where the expert hacker was seated.

"'Sup Inumuta," she awkwardly greeted since the two rarely talked to one another.

"Greetings Matoi, a congratulations is in order for you and Mankanshoku's achievement," he responded as he continued to type on his keyboard.

The rebel crouched down and sat the cyan haired technician. "Listen there's something I gotta tell ya, you see-"

"Are you coming on to me? My apologies but quite frankly I'm not interested,"

"What? No you little shit," Ryuko spat letting out a groan. "It's about me and…" Ryuko began after she successfully resisted the urge to punch Inumuta's face. She recited the tale of her and her sister's forbidden relationship that she told to Sanageyama, with less splutters and spoke more assuredly from her successful confessions from earlier today.

"I see," Inumuta responded pushing up his sky blue tinted glasses and typed furiously once more on his laptop.

Ryuko didn't expect a brief reaction like that from anyone and was utterly baffled. "So…you're cool with it, ri-" The graduate has interrupted by the hacker turning his laptop so that was the monitor was now facing Ryuko. "Uh…I don't speak computer four-eyes what's this green stuff?" Ryuko asked glaring the green wall of text in front of a dark background.

"If you wish Matoi with one tap of the enter key, any evidence that proves you two are sisters will be permanently erased," he explained.

"H-how did you do that?" Ryuko asked gripping the monitor.

"Get your hands off my laptop Matoi! If I were to explain it you would fall asleep in a matter of minutes," Hoka retorted holding his laptop in the air away from Ryuko's grasp. "Luckily the only people who know of your relation are the ones who weren't trapped in those life fiber cocoons, at the great culture and sports festival. So unfortunately, I am not able to erase their minds," Hoka concluded.

"But why are you willing to do all of this?" Ryuko replied tilting her head to one side.

"Well I'm certainly not doing this for you, your sister gave me a new lease in my life and showed me how my talents can be used for good and not for my selfish ways. She provided me a new life and it's only fair I do the same," Hoka ended once again turning the keyboard toward Ryuko once more. "Well?" he asked.

"I'll… think about it, this is something we gotta decide together," Ryuko answered pulling her hand away from Inumuta's laptop.

"Wise decision Matoi, It seems that I have underestimated you," Hoka declared resuming his duties prior to speaking with Ryuko.

"Now I know why they call ya dog," Ryuko began standing up. "Its cos' you're loyal right?" she figured and petted Hoka's hair.

"Never touch me again, Matoi," he barked causing Ryuko to pull her arm away and let out a hearty laugh.

A sudden tempting aroma, arose from the kitchen as Sukuyo brought out a large platter of her famous croquettes. "Dig in everyone there's plenty to go around!" she declared setting it down in the centre of the room.

A large horde of hands carrying chop sticks invaded the silver plate leaving no survivors. "Oh my you're all very hungry I'll whip up some more!" Sukuyo hollered.

"So good!" Ryuko and Mako said simultaneously as they chowed down on their first of many mystery croquettes. Before Ryuko could indulge on her second one two wrapped boxes stacked on top of one another, carried by someone made its way over to her and Mako.

"I nearly forgot to bring you these," Iori informed placing the boxes next to the girls.

"Bring what?" Ryuko asked before biting into her second roll.

"These are graduation gifts to you and Mako from Lady Sa-"

"Gifts yay!" Mako yelped interrupting Iori and grabbing the present with the tag reading 'To: Mako'. "Thank you Iori," she acknowledged as she opened her present full of comfortable pairs of pajamas. "New jammies they're all so cute," she rejoiced.

Iori handed over Ryuko's present which appeared quite smaller than the care package Mako received. When she lifted the round lid with the tag reading 'To: Ryuko ' she soon realised how the sentimental value surpassed Mako's comfy jammies.

Gingerly, Ryuko brushed her fingers under the soft texture and lifted the piece of cloth as if it were a fragile porcelain doll. In her hands was a light royal blue scarf with a calligraphed inscription of the name of her love written on the bottom of the smooth scarf. Ryuko wrapped the soft fabric around her exposed neck, its softness reminded her of the delicate touch her sister gave to her that night they became one.

"Thank you so much Iori, I'm guessing she made you stitch this?" Ryuko asked after she snapped out of her trance.

"You're very welcome Ryuko, and actually she made that all by herself," Iori revealed. Ryuko's life fiber mutated heart pounded faster than race car engine. "She was very determined to make the perfect scarf for her special someone," the tailor replied with a wink. The red-streaked girl's sapphire eyes widened while her gasped mouth was covered by her new scarf. "Don't worry Ryuko you two were practically made for one another," he whispered before he returned back to his seat near the rest of the elites.

After Mako showed off her new PJ's to Ryuko, Sukuyo returned with another helping of her croquettes. "I have seconds here everybody! Help yourselves," she informed placing them in the centre of the room once more. "Oh, Ryuko dear!" the Mankanshoku matriarch called.

"Mmm-hmm?" Ryuko replied her mouth full of unidentifiable yet edible meat.

"I saved these ones for Gamagori," she answers holding a small serving of three croquettes. "Could you head outside and deliver these to him while I go prepare some more?" she requested handing them to Ryuko.

With one hard swallow Ryuko nodded and accepted Sukuyo's request. She carried them whilst fighting off a hungry Guts jumping up at her. Ryuko opened the wooden backdoor and headed toward the giant. "Food here Gamagori!" she hollered stepping outside.

"Oh thank you Matoi," he lauded taking the three rolls of mystery and ate them all simultaneously. "Please give my regards to Mrs Mankanshoku, she is a fine cook," the towering man added. "That's a nice scarf you have on," he noticed as the red-streaked woman grasped the shawl around her neck.

"Yeah, Sis made it for me," she conveyed brushing it with her index finger. "And there's something else I need you to know," she began with her chest puffed, hoping the intimidation of Gamagori's stature will fade.

For the third instance on that evening, Ryuko revealed the covert relationship between her and her sister. The task this time wasn't as simple when speaking to Sanageyama or Inumuta with a frowning Gamagori who was nearly a foot taller than the Mankanshokus' house.

"…and we've been together ever since," Ryuko ended letting out a sigh. "And I don't want any 'I'm her shield and you need to get past me' bullshit because I'm getting really bored of that shtick," she insinuated with her arms crossed.

"I understand Matoi and you are right, you in fact do not need to get past me to win her heart," Gamagori replied.

Ryuko slightly embarrassed acting too aggressive to the former head of the disciplinary committee. "Oh well that's great, sorry for act-"

"You need to complete these forms to secure the Lady's heart," Gamagori quipped dropping a stack of pages that were nearly the height of Ryuko.

The young rebel blinked twice before she realised what she was staring at. "You're shitting me right?" Ryuko pleaded looking up at Gamagori.

The dark-toned titan looked down at the helpless woman and rubbed his chin in hesitation. "Perhaps filling these is quite arduous for someone of your intellect," he pondered.

"Says the masochist with his head literally in the clouds!" she snarled shaking his fist at him. Gamagori turned his attention from the irritated woman in front of him and directed his attention to the inside of the house.

There he saw, the smooth brown bowl-shaped hair that enticed him with its scent everytime it passed him. The eager eyes that made him wear pajamas every night ever since he first them, and the smile that tugged his massive heartstrings.

"Matoi, I suppose we can reach an agreement without having you fill out these forms," Gamagori stipulated as he knelt down in front of Ryuko. "Could you tell Mako that…that I have feelings for her!" he requested with a wide blush.

"…"

"…"

"…crap I lost the bet," Ryuko whispered to herself.

"What bet!?" Ira howled.

"Don't worry about it, ya have a deal give me a minute," Ryuko assured as she headed back inside.

"Wait Matoi!" Gamagori commanded to which Ryuko abided. "You were wrong about one thing, for a very long time I was her shield. I couldn't protect her when I could, which makes a me nothing more but a worthless shield," he asserted. "Matoi, please be the shield that should have been, for her," the giant concluded as bowed to Ryuko with his forehead touching the pavement.

The young woman felt sympathy for her former enemy and with that she marched over and rested her hand on his wide left shoulder. "Ya ain't a broken shield Ira," she began as Gamagori raised his head slightly. "If ya weren't I wouldn't be offing my best friend to ya would I?" she assured tapping him on his shoulder before she turned and headed back inside.

Gamagori quickly snapped up and brushed himself off from kneeling on the ground. He looked at the window to inside of the house while he attempted to fix his hair. He was too far away he couldn't hear what Ryuko and Mako were saying. Ryuko showed something to Mako on her phone yet Gamagori couldn't see what she showed Mako. Subsequently from looking at Ryuko's phone Mako gleefully skipped to the backdoor.

"What did she show her? No wait was she recording me? But how why would Mako-"

"Hey Gamagori!" Mako greeted as she randomly appeared next to him waving. "Ryuko showed me this and told me to come see you!" she affirmed whipping the phone from her pocket and showing it to Gamagori.

The toad turned pale after seeing the image of a tiny mouse attempting to devour an entire banana.

The view was priceless for Ryuko when she saw Gamagori's face through the window. The snickering continued as Gamagori had difficulties in finding words for his crush as Ryuko sipped her icy cold beer.

As she downed her bottle, Ryuko opened her eye and saw what would be her final encounter in order to move on from her fears. The petite musician staring at her from the other side of the room, sent a chill down Ryuko's spine. Nonon raised a pink eyebrow and trotted to the kitchen.

"Well shit," Ryuko murmured to herself before chugging the entirety of her bottle. She brushed off her lips and marched to the kitchen behind her. Waiting for the red-streaked woman was Nonon leaning next to the wall at the back of the hall.

"Underachiever,"

"Troll,"

"Alright then Matoi let's cut to the chase," Nonon began taking a swig of her beer. "Why in god's are you two doing this?" she spat.

"How do you know?" Ryuko asked.

"Oh please I'm her freaking her roommate and her longest friend, I know more about her than you do," Nonon answered cockily, Ryuko remained silent prompting Jakuzure to continue, "Listen Ryuko I know you care about her but, it's never going to work I mean, you two are sisters, which is disgusting itself-"

"Don't call us that!" Ryuko scolded, clenching her fists and shook violently.

Nonon paused and let out an irritated sigh. "Even if you weren't, you both tried to kill one another numerous times!" Nonon continued with venomous vigour.

"That shit is in the past, we moved on," Ryuko retorted, unclenching her fists slightly.

"You want to talk about the present? You two being together is like putting two ticking time bombs together, when one of you loses it, the other is gonna explode too," Nonon replied rubbing her temples. "Look all I want is for her to be happy, you tell me right now why I should let you have her!" Nonon ordered.

Ryuko looked down to the floor and as if a light bulb popped on top of her head, she figured it out. "You're just jealous aren't you Jakuzure?" she concluded.

"What!? No I'm not you-"

"You know why she loves me, because she told you herself right?" Ryuko asked with a sympathetic frown. Nonon's pupils constricted and gasped at Ryuko's guess and her question that she didn't have an answer for. "You just said it there 'you tell me right now why I should let you have her' you don't love her," Ryuko concluded as she took a cautious step forward.

"I do! I love her with every fiber of my being! I love Lady Sa-"

"I believe you do, but not like I do," Ryuko interrupted and stunned Jakuzure silent. "You call her 'Lady' and shit, I just call her 'Sats', you only admire her and by her I mean that impenetrable leader you and the other elites look up to," Ryuko continued as she stepped toward Jakuzure a few more times. "You're in love with someone who's too bright to see, while I'm in love with someone who only brightens my world," Ryuko ended as she gazed into the teary eyes of her sister's best friend.

Jakuzure's tears formed far too quickly before her knuckles could wipe them away. "Dammit Matoi," she sobbed and sniffed. "Y-you're right I'm so sorry," she cried before Ryuko embraced her.

"It's alright you're just like the rest of them, you're all looking out for her," she assured as Nonon tears fell on her school uniform. Jakuzure was the first to step away from the hug. She reached into her purse and pulled out a brass key.

"I…moved out a while ago," she started before she let out a hiccup. "My band and I are heading to Europe for a year, two years if we're successful if we're good, which we are," Nonon chuckled as Ryuko joined in with a short one of her own. "Here, don't fuck this up or I'll kill you," she proclaimed giving her key to Ryuko.

As Ryuko gazed at the key the doorbell rang.

Her heart stopped and immediately sprinted to the front door while yelling numerous 'thank yous' to Nonon. The young musician finished the rest of her bottle in one fell swoop. "She's perfect for her," Nonon thought to herself.

Ryuko leapt over the drunk party of her family and friends, then proceeded to do a cat's tumble when she landed to execute further ground towards the front door. With no hesitation Ryuko twisted the doorknob nearly breaking in the process and opened the door to a bright unrelenting light.

"Satsu-"

The unrelenting light was the glowing nipples of Aikuro Mikisugi.

"Are we late for the party Ryuko?" slurred the former rebellion leader as he began to strip.

"We brought Coronas," Tsumugu mentioned lifting up a four pack. Like a young child that didn't get what they wanted for Christmas Ryuko let out a long groan.

"Yeah sure help yourselves, Mikisugi please put your pants back on you're gonna give Mrs Mankanshoku a heart attack," Ryuko implored rubbing the bridge of her nose with her index finger and her thumb.

"No he won't!" Sukuyo interjected. "Come in boys you two must be freezing," she insisted as the two men followed her inside.

The doorbell rang once more.

Ryuko groaned, "Ugh how many Nudist freaks did ya invite?" before opening the door.

There she was.

Donned in a pair of cerulean jeans that looked far too tight. Covered in a sky blue waistcoat with a cute matching beret to combat the night temperature. A Navy tee that teasingly showed a bit of her pale chest and a fuzzy red scarf that clashes with everything. One of her leathery gloved hands carried an expensive pair of high heels while the other leaned on the wall next to the doorbell.

The goddess panted heavily until she opened her eyes, exposing the sapphire irises underneath the mesmerising dark eyebrows. She smiled her beautiful grin at the sight of Ryuko.

"Sorry I'm late Ryu-"

"Satsuki!" Ryuko yelled and she leapt onto Satsuki causing the both the couple to topple over. The smitten woman kept her arms around Satsuki and never wanted to let go while nuzzling her cheekbone.

"Missed me?" Satsuki whispered.

"More than anything," Ryuko replied and kissed Satsuki on her cheek.

One Week Later

Her neck was aching from staring at the height of her girlfreind's apartment building. It nearly resembled the towering Honnouji Academy she glanced up for the first nearly two years ago. However as close to the sun it was, it wasn't as blinding like the academy was. As Ryuko opened the door she dropped her rucksack and landed on her back from the sudden collision of her face and a large metallic box.

"Oh shit, sorry are you ok-, Oh it's you, watch where you're going underachiever," a high-pitched voice squeaked from behind the large pink box.

"Fucking bite me, you troll, if you weren't so short this would never have happened," Ryuko grunted trying to get up. The "troll" as Ryuko described place the box back down revealing, Satsuki's long-time friend, Nonon Jakuzure.

"Jeez, for Satsuki's girlfriend….wait did this happen before?" Nonon asked tilting her head in confusion.

"Oh yeah must be deja vú or some shit," Ryuko considered. "Here lemme help you up," the young rebel offered holding her hand out to Jakuzure.

Ryuko then aided the young musician in unloading her supplies into her jeep. "You compensating for somethin'?" the red-streaked woman chuckled when she was finished.

"Hilarious," Nonon snarled unloading the last box into the box seat. "Thanks for your help Ryuko," she thanked.

"Thanks for the place," Ryuko retorted dangling her key ring which included the key Nonon gave her.

"Sure we're even," Nonon declared before stepping up to the driver's seat. The young musician pulled down her window and hollered, Hey Matoi!" Ryuko turned back before she managed to open the front door of the apartment building. "Take care of her alright," Nonon entreated. Ryuko simply gave Nonon a thumbs up and headed inside.

Ryuko made her way for the several flights of steps. It was so typical of her girlfriend to be situated at the very top of the apartment building, it was one of the many reasons why she loved her.

Step by step, flight by flight, all she could think of was her love. She wondered why Satsuki only wanted her, not any of the rest of the elite four, or even Mako. The red-streaked woman reminisced about the week they spent together. The estranged sister she engaged with in a taboo relationship. In terms of personality they were completely opposite. Satsuki would always seem stoic and reserved while Ryuko would be more extroverted than her loved one.

They never agreed on most things such as what movie or show to watch and what to eat, they had a big argument on where to go on their date. Satsuki would opt for sushi while Ryuko wanted to eat Chinese, before things got ugly the bowl haired girl ended up deciding to eat at an Italian bistro, and they had a wonderful time there together re-enacting the lady and the tramp scene.

They were not the perfect couple by any means, but why did Ryuko fall for her? The red-streaked hair girl asked herself that question for a while now. She came up with the theory of how opposites attract she read from her Biology class.

However she remembered those times they spent together from the dates in the shopping district to their most intimate moments when they were alone, she knew that they weren't total opposites. They were practically made for one another.

Catching her breath, Ryuko arrived at the top floor of the block. She walked along the halls scanning for the numbers "914" on the doors. She halted at "915" recognising the pattern Ryuko turned around and found the room. She took one deep breath before knocking on the wooden door with brass number-plates placed in the centre. "Alright just act calm, don't screw this up!" she urged to herself.

The door opened slowly, and a slightly taller short dark-haired woman stepped out with an enthusiastic smile.

"Okaeri,"

"Tadaima, Satsuki,"

A.N. and they married then had a babby and they lived happily ever after the end.

First things first, I'm sorry I goofed, my motivation for this entire thing was to have the most realistic story to form from this ship. That was stupid, I am stupid because KLK is not something that should be treated too seriously and for that I paid the price so thanks for all the "constructive" criticisms I took those to heart you guys earned a happier ending so here's one it's like your animu games where if ya fuck up ya don't get the waifu in the end so I decided to have a good and bad ending because….i'm trash idk I wanted to this chapter ages ago but stuff and sad stuff like pretty depressing stuff happened I wont go too much into detail so I picked myself up and started writing and writing makes me feel happy and this long ass chapter made me happy so that's helped me a lot

Again thank you to all the writers of this fandom making great works over these last 2 or 3 years how long ago was kill la kill? Im old. Fuck. And to all the gr8 artists who drew ryu la satsy inspired me to write these dumb gay bbies (I hope herokick-senpai notices that sats is dressed in that one pic where Ryuko chopped that tree down) and of course the ryu la sats writers as well and yeah thanks

If you made it this far to my midnight rambles you win a compliment; ur a qtp2t.
