Sorry for the delay. Had semester finals, and it was hard! But good news, no more school! Yes! No more waking up early! Well, let's enjoy this wonderful time!

Chapter 9: The Brave, The Bold, and The Banana

Phantom and Flash were in a diner, eating and flirting with two girls that were sitting near the window…well, mostly Flash. Phantom was just lazily slurping his milkshake, looking like the two girls Flash was trying to impress; very bored.

"And Solomon Grundy thought he had the drop on me," Flash said, devouring a mountain of hamburgers. "But he didn't and you know why?"

"Because you're the Flash," the girls said in a monotone.

"That's right, Fastest Man Alive," Flash said as he ate two burgers at once.

"And that's why he never got a girlfriend," he commented with a grin, causing the girls to giggle a bit and Flash to playfully glare at him.

"What about you?" Flash said as he drank a milkshake in three seconds. "You never got a date in like forever!"

"That's what you know," Danny said mysteriously. In truth, he did get a date, but it was just a friend date.

"Wait, you mean…" he stopped when he noticed an out of control truck smashing the car towards the diner. Acting fast, Flash grabbed the two girls as the car smashed through the window. Phantom stopped the car before it hit the counter.

"That hurt," he said as he shook his hands.

He and Flash looked at the runaway truck.

"Ladies, duty calls," Flash said before he dashed away and Phantom was about to follow when he was stopped by the cashier, who was holding a receipt. With a grimace, he grabbed his wallet from his pocket and gave the man fifty dollars.

"Keep the change," he said as he looked at the damage. He gave the man another fifty before waving at the girls and following Flash.

"And you said not to give them our numbers," one of the girl commented to her friend.

Meanwhile, Flash was chasing after the truck, avoiding the blasters they had. One blast hit a building, causing some debris to fall on a couple that were passing by. Flash was about to intercept when a giant green blast turned the debris into dust. Flash turned and saw Phantom flying towards hi, his hands smoking.

"That is the last time I'm buying you lunch," he said to Flash they started chasing the truck. "You owe me a hundred dollars!"

That was all the money I made babysitting, he added mentally.

"You're a ghost," Flash said, looking at him with raised eyebrow, not slowing his speed. "What do you need money for?"

"Uh…comfort?"

The Flash just nodded and started running, making the halfa sigh in relief. The two kept chasing the truck towards a suspended bridge.

"You know you're going to pay for the damage, right?" Flash shouted to the truck.

"Okay, this has gone long enough," Phantom said as he aimed a finger at the wheels, firing at it.

The rubber exploded, causing the truck to swerve out of control. Flash used his super speed to get the truckers out the truck, throwing them to the side of the bridge. The truck then smashed through the wall, hanging halfway on the edge.

Flash quickly grabbed the back of the truck as Phantom quickly flew in front of it to catch it. Before he could grab the front, a green barrier appeared around the truck. Surprised, the two heroes looked up and saw Green Lantern carrying the truck, looking at the two sternly.

"GL?" Phantom asked, surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"I was following the police call about a stolen truck," Green Lantern replied.

"Hey, we had that!" Flash said as Green Lantern put the truck down.

"I can see that," Green Lantern commented as he turned to look at the road. Phantom looked and saw the road had a lot of holes blasted the by truckers.

"In all honesty, it was mostly his fault," Phantom said, pointing at Flash.

"Hey!"

Green Lantern ignored them and flew behind the truck, using his ring to open it. When it opened, the two heroes joined him and saw the truck was full of canisters of radioactive isotopes.

"Isotopes?" Phantom commented, looking at the canisters. "Who would want to steal this stuff?"

'Maybe we should ask our band of merry thieves," Flash said, pointing at the groaning men. He grabbed one of the men by the collar and lifted him up. "All right mister…" he looked at the id on the guy's coat. "Chen, why were you stealing these isotopes?"

"What?" Chen asked, looking confused.

"You and you're friend here stole a truck of radioactive isotopes," Phantom explained, crossing his arms.

"W-w-what?" he stammered, confused. "I don't know what you're talking about! Where am I?"

The three heroes looked at him in disbelief until something in Phantom's mind click.

"What was the last thing you remembered before this?" he asked suddenly.

"I remembered…going to lunch," Chen replied, thinking about it. "After that…I blacked out."

"I was afraid of that," Phantom said. "You've been mind controlled."

"What?" Flash asked, looking at the two people, who he now realized were scientists, due to their lab coats. "How do you know?"

"Let's just say I have a few experiences with mind control," Phantom replied, remembering the time Freakshow controlled him. He then noticed the id and saw the location where the isotopes came from.

Later…

The three heroes were in the lab where the scientists stole the isotopes from. They were currently talking to the person in charge, a woman with black hair tied to a bun and wearing glasses.

"They're both highly respected in their fields, so I don't know why they would suddenly do this," she said as they entered a room with a lot of techno stuff and a cage with a gorilla in it.

"Has there anyone suspicious in the lab recently, Dr. Corwin?" Phantom asked as Flash grabbed a banana and ate it.

"No one that I know of," Corwin replied until she noticed Flash in front of the cage.

"Hey buddy, want a banana?" he said as he waved the banana in front of the gorilla, who just stared at him. The banana was suddenly snatched away from him by the woman, who pointed to the 'DO NOT FEED' sign.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have work to do," she said, clearly asking them to leave.

Shrugging, the heroes started leaving the lab, not noticing the gorilla glaring at them.

The Park…

"Seriously, you had like sixty burgers an hour ago," Phantom said as he and Green Lantern watch Flash buy a pile of hotdogs from a hotdog cart.

"I have a hyper accelerated metabolism," Flash replied with a grin. "I need to eat to keep up the cabs I'm burning."

"Dude, girls would be jealous of you," Phantom said. "Maybe that's one of the reasons you can't get a girlfriend."

Green Lantern just sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. Suddenly, they heard a ruckus. They all looked at the source and saw about dozens of police cars going towards the other side of the park. One of the citizens who came from the park were shouting "gorilla on the loose!"

"Hold this for me, will ya?" Flash said as he handed the hotdogs to Green Lantern. Before the Emerald Crusader could complain, Flash disappeared in a red blur.

"There he goes again," Phantom said with a sigh. Green Lantern placed the hotdogs on top of the cart and the two were about to follow him when the hotdog vendor suddenly stopped them.

"Is your friend gonna pay for that?" he asked, pointing at the hotdogs.

Phantom and Green Lantern shared a look before Phantom sighed, grabbing his almost empty wallet.

"How much?"

After paying for the hotdogs, the two heroes went after Flash. They flew towards the park to look for their scarlet clad friend. Well, Green Lantern was looking for him, Phantom was crying about his wallet.

"I'm gonna murder that bottomless pit," he murmured as they reached the park. "Where is he?"

Green Lantern replied by using his ring to search for him. Meanwhile, Phantom was asking the police on what the situation was. As they talked, the radio suddenly turned on. When Phantom heard what the radio just said, his eyes widened.

"Uh…GL!" he said, getting Green Lantern's attention. "I think I know where Flash is."

Later…

Flash was sitting in a small room, his hands cuffed and his head aching. In front of him were two men, one was out of shape with a balding head, and the other one was a tall blonde man with glasses. He was shocked when he watched the video tape of him stealing radioactive isotopes.

"I keep telling you, I don't know what happened," Flash said tiredly.

"Yeah, and we're supposed to believe you?" the short one asked sarcastically.

"Hey, how about a cup of coffee?" the blonde man said, holding a cup.

"Cream and sixty cubes of sugar," Flash said.

The man nodded and was about to make the coffee when he suddenly stopped. He turned to Flash with a ludicrous expression on his face.

"I'm serious," Flash said to the blond guy. "Cream and sixty cubes of sugar."

Before anyone could react, Green Lantern entered the room, holding a folder.

"He's me problem now, boys," he said as he handed the file to the bald guy. He then walked towards Flash, who grinned at him.

"Hold up," the bald guy said. "We can't just let you walk in here and take him. He's guilty!"

"If he's really guilty, do you think a pair of handcuffs could stop him?" Green Lantern asked as Flash raised his hands, holding the handcuffs. With a smirk, he gave the cuffs to the shocked police and followed Green Lantern out the building, where Phantom was waiting for them.

"Thanks a lot for bailing me out, guys," Flash said, only to get an elbow by Phantom.

"Now you owe me another sixty dollars," he said with a glare. "Good thing we didn't need bail money to get you out."

"So tell me what were you thinking when you decided to go AWOL?" Green Lantern demanded with a stern look.

"What happened, anyway?" Phantom asked, looking at Flash.

"I don't know," Flash replied as he thought about what happened. "All I remember was chasing that talking gorilla-"

"Excuse me?" Green Lantern asked, looking at Flash.

"Yeah," Flash said. "That talking gorilla that was driving that stolen car."

"It's happened," Phantom said with a sigh. "All that eating finally made you snap."

"Hey!" Flash said annoyed. "We have a Martian's number on our speed dial. I at least deserved the benefit of a doubt."

The two heroes stared at him with a critical expression. Flash did have a point, a talking gorilla could be possible. After that, the heroes sneaked in the park, avoiding the police around it.

"So, where's your magical talking gorilla?" Danny asked as they looked around the place.

"He's not magical!" Flash said in annoyed tone.

"Hold up," Green Lantern said, using his ring to search for clues. "I found some tracks."

They looked and saw gorilla foot prints on the ground. They followed the tracks that lead towards the tunnel. They followed the tracks, entering the dark tunnel.

"Is it too much to ask for light bulbs in a dark tunnel?" Phantom asked as he light up the cave with his hand. He then noticed something big and hairy in front of them. Slowly, he looked up and saw a white and gray, very angry-looking gorilla.

It roared and raised his giant fists to smash them to the ground. The heroes quickly scrambled away. Phantom landed on his knees and fired an ecto ball at the gorilla, blasting him out the tunnel. The heroes slowly made their way towards the gorilla, who was groaning painfully. It slowly opened its eyes and glared at Phantom.

"Couldn't you have chosen a more humane way?" it said in a deep voice.

Green Lantern and Phantom stared at the gorilla with wide eyes as Flash said "I told you so!"

"You…you can talk?" Phantom stammered as the gorilla stood up, dusting himself.

"Yes, I can," he said as he looked at the heroes. Phantom just stared at him before he reached for his face and pinched it, hard.

"I'm not dreaming…" he said as he looked at the gorilla. "It finally happened. I've gone crazy."

"I have no time for your nonsense," the gorilla said as he grabbed the bag he was holding. "I must stop him before it's too late."

"Hold up!" Flash said as he got in front of the gorilla. "What's going on here!? Why I there a talking gorilla here?"

The gorilla looked at him then at the other two heroes before he sighed.

"Very well," he said as he stood up straight. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Solovar, Gorilla City's Chief of Security."

The three gave the gorilla blank looks, causing him to sigh. He explained about Gorilla City being a city of hyper-intelligent gorillas in Africa, and how a gorilla named Grodd tried to take over the city with mind control. But he failed and escaped, taking some of the mind controlling device with him.

"Well, that explains the mind control and memory loss," Phantom said, looking at Flash. "You can see the talking gorilla, right?" he whispered to Green Lantern, still thinking he's gone crazy. Green Lantern sighed and nodded.

"He needs the isotopes to power his devices," Solovar continued as he walked towards a bush, which suddenly turned into a floating motorcycle. He pulled out a briefcase from the bike, opening it and pulling out a file, which he handed to Green Lantern.

"My sources told me that he is working with a Dr. Sarah Corwin," Solovar said, surprising the heroes.

"I knew there was something wrong with that lady," Flash said.

"We should contact the others," Green Lantern said as he reached for his communicator.

"Why? It's just a dumb, talking gorilla? No offense," Flash said, looking at Solovar. "We can take him."

"Wait-!" Solovar said as Flash disappeared. "He's very fast."

"Sometimes I wonder if that's a good thing," Phantom said with sigh. "So what were you going to say?"

"That these will keep Grodd from controlling us," Solovar said as he opened the case and picked up a silver headband. He handed one to each the heroes and one to himself.

"Now let's go before it's too late," Phantom said as he and Green Lantern flew towards the lab with Solovar behind them.

Laboratory…

Dr. Corwin was fixing the files in the office when Flash suddenly appeared in front of her, surprising her.

"All right lady, where's Grodd?" he demanded.

"Who?" Corwin asked, trying to look confused.

"Don't play dumb with me," Flash said, crossing his arms. "Grodd, your gorilla buddy-!" a fist suddenly blind-sided him, knocking him out.

Hanging on the ceiling was Grodd, sneering at Flash.

"That was for the banana," he said as Corwin handed him a golden helmet.

Suddenly, the wall exploded and Solovar came in, holding a gun. Behind him were Phantom and Green Lantern, who looked ready to fight.

"Dude, you could have used the front door," Phantom said as he raised his glowing fists.

"It's over, Grodd," Solovar said, ignoring Phantom.

"It's far from over, Solovar," Grodd said with grin as his helmet stated glowing.

Without warning Flash opened his eyes and stood up, looking at them with a blank expression.

"Destroy them," Grodd said.

In a red blur, Flash appeared in front of Phantom and punched him on the jaw. Green Lantern tried to grab him, but Flash disappeared and bashed him on the side.

"Ow…" Phantom said, rubbing his jaw. Flash then appeared in front of him with a blank look. "…Are you mad about the girlfriend comment?"

The next thing he knew, Phantom was flying towards the table where Flash threw him. Solovar tried to restrain him, but Flash was too fast to catch. He spun around Solovar so fast, the gorilla got dizzy and fell on the ground.

During the confusion, Grodd and Corwin went downstairs.

Flash then appeared in front of Solovar and was about to punch his face when a green light slammed him into the ground. Flash tried to move, but he was trapped by green restraints, thanks to Green Lantern.

"Snap out of it, Flash," Green Lantern said to the struggling speedster.

"You can fight it, man," Phantom said, looking at Flash.

"Allow me," Solovar said as he walked towards Flash, taking of his headband and placing it on Flash. Flash then stopped struggling and blinked.

"Uh…why am I on the ground?" he asked, looking at them.

"Good to have you back," Phantom said as Green Lantern let him up. "Now let's stop big, dark, and ugly."

They ran down the stairs, towards the place where the lab's reactor is located. When they got there, Grodd was finished remodeling the reactor.

Solovar and the heroes ran towards Grodd and Corwin near the reactor, but they were stopped by a force field.

'My apologies for the hasty exit," Grodd said as he and Corwin hopped on the flying motorcycle that was located near the reactor. "But I have a city to overthrow."

He held a remote and pressed the button, causing the reactor to activate. Grodd then made his exit, leaving the heroes with the reactor.

"Any ideas on how to stop it?" Phantom asked as he fired at the force field.

"I have a few, but we don't have time," Solovar said as the reactor was engulf in a bright light.

Green Lantern tried to use his ring to push the explosion back, but it was too strong. Soon, they were all engulfed in the explosion.

I'm going to end it now with a cliffy, since I know how eager you are with the updates. Hope you like it. Anyway, I'm now happy with summer break, I am now allowed to sleep all day and wake up all night. Well, review time!

ramasitoti100- Aw shucks! Thanks man! And Superman would try to kill him if it was one of those classic cartoon shows with overprotective fathers.

Engineer4Ever- Sam would be jealous, Tucker would be jealous, and side stories would be great. I'll see if I can make an Omake from time to time.

BBRAE623- Super crush! And who's Morbo? And don't worry, there will be some chapters of occasional team ups.

JP-Rider- Sam's too peaceful, she will be jealous. As for Paulina…that would be a good plot. First, I need to do the Public Enemy episode. That would be good.

shugokage- Thanks. SG and DP team up!

Darkphantomgamer- Sorry, Dan Phantom will not appear in the Justice Lords, you'll understand why. And yeah, writer's blocks in a pain! So is laziness.

RHatch89- Thanks.

Inviso-Al- Yes we will, ad next is the giant talking gorilla.

kidcraxy- Yes, he will appear in the future.

DC Fan- Thanks for the info, and those are some pretty good pairings on the JL world. I could probably do one of those complicated hero relationships. Hehehehe. Make the hero suffer with complicated girl problems. Hahaha! And yeah, I'm kind a Batman X Wonder Woman fan. And Red Arrow does have the way with the lady assassins. Thanks again!

timijaf- Why thank you very much.

KodiakWolfe13- Thanks for the comment, and for understanding my reason for not being able to update faster. And Batman did have a lover. In fact he had a son. Damian Wayne. Yup, he got gamed. And for Phantom Evolution, now that's a different story, literally. And really? Pizza was used for killing? Who knew?

allietheepic7- I spy with my little eye…an apple pie. I'm hungry.

ShatteredPrime1994- Thanks. I'll be sure to make some chapters about the pairing.

dracula-key- You will, don't worry. Yeah, the YJ version of War World was more…updated than the JL version. And really? Three girls share the same voice, now that's crazy. And yeah, can't wait to do that Starcrossed movie. That would be good! And yeah, Knightb of Shadows would be in the chapter. As well as Fury, even though she was a psychopath, she was hot! And I don't mind the review.

Danny angel- Thanks. And maybe I'll do that episode.

RandomCitizen- Yes, that's life. Yes, Sam is kinda like a hypocrite. She spied on Danny on his date with Valerie, yet she became mad when Danny spied on her with that snobby Greg guy. And Walker will show up. He's next after the Brave and the Bold episode. Dani will appear in JLU.

Looking4Misteria- Thanks. And Supergirl is likable, despite the fact she can punch a hole through a guy.

The Keeper of Worlds- Emphasis on the shocking part.

Guest- That's no contest; everyone knows women are stronger. I should know, I lost to one in arm wrestling. My pride died that day…

Guest2- Nah, that'd be weird. Maybe Dan could do that.

Spartan-626- Well, Danny's a bit older than in the canon, for only two years…and Kara's seventeen in this story…I'm not good with ages.

Guest3- Sounds painful to…"spend the night" with Supergirl…Poor Ghostboy. And yeah, a super powered girl with that time of the month will not be pretty. Funny, but not pretty.

unknown- Well, there are witches and magic involved, so Blood Blossoms could be included. As for the unconscious part…maybe I should just get rid of that one…what do you think?

KodiakWolfe13- Don't worry, I know how that happens. So Dan Phantom won't appear in Justice Lords. In fact, there's a surprise in the Justice Lords episode. Also, it means you have an open mind, and that's good.

DannyPhantom619- No I didn't. That will appear next season. I mean common, those powers didn't exist until season three.

Richard1081- Wonder who is…some girls are stronger than boys, prime examples are Wonder Woman, Supergirl, etc. But Danny is stronger than he looks. And Danny will get new powers. As for the going to the past idea, thank you for giving me that idea.

the great fan- Thanks. Glad you love it. And Sam and Tucker…hm…that could work.

JoWashington- Then there will be more chapters to come!

I am loving the feedbacks I am getting! Keep it up people! I hunger for your comments. Hope you like the chapter and all its humor and action, mostly humor. In the great words of whoever said this first, see you later!
