Chapter 10
Last Chance
As Sam and the others were driving in Bumblebee while the Twins followed past the checkpoint. (A/N: Yeah sorry I had to skip it). Sam and Simmons tried to figure out what Jetfire's message with Simmons in the driver's seat and Sam in the passenger seat. While Mikeala and even Leo tried to snap Audrey out of her state. Her eyes were open and glowing but she was unresponsive. They were lucky they had sunglasses for her at the checkpoint.
"So, when dawn aligns the daggers tip the three kings reveal the doorway," Sam and Simmons repeated.
"So, what does it mean?" Sam asked as looked at Simmons.
Simmons shrugged. "I don't know," he said. He then turned to Leo and Mikeala. "Any luck with Sparky?" he asked. Sam turned around as well.
Mikeala gave a quick glare and then turned back to Audrey. "Audrey's," she said Audrey's name specifically. "Still out of it."
Leo thought. "Have you tried this?" he brought his fingers to her eyes and snapped his fingers. Audrey jumped and her eyes stopped glowing and started looking around dazed and confused causing Sam to look to her with slight relief.
Mikeala looked confused and half impressed at Leo. "Wow, that was actually helpful," he said.
Leo smiled and nodded but quickly changed realizing what she had said and looked annoyed. Audrey looked weaker than before. "Are you okay?" Sam asked ignoring Leo's annoyed look. Audrey nodded. "You're a bad liar," said Sam smoothly.
Audrey rolled her eyes. She knew she really didn't have the power to be a good lair. "I am not and I'm fine," she said. Her energy was nearly done and it was getting harder and harder to hide it.
Mikeala glared at Audrey. "No, you are not fine," before Audrey could respond. Mikeala turned to Sam. "We need to take her to the hospital."
Leo looked at her as if she was crazy. "No, we are wanted fugitives. We keep driving. I can't do prison."
Wheelie popped. "I'm with the warrior Goddess."
Sam pushed Wheelie back down. "You have no say, now stay down."
Mikeala glared at Sam. "Saying something," she said with force.
Sam looked as lost, confused, annoyed, and angry as everyone was in Bee had opposite opinions. He ran his head through his hair. "I don't know," Sam finally said.
"Look kid," Simmons started. "We can't stop.
Mikeala glared at Simmons. "You're not in charge."
Leo looked confused. "Who is charge?" They all just glared at him as Leo held his hands up in surrender. "Well, who is?"
Mikeala glared, officially annoyed. "Shut up or you're walking!"
Leo glared at her. "Hey, you're the one who should be walking!" Leo countered. "All you got is a little Decepticon hot wheel!"
Wheelie popped up. "Hey watch is Spitz head!" he said.
Sam quickly pushed Wheelie back down, much to Wheelie's dislike. "You, stay quiet," he said to Wheelie. "And you," he continued as he pointed to Leo. "That's my girlfriend!"
"And who was Alice again?" Leo asked.
And that started it all, everyone started arguing except Audrey, who was already starting to have another headache and continued to hold her head. It was getting worse and worse at this rate she might not make it before they even find the Matrix. "Bee, stop," she said, but Bumblebee didn't stop and the arguing continued. Her eyes started to glow out of rage and stress. "Bee, stop!" she yelled louder. Nothing happened. Her eyes were in full glow. "STOP!" she yelled and placed her hand out and shot a blast. Sam and Simmons quickly moved out of the way but the blast the steering wheel. Bumblebee started to do rough turns as everybody screamed in shock till he finally skid to a stop causing Mudflap and Skids to stop too. Audrey stopped her hands glowing and quickly crawled over Mikeala and quickly opened the door as she quickly got out and ran out. Audrey was a good distance away from the Bumblebee and the others. She grabbed her head again as she closed her eyes. She felt as if her head was going to explode. She fell to her knees as she heard little voices whisper in her head. The deeper into the desert the more her head hurt, the more visions she had, and the more she was closer to being like Optimus.
She suddenly felt her hand on her shoulder. She quickly turned and had one hand on her head and the other out in front of her slightly glowing. Sam jumped a little away from her. Audrey saw and sighed she lowered the hand and turned off the glow.
Sam glared at her the most worried and upset she has seen. Audrey was about to talk but Sam cut her off. "You are not fine," he started "Okay, you blacked out more than once and nearly shot at us!"
Audrey looked at him for a minute and the held up her fingers like she was pinching something. "Keyword nearly," she said.
Sam groaned in annoyance. "What is wrong with you?!"
Audrey slowly stood up final letting go of her head. "I'm some reincarnation and we are in the desert looking for something we don't know that will even work!" she yelled. "Oh, to add I might be a major part of the thing that will blow up the sun!" Sam glared at her as Audrey sighed. "Alright, yell at me. Just quietly," she said half-jokingly.
"Do you think it's out there?" he asked her. Audrey was stunned but sighed. "Really?" he asked.
Audrey shrugged. "I'm following you."
"What about you?"
Audrey glared at him. "Sam," she said calmly. "Repeat that again. You want a 14-year-old girl to lead adults into the battle to save Optimus and save the sun." Sam was about to say something. "And if you tell me because I am the Allspark Guardian I will actually shock you."
Sam shock his head. "No, no, no, that's not it," he said. Sam rubbed the back of his head. "I mean do you trust me?"
Audrey gave a raised eyebrow. "Of course, you're the leader."
Sam was about to talk but Audrey waved it off as she walked back to Bumblebee. "Sorry, about that Bee."
"Your days are numbered," the radio said. Audrey ignored it as a joke and got back in crawling over Mikeala and sitting next to a less than calm Leo.
Soon Sam go back in the car. "Let's go," he said. Without another word, they all started moving again.
They soon made it the temples near one of the pyramids. As the Autobots were looking around, Sam ran to the old temple door and opened it as the others followed. Sam stopped Audrey. "You stay with Bee and the others," Sam said. Before Audrey could argue but Sam glared her. "Stay with Bee." Audrey glared but went back to Bumblebee as he, Mudflap, and Skids transformed back into cars. "Guard us. Low profile. Don't scene, okay?" she heard Sam say before she closed the door. Then they started driving off.
Audrey sighed as she leaned back in the seat. If Sam didn't know now, he was spurious, now. She didn't how know much longer she could hide it, both physically and verbally.
Adio ran as fast as he could through the desert. Suddenly the ground shook causing him to fall to the ground. He could tell that he was very close to the two. He quickly got up and started running again. As he got closer, sand started to blind him. He started to hear and see few of his men scatter. He hid himself behind the rock, where Anpu was.
"They were fighting!" Anpu yelled. "It just happened and ravaged the land." Before Adio could respond, the ground shook again and sand filled the air. His men still scattered and screamed. "What do we do?"
Adio closed his eyes and a rod like thing almost electric appeared in his hand. Anpu's eyes widened at the site. When Adio looked at Anpu, nearly causing him to jump. "Move them out. No one is to be here."
"What are you going to do?" Anpu asked.
"Move them, now!"
Anpu nodded and quickly stood up. "Move away! Fall back!" Anpu started to retreat along with the other men.
Adio soon started to run towards the battle in front of him as the dust cleared. The Fallen was battered but not too much. Vector on the other hand, was more battered holding his arm in pain. "Hand, it over," The Fallen growled at his brother. "And your death will be swift."
Vector breathed heavily. "I said it before, you kill have to kill me."
The Fallen adjusted his spear in fighting position. "So be it."
Adio's eyes quickly glowed as he then quickly through his rob at the Fallen. It hit him in the shoulder. Fallen screamed in pain as he held his arm. Vector looked shocked as Fallen glared at Adio. "I see," he growled in pain with a hint of excitement. "You have finally merged with the Matrix."
Adio didn't answer as he let his eyes glow. "You will no longer kill my people or my brothers!" he yelled. "I warn you! Leave my home!"
The Fallen growled. "You will be mine or you will die with the rest. "Without warning, the Fallen threw his spear. Adio quickly jumped out of the way as the spear plunged into the ground. Vector took this moment and tackled his brother to the ground.
Adio quickly recovered himself off the ground as he stood up, Vector was thrown where the spear landed with the Fallen a good distance off. Vector adjusted his head to the side. "You… you… listened to me," he said a bit weakly.
"I listened to Prima and you," Adio corrected.
Vector struggled to get up. "At the moment, I wish you hadn't. He will use or kill you when he comes."
Adio stood in front of the struggling Vector. "If hadn't at this moment, you would be dead. Stay behind me."
Before Vector could respond, The Fallen, as if out of nowhere, stood in front of them. "Foolish, human." Before could grab him. Adio quickly held out his hand and sent a blast from it. Sending the Fallen back a good distance. Adio didn't let up. "Vector, make sure my people are safe."
"But—"
"Go! You cannot fight now! Watch my people go!"
Vector hesitated but ran off as best as he could. Adio started to walk closer. He could feel his own human strength leave him. He could tell as the Fallen was more resistant to the blast. Adio legs then gave way. Adio panted as he heard the weakened footsteps. He then heard a menacing laugh, Adio didn't bother to look up. "Pathetic." Before he could say a word, Adio was back-handed and flew a good distance against away. Adio landed roughly against the ground. Everything he hurt. He didn't bother to look up. "You are but weak flesh, can't even the simple power it gave you. Even combined with the Matrix."
Adio lifted his head a little. "I am a… warrior stronger than you."
The Fallen scoffed. "I will see how long you last?"
The Fallen reached to grab him but suddenly a spear was stabbed through between his shoulder and his arm. He roared in pain as the fallen was forced to the ground by Vector.
Adio struggled to get up as Vector pressed the spear deeper into the Fallen's arm. "I… I said… watch my… people."
"If I hadn't at this moment, you would be dead," Vector countered.
Adio scoffed and groaned as he stood. The fallen looked to weak to get from under the spear. "You… betray… your own kind," The Fallen muttered.
"This is your fault, not mine," Vector said. "It is over."
The Fallen growled. "No, it is not." He was suddenly surrounded by a flashing light that blinded two causing them to fall back. When the two looked up, the Fallen was gone.
Adio groaned holding his side. "Where did he go?"
Vector frowned. "He opened a spacebridge off your world."
Adio looked up at Vector. "Is it… is it over?"
Vector looked down. "For your home, it is. But for mine, I fear the worst."
Audrey snapped open her eyes and gasped for air. She looked around and was still inside Bumblebee in car mode. Her head and her stomach started to hurt. Audrey grabbed the side of her head. It was worse… she felt worse. I was never going to get better till she… She then started to quietly cry. Suddenly heard the car's whirs and heard the radio come to life. "How are you feelin' little lady?"
Audrey quickly tried to wipe her tears. "I'm…I'm sorry I woke you, Bee," she apologized. "I just had a nightmare."
"You are a horrible lair," the radio echoed.
Audrey scoffed as she was about to get out but the door refused to open. Audrey groaned. "Bee, open the door."
"No way, Jose," the radio responded.
Audrey rubbed her head. "Bee, let me out. I need to get out."
"No one's leavin' till I get answers."
Audrey sighed exasperated. "Bee, let me out. If I tell you, I have to see your face."
"No trick?"
"I promise, please let me out." Audrey tried the door again. It opened and she quickly got out. Bumblebee slowly transformed kneeling on one looked straight at him. She had to at least tell one person- Autobot-well someone. "Bee, you have to promise. You can't tell Sam or anyone. I don't care what happens."
Bee hesitated but nodded. Audrey sighed. "Okay," she started. "When you left to take Sam back to college, Optimus and I had a talk. Long story short, I still couldn't-can't full except being the Allspark Guardian or being the Allspark now. So, it sent some of its power to Optimus. 'Connecting our fates,' Optimus called it."
"And what that mean for you?" Bee finally asked through his radio.
Audrey started to whimper just thinking about it again. "I'm-I'm dying. I'm going end like Optimus." Bumblebee didn't say a word but his eyes were mixed confusion, sadness, and shock. "And…" Audrey continued as tears started to fall. "I'm scared. I'm terrified, Bee. I don't want to be." The tears fell faster. "Sometimes I want be an adult with control, without a temper, not afraid to risk everything! But I am not! I'm 14-year-old with a ridiculous amount of power with little control, a temper, and terrified to risk so many things!" Audrey buried her face in her hands and cried. "I'm-I'm not strong enough. And this our last chance and mine." She suddenly felt a rough metal poke. Audrey slowly lifted her face from her hands. Bee had his hand out. Audrey slowly climbed on it, he lifted his hand close to his chest and let Audrey lean against him, still crying. "Do you…" Audrey whimper but it was a bit calmer now. "Do you think… we'll make it?"
He was silent for moment then his radio clip started going again. "Don't where all ends just gotta have faith."
Audrey sighed a bit exasperated. "I was… I was afraid you say that," she admitted. "But I'm half glad you did." Bumblebee just whirs happily causing Audrey to give a faint smile.
Two stayed like for that awhile till Sam started shouting. "Audrey! Audrey! Come here! Audrey!"
Bee looked down at Audrey as she nodded causing Bee to lower his hand and put it down. Audrey slowly got off and ran, as best as she could, into the building and up the stairs. There she found Sam and Mikeala standing in front of a sitting Leo and Simmons. "What's going on?" Audrey asked.
Sam quickly looked to Audrey. "Astronomy? Do you know any?"
Audrey raised her eyebrow. "What?"
"Answer the question!"
"I get a C," she answered.
"Okay. Everyone outside, right now," Sam said as he gestured everyone out.
Everyone quickly followed him outside, to where they could see the sun just about come up. Sam then points to the three stars by the pyramid. "You see those three stars? See how the last one touches the horizon. That's Orion's Belt. It's also called the Three Kings. The reason for that is cause the three Egyptian kings, who built the Giza built them to mirror those stars. It's like an arrow staring us straight in the face."
As the others looked amazed, Simmons started calculating it in his head. "They point due east towards Jordon. The Mountains of Petra."
"Our last chance," Audrey couldn't help think, feeling weak in the knees.
