It has been six months since Anzu left the house and Atem still felt guilty about how they ended things.

He was aware that the brunette was getting married to Duke tomorrow and didn't want her to wed someone that wasn't right for her.

What was he to do? Anzu was avoiding him. After a while he gave up since she didn't want to hear what he wanted to say.

As the grandfather clock chimed signaling the start of a new day Atem looked over at his beautiful wife. She was lying on the bed, completely nude.

"Hey sweetie." Mana smiled.

"Hello, my love." Atem smiled back. "Can you believe it's been one year since we met, fall in love and got married already?"

"Yes, I can. All of those days have been filled with nothing but happiness." Mana answered, shifting to hover over her husband's hard manhood.

Going down, Mana didn't stop till every inch of Atem's manhood was inside of her.

Atem placed his hands onto Mana's hips before saying. "Happy anniversary, my love."

"Happy anniversary, Atem." Mana replied before they made love.

The Next Afternoon

Atem got dressed before heading out for a walk to clear his head. He got himself into a bad situation. He got married to Mana after knowing her for a few hours and let Anzu fall into the arms of another guy.

Atem loved Mana without doubt but his feelings for Anzu was different.

"I had her and…" He became lost for words. Atem walked for what seen like hours before reaching a restaurant where he spotted Joey, eating dinner.

Going inside he sat across from the blond and asked. "How was the wedding?"

"It didn't happen." Joey answered after taking another bite.

"What?" Atem looked confessed.

"Anzu cancelled the wedding last week. Maybe she got cold feet or something. I am glad though, Duke wasn't the right guy for her. He didn't love her the way she deserved to be loved."

"Joey." Atem smiled, thinking he might still have a chance with Anzu. "Thank you." Atem got up and ran out of the restaurant leaving Joey, puzzled.

"What did I do?" Joey asked himself.

Thinking for a few seconds Atem ran to where he thought Anzu might be.

Anzu sat on a bench overlooking a lake. One of her favourite places was the park; it was one of the only places where she felt like she could be alone.

"Atem was right. I doubted myself." Looking at her watch, Anzu saw that it was a half past seven. She got off the bench and was about to walk away if someone hadn't hugged her from behind.

'That scent?' Anzu thought. 'It couldn't be, Atem?'

"Anzu, I am sorry for acting that way towards you." Atem said as he took in her scent.

Anzu pulled herself from his hold and asked, bitterly, "How did you find me?"

"I know this is one of your favourite places in the city and took a chance." He replied. "Please Anzu, forgive me." Atem moved slowly towards her for another hug only to be punched.

"I hate you. How do you expect me to forgive you after what you did?" Anzu yelled as tears formed. "I have loved you for so many years and you never once felt the same way about me. When I finally found a guy that might have cared deeply for me, you bullied me into thinking that he only wanted to marry me in order to have sex with me!"

"Anzu, I am sorry for that but please listen when I say that I love you. Well loved..."

"No you don't! You wouldn't have married Mana!"

"I am sorry! I didn't want to take a chance and lose you as my friend. If you and I were in a romantic relationship and it didn't work out we wouldn't be friends anymore." Atem raised his voice.

"Supposed it did work out! Even if it didn't I would still want to be around you because you are my best friend." Tears poured heavily from Anzu's eyes.

"But…"

"No buts, I hate you so much, Atem. You broke my heart and I never want to see you again!"

"Anzu, I love you and I know a million apologies can't make up for what I did but please forgive me. The past couple months were like hell without you." Atem said sincerely.

"Atem…" She whispered as he came closer to her.

Standing face to face, Atem kneeled in front of her and said."If I have to go on my knees and beg for your forgiveness I well." Atem looked up into her eyes. "Please….."

Anzu punched him on his left cheek causing him to fall down. Anzu began walking away before stopping. She looked back and saw Atem trying to get up. No matter how many times she said she hated him, or punch him, she still loved him.

Walking over to him Anzu helped him up and they sat on the bench.

"Why are you here?" She asked.

"To apologise."

"And you waited till the day I was supposed to get married to tell me? What were you thinking?"

"I wasn't thinking and…"

"And what? Expect no guy to want to go out with me?"

"Hmm..." Atem hesitated.

"I knew it! You are such a jackass. I was in front of you, all this time and instead of telling me your feelings you go out different girls and expect me to be alone, forever. I know I am not the prettiest girl out there. Ever since high school, when I watched you go out on dates I was tried to tell myself that you didn't care and move on but no guy wanted me. Now one guy I thought loved me came around and I thought this would make me forget about my insecurities and feelings for you."

"While we are on that topic," Atem said nervously. "The reason no guy asked you out in high school was because I had told them to stay away from you or else I would beat them up."

"Oh my God! I can't believe this, you are so selfish. I thought you cared about me enough to be happy." Anzu yelled.

"I do but I want you to be happy with me. You are a beautiful girl, Anzu and so many guys wanted to be with you even in college."

"Is there anything else you would want to tell me?" Anzu stood up and started to roll up her sleeves.

"Apart from I am a selfish, jackass that don't deserve your friendship, that's it."

Anzu curled her fingers into a fist. Atem closed his eyes; he knew he dissevered this for ruining her life.

Instead of a punch, Atem felt Anzu's soft hand rubbing his cheek. He opened his eyes to see her clam.

"So does this mean you forgive me?"

"No it doesn't. It only means that no matter how much I try to hate you I can't. I don't know how long it is going to take me to forgive you but we will see how this goes."

"I promise you Anzu, I will never hurt you again." Atem said as he moved closer to hug her. This time Anzu did not stop him and embraced the hug.

"I do care about you Anzu. We may not end up together but I would always want to be your friend." Atem said.

Anzu asked. "What is the status between you and Mana?"

Atem admitted. "We are still married."

Anzu was pissed. "Atem, I can't just be your friend. The feelings that I have for you are strong and I can't stand by and just be your friend anymore. As selfish as it seems I would prefer if we were friends, we were friends and something."

"I am sorry that you feel that way Anzu." Atem stated.

"I am sorry too, Atem. Good bye." Anzu said before walking away.
