Pepper's mind was on override. Every sense was overboard and picked up even the smallest of creaks from her shoes. The adrenaline tore threw her body, giving her the extra strength she needed to keep moving.

She felt that it was wrong to leave the confines of her safe room. If Janice came to her Pepper could easily take her out in her room. But then again, it would probably backfire knowing that Janice has all her automatons swarming through the building.

"Yeah! I know…" Someone said. Pepper gasped and dove behind a large pot. Her dark cloths helped her blend in with the dark green plant and pot. She strained her ears to hear what those men or machines were saying.

"You see? Janice is just a NUT! Her daughter comes back and she doesn't do anything but sit around on her computer all day hunting that Stark kid." A man said. Pepper frowned. Her mother was still after Tony.

"Yeah! I mean… her daughter is BACK! Instead of her it seems Janice finds more interest in that kid. I'm surprised he isn't dead!" It sounded like another man. Pepper waited as they walked past the pot she hid behind.

The adrenaline instantly kicked in as Pepper came out of her spot and stalked after the two men. Hopefully her fake SHIELD training won't fail her now.

Pepper, silently, walked closer and swiped her leg out, throwing one man to the floor. He gasped as his oxygen flooded out of his lungs. He fell to the ground, unable to get up.

"What the-?" Pepper leaped forward and grabbed the man's outstretched wrist. As she turned, she turned the wrist as well, forcing the man to fall to his knees or risk having a broken hand. Pepper pushed harder, receiving a groan.

"Where's Janice?" She asked. The man's face began beading with sweat. He swallowed and looked at her, his eyes wide in fear.

"I won't tell you." He gasped out. Pepper pushed again on his wrist. The man cried out.

"How noble. If you don't tell me, you may have to deal with a broken wrist. And not to mention a nose and maybe a couple of ribs." Pepper threatened. She glanced back at the man she had knocked down earlier. He was still staring blankly up at the white ceiling.

"Okay! She's in the main control room! Down this hall, take the second left! There's a sign there too! Please! Please let me go!" The man shrieked. Pepper smiled and dropped his wrist. The man instantly began cradling it, slowly rocking his body back and forth.

Pepper began to walk away before thinking better of it. She did a roundhouse kick, catching the man's jaw and knocking him unconscious. For the man on the floor, she pulled up her arm and slammed it down on his nose. He fell unconscious as well. Unfortunately, his nose began to swell, indicating that he had broken it.

Pepper then dragged the two guys to the nearest room and dumped them in. She locked it from the inside, so when they woke up they could leave.

But, not quite. She made sure to pull the plant in front of the door, so that the door wouldn't be able to swing out.

Then, Pepper set off for her mother.

Tony cleaned up the rest of his face. His eyes and nose were red from crying. He hadn't meant to cry, but… Pepper. His mother and now his girlfriend, he was loosing everyone he ever cared about.

Tony had banged on the computer, screaming and hollering commands, telling it to find Pepper. The computer remained silent, not answering to its master's commands.

"Not fair. Not fair at all!" Tony said after slamming his hands down on the sink counter. The window shuddered from the energy.

Tony ran a hand through his dampened hair. He hadn't bothered finishing his shower. He dried himself off the best he could with the towel, and slipped on some spare clothes in his locker. After a quick flick of his brush, his hair gained the natural messy look he had grown used too.

"How can she be there for one second and disappear?" Tony went up to the computer again after wiping away the stray tears on his face. The computer looked dull as Tony activated it again.

"Computer, show me the last known location of Pepper." Tony said. He put his hands behind his back and pinched his palm hard. This had to work.

The computer began to run back and find the imaging that was stored in its files. It then pulled up a red dot from the building that Pepper was last found. Tony came forward and studied the building. It was a little covered up by the large beacon dot, but it was enough to get the generalized shape.

"It's a house." Tony said shocked. It looked like it was in a small neighborhood. A neighborhood that Tony knew very well where it was. "Oh my god." He said. "Oh my god! Computer! Quickly input the data into the Mark 2 armor!"

"Inputting data." The computer replied. Tony ran towards the storing box for his Mark 2 armor. He opened up the shoot, watching the door open. The armor stared ahead, waiting for its pilot. Tony pushed his way in and waited as the armor gathered around him.

He opened his eyes too see the familiar golden screen in front of him. He looked up and saw the chute open above him. Forcing the jet's he shot into the air and flew out of the chute.

Tony pulled up the screen of the neighborhood. It was so familiar because it was his house.

It was the house where his mother had died.

Pepper made her way across the hallways that the Janice employee had told her. Since she didn't do anything too serious, Pepper left the men with a couple of broken bones. Definitely nothing life threatening.

The hallways got darker as the corridors got closer to the heart of the house. Pepper could only assume this was a house. It was obvious that Janice had removed many of the furniture and walls to make room for twisting hallways and corridors.

Pepper's breath caught in her throat. There was nothing to say, and nothing to do. Her goal was set and getting out of the confines of the house was her biggest goal. And as of now, she could almost smell the goal as it neared her.

The hallway dropped to the coldest light possible. There was absolutely no light and Pepper had to stop in her tracks in order to readjust to the light. A small bright light at the end hummed to her, beckoning for someone to come closer.

"Janice…" Pepper huffed out. She ran forward, pouncing on her the balls of her feet in order to make the least amount of noise. She found the light was pouring from the bottom of the closed door. With on good kick, the door flew off the hinges and fell against the wall. Pepper was impressed with her own strength.

"Pepper… Nice to see you came to me." Janice said. She stood, a gun in her hand.

Tada! I felt that I had to update this! It was forever since I had updated it! I am thankful for all those helpful reviews that y'all post for me! Thank you so much!
