Chapter 10 - A Plan

"OH NO!" Ryder gasped. "This is bad, really bad!"

"I know" said Mayor Goodway, panicked. "If we don't do something, Adventure Bay is doomed!"

"Don't worry mayor" replied Ryder. "We'll get there as fast as we can!"

As Ryder hung up the call, the PAW Patrol pups looked at him. They something terrible was going on back home. Even though they were still at a young age, Ryder was always honest will them, no matter how bad the situation.

"Pups, we need to get back to Adventure Bay, NOW!" he said sternly.

"What's happened?" asked Skye concerned.

"Sweetie has teamed up with Mayor Humdinger and the Kitten Catastrophe Crew" Ryder sighed.

"Oh no!" gasped Chase. "It's my worst nightmare come true!"

"Exactly" stated Ryder "They've taken over Adventure Bay and invaded the Lookout."

"Hey" shouted Rubble. "That's our home!"

"And all our treats!" cried Marshall.

"All our friends, they must be so scared" said Rocky.

"Everest and Tracker could be in danger" said Zuma.

"We've got to put a stop to this, once and for all" Chase said, with determination and anger in his voice. The fact that his three worst enemies were now in working with each other and had destroyed his home was crossing the line.

"Alright team, lets back to the HQ and board the Air Patroller" said Ryder.

But just as they were about to leave in the Mission Cruiser, the royals stopped them.

"Wait!" called the Princess. "I'm coming with you."

"So am I" said Chloe.

"I'm sorry your highness, but it's way too dangerous" said Ryder. "It's still our job to keep you safe."

"Ryder's right" Chase said to his sister. "I just got you back sis, I'm not going to risk losing you again."

But even though the boy and his German Shepherd made a good point, Chloe and the Princess wouldn't back down. They were going with them whether they liked it or not.

"Sweetie is from my kingdom" said the Princess. "It's my duty to put her back where she belongs."

"And we twins need to stick together" Chloe said to her brother. "This is my fight too."

Realising they weren't going to win, Ryder agreed and they all climbed into the Mission Cruiser. As RoBo Dog drove them back to the secret underwater PAW Patrol HQ, the cogs in Ryder's brain were trying to formulate a plan. When they arrived, Ryder gave the pups their orders.

"Load your mini vehicles and Mission PAW pup packs onto the Air Patroller pups" he called. "I have a feeling we're going to need every tool we have."

"Roger Ryder!" the pups called back in unison.

As quickly drove their vehicles aboard, all that was running through the pups minds was their home and friends. What would happen to it if they didn't stop the new villain trio? As they took their seats on the plane, RoBo Dog swiftly took off with the engines at full speed.

"So Ryder, what's the plan?" asked Marshall.

"First, we land by the beach tower HQ" Ryder stated. "It's secluded and out of sight."

"Right, so they won't see coming" said Rocky.

"Next, we need find Everest and Tracker" Ryder continued. "We're gonna need the entire PAW Patrol team for this mission."

"Strength in numbers, good idea" smiled Skye.

"Then, we have to gather as many citizens to safety" Ryder sternly. "Making sure the people of Adventure Bay are safe is our top priority."

"Absolutely dude" said Zuma.

"What about Sweetie, Mayor Humdinger and the kittens?" asked Rubble. "We can't just let them destroy our home."

"That's next" Ryder followed. "Once we're altogether, we'll figure out how to take them down."

"You got it" Chase said proudly. "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder sir."

"And Barkingburg royals too" said Chloe, wanting to feel included.

After what seemed like hours, Adventure Bay came into view as the Air Patroller came through the clouds. The pups gazed out the windows at their town, but it was nothing like they remembered. The streets were deserted and filled with rubbish. No one was around for miles.

"What have they done?" gasped Ryder.

Meanwhile, at the Lookout, Sweetie and Mayor Humdinger were up in the control room looking through the periscope.

"Any sign of that brat and his pesky pups" asked Sweetie.

"Nope" replied the sneaky mayor. "Nothing but an empty town and clouds, just the way I like it."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the town, the Air Patroller quietly landed next the Beach Tower HQ.

"Good, I don't think we were seen" said Ryder.

"Whoa" gasped the Princess at the sight of the Beach Tower HQ. "You do sea rescues too?"

"This is so cool" Chloe gazed in amazement. "You pups are so lucky."

Once inside, the pups lined up in front of Ryder, awaiting their orders.

"Right everyone, I'm gonna send you off to do different things" he said. "I'm gonna send you in groups to keep each other safe."

The pups nodded, they knew this was the best way for everyone to stay safe."

"Rubble and Rocky, stay in you Mission PAW gear" Ryder began. "Use them and you mini vehicles to find missing people, and clear up some of the mess."

"Rubble on the double!" the English Bulldog said gruffly.

"Green means go!" the Eco pup cried.

"Skye and Marshall, I need you and your flight packs" he said. "Find Everest and Tracker."

"Let's take to the sky!" Skye woofed.

"I'm ready for a ruff ruff rescue!" Marshall barked.

"Zuma, I want you and RoBo Dog to sail out on the Sea Patroller" Ryder continued. "Scuba dive down and see if anyone is hiding out at sea."

"Let's dive in" said Zuma, followed by a robotic bark from RoBo Dog.

"What about us?" Chase asked, wondering what he and his sister were gonna do.

"Chase, you and Chloe are coming with me and the Princess" Ryder said sternly. "Whatever Sweetie, Mayor Humdinger and the kittens are planning, it has something to do with the two of you."

"The two of you must stay together at all times" the Princess added.

"We're gonna find Mayor Goodway, Katie and the others and bring them back here."

"Chase is on the case" said Chase.

"And Chloe too" Chloe said, she wished she had a cool catchphrase like her brother.

From inside his pocket, Ryder pulled out a hair clip that Katie had left behind weeks ago. But her scent was still fresh. Giving it a good long sniff, the German Shepherd twins set off on the trail with Ryder and the Princess following. As the rest of the pups took off to do their jobs, they all said one final thing to each other.

"Good luck, and be careful."
