Lights in the Dark

Back to early morning in Chiba City, Seto was in one of the hotel's private corridors. They were getting ready for a huge press conference his team had scheduled for that day. He thought back at the short time he spent here they only had small showings at the Consumer Electronics Show event, where they had presented their new technologies they're working on, like cellular phones, tablets, apps, computer software etc. Now today was where they would present their new gaming system and exclusive games that would go along with it. He had to admit it he was looking forward to it. He then mentally smirked to himself.

He enjoyed showing off his products to his competitors. Despite that, he missed Joey and especially his littler brothers. That was why he was pleased when he was able to chat with Joey this morning even though most of their conversation wasn't in good spirits and his love looked tired but was happy to see his face.

He frowned mentally as he thought about Mokuba. He hoped his brother was doing all right and wasn't letting those so called boys awful remarks bring him down. Those kinds of statements weren't worth the thought and even though he ground him the weekend for fighting in school, he was still glad Mokuba kicked that punk's butt in his opinion. He then wondered how Noa was getting along.

And hoped he was at least doing okay. He knew his brother was sick for a short time and still felt a bit anxious about staying with Bakura and Marik. But as he talked with Marik, his friend reassured him that his brother was doing all right and no need to worry, however, he couldn't help but worry about his brothers. He inhaled a deep breath when he moved his thoughts to Joey again. He dreaded the fact that his love was alone with his so called father for that long. He better not find one bruise of any sort on him when he got back, he stiffened his brow.

"Hmm no that's not what supposed to happen. Just give me one second Mr. Kaiba while I'll try to fix it here. Shit come on, come on work... please work."

Seto was then pulled out of his thoughts. He looked over to one of his programmers, who were trying to get their new gaming system to work. He wanted to make sure it was at its top quality before he presented it. Needless to say it wasn't going very well. He rubbed his forehead stressfully while he felt a headache started to form. "Hmmm," he groaned irritated with a narrowed brow.

He watched the young man struggled with the demonstration, a pretty lousy one at that. He looked at his watch, a good five minutes already passed, he felt his patience grew increasing thin. He furrowed his brow more annoyed that the screen kept flashing an error message. He crossed his arms tightly and observed him struggle with the program. He shook his head glaringly at the young man.

"Come on..."

"I seriously hope," Seto finally had enough of this nonsense, "That you don't expect me to take this piece of crap to the KaibaCorp press conference?" His tone was cold as usual. "Please tell me you have more?" He scoffed at the young man, "Please tell me you have something that is halfway decent for the presentation," he molded his face tough now, he saw the young man gulp hard, that was good.

"W-Well I-"

"I mean, you certainly don't want me looking like a fool when I go up on stage." Seto narrowed his eyes sharp at the young man. "You don't want me looking like a fool do you Mr..." he pressed his lips thin. He felt his temper rise just a bit.

" N-Noro sir. Joji Noro sir and no of course not Mr. Kaiba."

"Noro?" Seto rubbed his chin somewhat, "Did I just hire you?"

Again, Noro gulped hard, "Yes sir," he chewed his lip nervously.

"I see." Seto was now had serious doubts on the young man's computer skills. He creased his brow hard at him, "Well, I surely hope I didn't make a mistake."

"Oh no, you didn't Mr. Kaiba sir. I mean, it'll be ready for the presentation."

"For you job sakes it better be ready." Seto whipped around, he shook his head again disappointed. "Kamio!" he stomped right over to him. Why couldn't he ever find decent workers in his city? It was bad enough that he didn't really want to go on this stupid business trip, it'd be worst if he brought half-ass products to showcase to the public. He could just hear the snickers now echoing in his ears.

Kamio looked up from what he was doing, he saw Mr. Kaiba stomp over with a look of annoyance on his face. He sighed some, "Yes sir Mr. Kaiba," he replied.

"I thought when I send newbies to you. You'll have enough sense in your head to train them properly." Seto narrowed his eyes, "Was I wrong?" he tilted his head.

"I believe I do sir," Kamio began.

"Oh really cause I don't see the contrary to that," Seto scoffed again, he pointed to back of him, "That idiot can't even program a coding right," he shook his head.

Kamio wrinkled his brow. He really wished Mr. Moto was here with them, he had more patience and understanding than Mr. Kaiba had. But alas he went to oversee the set up for KaibaCorp's presentation. Instead, he rubbed his forehead slightly, "He just needs time sir. He'll get it I'm sure," he tried to reassure his boss.

"Well he better get it," Seto inhaled a sharp breath, "I don't have time to stand here and babysit the two of you so go over there and help him fix the coding. I want that new system ready when it's time to present it, clear," he ordered.

Kamio inhaled another breath, "Yes sir, I'll do that right away."

"Mmm," Seto shook his head with irritation before he walked away.

Kamio lessened his eyes at Noro who viewed the ground very disappointed. He went over and rested a supportive hand on his shoulder, "Joji, you okay?"

"Yeah, just dandy," Noro frowned heavily, "The one chance to impress Mr. Kaiba and I blew it big time," he inhaled a jagged breath. He shaped his face somewhat.

"Don't take it to heart." Kamio lessened his eyes, "I've come to work for this company for many years and from what Mr. Moto had always told me. Mr. Kaiba can be hard and quite tough but deep down he's somewhat of a decent person." He looked around for moment before he whispered to him. "He just doesn't like to show it to anyone," he chuckled some, "He just likes everything done with efficiency and professionalism, you know," he squeezed his shoulder more.

Noro furrowed his brow, "Well I would like it if he would lighten up more."

"Oh, he's very hard on you because he sees your potential that's all. So don't let his bark or his bite discourage you any, okay." Kamio gave him confident smile, "I'm sure it'll be ready on time so let's get back to work." He watched Noro nod, determined to prove himself more than ever to Mr. Kaiba and preceded fix the coding right away. He knew if he didn't Mr. Kaiba would fire him for sure.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Luckily, Seto still had some time before he had leave so he went back up to his room. He entered and plopped down on his bed with an unenthusiastic expression. He would enjoy showcasing his new products to the public, he wasn't looking forward to the interviews, the cameras flashing and the fan screams.

Yes he dreaded it all. He inhaled a breath and slowly pushed up into a sitting position. Maybe he should call his brothers just to see how they were doing. Mokuba first, he reached into his pocket, took out his cell phone and dialed his home number. "Hey Charles, it's me. I would like to speak with Mokie. Is he busy right now? …. Yes, put him on if you can." He waited for a moment before he perked up at the sound of his little brother's voice. It always cheered him up when he was having a bad day. He hoped his brother was feeling better from the fight.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Mokuba sat in the backyard with the puppies beside him when he looked up. He saw Mr. Fields wandered over to him with the phone. He inhaled a jagged breath. He knew exactly who that was, his big brother calling again to check on him. He just sat there and shook his head slightly. He wished his brother would relax.

Mr. Fields went out and wandered over the boy. He held the phone out for him. "It's your brother," he said quietly and handed it to him a warm smile.

Mokuba took it from him, he watched him leave back into the house then took a moment before he answered, "Hello?" he chewed his lip when heard Seto's voice.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Seto smiled into the receiver, "Hey Mokie, I had some free time so I thought I call ya to say hi," he thought he heard him sigh some into the phone. He knew that sigh. His brother was probably annoyed at him for being such a worry wart. But as his mind flashed back to Yami's bathroom, he just couldn't help it. He didn't want Mokuba to do that, not again. He frowned heavily at that dreadful thought.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Mokuba shook his head a little crusty. That was the second time he'd called him today. He knew his brother just worried about him, even more after what happened at school. But he probably knew why, he viewed the scars on his wrists then felt his mind drifted back to that dreadful day in Yami's bathroom. The day he almost ended his own life. He sighed, no, he had no desire to do that again.

He wished Seto wouldn't fear about that. He was fine as he told him. He sighed again, he didn't want to bring down his mood so he brighten up his voice instead, "Hi Seto," he smiled for a sec. He felt bored though because he couldn't watch TV or go on any computers or play any games so there wasn't much to do there.

Mr. Fields was busy cleaning the house, Bakura and Marik were at work, Joey wouldn't be there until Thursday and Noa was at the center. So he was feeling kinda lonely then suddenly Jun ran up and lay down in front of him with a dog toy in his mouth. He shook his head with delight and petted him. At least he was in good company. He took the toy and tossed out a ways for him to go fetched it.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Seto relaxed his body at the sound of his bright voice. It made him feel less uptight, "It's so good to hear your voice," he softened his eyes "You're still not mad at me for grounding you for fighting... right." He inhaled a short breath, he hated if Mokuba was, "Cause even though it might good at the time fighting isn't the way to solve problems, agreed," he repeated on what had Joey told him earlier. He shook his head for a moment and still thought the little punk needed his butt kicked good, he smirked some. He then heard his brother sigh again.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Mokuba rubbed his brow understandingly, "No... I'm not mad," as he thought back he knew there was a better way to handle the situation, he nodded some.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"All right then, "Seto creased his brow, should he dare ask him again, "So how're you doing?" he cleared his throat for a moment. He waited eagerly for a reply.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"I've told you already," Mokuba rolled his eyes at the obvious question. "I'm fine Seto," his voice now sounded snippy with him. He wished Marik hadn't told him about what the fight was about. It only made Seto's anxiety worse. His brother didn't need that right now, he wanted him to focus on the press conference.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Seto frowned at his snippiness, "I was just making sure Mokie, that's all."

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Mokuba looked down at once. He didn't mean to snap at him. He could almost picture his brother frowning on the other end of the phone. He lessened his brow, "I'm sorry Seto, I didn't mean to be snippy with you big brother," he apologized whole heartedly. He knew Seto was doing it out of care for him, he was glad.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"No, no it's okay," Seto reassured that he wasn't mad at him for that. "I'm probably driving you crazy with all my worry huh," he laughed slightly.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"Yeah, you are." Mokuba agreed and heard him laugh slightly. By that he smiled too, "I know you're worried because of what happened but you don't need to. I'm okay Seto, really," What those boys said did hurt him deeply but he wasn't going to let it bring him down for long, he was much stronger than that. So he turned back to the conversation, "Please stop asking, okay," he softened his face.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Seto nodded even though his brother couldn't see. "All right, I'll drop it."

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"Good," Mokuba smirked himself, "Tell me what you're up to over there?" he carefully laid down on the grass as he listened to his brother tell him all about his time over at the Chiba City. He grinned when Seto told him that they were revealing their new gaming system to the masses today. "That's awesome bro!" He let a giggle escape his lips when both puppies started to climb all over him so they can lick his face. Suddenly, he cringed a bit painfully when they hit his sore ribs. "Oww…" he groaned into the phone. That was really smart of them.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Seto heard that, "What was that?" he then calmed down when Mokuba told him that he was okay, that he was lying on the ground and the puppies just briefly hit his sore ribs. "Oh, okay. Just take it easy then. I don't want you to get hurt even more. All right," he creased his brow, "All right, well I got to go now. It's almost time for me to leave. I want to head down there early. So I'll talk to you later, okay." He smiled a bit warmly, "Love you too Mokie … Bye," he hung up and placed it back into his pocket. He was relieved that Mokuba was doing okay.

He wanted to call Noa but decided to call later after the presentation, like Mokuba he already called him twice today and he didn't want to drive him crazy either. He shook his head with some amusement, they were right, he did need to chill out. Tiredly, he rested back down on the bed and closed his eyes for a time, a half an hour later he was abruptly pulled out of his light sleep from knock at his door. "Yes?" he said in an uninterested tone. He rubbed his face for a bit tired.

"Mr. Kaiba, your car has arrived." A man said through the door.

Seto drew in a breath and got up from his bed. He went over to the door, gave it a moment before he opened it and viewed a bellboy there with a stone cold look.

"Shall we go Mr. Kaiba?"

"I suppose," Seto furrowed his brow, "Might as well get it this over with." But first he went over to the mirror briefly and made a look over. He wanted to make sure he looked sharp for the presentation. Satisfied, he then followed the man out of the room and down to where the car waited. He got in and sat back in his seat.

It had taken them about twenty-five minutes to arrive. When he got out, he spotted Yami at the far right waiting patiently for him. He sighed again and dragged his feet over, "Hey Yami," he greeted him with a stale tone. He looked him over once more and noted how well rested he appeared. He was almost glad that he let him go on that vacation a few weeks back or his friend would still look like crap, he smirked mentally to himself. That wouldn't make a good impression.

Yami smiled, "Seto," he gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder, he viewed his friend looking quite sharp but the look on his face was stone hard, "Ready to go?" he smirked a bit. He knew his friend hated being here. But if they wanted to promote his company and his products they had to be. He led him to the stairs.

Seto uneven his brow, "I guess," they ascended the stairs that lead to the entrance, he could hear the loud crowd and noise inside the building.

"So how are you feeling?" Yami causally asked. Recently, his friend had told him about Noa becoming ill for time then about Mokuba's fight at school. He lessened his eyes when he thought about that. Poor boy had such horrible things spurred at him like that. It still saddened his heart that human beings could be that cruel. In his belief, children should be taught kindness and understanding with treating others, not the over way around. He shook his head disappointed at that thought.

"I'm okay, I suppose. Although I wished my family was here to see this. I'm sure they would have enjoyed it if they were." Seto simply replied, the two entered the lobby and he instantly cringed at the noise of the crowd. He groaned a bit as the two made their way to their assigned quarters. He rubbed his forehead a bit.

Yami knew Seto felt a bit down about that so he lined his brow brightly at his colleague, "Don't worry about that my friend, it's all taken care of. I have asked one of our assistants to record the whole thing so you could show them later."

Seto smiled just a bit, grateful that his friend arranged that for him, "Thanks Yami… I appreciate that." He then switched his demeanor to his brassy one when they were approached by one of their nervous assistants. "Hmm," he viewed him with a stone face and furrowed his brow unenthusiastically at the young man.

"Oh good, Mr. Moto, M-Mr. Kaiba you're here." The dark haired gentlemen walked up to them, tablet in hand. "I have your schedules." He looked over it for a second, "Let's see, the KaibaCorp press conference is in twenty minutes. Don't worry everything's ready to go with the new products and of course the demonstration of the new game system with Noro. The show should last for about an hour and half to two hours. After that you have three interviews lined up," he glanced up to Mr. Kaiba's blank stare and swallowed down his uneasiness.

Yami on the other hand just smiled at the young man, "Sound great Aki."

"Yeah, can't wait," Seto replied in his sarcastic tone, he then viewed up behind him to Noro and hardened his face. He moved pass him to where he was and stood there with his arms folded before he cleared his throat to grab his attention. "I do hope that everything's ready to go Noro," his voice was tough.

Noro glanced up a bit startled to see his boss hardened eyes, "Mr. Kaiba. I was just checking Kaiplay3 game system and yes everything's working just fine," he swallowed the big knot he felt in his throat, he prayed to the heavens that he wouldn't screw up. Nope, that would be good for him. His job was on the line.

"For your job's sake it better be ready," Seto warned him again. After what he saw this morning, he still had doubts that the guy was able to fix the coding on time. He didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of a whole freaking audience.

Yami then stepped forward, "I'm sure you'll do just fine Noro." He reassured him with a warm smile. He had heard that the pretest for the new game system didn't exactly go well. He just prayed that everything will go well that time, he knew the wrath that Noro would receive if it didn't. He glanced over to Seto for second and hoped his friend wouldn't lose his temper. No, that wouldn't be good for anyone.

Noro relaxed a bit, he nodded glad that Mr. Moto was there. He felt less nervous. "Thank you sir," he inhaled a huge breath to calm his nerves. He sure needed it.

"Hmm," Seto creased his brow. He was about to say something more when he was interrupted by their assistant again. He just viewed him with cold eyes.

Aki hurried up to them, "Mr. Kaiba, Mr. Moto, the conference is about to start in ten minutes. You should head up on stage and get ready," he motioned for them.

Seto simply nodded and both he and Yami went to do so. When they entered the large quarters he viewed around for a moment then went up on stage and plopped down into his assigned seat at the middle of the table. He taken a moment, reached into his pocket for his phone and shut it off. He surely didn't want it to ring while the presentation was going on. That would be embarrassing.

Once he did that he placed into his pocket, leaned back in his chair and waited impatiently for it to start and end. After two minutes, he finally watched as one of his associates walked up the podium with a smile. Finally, he was tired of waiting.

Yami sat beside Seto with an excited face. He brightened up when finally the lights dimmed down just enough, it was starting, "All right, here we go," he whispered to his friend. He thought he heard him sigh just slightly, however he leaned back into his seat while their associate spoke with the audience excitedly.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen!" Seto heard him start out with, "I welcome you all to the KaibaCorp's two thousands and fourteen press conference here in Chiba City. I'm sure you're-" he halved listened to the introduction though. His mind was too preoccupied with longing thoughts of home. He sat back tiredly and let his mind drift along. When the intro was done his team jumped right into the demonstrations, the previews and so forth, this was going take a least an hour or two before they finished, he could tell. He drew in a long breath and let it out.

By mid-afternoon, finally it was all over. The doors were opened and piles of people now left the quarters, chatting excitedly among themselves on what was display before their eyes. Seto walked out of the large quarters along with Yami and Noro, he was pleased on what he saw too. He molded his face satisfied.

"Now I think that went quite well," Yami smiled as he walked out. He was very pleased on what they accomplished, "Would you agree Mr. Kaiba?"

"I suppose Mr. Moto." Seto agreed contently, happy he had survived yet another one that year. He had admitted though, that one was better than last year.

"From what I gathered everyone seemed very enthusiastic about the new game system." Yami lined his face more pleased, "Did you see their responds when we showcase the game-play of the games that we're working on for later this year." The demonstration was spot on, he couldn't be more proud of their work.

"Yeah, I saw that Moto." Seto couldn't help but smirk himself. He always took pride in his company and the things they could produce from it. "I got to hand it to you Noro. You did manage to pull your shit together on time." He threw his looked over to him but not as hard as before, "I just might keep you around yet." Suddenly, he remembered he had his phone turned off, someone might be calling. So he took it out and switched it back on then placed it back quickly.

Yami nodded, "Yes, very well done Noro," he viewed him with a smile.

Noro smiled himself, "Thank you Mr. Kaiba sir. Mr. Moto," he was glad that he managed to pull it off too, more so that Mr. Kaiba was satisfied with him finally. He knew he would be able to prove that he could do the job right, he beamed.

Seto smirked more and about say something else when suddenly he saw Aki rushed up to him again. He sighed deeply. Oh great, what now he thought.

Aki hurried up to them one again, "Mr. Kaiba, if you're ready. They're waiting to do your interview right over there," he pointed over to the right of them.

"Hmm..." Seto frowned, he hated these kind of interviews the most, especially now. They always seemed to drift off-topic like how his relationship with Joey was going or like Yami had any duels set up. But recently these interviewers would now ask about what happened, about Mokuba's suicide attempt and reason behind it all and of course both his bothers ongoing therapy down at the children's center downtown. He shook his head slightly to himself annoyed.

He wished that people would mind their own damn business and moved on from it. He would never admit it but he was very grateful he had Yami there, who had a very cool head to back him up if he needed it, because he would sure need it.

Yami noticed his frown then. He knew how much he hated interviews such as these. Seto would never admit it but he knew his friend was grateful that he was there to back him. "Shall we go, Mr. Kaiba," he clasped his shoulder momentarily but pulled it back when he felt Seto stiffen from his touch, he softened his face.

He mentally rolled his eyes when Seto shot him a warning glare. He inhaled a breath and followed him to where the interview was taking place. Once they arrived he sat down in chair next Seto, he viewed over to him briefly and noticed his unenthusiastic but slightly, very slightly nervous face. He just hoped his friend would conduct himself well with the interviewer but he wouldn't hold his breath.

Aki stood a ways back with a nervous brow. He knew by the look on Mr. Kaiba's face, he wasn't going to go easy on the young interviewer. As he thought back to all the other past interviews he witnessed, his boss never was easy on them. He hoped the guy wouldn't ask him the wrong questions and take a bad turn. Heaven help him if he did, he chewed his lip nervously as he continued to view his boss.

Seto sat in his chair, his arms crossed tightly with a scrunched up look. He breathed a bit jaggedly, well, are they going start this thing or what? He thought with some annoyance. He wanted to get this over with. He had better things to do, like go back to his hotel room and lie down. He stiffened his brow then.

"Ah, Mr. Kaiba, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Seto looked up briefly to the young man. He reached out and shook his offered hand then returned to this previous position. "Yeah, can't say the same though," was all he said to him. He hoped the guy won't ask any questions about his family. He didn't mind being in the hot seat but when it came to them they were off limits. Again it wasn't anyone's business but their own. He scowled at that.

The young man smile dropped a little from his coarse attitude. From all the people he could interview, he had to get stuck with Seto Kaiba. Instead, he turned his attention to the next gentleman, he gave him a smile, greeting him, "Hello, Mr. Moto," he shook his hand kindly, happy that at least he was there.

"Hello," Yami shook his hand back. He leaned back in his chair and threw a glance over to his friend. He prayed to the heavens that Seto would keep himself civil but as he thought earlier, he wouldn't hold his breath, he lessened his face some.

"Have any duel tournaments lined in the near future?" The young man lined his brow at him excitedly, "I'm sure the fans would love to know. The last one you did was the Best of the Best Tournament for the children's center a while back."

Yami shook his head, "Not as yet I'm afraid but I'll be sure to let the fans know when there will be one on Facebook, Twitter and our website, you know." He then looked over to Seto slightly and saw him lock his jaw. He could see the distant in his eyes. He knew that night was hard for him to remember.

"Very cool, we all can't wait," The young man smiled big at that. He furrowed his brow at the King of Games, "And, what about your store? Do you have any new shipments of duel cards coming soon?" he leaned forward with some eagerness.

Yami nodded his head, "Of course, we always do." He beamed at the mention of their grandfather store. It was their pride and joy, especially for Yugi. He sighed somewhat, "Although you might have to wait until fall when those are available on the shelves or our website. You see Yugi's vis-" he began to say but was cut off.

Seto then narrowed his brow at the guy as he snapped out if his memories. He huffed, "Can we get this interview started already," he cut in with annoyance.

"Sure Mr. Kaiba," The young man cleared his throat some. He reached into his pocket for his notepad. He glanced over the questions for a quick sec.

Seto watched him pulled out a notepad and give it a quick glance. He just sighed deeply. When the interview started he let Yami answer most of the same old questions because truthfully, he didn't know much because of his leave of absence. They were asking about their upcoming products, their new game system, where you can find all the information on their website, their Twitter and on their Facebook page. It wasn't until ten minutes into it when the conversation took a slight turn. He mentally rolled his eyes, here they go. He scowled slightly while he tapped his finger for a moment. The man better not ask the wrong thing.

"I got to say Mr. Kaiba that everyone was quite surprised at the sudden adoption of young Noa Kaiba." The young man began, "People would like to know if he's adjusting well to your home," he raised a curious brow as he studied his face.

Seto shifted in his seat, "Noa is doing very well in our home, thank you."

"That's good to hear. I mean, with all the kids you could have picked. What made you decided to choose a kid like Noa to take in anyway?" The young man viewed him curiously. He wanted to know if Kaiba had done it out of pity or did he do it for some other reason? He raised a curious brow again while he thought that.

"Noa's a sweet and loving child when I met him," Seto softened his look just enough, "And I clearly saw that he needed a family to belonged to so I stepped up and offered him one, a pretty good one." He hardened his look once again, "I didn't take him in out of pity of that's what you were referring to," he locked his jaw tightly and could feel his temper rise. He saw him shift in his seat nervously.

"So you don't consider him to be damaged goods then?"

"Of course I don't," Seto snapped at him. "That was a shitty thing to say."

"I agree, it wasn't done out of pity." Yami chimed in. He sat back long enough listening to this man's questioning about Noa. He shaped his face a bit serious, "That wasn't a nice thing to say about the child. Believe me, Noa has it all together and he's NOT damaged goods in any way shape or form." He expressed in a miffed tone. He viewed over to Seto for a second and saw him hardened his look with each passing second. By that he could tell that the young man should change the subject before his friend lost his temper with him completely.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it in that way gentleman, really." The young man lessened his brow some, "I-I was just asking cause I thought that it must be hard for him," he swallowed hard as he continued, "Knowing that he lived in a mental institution for a long time," he slipped that in, he the saw Mr. Kaiba lined his brow rough.

"And what exactly are you implying now?" Seto lined his brow roughly.

"Nothing," The young man shifted nervously, "I was thinking that it must be challenging for him to adjust to a home life after coming from that."

"First of all, it wasn't a 'mental institution'. It was a therapy sanctuary and challenges, yes there are some," Seto answered in a serious tone. He thought of his brother briefly and all they had accomplished with him since then and all the things they were still working on now. Still he gave him a confident look for only just a moment, "But we're working through them," he confirmed to the man.

"Could give us more insight into that or more of the boy's past history?"

"No," Seto toughened his look at him again, "Move on to something else."

The young man took the hint and nodded his head. He looked down to his notepad. "Going to back your work, it must been hard Mr. Kaiba to keep up with your company considering on all that had happened in the past year and a half." The man swallowed a bit, he didn't want to continue to ask him these questions but he was told by his boss that he had to or it was his butt. He inhaled a breath, "Do you feel like you're finally caught up?" he looked back to the young CEO.

"I suppose," Seto inhaled a breath himself, his face never changed one bit, "But I had strong confidence in my team to run things while I was gone. Especially Mr. Moto here so I wasn't too worried about it," he simply replied. Yes, he was grateful to have Yami at his side. He threw his friend a thankful look then.

Yami couldn't help but smile more at the statement. It was rare for Seto to give him a compliment in front of people, so he welcomed it very much. He beamed.

"Were you at all shocked when you found out that your former associate Baiko Doi was the one behind the kidnapping of your other younger brother Mokuba?"

Seto stiffened his brow hatefully at Baiko's name. Here the guy goes again, asking questions that weren't the public business to know. He was about to reply when Yami stepped in quickly, "Of course we were," he creased his brow, "Though I'm sure we're not here to discu-" he began seriously but was cut off by Seto again.

"I can answer for myself Moto," Seto cut him off, he turned back to the guy. "Baiko Doi was nothing more than a sick and twisted individual that basked in his own make-believe delusions," he simply stated with deep narrowed eyes.

"Then you don't even know why he would commit such devious deeds?"

"No, I don't. Why don't YOU ask him?" Seto snorted some, "Oh that's right, he's dead, sorry," he replied in sarcastic tone. He hardened his brow more, "Now I think I've wasted enough time and energy on this. So this stupid interview is over," he stood up and walked away from them without giving the interviewer time to respond. He knew if he stayed he would begin to ask more serious questions and he didn't want to answerer any of them. He would lose his temper for sure and that wouldn't be good. So he let Yami finish it instead, he was tired and wanted head back to his hotel so he continued to the exit when suddenly…

"Why, my, my, my, it's Kaiba-boy himself. You know despite your breakdown you had you look quite well," came a taunting voice behind him. "Yes, quite well."

Seto paused at mid step. He knew that high pitch voice anywhere. He turned around with a displeased look. "Well look what decided to crawl out from under its rock," he molded his face distastefully. "Maximillion Pegasus," he crossed his arms tightly, "I guess they'll let any loser in here," he scoffed a little irritated.

Pegasus strolled up to him with a smirk, "Now Kaiba-boy, is that the way you greet an old friend," he saw him tapered his eyes sharp at that, he loved it.

"Old friend, give me a break. We were never friends Pegasus."

"Come, come Kaiba-boy, you're hurting my feelings."

"Hm," Seto never changed his posture, "Like I care," he narrowed his brow.

Pegasus chucked at that, "Say good job on the presentations." He lined his face mockingly at him, "I must say I'm quite impressed," he flipped his hair back before he clasped his chest with his hand. He could tell that he was getting on Kaiba's nerves. He smirked at him again pleased at that, he loved to tick him off.

"Well you should be," Seto pointed his nose up at him with a sneer.

"My word. Why so much hostility Kaiba-boy?"

"I have the right Pegasus. I mean, the last time we've meet you'd tried to take over KaibaCorp," Seto rutted his brow angrily. "And held my brother captivate to do so." He snorted some while he felt his temper start to rise. He wanted to punch that mockingly smirk off his ugly face right then. He grinded his teeth.

"Well, you hadn't brought any charges against me for that. So I assume that was all water under the bridge." Pegasus smirked more. He loved to rattle the CEO's cage, "Besides… I didn't hurt your brother the way Doi did," he let that sting him.

Seto eyes flashed red when said that. He hardened his whole body roughly. He had enough of him then. How dare he say that to him? He glared his eyes more at his taunting grin, "You know what..." he finally said. He knew he shouldn't, Joey would have a field day but at that very moment he didn't much care if he did.

"What?"

Before Seto gave him any chance to react, he balled fist tightly, pulled back and punched him square right in the nose. Just in time for Yami to walk up to them and witness it all with shock. Pegasus fell onto the floor and immediately clenched his now bloody nose, "Oh my nose!" he gasped painfully, "My beautiful nose!" he cried out with some tears in his eyes. He squirmed around on the floor in agony.

Yami cringed and covered his face in disbelief, "Oh… my… god."

Seto just rubbed his hand briefly were it stung a bit, "You know Pegasus. It's been fun chatting with you." He creased his brow amusingly as he watched wallow around in misery, "We ought to doing it again sometime," and with that he simply turned around and walked away from him. He still shouldn't have done it. He knew it wasn't a good example for his brothers since he had grounded Mokuba for the doing almost the same thing. He just could almost hear Joey's scolding voice in his head but he still didn't care at the moment. Pegasus was asking for it.

Yami watched him leave with a baffled look. He should go after him but no. Instead, he viewed over to Pegasus who was starting to make a commotion, people were gathering around him. He knew if didn't act quick there was going to be serious repercussions he had no doubt about that. So he went over to do some serious damage control before it got out of hand. They just finished displaying their new products to the public and they sure didn't need the bad press. He inhaled a deep breath and reached out to help him off the floor, "Here Pegasus let me help you up," he began in apologetic tone, he was still in disbelief.

Meanwhile Seto continued to walk out of the building and toward his car. When he got there, he got in and slammed his door shut. He didn't want to wait around to hear Yami's lecture about keeping himself civil, "Take me back to my hotel," he ordered the driver and saw him nod, the man start up the car and drove off.

He leaned back into the cushion of the seat when suddenly his phone rang. He groaned before he answered it. "Yeah, what do YOU want?" he hissed into the receiver, he was in no mood for anything right now. He then changed his tone at who it was, "Joey…?" he listened intensely at his love's upset voice, "What's the matter?" he creased his brow seriously, "Missing? What do you mean he's missing?" he felt his heart rate speed up when heard Joey explain on what was going on. He looked on fearfully, "All right, I'll be there as soon as I can," he hung up and viewed the driver. His voice was filled with panic, "Driver, step on it fast!"
