Hello again, my companions of fictitious adventure. Small update for the side stories project (if anyone has been reading that), the Broly and Doomsday battle will be extended until about the length of this Madness Unbound/ Janembuu crisis- simply because it's just a very tough call. My version of DBZ here is much older, wiser and powerful than what we've seen before, while DC characters have either gained no change (like the Green Lanterns) or have been scaled back, to allow for future greater feats and battles (like with Superman and J'onn J'onnz). So please, bear with me here. This is mostly a bit more dialogue with a few plot twist foreshadowing thrown in.
A DISH BEST SERVED COLD 2
"At last you arrive Captain Salza, I was beginning to think my Furies had done away with you." Granny Goodness was a harsh and conniving ogre of a woman; she has most certainly seen the delegation of her task and role in Apokoliptian society to this accented pretty boy to be an insult from her master.
"Oh no Granny, the girls are rather pleasant company once they have the taste of victory on their lips; with you they must have been starved!" Salza gracefully walked out of the boomtube, arm linked with a pale skinned, green haired member of the Furies- she wore metal pauldrons and breastplates, however her arms and legs were left uncovered exposing her hands and feet's long claws= she was clearly bred for combat, but she still took a shine to the alien Captain. "This one won't even tell me her name, and she seems fond of the change of pace. You could've talked to them more, why when I still lead the Armoured Squa-"
"ARE YOU QUITE FINISHED?!" Cooler shouted over the noise of the collapsing portal. Salza, the Furies and Goodness turned to see the four would-be conquerors and the rest of the surviving New Gods and Ginyu Force deliberating around a hologram of the entire universal war taking place. "It's bad enough we have to sit on this barren rock heap of space, without your flirting. Sit down and be silent, my soldier." Cooler said that with such disdain, it drew the other lackey and Apokoliptian assassins away from the discussion to briefly glance at the Captain's expression- it wasn't fear they saw in Salza's eyes, but respect. Salza was, in all but Goodness eyes, a consummate soldier.
Obeying his command, Salza got a full view of his surroundings as he walked. This was what the surface of Mars felt like; cold, dry, and unforgiving testament to the frailty of nature- the entire prosperous civilisation wiped out decades ago, before the neighbouring Earth could even view it through telescopes. Salza released his arm lock with the Fury and let her stand with her teammates; he had to deliver a package.
"The entity of compassion, wrapped in a box of one-way travel magical katchin- hardest substance of our homeworld- several times the strength and density of diamonds... if they're called that on Apokolips." Salza remarked. He lay the box down with the circle of the others that contained the entities of emotion. 'A bit morbid leaving all those lanterns to die out, but whatever the master wants.'
"Yes, they are." Darkseid the conqueror had little patience for talk. Business it seemed was his pleasure. "Cold, repeat the details of the plan to me." He said this as massive storm of dust and red hail came sweeping over the perpetually dark skies around them. Burter, Jeice and Recoome raised their hands to shield their eyes, only to see the sand drift harmlessly around a psionic shield formed around the group by Cold.
"Very well, now that everyone's here." Cold took a deep breath as he prepared his rousing speech, "Using the commotion from the battles from all over this wretched universe, the Lantern Corps have all been stretched thin- making the covert operation of procuring the entities of emotion housed in the power batteries far easier." He paused briefly, motioning for Goodness to pour him another glass of wine- his ease and comfort was not unnoticed by the dread God before him. "Ah. Thank you, granny. Now, combining the energies of the emotion entities produces... or rather summons the entity of Life, the White Lantern Battery."
Darkseid raised an eyebrow in question, "And what would this achieve? An ancient entity like that wouldn't just play into our hands, Cold." He spoke to Cold without the use of his title, just to remind him who the real master was. If King Cold or his sons even noticed it didn't show, they remained calm on the outside.
"This being that will arrive to Earth soon enough, will absolutely crystallize the surface of the Earth, entrapping the population in... candy for it to consume. It's presence alone achieves this, only stronger beings like the Kryptonians or us can resist that effect. Since its entire body is composed of negative 'death' energy, the Life entity will seek the creature and snuff it out. As the Life entity depletes the power store of the trillions of dead souls within the beast, it will be weak enough to trapped in a psionic barrier that me and my sons will produce- weakened but alive. Our immortal and unkillable bodies will forever be preserved then after we somehow sever the spell the Olympian Gods of Earth have created." Cold finished the plan with a confident and smug smile. He was awaiting the coming questions.
Darkseid merely bowed his head in thought; it was instead his son Frieza to question his father. "After Janembuu is dealt with, what is to stop our other threats from turning on us and doing the same? We aren't exactly popular with the Gods of our own universes- or the heroes of this universe!"
"And what of Cell? Or the Legendary Saiyan? Or the Kryptonian?" Cooler spoke up then, "There are far too many gaps in your plan." He finished with a glare of uncharacteristic disdain toward his father.
For Cold it was his time to laugh, "Ah my lord Darkseid, what way to show your sons that you can handle a problem- no matter how many times you have to etch respect into their skulls!" With a violent flame of purple colour around his body, he shot forward with an enraged vein pulsing on his forehead and before his eldest son could even react, Cold struck a backhanded fist into his sons cheek launching him through the rock precipice he was sitting on. The explosion of force tore through the barrier Cold himself had erected. All those of Apokolips and Frieza's company shuddered at the sight of the attack, as well as from the rushing dust storm and bite of the cold Mars wind around them. As Cooler stood up, rubbing his bruised cheek, all but Frieza, Salza, the remaining Ginyu Force and of course the dread God himself were terrified.
Kalibak, Drayven, Goodness and the Furies were stunned, 'these things can effortlessly blow up entire planets, and they're easily swept aside by one blow?!' they all collectively thought. Goodness now felt slightly less irritated to be Cold's wine server for the day. Dusting off his clothes and composing himself, Cold rebuilt the barrier around the group, his eldest son kept outside it of course. "Forgive the outburst my lord; my son knows not what he says. Of course I have plans for every outcome." Cold assured. Picking up his cup of wine from Goodness (the original glass cup was shattered in Cold's hand as he rushed to assault his son), Cold continued as he walked closer to face the dread God. "The Highfather and Orion will be kept as hostages, or even better slaves if only to keep the likes of the Kryptonian or the Amazon from coming to us first. The battle with Janembuu will likely leave many of our rivals disposed of anyway. As for the creature called Cell, or the Kryptonian if he survives, well... the combined might of this most deadly of alliances should ensure victory."
Darkseid looked up then, "The Earth is visible now. An escape pod has just passed us." With a raised eyebrow, everyone stared up at the sky to see. Darkseid thought to himself, 'I'll let their little plan play out, however trust is not easily gained in such a short time. You'll have your way for now, frost demon.' "The Life entity is entrapped in the core of the Earth anyway, we should summon it here on Mars and allow it work before sending our forces to the ground." Darkseid finished.
"Of course!" Cold shouted, "Now we play the waiting game it seems-"
"You won't be waiting long." All of them were startled at the grim, deep voice that just rang in their... minds?
"A telepath? Here?" asked Drayven as he quickly brandished his blades. Kalibak and Recoome stared dopey-eyed off into space still trying to wrap their heads around that voice. Jeice, Burter and the other others all gravitated toward the Furies or to their masters for protection. The three frost demons stood warily, but it was the dread God himself that spoke.
"Hmm, Martians are a rare sight these days, especially here of all places. Let me guess, you abandoned your ship just before arriving? You think this some grand battle you've stepped into? The odds are against you- alone." Darkseid said with a smirk, his arms crossed behind his back, relaxed. He had nothing to fear from any Martian, he surpassed any hero of Earth by a country mile.
"True." The Martian Manhunter's voice rang in everyone's minds, "But my telepathy can quickly rectify that, what would Superman think about his other nemesis being so close to Earth? And the group you have here, some I do not recognise, but still... I could end them with a thought." With a burst of telekinesis, the sand dunes of Mars threw up around them blinding them from viewing outside their barrier. "And one of you is a stray!" Cooler was shocked to find him being dragged from the barrier by his tail at alarming speeds.
Cooler flailed wildly in the storm before being roughly tossed down in the sand with a heave, as he turned to face his attacker he was shocked to see a giant green behemoth of a dragon-like creature with glowing red eyes glaring at him. Cooler raised a hand to shoot fire in its face, but it was gripped by one of several long tendrils spewing from the dragon's torso. "No." The dragon said, "you will get to see what fear I can stir in your poisoned little mind..." Cooler was accosted with images of demons, of Super Saiyans, of the burning sear of the Sun that killed him, and of his father's abusive temper. He was a conquering prince with the strength and power of thousands of men- but here he was frightened child. And he screamed.
With Cooler's scream ringing in his ears, that was all Darkseid needed to find his opponent, "There." His eyes flashed a burning red then as he charged and unleashed a fully powered Omega beam. The beams cut through the frost demons barrier and the surrounding dust tornado with no resistance, the beams winded around each other as it struck its opponent's position with pinpoint accuracy. An explosion sounded the end of the dust tornado and even the harsh winds, such was Darkseid's strength. Impressed, the other two frost demons walked with the dread God out to see the damage- the group of lackeys following nervously behind them. "Your son continues to provide entertainment, Cold. He was right to scream, the Martian is also the last of his kind, and we are on his homeworld. There's no accounting for what he could have done." Darkseid walked with a victorious smirk. Cold merely stared ahead, silently.
After walking the fifty meters or so to inspect the eldest of Cold's heirs, Frieza broke the silence, "I had no idea you could scream like that anymore, Cooler! Why it brought me back to when you were bullied as a child." Frieza laughed his little aristocratic laugh as he used his tail to help his brother up.
"Oh please, brother! Anyone can be taken by surprise by an opponent, was that not all our downfalls in the first place?" Cooler rebuked.
"Most impressive, lord Darkseid. Completely ash! Just like the stories told, you're power is as profound as your accuracy!" Cold stated.
"Flattery will accomplish nothing with me, Cold." Darkseid stared at the pile of ashes on the ground, 'what was the Martian thinking coming here?' "Cooler, if you would order our Captain of the Guard to take his men back to Apokolips and return with the provisions to build a camp here on Mars, it would help to redeem yourself in my eyes. Mars now belongs to Darkseid." Cooler, now standing upright and shaking dust off his forearms, nodded an affirmative to the order. Darkseid smirked as the humour from eldest frost demon doing so with a 'cold' glare was not lost on him. "Cold, we wait now for the monster to appear and we will execute your plan down to the letter. Bring my brother and son here from the dungeons as well; we wouldn't want any Kryptonian or others coming to hamper our machinations." He said all this, arms still relaxed behind him, as he watched the Earth rotate in the distance. 'True immortality with no possibility of death by combat? All the more time to search for the Anti- Life Equation at my leisure.'
PERFECTION 2
Colu was an odd sort of planet, to anyone's measure. Firstly it was known for it's permanent purple outer atmosphere giving it the appearance of a gas giant, when it really was inhabited by sentient, eighth level intelligence people, known as the Coluans. Superman had flown as fast as he could from his fortress of solitude, stopping by the star of the solar system to scout the planet out while he recharged at a distance. But the planet was governed by a certain Coluan born with a twelth level intelligence, far beyond that of any man and rivalling that of Gods, the first of House Dox- Vril Dox, also known as Brainiac, the collector of worlds. Superman has had some battles with Brainiac in the past, his insatiable lust for more knowledge leaving the alien a cold and calculating villain with no regard for life or the consequences. Thus putting him at odds with Superman, the perfect specimen for studying the effects of solar radiation on a Kryptonian. These battles on Earth ended messily.
But, Diana was supposedly held captive there, by a foe that may or may not have claimed the lives of hundreds of millions earlier just a few short hours ago. Superman checked on his family, the Kents to see if they were alright. 'If I can't beat something that could restrain Diana so easily, who could protect them?' then he checked on his cousin Kara on the Watchtower medical bay, she was stabilised and her cuts were cleaned, but her ribcage will take a long while to heal. He stopped by his Fortress of Solitude to listen to the words his father left him in the crystal memory banks one more time and then left. Two hours later he has arrived, and he has received no word from the League in his ear communicator or news of Bulma and Batman.
Fully charged, he slowly (for Superman) flew gracefully toward the planet through the dark vacuum of space. Watching he saw the planets state, 'Brainiac's biggest ship is in orbit... and unharmed. But the cities on the planet are empty, the military is completely wasted, fires are spreading across the impact site. Yes, the impact site from where something powerful landed.' Arriving at lower orbit, he scanned the planet for Diana or the Cell creature. 'Now, where could they be, they obviously moved away from under Colu's rift and the crater... The Lanterns stationed here are likely disposed of... Where?' his thoughts came to a close as a ball of golden energy rose up from the planet's northern pole and exploded like a firework. 'He knows I'm here. Well... you can do this, Clark.' Cape flapping in the resultant pressure of the atmosphere, he rocketed to the location of the beacon.
Coming to a graceful landing on the planets hardened soil (blackened by flames of course), Clark saw what he came here for. Diana, the Wonderwoman lying beaten, but not disfigured, within an egg-like barrier of an unknown energy- it didn't seem like magic. Then he saw who he came to speak to. "Cell."
Standing taller even than the Man of Steel, Cell was an imposing figure- even worse, a total mystery. Bulma's notes told of Cell's creation and programming- to be the perfect fighting machine- but what was his motive here? "Superman... you like the renovation I've done? It suits really, I thought you'd be pleased... it scared your little Brainiac foe onto his toy ship after all." Cell's voice dripped with sarcasm, and confidence.
"How many Coluans had to die for this little stunt?" Superman asked right off the bat.
"Hmm. Not as many as on Thanagar. The eighth-level intelligence they claim to have served them well in hiding." He stopped to grip the Kryptonian's punch firmly in his hand, he charged right at the mention of Thanagar. "Every version is exactly the same, rude rude RUDE!" Cell's powerful aura flared around him as he quickly (for Superman) gave a kick back into the Man of Steel's chest pushing him back skidding along the charred plain. "Interrupting me while I speak? Well, that actually is rather American."
"Don't claim to know me!" Clark roared as his eyes went red before firing a narrowed beam of heatvision at his foe's chest. Cell swiftly sidestepped allowing the heat vision to dissipate harmlessly off into the purple hazed sky. Wonder Woman watching this beginning to this great battle noticed Clark was acting... changed?
"Indeed!" Cell laughed, "I sensed your energy all the way from Thanagar about six hours ago, Bojack hm? Where is he now?" Cell lunged. With a means to grip the Kryptonian by the arm and smash him into the ground, Clark grunted as he extended his bio-electric aura above his skin out for Cell to grab short. Short enough for Clark to land his first blow- a left hook straight to Cell's face. To his surprise, Cell's face was clearly scratched, but he didn't shout in pain or get launched a mile away as usual. Cell stood firm and laughed.
"HAHAH! Now this is what I call exhilarating!" Cell powered his body up, his aura now flashing with little rays of electricity- Clark's supervision saw them as being all over his body- Cell appeared as an apparition of golden light to him focused. Cell pushed back with an elbow throwing the Kryptonian off by a little to receive his own left hook to the face, propelling him into the dirt below. Clark recovered quickly to dodge a stomping foot and kicked off the ground spraying his icy breath to freeze Cell in place- 'Have to buy some time!' he thought. It worked... barely. Cell shook the ice off his body and with a maniacal laugh leapt off after the soaring Kryptonian. 'Everything I throw at him is just shrugged off! I need to do something quick, but if I let loose like in Metropolis... Diana or the innocents could get hurt.' Superman dodged left, right, up, down and every other direction from a barrage of punches and kicks from the mutant with incredible speed. Strength and skill were in no debate in Cell's favour as long as Superman remained composed, but speed was very clearly in the Kryptonian's hands. 'If I get him tired, he'll miss a step- then I can attack!'
"I hope you aren't thinking of a strategy, I challenged you to a no-holds barred fight. LIFE OR DEATH, SUPERMAN!" Cell screamed as he gripped Clark by the head with both hands faster than Clark could react. 'How could he?' was all Clark could think before the mutant began to furiously head-butt and knee the earth-raised Kryptonian into oblivion. Finally letting go, Cell finished with a two handed haymaker to the top of Superman' head, launching him down with a thunderous crash into the ground a few miles away.
Diana was watching all of this of course from a mile away also; it seemed her prison was somehow 'tethered' to Cell as he fought. 'Perfect' she thought acerbically.
Shaking himself off from the crash site, he used the precious few milliseconds for Cell to reach him to quickly listen to the sounds of the entire planet. 'Most of the Coluans are either on Brainiacs ship or retreated to underground bunkers... those that aren't have been burnt to the point of being unable to move by Cell's previous attacks... I'm sorry if I accidentally make things worse from here on people.' Cell rushed forward with an insane glee to find his wrists caught by the hands of Superman, in a matter of microseconds, he had flown from his crater to meet him midflight.
"Wha-" Cell began before what felt like a brick of steel smash against his face. Clark was showing Cell half of the power that killed Bojack, that was the reaction Clark usually expected- Cell was launched back 50 feet, the air rushing around him as his aura stabilised. The two warriors composed themselves to get a better look at the situation. Superman carefully parted his hair back to its traditional way and wiped a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his left hand. Cell merely smiled as he wiped away some saliva he spat from the attack. "So this is you... hahaha after all this time, you've finally learned to give up some of that precious restraint. It took me a little while to train myself into not shattering the ground beneath my feet with every step as well so there's no shame there."
"I can't believe what you're saying. Bulma said you and Bojack had a bit of a rivalry, I sent you flying back with half of what killed that brute. I regret it, but it had to be done. You think you want to provoke me any further?" Clark replied as seriously as he could make it sound.
Cell began stretching his wings and limbs out in mid-air, throwing a few practice punches and kicks into the air. "Oh yes I do. Don't assume you're the only not showing your full power, Clark."
Superman ignored the fact that this abomination knew his name and focused instead on what he said, "What do you mean? Bulma said you'd be better than Bojack. That's true, but at this rate you can't compete!"
Cell laughed a hearty laugh then, Diana shuddered as she anticipated what Cell was going to do to her friend in combat here. "Now it's my turn to say 'don't think you know me,' I surpassed all of my challengers years ago. It's my design after all. I won't bother with the details, but the only being I've never defeated is the very being that is currently heading to Earth right now and destroy it."
Clark and Diana froze when they heard that. Clark began, "WHAT?! This Janemba is heading for Earth! You've fought it before then, yes? Why don't you help us achieve our common goal then, Cell with your strength we could-"
"Faith... I have none in that plan" Cell said as he finished practicing his combat style. "Janemba, Majin Buu, Satan, whatever Bulma wants you call it is fine, but you don't understand him like I do." Cell paused to gauge Superman's puzzled reaction to the names, 'Bulma hasn't told them yet, pathetic sentiment for that idiot martial artist I assume.' "His power goes beyond that of even the upper eschalon of Gods, they fear him and his powers... but not I. I see it as the ultimate challenge for which I, the perfect being, will rise above. So you see Superman, either we drop the act and get serious about the outcome of this battle- improving my ability by defeating you... or this final positive matter universe will burn." Cell finished by waving his hand, dispelling the barrier around Diana. "I'll even let her go back to Earth. So as long she does not interfere in our battle, Kal-El. Agreed?"
Superman listened carefully to every word, and made up his mind. "Cell, you're insane. But I accept your challenge... and when I win, we'll defeat Janemba, or Buu or whatever stupid name you call it. Together, the League, the people of this universe and if I have to, haul your ass back as well." Clark pressed his ear communicator to speak to Wonderwoman. "You get all that?"
"Yes I did," she replied, "but Clark are you really going to-"
"I WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORT!" rang a deep voice from above. The three seasoned warriors looked up to see a platform levitating down the orbiting ship of Brainiac, standing on which was, well, Brainiac. Arriving at face level, the genius despot spoke, "Though the Wonder Woman may prefer her own travel, my ship will get her back to Earth far faster than the speed of Hermes will in space. I have also ran calculations on the nature of Colu's rift. Through it I have watched the battles spreading throughout the universe from this Janembuu's army and it... frightens me." Brainiac was a proud being, never one to show weakness, "If you allow it, Kryptonian, I would like to just this once aid you in your struggle." The two Justice League warriors watched each other intently before a defeated shrug signalled they approved. "My calculations also suggest that within a matter of hours, the battle between these two will render my homeworld desolate, or even broken down to it's core killing the poor thing. But such is the risk of scientific advancement. Come, Amazon, my time is precious."
Diana did so hesitantly, and the two levitated back up on the platform. Both remaining warriors floated still watching for about 20 minutes as the ship finally turned and rocketed away out of sight. "Hah." Cell chuckled randomly.
"What's so funny?" Clark asked.
"Just half of what you have? Hmm now I know how Frieza felt all the time." Cell said cryptically, "I'll have you know I have only shown ten percent of my maximum power. Best use that super mind of yours Clark, I want to enjoy this match." Cell ominously said as his aura, sparkling with electricity exploded and soared to massive heights. The light lit up the surrounding area like the midday sun, Superman reckoned the light could be visible through the purple atmosphere from space.
Clark was no fool, but nor was he a coward. He braced for combat, remembering all of his martial arts training from Batman, the Amazons, the Kryptonian martial arts he learned with the recordings of his father Jor-El, his conditioning from Mongul and other masters that let him improve and better himself. Even if he was truly outclassed for another time in his life, even if the odds were impossible even for him... He'd never give up fighting, because as the old saying goes, "Strength isn't the only thing that matters." From the outside view, it would have looked like several atomic bombs going off all over the planet, as the two titans struck each other's blows, the very atmospheric gases and oceans of the planet seemed to part from the shockwaves. None save for the Flash and the Gods watching this fight from the safety of the Rock of Eternity could see just how fast these two combatants waged their personal war.
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
"Aaaannndd here we are!" Bulma shouted before falling miserably hard to the floor as did the other three people with her. Constantine and Xanadu were struggling to even keep their heads up to look around. Batman grabbed on to Aquaman's trident for support and looked up through the immense gravity to see... people. No not just people, but humanoid animal people- a big blue catfish dressed as a martial artist master, a tall purple Siamese cat with his arms crossed, a thin, elaborately dressed blue man wielding a staff and to their left he saw six strange people as well. A tall green man, not unlike J'onn J'onnz but with two small antennae and his arms and chest showed exposed musculature. A small totally black skinned genie pouring tea while sitting on a middle-eastern style... flying carpet! A short bald elderly fellow sitting on the back of a giant sea turtle reading a pornographic magazine. A tall, blonde haired young woman who fit the exact description of the Android 18 in Bulma's notes. And lastly, two very muscular fully grown men, one with dark, spiky hair and the other (visually about a decade older) with a sword strapped across his back. The two defining features to these two men however is that both were missing an arm.
Bulma grunted as she stood upright in the heavy gravity, "Don't worry people, you'll get used to it. Roshi, Goten, son, please come and help these three to their feet, ok?"
"OK mom," replied Trunks, her son with the gray hair. Batman went wide-eyed at that, this man looked about 10 years younger than Bulma, who was deceptively strong to resist this intense gravity. Goten rushed to aid the now struggling to breathe, John Constantine, while the sordid mind of Master Roshi was intercepted by the King Kai, the blue carp-man, who aided the sorceress instead.
"Geez mate, remind me never to walk onto an alien world with this high gravity while I have a heavy smoking addiction. My god." Constantine said to the smiling Goten.
"Whis, wrap these wimps in an aura of weightlessness already, you can do that can't you?" The purple cat barked at his attendant.
"Ooohh, look who's upset to be woken up for the first time in two decades, Birus this is important." Whis said complaining, but still did as he was instructed. Xanadu, Constantine and Bruce all feeling a rush of weight being lifted off them, the gravity returning to the kind felt on Earth.
King Kai spoke first, "Welcome, travellers, my name is King Kai and this is my home planet." He paused to allow the man dressed as a bat and the other two to grasp the concept that they were on a planetoid the size of a building, with a little house and car in a tiny driveway in the middle of a golden clouded expanse was the home of a king. "We'll get to introductions in a minute but you know why Bulma brought you here to us. You need our help, or rather we need yours. But first, you each have to tell a joke that'll make me laugh- I'll go first, knock knock!"
"Don't waste any time, cretin!" came two deep voices from inside the house at the same time. The three Justice League members raised their eyebrows at the two mystery voices, while Bulma had the biggest smile she'd ever had in the entire time since she has first arrived through the Batcave ceiling. Stepping out into the light were the two most physically imposing people Bruce Wayne had ever seen, without being spliced with venom of course.
The first was an impressively tall green skinned man, like the other one sitting with the Djinn in appearance but much more muscular and battle hardened. This one wore a purple, loose-fitting gi that had the Japanese kanji for both God and Demon King on his chest with a long flowing white cape and turban. This was Piccolo, the Super Namekian. His strength vastly superior than what it was in decades past, having used the appearance of Janemba into the world to fulfil his ambition of removing his evil past from the history books. Fusing with the dead version of himself and his demon brothers, Piccolo the Demon King and former Guardian of the Earth's Lookout was reborn. And decades of training with the Gods of Creation and Destruction had improved upon that.
The second was a shorter man, slightly shorter in height than his son, the man Trunks. He wore a simple blue tracksuit with a vest, but also white gloves, boots and similar armour to the kind Batman saw various undead wear in the battle of Metropolis not one day ago. His hair rose to natural widow's peak it seemed showing the hardened face of a warrior, complete with a scar over his left eye- which got infected and was clearly removed years ago after a great battle. This was Vegeta, the last Prince of all Saiyans. When last he set foot on Earth, he had selfishly sold his honour for the strength to defeat his rival. Soon, the power that he unwittingly allowed to be unleashed unto the multiverse was the grave price of his arrogance. Fueled by rage and an unbridled search for redemption, Vegeta has mercilessly trained himself harder than he ever had before, and though his age is beginning to show, his power is miles ahead of what he had at that day, even maybe as great as his rival's strength was.
"We don't have a lot of time to talk, fishhead. So let's set up the debate on how we can accomplish our three main goals?" Vegeta spoke with authority even to this group of people that were older, wiser and in two cases stronger than he was, "One, get back to Earth, two, kill the ultimate evil and three, do it before dinner time." He finished with a smirk as he gracefully embraced his wife Bulma in a tight hug.
Batman witnessed just how terrible the multiversal spanning conflict he was in could be. But here, at this insane little world filled with incredible people that were going to help... this was the first time he'd ever felt something so profound and amazing since he was 8 years old. "So, Bulma... what's the rest of phase two?"
THE SUNDERING TRAVELS ON A FULL STOMACH
"Warworld, the planet that moves HAHAHAHA!" Janembuu laughed maniacally as he just finished eating the last candied... gladiator on Mongul's little flesh pit. "AHH I AM STARVING!" it's deep voice rang out into the arena planet's empty halls. Flying up through the ceiling in the quiet expanse of space, he saw a planet drift by... no rift, so they wouldn't really know that he postponed his arrival until a little later- he was looking for a few sweet things to tide over his hunger. It often wondered, especially recently as he finished absorbing the entire hellish demon's essence, was it the big yellow Janemba or the fatter version of itself that kept this hunger going? He never got hungry when he was... a kid. If it ever was one really. It then smiled a wicked toothless smile to itself as it thought maybe it was his esteemed guest's hunger keeping him famished?
"AHH I'm sure they won't mind too much, a single little civilisation turned into chocolate? Hmm, jelly beans? No, we just had a whole pile... CAKE! WE ALWAYS LOVED CAKE!" With a wave of the long purple tentacle adorning the back of its head, it released its magical grip on the control of Warworld's engines. "So then, Ungara, I think you're called, get ready- blink and you'll miss it!" With a whirl of his twisting, elongating body and burst of its dark, purple aura lighting up space for thousands of miles around, Janembuu flew off for food. Still smiling it's insane grin, it thought to itself, 'You've put up with all this without many complaints so far... why would this little delay get you upset now... Son Goku?'
A few people guessed it, but yes. Shit is gonna go down in a matter of hours and things in this universe will not be the same again. Just a quick request to anyone, I'll continue to make Janembuu a more vocal villain- it's more Buu than mindless otherworld demon as you'll hopefully gleam from that last bit there- any ideas on how it should speak? Crazy like Super Buu, or well-spoken and devious like Buu after it absorbed Piccolo? I'll make a power scale for my versions of these characters on the next update too.
