Chapter 10: Digital Stars

Authors' Note: Ai and Mako's counterparts were something I really enjoyed writing! So-I'm going to take it a step further with these guys. And it won't be Lindy who figures the solution out! Also, warning: Long chapter.

Edit Authors Note: ^Okay, buddy. Chapter seven was long. This isn't. And I really hope you didn't take it a step forward with that spelling...Jesus. Clean up more.

"Finally, were here!" cried Terriermon, as he saw the boundary for the southern digital world. The green and white dog digimon was exhausted. He and Lopmon had been the victim of Suzie's hugging and smothering. Henry reasoned with Terriermon it was so she could stay occupied. Without it, the little Tamer would ask questions such as 'are we there yet?' and just annoy the group.

While Terriermon was dealing with Suzie during the trip, Lindy and Impmon had to take care of the twins. When something new would appear, the twins would go opposites. Mako would hide behind Lindy, asking questions, Ai would charge it trying to poke it or play with it. Impmon would be dragging the curious child away from baby digimon, digital tumble weeds of data, and once saved from the chocolate haired girl from a data stream. Impmon explained to Ai that getting stuck in that pink stuff would land her on the opposite side of the digital world and so help him God if she got stuck there, Impmon would ground her himself. It was not a light threat. Impmon never grounded-that was Lindy's department.

The hybrid noticed a sudden change in Impmon's behaviour. Instead of the impish attitude, he was now more cautious and protective. He seemed almost scared of the world here. She noticed that he had not spoken much to her. Lindy thought as much. Since they argued in the Hypnos building, not much has exchanged between the two except for digital world warning rants from the purple Digimon. She had to go and keep 'Project Shield' a secret from him didn't she? Feeling guilty, she let Impmon do what he needed to do. He will come around...eventually. The dark blue Impmon held Mako's hand as they crossed a bridge in the vast canyon.

"Don't look down sweetie, okay?"

"Okay, Lindy." Mako held Lindy's hand tighter and clung to her like glue. Of course Ai was running across, being chased by Impmon.

"This is so much fun!"

"Ai, get back here!" called Impmon.

Surely, they were getting close right?

Takato and Guilmon were leaders of the group as they lead in front. While being the leader was not instinct, the brown haired Tamer knew that with all these kids they needed to stay guard and move quick. They stopped for camp several times as the sky turned into night instantly. That scared Mako and Suzie a little as they held on to their digimon. Takato noticed that Terriermon was getting exhausted keeping Suzie occupied, and Impmon was getting annoyed with Ai's curiosity. So, Takato asked Guilmon to check up on the children and offer Ai or Mako rides, playing with Suzie once in awhile. Being in the Digital World, Takato was actually surprised that he had not seen a violent digimon attack them yet. He asked Henry about this who frowned,

"Takato, if the digimon are not around here, where could they be? What could have driven them away to make this place almost empty?"

Takato pondered the idea. D-Reaper might be absorbing more digimon than he originally thought. Could the D-Reaper had done something to Jeri as well? The mere thought made Takato give ugly turns in his stomach. Losing Jeri might be one of the worst things to happen to him. The thirteen year old knew that Jeri was special to him-sure they were still kids but she was his girlfriend he had to protect her.

Henry wearily kept watch at night. He and Takato and the digimon took turns to make sure nothing would ambush them. The digital night sky was pretty to look at sometimes since it was so clear and you could see everything. From stars, to data streams, to the big Earth in the sky. It was only a few days they had been in the Digital World, but it felt longer. This was day two.

"I miss Jeri." Takato mumbled, putting his head down.

"You didn't expect the D-Reaper to come back from the grave and take her-no one could have thought of that happening. We'll get her back."

"I wonder how Rika and the others are doing back home."

"She and Renamon are strong. They'll lead the group. I'm more worried about us here. We don't exactly have the 'A-team'."

Takato agreed. Having the twins, Suzie, and an inexperienced hybrid was not favourable. It was dangerous for all four of them. Luckily, Impmon and Lopmon would protect them.

"Any ideas on how we're going to get back?" Takato asked, playing with some dirt. Henry made an annoyed sigh.

"I don't know Takato..."

The next day, they arrived at the southern digital world boarder. It was demolished. A once great wall with a village for digimon was destroyed. The D-Reaper had already unleashed it's wrath upon it, and there was nothing the group could do. Ai quietly asked Impmon if that's what will happen to Shinjuku. Impmon frowned.

"Yes, Ai. That may happen if we are not careful."

Lindy looked at Impmon and frowned,

"But we are not going to let that happen, Ai. You can count on us." Lindy hated when Impmon sounded so depressed. It was creating a discomfort in her heart, like a prick that would not go away. What had gotten into the digimon? He really needed to smarten up...

Henry looked around the village and came up with nothing. Terriermon asked him if he was alright as Henry groaned and held his head. The night watch was making him exhausted.

"I'm fine, Terriermon."

The small Digimon pouted and crossed his arms.

"You are not! You're going to fall asleep on me! Let Impmon or Lindy take watch tonight. I already gotta save you're butt when you're normal."

The small 'pep' talk made Henry feel even more exhausted. Being the reasonable one of the group had it's consequences he thought. Lindy offered to stay up for the night shift but Henry declined saying he and Terriermon were a little stronger-no offence. Lindy made an annoyed sound,

"I'm not weak, Henry. I can go ultimate."

"But you can't go mega, Lindy. Don't bite off more than you can chew." Henry scolded. Takato stepped in.

"No more bickering. Lindy can take the next night shift. Henry, you need rest."

The arguing turned into a private conversation between Takato and Henry. The two were whispering to each other closely, and the group stopped walking around to take a break. Impmon sat on some rubble looking around.

"Seesh, can't D-Reaper at least clean up after it's self?"

The purple Digimon expected to hear something from his female Tamer but no response. Impmon looked behind him. No Ai. He looked around him. No Ai. Where was she? The emerald green eyes scanned around and saw her at least a hundred metres out walking towards two small figures. It looked like a clone version of her and Mako...

"Son of a bitch!" He pounded the rubble with his fist, cursing in English.

Impmon called out to Lindy. The dark blue digimon saw what was going on in the distance.

DIGIVOULTION

"Lindy digivolve to...Ladydevimon!"

WARP DIGIVOULTION

"Impmon warp digivolve to...Beelzemon!"

"Mako, Suzie, tell the others we found them." Ladydevimon ordered. The two children nodded and ran off. The champion and mega started to make a beeline to Ai in the distance.

"Takato! The other versions of Ai and Mako are here!" Suzie ran over to warn the two older Tamers.

MATRIX DIGIVOULTION

"Lopmon matrix digivolve to..."

The brown bunny Digimon grew taller, with longer legs and arms-dangling limply. She gained a bigger torso with a white and red body suit and lavender pants. Her ears had grown in proportion to her new body and ruby red eyes were fixed on the Ai and Mako imposters.

" Antylamon!"

"Get ready cause this is gunna to be one heck of a battle!" Beelzemon cried, taking out his guns and started to shoot at the two. Ladydevimon unleashed her whip.

"Whip of Kindness!"

BIOMERGE DIGIVOULTION

"Guilmon Biomerge to..."

"Terriermon Biomerge to..."

"Gallantmon!"

"MegaGargomon!"

Three megas, and one ultimate, and the champion were charging towards the evil D-Reaper twins. It looked like the first battle in the digital world had officially begun.

Real Ai was curious as she made her way towards the evil twins. They looked just like her and Mako. All except their eyes-they were red and scary. Ai whimpered a little, but clenched her tiny fists.

"You guys are big meanies. You wait until my friends get here to kick you're butts." The brown eyes glared at red ones. Calm red eyes returned her stare. The twins both laughed together.

"Join us...become part of the winning team Ai. You will never have to share your toys anymore."

Evil Ai stepped forward reaching out a hand. Ai scoffed.

"Nice try, but I like sharing my toys!"

Evil Ai retracted her hand as if she was burned. With a hiss, the child's face twisted into hate.

"Fine, perish!"

It was then that Beelzemon shot towards the evil twins. He used his wings to shield himself and he scooped up Ai with one claw.

"Hey Beelzemon! Look I found-"

"Yeah, yeah you found the evil twins. When were done, I'm gunna have to talk to ya about wanderin' off. Now, stay back with Mako and Suzie!"

Beelzemon dropped her off with Suzie and Mako who stayed behind the digimon in battle. He felt bad being harsh, but Ai was going to get herself hurt! She needed to learn caution or else. Mako pulled out the purple D-Arc and found 'No Data' on the twins. Stupid thing he thought. The young boy looked to Suzie who was slightly older.

"Will they be alright?"

Suzie smiled. "Don't be silly! My big brother can beat anyone! Nothing bad will get us, Mako." Mako felt assured slightly after Suzie's reply. Beelzemon and Ladydevimon were pretty tough too. Seeing Lindy in that form gave him a little bit of fear since she changed so much, but she protected them. Beelzemon was never going to let anything happen since they were partners.

The D-Reaper twins were quick. When Antylamon tried to use her 'Bunny Blades', she missed completely. D-Ai smacked the giant bunny back and jumped up to avoid Beelzemon's bullets. The two D-Twins were not keen on being hit by a mega. D-Mako was launched back by Ladydevimon's 'Dark Wind' attack who flew up to catch the evil Mako. Just as the devil digimon was about to grip him, D-Ai lunged and threw the champion off track. Gallantmon almost gave Ladydevimon a scare when one of his attacks grazed her tail. It stung badly.

"Careful, Gallantmon!" Ladydevimon frowned. She had to keep in mind that all five of them were fighting two of those things. It was going to be impossible without a little friendly fire.

D-Ai made a move towards Ai, Mako and Suzie but MegaGargomon shot a rocket between them.

"Not so fast." The green mega growled. No way was those things going to get hold of the twins and his sister! Grabbing D-Ai's leg, he launched her into the air. The group got the idea as they combined their attacks towards D-Ai. However, the little girl teleported out of sight!

"Shit! Where did she go?" Gallantmon cried but was greeted by D-Mako's kick that sent him flying into the wrecked village. The knight digimon was going to need a few moments to recover. D-Mako took a hit from Ladydevimon and returned with a flying kick into the ground. The hybrid grunted and was pelted down more by a suddenly appearing D-Ai. It looked painful to watch it. Beelzemon, Ai and Mako all let out a gasp.

"Ladydevimon! Stupid, D-Reaper-Corona Blaster!" A shot was greeted to D-Mako and it blew him away. D-Ai looked at Beelzemon and attacked him.

"Ladydevimon! Ladydevimon!" Ai and Mako started to run to the fallen champion, but Antylamon was already on it. As she went to help, a silver glow erupted from Ladydevimon and her necklace glowed.

CREST DIGIVOULTION

"Ladydevimon crest digivolve to...Hopemon!"

Ai and Mako let out a breath of relief. Then, the twins took in the angel child digimon. She was beautiful with her wings!

"She really is an angel!" Suzie cried. Ai and Mako nodded.

"Yeah, she can teleport too!"

"Woah..."

"Thanks," The angel ultimate smiled and let out a child like laugh. In this form she had a slightly different personality. More uplifting, but more deadly if provoked. It was PMS season all over again and this time she could do some serious damage. Hopemon giggled as D-Ai and D-Mako charged at her. She teleported behind them in a flicker of data.

"Staff of Fate!" she cried, blasting one. It was evil Mako's turn to giggle.

"Missed." He called out and started to fly suddenly with out any wings. Hopemon gasped as she was punched down. She started to fly difficult patterns as evil D-Mako and D-Ai started to follow.

"Beelzemon! Start shooting!" Hopemon called to the biker digimon. He took out his guns and stated to the shoot the two, but they dodged it gracefully.

"Shield of the Just!" called out Gallantmon, as he held up his shield and blasted an energy beam towards D-Ai. She was hit! Suzie smiled and cried,

"Yes! She's down!"

"Henry, something's weird. This can't be it." Terriermon spoke within MegaGargomon.

"They have something up their sleeve." Henry agreed and kept their guard up. He stayed back slightly in case the D-Twins were going for the children again. He was only going to hit the others and confuse them if he joined in the battle. However, the biomerged mega did not notice D-Ai transport herself by Suzie.

The young pink haired Tamer met red eyes and found that D-Ai was in front of her.

Suddenly, Suzie was in her bedroom. What happened? Was she not in the digital world? D-Ai seemed to be forgotten as the seven year old was in her bed. It was a princess bed with pink and white sheets with a decorated pillow set. Toys were scattered around the room, and colorful drawings were pinned on the wall by the door that the pink haired girl made as art projects. This was her room for sure-no doubt.

A creak disturbed her from looking around. Suzie twisted her head to her left where the noise came from. Red eyes glowed from the closet. A pair of dark claw like hands started to sprout from under her small bed and enclose around the poor little girl. Suzie started to scream,

"HENRY! LOPMON!"

This was a nightmare. Dark monsters were one of her worst fears and her heroic brother was nowhere to be found. What could she do? Suzie was lost, whimpering in her bed.

Meanwhile, D-Mako had put Antylamon into a nightmare. He grinned as he fed off her fears of spiders. Oh, how she was afraid of them! Scanning her memory of the fear the evil being noticed that a spider had bit her the one time while she was outside. That is where it sprouted-and that is where it will consume the digimon! The screams from Lopmon were delicious as he ate them.

However, he had to dodge Gallantmon's attack. There was more work to be done D-Mako thought and prepared to put everyone in their worst nightmare-along with D-Ai.

"What's wrong with Suzie?" asked Mako towards Ai. The two were watching Suzie squirm and Lopmon had fallen as well. Suzie seemed to be in a nightmare!

The two were scared as Hopemon and Beelzemon were far away. Ai was about to answer but she was in pitch blackness and looked around. Nothing just pitch black. An empty feeling filled Ai. Memories of the battle faded as she took a few steps and nothing happened. Everything was black, no sound, no way to identify where the young Tamer was. Being alone in the dark was not good!

"Mako?" she whispered, as her big brown eyes started to fill with tears. She hated the dark and hated being alone. Nothing replied her and everything was silent. She needed her brother!

"Mako!"

But, he was nowhere to be found...

"No...no..." she wailed tumbling to the ground and sobbing.

"Ai!" called Mako, who was suddenly in a church. Again, the memory of the battle had left him. In the Gothic church, there were tall pillars reaching to the vast ceiling. Stained glass windows had pictures of Gothic statues with gargoyles. The boy Tamer grew terrified. He suddenly jumped at the noise of thunder and ducked under a pew. He feared lightening more than anything else. Usually, when there was thunder and lighting, Ai, Impmon, Lindy, or his parents would comfort him. But there was no one. Where was Ai or anyone else? His thoughts were disturbed by the crackling sound of thunder. He clenched his ears and started to cry miserably. Just make it stop! Mako thought again and again...

"What's happening to them?" asked MegaGargomon towards Gallantmon. The knight snapped his head towards the estranged children. Suzie was shrieking and screaming for help. Ai was on the ground yelling for someone, and Mako was covering his ears and screaming. Lopmon was also trying to wipe something off her body, while gasping for air. The two megas had forgot about the D-twins for far too long as they attacked. Takato suddenly felt himself break from Gulimon and he saw that they were facing each other in a room. The battle dripped out of their memories and they were confused as where they had appeared.

"Where are we, Takatomon?"

"I dunno, boy." Takato looked around. It was pretty bare room with only a desk with several Guilmon drawings on it. The red eyed Tamer gasped as he saw Gulimon being taken into a car by faceless figures, suddenly. The group zipped out of the room and the car was there making Takato start to run but it was like he was molasses and could not make it in time to save Guilmon. The faceless individuals threw the red digimon into a cage and iron bars locked around him. Guilmon whined and tried breaking free but it was no use. He was trapped! Takato felt powerless as Guilmon was being carried away.

"Gulimon! No!" he called out running for him and holding out his hand. What was he going to do with out his digimon? He couldn't loose him again! The car was not out of sight as Takato kept running and running...

Guilmon however saw something different. He was with Takato still but his Tamer had his back turned against the dinosaur. He could sense Takato was angry at him for something...

"Takatomon, what did I do wrong?"

"I hate you!" he cried turning away from the digimon. "I wish you were destroyed. And that bread didn't exist!"

"No! You don't mean that!" Gulimon cried, putting his head down. He was so sad and depressed as to why Takato hated him. Did he do something wrong? He grew more scared at Takato started to yell and call him names. The amber eyes casted down as bread slowly started to disappear! What was going on!? Why was he losing two of his most favourite things! The bread and Takato!

Back in the real world, It was MegaGargomon, Beelzemon and Hopemon. They were all back to back as D-Ai and D-Mako had them cornered. They were faster, and stronger now. Feeding off nightmares gave them more power. Hopemon sent an attack, but D-Ai smacked it away easily. Their malicious laughs rang in the air.

"They're picking us off!" called Beelzemon, but he too was surrounded in darkness. The dark did not bother the mega as he took a few steps around. Grim, he saw a picture of Lindy turning into Deciliousmon but it changed, then into Lindy, Ai and Mako looking afraid of him. Then it changed again. Finally, whatever his nightmare was-it settled into a picture of an eye. It was the same eye from the D-Reaper. It started to talk with a voice like Jeri but it had a robot undertone in it.

"Beelzemon: a mega digimon that killed Leomon-that killed Leomon-that killed Leomon." The voice repeated as Beelzemon's eyes grew wide.

"NO! Stop it! Shut up! SHUT UP!" he roared taking out his gun but it wasn't there. He changed into his human form-completely useless.

"-that killed Leomon-that killed Leomon-that killed Leomon." It kept repeating it as Beelzemon was driven to the ground. He saw Ai and Mako run away-terrified of him. Lindy was in her digimon form disgusted at him. This nightmare kept droning on and Beelzemon was not too sure when-or if it would stop.

"What's happening, Hopemon?" called out MegaGargomon but he felt himself separating. Crap! Henry thought, but he was sent into his worst nightmare.

Henry stood like a statue and saw Terriermon being destroyed. Terriermon just floated away and his data being loaded by D-Reaper. The dark haired Tamer sprinted to where Terriermon was. Nothing was left. It was like he was never there.

"No…Terriermon-please. Come back." He whispered as he turned around. He saw his family disappear the same as Terriermon. Tears started to come out of his eyes. His family can't be gone too! Where could they have gone? His dad was gone, Suzie was gone, mom too...

"Please, come back!" Henry whispered as he felt himself wrapping his arms around him. He was alone and his family was gone…

Terriermon stood in his tracks when he saw a big house with several zombie like creatures around it. In front was Henry, Suzie, Lopmon and others all dead and staring at him. They started to moan and raise their hands asking for 'brains'.

"Momentai, Momentai." He whispered taking a step forward but the zombie creatures twitched-sending him back several steps. The dog digimon could not move! It was like something grabbed his tiny feet and bolted him down to the ground. Terriermon was stuck!

Hopemon found herself alone as she heard everyone screaming something. Were they stuck in their minds? What had evil Ai and Mako done? It was only her now to defeat the D-Twins. Frowning, she felt her other personality shine through. The more evil and darker one.

"You're not going to get away with this." Hopemon growled, punching D-Ai and blocking a kick from D-Mako. They just giggled and the brown haired girl started to speak,

"We already have. They are stuck in their fears forever and there is nothing you can do about it. We will feast tonight, dear brother!" The twins shrieked with an insane laughed as Hopemon flinched.

"What does the D-Reaper want?"

"D-Reaper wants you exterminated," Red eyes opened, glaring at green ones. "And desires the Tamers destroyed as well as all life form and data that had evolved over their capacities. It also understands how you humans, think, feel and act and created us her Agents to stop you. Revenge is best served with fear." Ai said in a robotic tone. Suddenly, she snapped back, "Our master will be pleased to have you deleted."

"I have to stop you nonetheless, and I will save my friends." Hopemon grabbed her staff tightly ready to do battle. Hopemon looked at D-Ai and widened her eyes. Where was D-Mako? Her answer was her vision fading. Falling to the ground was the last thing she felt and saw before darkness.

Suzie cried softly. Where was Lopmon? Why hadn't Henry came in to save her? The ruby red eyes and hands crept closer and closer towards her. Oh, she wish she could have Henry here! He would always chase away the bad guys-make them rue the day they would attack Suzie Xao Wong!

In the past, Henry was always protecting Suzie. The little girl was always watched, treated like a delicate flower like a princess. She was the family's youngest. Henry would make sure she would wash her hands, brush her teeth, not put forks in the electrical socket. Sometimes, he would play tricks on her but most of the time he was kind and caring. The one time he even helped Suzie bandage her knee when she fell running in the park. Her knee was decorated with Hello Kitty band-aids; which made her the cool girl in class for a week!

The pink haired girl wished everything was back to normal. She can't do this on her own! She needed to be protected!

"Suzie...Suzie." A girl called out in the darkness. The chocolate brown eyes stared at a soft light drifting towards the scared girl. In a flash, the bad creatures stopped moving towards her and the red eyes vanished. The light transformed into herself! Another Suzie but in a ghost form, appeared.

"Wh-Who are you? Are you me?" The real Suzie wiped her tears away with the blanket. "If you are, can you help me?"

The other Suzie frowned. "No, I can not help you Suzie. But I know someone who can."

"Who? Terriermon?"

"No Suzie. You."

The Tamer gasped covering her face with blankets. She was no hero! Suzie never faced bad guys on her own-someone was always with her protecting her! The pink hair covered her eyes as she whimpered more. The ghostly hand was placed on Suzie's shoulder to comfort.

"I know it sounds scary, but you have so much potential. I know you can stand up to your fears by yourself. Believe. Have hope," The ghostly Suzie started to fade, giving a few last comforting words to the nine year old Tamer. "I know Henry would be proud of you..."

Suzie whimper as the dark hands gripped around her and tightened. Her own voice suddenly echoed when she was about to give up. Something woke up inside the girl and finally, she stood firm.

"Go away big meanies. I'm not afraid of you anymore!" she struggled and fought back in anger until they vanished in smoke. Gone! Just like that! Suzie gasped and cheered. With a shock, she returned to the battlefield where the broken village was. D-Ai and D-Mako seemed too occupied stuffing their faces in Hopemon's nightmares.

Suzie frowned. She was the only one awake right now! If she could wake up the others quietly, they could bash the evil meanies! Quickly, she went to Lopmon and put a hand on her partner. She could talk to Lopmon no matter what. And no matter what, Lopmon could hear her. The two were so close...

In seconds, the brown digimon opened her eyes and looked up at Suzie. With a grin, they both hugged.

"Suzie, I'm so happy you saved me."

"We need to wake up the others, quietly! We are gunna stop the evil twins. Help me."

The two partners worked together and sought out Ai and Mako who's screams turned into moans. Their nightmares were slowly being eaten away.

Ai found herself hearing Suzie's voice and stood up. She was tired of being afraid. This was nothing but darkness! Ai could conquer the darkness if she tried!

"I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid!" she repeated and felt a relieving sensation inside her. The darkness was burned away by her light and she awoken from the nightmare. Brown eyes met pink eyes as Ai and Suzie hugged. Now, it was time for Mako!

Mako heard Ai's voice and nodded. Quietly, he climbed out of the pew and stood strong as the thunder echoed through the church.

"Is that all you got?" he cried out, smirking. He started to talk like Impmon when a bad digimon was trying to hurt him.

"All ya are is thunder. My momma is scarier than that!" It was working! The thunder rumbled and slowly the whole scene melted away into a dream. The young boy woke up and looked around confused. He remembered he was in the middle of a battle! Instructed by Suzie, he went to Beelzemon along with Ai.

"SHUT UP!" The angel mega roared, trying to find something to kill the voice with. Anything would do!

"Killed Leomon-Kill-"

"Beelzemon!" Mako cried into the nightmare. "Don't be afraid! Have hope and fight it. We know you can do it!"

"You can beat this!" Ai said to the distraught Beelzemon.

"Ai...Mako." Beelzemon looked above him and stood there with wide eyes. "Don't be afraid huh? Well ain't gotta say that twice! This nightmare is toast!"

"Killed Leomon…"

"Pft, is that all ya got? You aint dong a good job of scarin' me anymore. I'm not gunna let you bother me now. Not ever!"

Beelzemon smirked as the nightmare shattered and he woke up. Thankfully, his Tamers were unharmed and hugged them briefly.

"Munchkins, let's work on pineapple head."

Lindy woke up suddenly in pitch blackness. She was in her mind and she knew it. Those things had put her under the nightmare spell...

"Just have hope." She whispered to herself as she took several deep breaths and calmed herself down. Slowly, she found her cross necklace and held it tight. After taking a few steps, she saw a house. Her house was staring at her just like before. It was the house with her old family. She opened the door to find her old family standing there with smiles on their faces. They were back! Lindy couldn't remember what she was doing before but that did not matter. Her family was here!

"Merry Christmas!" they chimed. The blonde haired girl couldn't comprehend on what to say. Should she go near them or just stay put? The fact that this was all in her head left her and she walked towards them. Suddenly, she felt herself change into her digimon form that looked like Impmon. She gasped.

"Who are you? What have you done with my Lindy?" cried her mother. The hybrid looked up with distress. They rejected her still! Why? She turned to her farther.

"You're not my daughter." He said harshly and started to leave. She threw out her hand.

"Please dad-don't go! Don't leave me here!" she called out and they kept on walking. She turned around and saw her uncle Mark, dead with those lifeless eyes.

"I should have stayed home but no! I had to go find you and die! My death was your fault and you know it!"

Lindy shrieked and tears sprung from her eyes. "Please, I'm sorry!"

Uncle Mark changed into a young boy around thirteen years old. He had sandy brown hair, and clear blue eyes. She felt her lips say something to him without her control. He disappeared.

"NO ETHAN!" she screamed holding out a hand. He was gone as well. She hit the ground, mumbling sorry over and over again.

"Sorry? You're not sorry for destroying those people." came Takato and all of her friends. Images of Deciliousmon floated around her. All the terror she caused... She couldn't handle all of this!

"Lindy, have hope!"

That voice...it had vanished before she could do anything else. Deciliousmon appeared-all in her powerful form.

"Little Lindy, little Lindy. I am going to make sure everyone you love dies a slow death! And you are going to watch it all happen!"

Lindy felt herself transform into Deciliousmon without hesitation. Her pink hair flew out, the awful white dress appeared, and small black horns grew out of her head. She saw Ai and Mako trying to run away from her but they were too slow...

"No. Stop it. Stop!" Lindy shrieked feeling herself charge up an attack. Her invisible hands were wrapping around the children's legs and dragging them on the ground. Shrieks of their pain filled Lindy's ears.

"Toots, you gotta stand up to your fears!" The Brooklyn accent came out of no where. The Deciliousmon inside her stopped and Lindy was left facing all her other forms. The dark blue Impmon, Ladydevimon, Hopemon, Deciliousmon...they were all facing her with neutral expressions.

"My fear..." Lindy trailed off. What was her fear exactly? It was her family rejecting her at first but it evolved into something more. It was for sometime Ethan and Uncle Mark-but that changed too. It was something about the twins, and her digimon forms.

It all clicked. That unknown force that pushed Ai out of the way, the power to change so quickly, it had been her. She wanted to protect those kids with her life! Lindy would give anything for them!

"I'm afraid of losing Ai and Mako," Lindy began facing Deciliousmon. "But, I know that I will always protect them!" The image of Deciliousmon disappeared instantly. Turning to her other forms she talked to them,

"And I know that you guys are a part of me no matter what. It is time to accept that now. I'm sorry for trying to hide from you."

The apology made all three smile and they faded into the darkness. Finally, she was talking to herself,

"I will not let my fears get in the way of being their guardian! No. Matter. What."

Hopemon gasped for breath once again and sat up from the ground. Her breaths were shallow and she was clenching her chest. That was horrible! Looking around, she smiled widely as Mako and Ai hugged her. Thank God they were safe, she thought closing her eyes. Beelzemon was there holding out a clawed hand.

"Ya did good toots."

Hopemon grabbed his hand and stood up. Did they know what she saw? Did thy know about her fears? It didn't seem like it. Grabbing her staff, she looked around for the threat but to her surprise, there was none. Where had the D-Twins gone?

"Shinin' armour, and Dog Robot are havin' a little chat with 'em. Those two are in hot water for pulling that stunt on us. Hopefully, we get some good info outta 'em."

Beelzemon pointed casually towards the red and green mega a fair ways away 'chatting' with the twins. If by chatting, the twins were on the verge of deletion and MegaGargomon was screaming out questions.

"Suzie saved us." Mako spoke up to Hopemon tugging on her robe. Hopemon let out a 'oh' sound and went to thank Suzie personally. The little girl replied it was no problem smiling like no tomorrow. She must be proud, the angel digimon mused to herself giving a little smile.

"You were very brave Suzie. We owe our lives to you." Hopemon put a hand on her shoulder.

Gallantmon and MegaGargomon had enough. Aside from admitting Jeri was taken by D-Reaper and wanting revenge, there was nothing more they could fish out. The blast engulfed the two evil twins and they turned into two wisps of blue smoke and disappeared. On cue, the two megas reversed into their normal forms and were exhausted.

Hopemon broke the silence.

"YES! Totally our victory there! We freaking creamed them!" She shouted throwing her arms in the air and doing a dance. Her wings ruffled and in a flash, she turned back into her digimon self. She skipped in the air with complete joy. "That's what I'm talking about!"

"Okay Lindy-we get ya point, we won. Whoopee do."

Lindy frowned and sighed, Beelzemon couldn't just let her celebrate!

"You expect so much from yourselves! I mean we like, defeated them!"

"Uh, guys? I kinda think this is a good time to rest because Ai, Mako, and Suzie…and apparently Gulimon are falling asleep." Takato said.

Sure enough, half of the group was falling asleep. Suzie muttered something about being a princess, and Mako muttered on about a video game he had. Gulimon was talking about his tower of peanut butter and jelly bread sticks.

"Well not much choice we have with the big guy asleep." Terriermon yawned wrapping his ears around him like a burrito sleeping bag. "Wake me up later."

Everyone set up camp as the night took over. Almost day three had arrived and they just solved the southern digital world problem. Takato and Henry curled up by Suzie, Ai and Mako.

Tonight, Impmon and Lindy were keeping watch.

Lindy climbed up a tee. She had noticed it during the battle and thought of this as a good place to scout. Lindy could see what appeared to be the real world. Bright lights shone from the dark sky and she assumed they were stars. It was all still surreal to be here-battling and saving the world.

"It's beautiful." she whispered to herself in English.

"Yeah, I know I am." Came a voice in English and she saw Impmon landing on a branch above her. Lindy replied, rolling her eyes and telling Impmon to get over himself. He got a good laugh and sat down beside her. Things were starting to cool down between them, finally.

"Reminds me back home in Canada." Lindy sighed. She continued the conversation in English. "God, I miss it there. My friends and I would be probably screwing around."

"Screwing around?"

"Movies, drinking, occasional sniff of crack. It was the life of a teen." Lindy looked at Impmon's confused expression. "I was kidding about the crack. I guess we did it because we wanted to feel life at it's fullest. Back home, I was one of the popular girls around! I was pretty smart too. Now, I'm in some special exchange program to get me caught up. And my family…well, my family is enjoying themselves without me."

"Ya got a better family now. One that gives a shit about ya." Impmon replied. "You can't go on keep thinkin' they're gunna come back...This is your home, toots. The twins are crazy about ya..."

I'm crazy about ya, Impmon thought without hesitation.

The dark blue Impmon sighed hugging her knees. It felt like the sewers all over again. "I know, Impy. I know. I would do anything for Ai and Mako, they mean so much to me now." A thought came across the blue digimon and she snorted-laughing to herself.

"What?" Impmon demanded.

"I just remembered when you wore that bra at the mall. I died laughing so much that night."

Impmon blushed remembering that. God, that was humiliating. "Well, I remember the time I set those curtains on fire to wake you up. Got a good laugh outta that one."

"Okay buddy," Lindy jumped up a branch to face Impmon. "First: You could have burned the house down. And second, I was trying to accustom to a crazy, cute, imp running around the house."

A moment of silence passed by.

"Ya think I'm cute?" Impmon asked seriously. Lindy cursed to herself and blushed. She was not supposed to say that!

"Well, er- no. I mean kinda. Back then, yes!" The answers spewed out like no tomorrow. Dammit, she was supposed to check her feelings at the door of the digital world. Now was not the time to go all 'lovey dovey'. Impmon must have forgot and started a whole other conversation with her.

"What kind of stuff did ya get yourself into, toots? I thought you were a stick up the ass kinda gal."

Lindy laughed and told him an adventurous story about her and the class making a petition to fire a teacher, another time when they snuck pigs into the school, and even a time when one of her friends, Cam pulled the fire alarm during exams.

"So you were a bad girl?"

"Ya can say that. It was mostly me and-" she stopped suddenly at the other person's name. Ethan Colons . A clear cut picture of him stood out in her mind. His sandy brown hair in wavy locks and his dark blue eyes, his tanned skin that made him look exotic. He was gorgeous to say the least, and one of her best friends that loved getting her into trouble.

"Who?" Impmon asked, looking at her curiously.

"Ethan Colons. He was really good friend of mine." she whispered, feeling tears coming to her eyes. "We were friends since Ai and Mako's age."

"Was?" Impmon asked.

"He died while D-Reaper attacked. He saved someone life."

Lindy was suddenly quiet and Impmon felt he messed up. She was sensitive over this guy still and he had to go bring her up. Impmon knew what could happen to people when they lose their friends. The imp could never imagine Jeri's pain of losing Leomon. A mistake he made that cost him dear.

"Sorry, toots-I shoulda-"

"Don't be sorry," Lindy smiled. "I'm over that, he would have wanted me to be happy. And here I am on a quest to save the world! Me saving the world! This is better than some soccer game! Who would have thought, eh?"

Impmon and Lindy chatted for what seemed the longest time about anything they could think about. Between life, Lindy's life in Canada, and Impmon's life before he met her. Finally, dawn broke away from the night sky revealing it was time to wake everyone up for day four. Impmon was about to leave the tree when he mentioned something to the hybrid imp,

"If it makes ya feel any better, I think ya kinda cute too."

Lindy wasn't able to come up with anything smart to say to that as he left. Her heart fluttered inside making her skin tingle. It went all the way down to her large clawed feet.

He thinks I'm cute...he thinks I'm cute! HE THINKS I'M CUTE! YES! Lindy almost fell off the tree branch as she fist pumped the air wildly.

Authors Note: Jeez, that was a long chapter. That should keep you guys busy until the next one! The updates will be slower as I'm kinda combing through Secrets (I see errors like crazy still but no where as bad as before.) I look at the graphs and people are looking back at these stories and it makes me so happy. Thank you very much everyone.

Edit Authors Note: Clean up as usual. I think I'm including everyone pretty well so far in the story. Lindy's being put back, I'm including Henry more-it's slowly working out. I almost can't remember what the old version of this was like...actually I don't want to remember. That was God awful.
