Hey guys, hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Here's a quick recap of Chapter Eight: After getting a visit from a penguin who seems to know all about the EPF but is not an agent, Rebecca quickly develops a plan to stop Herbert and rescue the puffles.
Chapter Nine
Rebecca handed Cadence the PSA spy phone after revealing a very risky plan. Cadence glances at Rebecca hesitantly before talking to Gary who was on another spy phone.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Oh hello Cadence, It's me Gary. Listen usually you to go through this test to become an agent but..."
"I...I don't want to become an Elite Spy Force agent, Gary" interrupted Cadence, fiddling with her scarf, "just want to help save the puffles."
Gary paused a little confused about Cadence's outburst.
"I thought you told Rebecca that you'd accept the invitation to join," Gary responded.
Rebecca glanced at Cadence in shock, how could she do that to her? Accept to join and then really didn't want to be. Well there was no backing out anyway. Cadence knew to much already, she would have to join or she'd be in terrible danger.
"I accepted the invitation to help rescue the puffles...I don't want to be an agent," Cadence confirmed, nervously walking back and forth across the floor.
"Yes but you know to much about the agency already" Gary insisted, "You'd be in constant danger. Your life will never be the same again!"
Cadence thought for a moment before making a proposal.
"Gary is there anyway I can stay a civilian, stop Herbert and rescue the puffles...and somehow forget everything that happened?" Cadence asked, earnestly.
"Oh like a memory wipe" Gary exclaimed, "Well give me some time...hmmm a memory pill could do the trick."
Cadence watched as Rebecca formed a question with her beak.
"What's wrong about being a secret agent?" Rebecca wondered, "You get to help secure Club Penguin and..."
Gary was waiting for an answer from Cadence, so she choose to ignore Rebecca's question for a second.
"Are you sure that this is what you want?" Gary asked, sternly.
"Yes" Cadence replied, before ending the call.
Rebecca's beak hung wide open.
"Why?" she gasped.
DJ Cadence glanced around the room before seeing a banana, which she began to unpeal.
"Look becoming an EPF agent to protect and care for every penguin here would be a great honor, no really" Cadence said between bites, "But it's not what I want. I'm perfectly happy were I am. I'm the DJ at the Dance Club and I have lots of friends...I could never live a normal life, knowing that I was lying to them to keep them safe. It's just not me."
Rebecca looked at Cadence and quickly understood that the conversation was over.
"Okay so I'm just gonna review the plan again" Rebecca said, shaken "I will confront Herbert and the puffles and lip sync to your music."
"Oh and I'll be hiding somewhere so my identity isn't revealed to Herbert" Cadence added.
"Exaclty, You will be hiding and singing in a microphone. The music will come out of stereos around the area." Rebecca informed.
"Clever, but...What if something happened, like the mic broke or we lost connection?" DJ Cadence suggested.
Rebecca scratched her head.
"Good thinking...Umm...We have to come up with a Plan B." Rebecca answered.
The two penguins excitedly talked over the plans in the coffee shop. Not the safest place to talk about attacks but it seemed all right at the time. However, just outside the shop, the two penguins could have sworn they heard a Click, Clickety, Click.
Oh no! Click, CLickety Click! That sounds just like...KLUTZY! What's he doing in town! Has he cleverly overheard the penguins' plans? What happened to Agent Ace after he foolishly ventured into the tunnel that a puffle had made? What is going to happen next?
