Parallel Hearts chapter 10
Three days passed by rather quickly, after receiving words from Diggy that 'he' will be late (no surprise), Mega had proper training and relaxation time.
Ever since the promise the three girls made, they tried their best to flirt or scheme a plan for Mega's affection, of course they didn't work because of interruption in their plans from either other pokemon in their way, or Mega's denseness. But he does seem distant lately, as though he's working on something in his room.
"Finally made some training braces," Mega shouts happily, it took him those very days to make the very item: it's made of pure stone and he in scripted 'Mega' on each one. "I can't believe I had to use rocks to make this... these weren't easy to make," he looks down at the floor and sees that the pile of rocks he used to make them... smashed to pieces.
"So that's what you were making!"
Jumping in surprise, he turns around to see Rose laughing to herself again because of the scare she made him go through, "I always get you with that."
Mega lets his frustration get the better of him, "why do you always do that?"
"Because it's funny to see you just jump up like a buneary," Rose answers the question without a second thought, "it's like as though you were growing up with a buneary," she then notices that he's looking down when she was saying this and sees... sadness in his eyes?
Mega quickly notices her looking at him and forces a smile, "yeah... weird how the world works sometimes." With that, he walks downstairs to put on the training braces, "they don't feel comfortable at all," he complains and feels how heavy they are.
For a moment, the weight almost made him fall down the stairs, "whoa... better get used to these," and lifts his arms to weigh how much they are. They are REALLY heavy and he needs them for training, "this will be the perfect training exercise for me," and continues walking down the stairs with his arms weighing him down.
Rose was staring at the spot Mega was before he left, the sadness in his eyes when she commented about him growing up with a buneary. She grew up with a pichu... could it all be a coincidence... or is there a connection between the two...? She can only get these answers from him, but she knows he'll never answer them because it'll bring back horrible memories of 'that' day.
"The only way my questions will ever be answered is when 'he' arrives," she says to herself, if the pokemon is who she thinks 'he' is... she will know for a fact that Mega is her missing childhood friend. Satisfied with her conclusions, she goes downstairs as well.
Knolla was running out of ideas of how to get Mega's affection, she tried doing the book idea again... only to get a Metronome drawback. She tried to regularly flirt with him, but he doesn't know what she was doing, lastly, and possibly the worst one... she challenged him directly for a battle. She could remember what an idiot she was and thinks back to it...
It was a warm and sunny day; everything was a poke-paradise of that day. Mega was sun-bathing at that time, "Mega, I challenge you to a battle!"
He hears a sudden outburst from above him. He sits up to see who the challenger is, which turns out to be the togetic he's living with, "Knolla... are you sure about this?" He asks her, only to receive a nod from her.
"And I want to wager something," she shouts, Mega wasn't into those kind of matches and lays back down to relax under the sun.
This frustrates her, "if you win: I'll leave that book alone for good," she continues, snapping him from relaxing and standing up, "if I win..." she hesitates and looks away, "I get to have you... f-forever," she looks back at him... he looked confused at first, but nods to the wagers. "Let's find a better place to fight," she says and goes look for another place to fight.
It took a while, but she found the perfect place: the ground was soft and moist to keep the impact to not hurt as much, the sun was at its shiniest form to blind him while she's in the air, with the boulders are big enough to hide and recover from damages she may take.
She looks back to see if the pikachu is behind her, he is, but eating a sitrus berry as though it's casual, "must you always eat before you fight?" She asks him, only to receive a shrug, "anyways... ready," she takes an unusual stance and sees Mega ready to fight with the berry in hand, "GO!"
Knolla charges at Mega with glowing hands, "Metronome," and points them at him, suddenly Knolla charges, head fist, "Skull Bash!"
Mega immediate response is simply step aside, causing her to hit a rock from behind him instead. At first, Knolla was okay, "that was a good move, Mega." But she starts to bleed a fountain from her forehead and pass out due to blood loss.
She wakes up to be in her room, she doesn't know how she got in here, but there was an excruciating pain coming from her head as she finds a piece of paper next to her.
'Dear Knolla, it was brave of you to challenge me to a battle, but I think you rely too much on Metronome... learn some new moves and challenge me another time

Knolla's only responds to the letter is to develop tears from her eyes as she sobs away the pain from both her heart and headache.
Now in the present, Knolla cries a bit from the awful memory and think about what Mega said, "he's right... I need to learn some new moves," with that, she flies down to the living room, to get to the library, "I think there's battle tactic books in there," she said to herself to remember where she found that book.
Beauty was bored out of her mind, she wishes she could take a walk with Mega, but the guy is training, "maybe Rose will walk with me," Beauty says and goes to Rose's room.
Rose was busy looking at the ceiling, "what should I do today?"
She hears a knock outside her door and looks to see who is it, turning out to be Beauty, "hey Rose, wanna walk with me?" She asks, hoping to have some company for once, Rose just simply nods with a smile. They go downstairs, through the living room, and through the front door to enjoy their walk together.
"It's been a while since we've done this, huh?" Beauty joyfully says as she feels the moisture of the ground beneath her.
"Yeah... when was the last time we took a walk together?" The eevee thinks about it and remembers when exactly, "it was the day before Meggy came into our lives," that's actually correct, they hardly spend any time together ever since Mega came into their lives.
It was nice having him around, but he's all they ever think about. Mega is a fun, sweet pokemon and he's an excellent fighter as well, he even got punched to a pulp and still wins a battle for Rose's sake, it's just too bad that he'll eventually disappear from their lives to fulfill his dreams.
Mega was smashing boulders again, but it's getting harder to smash them with the braces on, "I have to get stronger," the pikachu says as he charges up another large amount of electricity onto his fist, "Thunder Punch!" Mega manages to smash half of a boulder three times the size of him.
"I'm getting stronger, but not at a fast enough pace... what's wrong with you, Mega?" He cursed himself for being such a wuss right now, "show me some of that fighting spirit! Thunder Punch!" He charges electricity into his other fist once more and slams it into a much larger rock; this one breaks apart from the amount of power Mega was giving out this time.
"Finally... now I'm making DECENT training progress," he looks back at the half-broken boulder he smashed, "Quick Attack," and charges at it with great speed and agility.
"How do you think Meggy's doing in his training?" Beauty asks when they reach the lake and decides to just relax under the sun.
"I'm thinking he'll eventually collapse from the extra weight he put on his arms," the bunny girl says laying on her front, enjoying the heat ray of the sun down her back. "What do you mean?" The eevee asks turning around onto her back.
"He put weight braces on his arms to help him with his training, heavy ones too," Rose answers, "when I saw him holding them... he could barely even hold them at all."
Beauty worries about the situation, "what if a predator gets to him?" She asks Rose, "its true more predator pokemon have been coming to the southern part lately, but Mega can take care of himself."
"Yeah, like you said earlier he'll be exhausted from the training he's doing and then be attacked by predators." This snaps Rose from her relaxation and stands up, "you're right, we should check up on him."
"AAAAAGH! VOLT TACKLE!" Mega charges at another boulder, surrounding himself with electricity. He doesn't stop from one boulder, he charges to another, then another, and another... he manages to destroy four boulders without stopping before reaching his limitation and face plants onto a nearby rock, "can't... stop... now," he tries to get back up, but couldn't get his arms to move due to the extra weight. "I'll just take a quick nap... then... continue," he says and closes his eyes to rest.
"Well, well, well, look what we have here," he opens his eyes swiftly and looks at the pokemon in his sight... a arcanine, "it's been a long time since I last saw you... Mega."
Mega remembers this arcanine... this is one of the arcanine family he beaten up on the first day he was in the Northern part of Pokeball Forest, and his instincts tells him it's the son. But now it seems he evolved since the last time he saw him.
"I can finally get what I always wanted: to eat you," the arcanine smiles deviously, "chow time!" He shows his fangs and was about to bite the vulnerable pikachu in the neck for the kill.
"Shadow Ball!" A dark aura ball appears what seems to be out of nowhere crashes into the aracnine's face, causing an explosion and Mega to roll away from him a few feet, but still facing the arcanine. This surprises both of them, until eventually some familiar feet came into his view, two belonging to a buneary, and four belonging to an eevee.
"I'm glad you're safe," Rose's face came into Mega's view, as well as Beauty's, "I told you so," Beauty remarks Rose. "Now's not the time for mocking," Rose says and gets in front of the arcanine, "if you want our friend... you have to go through us first!"
She turns back to Beauty, "stay there with Mega," she orders, recieving a nod in agreement from her.
"Careful, he's very strong," Mega warned, "don't worry, I promise to protect you... no matter what," she says, facing the arcanine.
Mega could feel his heart skip a beat from those words that Rose just said... those were the exact words he said once.
She begins to bounce around and charges straight at him, "Dizzy Punch," she uncurled one of her ears to punch him with them.
"Flamethrower," fire bursts from his mouth and aims at the buneary. It hits, causing her cancels out her attack. After the flaming experience was over, she tries to shakes off the pain, "Hidden Power," energy balls begins to form around her then goes straight at him.
The arcanine sees at the incoming attack with a yawn in boredom, he jumps to the left side to easily dodge, then charge at her with tremendous speed, "Extremespeed," and tackles her.
The impact made Rose wince in pain as the fire-type pokemon escapes from her sight, but when the arcanine was about to tackle her again.
"Dizzy Punch!" Rose slams her ear onto his head, the impact causes the arcanine to spin around in confusion. Rose takes this opportunity to hit him again, "Pound," her paw glows with power and she hits the arcanine once more on the head.
"You're starting to annoy me," the arcanine says to the three bunearies in front of him and shakes his head to wipe out the confusion, "Extremespeed," he once again charges at her with tremendous speed.
"Quick Attack," she charges at him with half the speed. They made an impact with one another, however arcanine's speed and power has proven to be much more tremendous than Rose's and runs over her, causing her to fly in the air.
Mega couldn't do anything about the situation, he tries to get up from the ground, but his body feels too heavy from all the training he did and the training braces aren't helping with that either.
"Meggy... have faith in Rose," was all the Beauty says to him.
"How can you just watch and not help your best friend out?" Mega yells at her, "because I know she can win," she answers, "no matter how hard a battle is, Rose never gives up, and she always has faith," she looks at him in the eyes, "do you have faith in her?"
That was a good question, does he believe she'll win? All he can do is watch the match with hope for Rose's victory.
Mega is watching this battle, and she wants to show how strong she truly is, like a fresh rose blooming in the morning sun. She's still in mid-air and is about to land on a rock, "Pound," once again, her paw glows with power and hits the rock to redirect her fall towards arcanine, "Hidden Power," she surrounds herself with energy once more and launches them right at him.
"Substitute," another arcanine starts to morph from him and takes the blast for him. Geeze, Mega warned her that he's strong, but she didn't expect him to be this strong. She's going to need alot more fire power if she's going to win this battle.
