Author's Note:

This is my first Thunderbird FanFiction, so diehard Thunderbird fans, go easy. I also have only watched the 2004 Movie and have watched the magnificent works of Criminally Charmed and Little Miss Bump, also TBMom. So, if character's actions are wrong, I apologize in advance.

The writing style may change. So any first person will be in my OC's 1st Person, while other tidbits will be in 3rd person. There will be a break and then in Italics 3rd Person, but it will be centered around a character. So it will say, 3rd Person Name, only my OC will be in 1st Person.

Disclaimer: I do not own the Thunderbirds, I only own my OC, Kathryn Dwyer Tracy. - There are also specific lines from the movie, so I don't own those either.

- Chapter 10 -

- Recap from Last Chapter -

Scott gently leaned over my bed and took me into a hug, "Sprout, you shouldn't have to be the only one to say your sorry. I should say i'm sorry too. And everyone else. We want you and Kathryn to both be a part of the Thunderbirds, but you to are the youngest, and if anything were to happen to the both of you. Well, I wouldn't know what to do. At the bank, when you fell unconscious in my arms, I was scared. I was truly scared I was going to loose you. I'm sorry Allie for not being there for you lately."

"You're not the only one," said a voice from the door.

(3rd Person - General)

Virgil had left to get the medicine needed for Alan and as he was heading back, he barged into Gordon and John. Quickly, Gordon had grabbed John before he fell to the ground. The astronaut's arm was still in a sling and his rib was still healing, but he was in better position then the twins.

Gordon and John had been out on the patio when Dr. Gardner had told them Alan had woken up. Lanora had seen Scott quickly run toward the infirmary, so she had suspected the youngest was awake. The doctor had told the brothers and they went to join the rest of their family.

Since they had returned home, Dr. Gardner had been staying with the Tracy's. Even though, Virgil is perfectly qualified, there was going to be Kathryn's recovery. It would take the longest and Lanora was a specialist, so she would be more useful to help out the youngest Tracy. Kathryn would have to learn to walk again after her back completely heals and with her weak bones, it would take even longer. It was going to be interesting.

Virgil, luckily hadn't fallen and also saved the supplies. Why they kept the supplies in the next room over, would always confuse the medic.

The three brothers walked in just to hear Alan talking to Jeff and Scott. They themselves were in tears at the thought of what Alan was thinking. They walked into the room.

Gordon spoke out as he entered through the door, "You're not the only one."

Scott and Alan looked up to see the other three Tracy brothers, half in tears, coming into the room.

Alan spoke up, "You guys heard all of that?"

At first the brothers could hear the exhaustion in Alan's voice, but what sparked their attention more was the blond's ragged breathing.

John spoke up, "Yeah and I think we are all glad we did."

"John's right," Virgil continued, "We wouldn't be here without you and the others. You led them like a true leader and acted on instinct. We are so proud of you and for everything else, I'm sorry."

Gordon added, "Me too. We didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Now, if anywhere to really blame, take it out on all of our genes. I heard Tracy's are hardheads who will go through anything to get what they want. I'm just saying."

This made the family laugh. Gordon was always the jokester and the moments like this are special no matter the cause. However, their laughter subsided when Alan was racked with a coughing fit. It took over the fourteen year old's entire body. Virgil moved through his sea of brothers to get to his youngest. The medic instructed Alan, and helped the boy, to use the oxygen mask. Alan's oxygen level's weren't normal for the overly active runner, so it only worried Virgil even more.

Jeff moved closer to his youngest son and tried to comfort the boy by rubbing his shoulder blades slightly, like when Alan was younger.

Scott was helping Virgil with Alan because with each cough sent the injured boy shooting up and it would only cause him more pain. So, the eldest held Alan's torso firmly, but not too tightly. It pained him to see the blond in such agony.

Slowly, Alan's coughing subsided and he felt even more exhausted then he already was. He was also sweaty and his entire body ached like crazy. The blue eyed boy stared directly into his older brother Virgil's eyes and the medic nodded.

During the commotion, Gordon and John had moved slightly away from the bed to give Virgil some room. They just happened to be right next to Kathryn's bed. At that moment Dr. Gardner walked into the infirmary, "Virgil, is everything alright in here? My scanners are going crazy for both the twin's beds. What is going on?!"

This stopped the medic in his tracks, he questioned, "Both twins? But… but Kathryn's not awake?"

As the flabbergasted middle son moved toward the sleeping girl, it turns out that the youngest Tracy had awakened. With a moan, John and Gordon's attention turned to Kathryn.

Her eyes shot open in panic.

John moved closer and with his good arm, grabbed hold of Kathryn's hand. The elder blond rubbed his finger slightly across her hand in a soothing motion. It slowly calmed her down.

Dr. Gardner moved toward the bed and yelled to Virgil, "First administer his pain medication and fever reducer. His charts are way too high," the doctor returned to her now awakened patient, "Kathryn, it's me Dr. Gardner. Do you understand where you are? Who you are with?"

The blonde's movement's were sluggish, but after a few moments, Kathryn spoke through the oxygen mask, "I'm in the infirmary, with my family." She smiled. Kathryn then looked at the hand holding hers, "John!"

He smiled in return.

Before Kathryn could do anything, Gordon put a hand slightly on her shoulder, "Easy Kat. Remember you're injured. If you stay still, it won't hurt that much." The aquanaut then gave his little sister his signature cheeky grin.

She returned the smile.

John spoke to her, "How you feeling Kat?"

Kathryn pondered on the thought and then remembered the last time she woke up, "Where's Alan? I need to see Alan." Kathryn struggled against Gordon's hold.

All the Tracy's knew this was going to happen. The twin's relationship had changed over these past few days.

Even though Alan was struggling to keep his eyes open from the pain medication, he just had to see his baby sister. Now he was struggling against Scott and his father. He pulled the oxygen mask down. Virgil tried to stop him, "Alan you need to keep it on."

"No, I need to see her Virgil. Look at her!" Alan begged.

Kathryn looked past John and was able to see Alan surrounded by her father, Scott, and Virgil. She knew Alan was still injured. The youngest Tracy struggled again against Gordon. Her back and chest ached in the process, but she didn't care. Kathryn needed to know herself that her twin was alright. She pulled the oxygen mask down.

Dr. Gardner moved to help Gordon, "Kathryn, it's alright. Alan is fine, injured, but fine. You need to keep the oxygen mask on. If you don't, it could cause an attack."

"But...but... I need to talk to Alan! I need to tell him something," Kathryn gasped.

Lanora replaced her oxygen mask and on the next bed, Alan caught free of his brothers and father. He spoke to them firmly, "She's not going to calm down unless she sees me and sees for herself that I am alright. I'll rest after she has calmed down."

Alan's glare was just as strong as their father and immediately Scott let go of his brother. Jeff also took his hands away from his youngest, but kept them close by. Alan moved again and was able to get his legs onto the side of the bed. The IV and other cords tugging at his arms. He gave Virgil a pleading look and the medic sighed and agreed to help Alan out. Virgil helped the blond out of his bed and slowly on to his feet. Alan crumpled to the floor and quickly Scott and Virgil steadied the boy before his injuries could become even worse. The brothers moved slowly toward Kathryn's bed slowly.

John moved out of the chair so that Alan would be able to sit. The kid looked like he was going to fall any moment. His movement was also sluggish. The only reason Alan wasn't falling to his feet was because of Scott and Virgil's steady arms surrounding him.

Kathryn looked at Alan as he made it to the edge of the bed. She could tell he was tired and in pain. Her twin sat in the chair John was in and took her hand, "Hey, Kat."

"Alan, are you really ok?"

"Yeah, I'm here and I'm safe with you and our family," Alan smiled tiredly at his twin.

Scott and Virgil had moved near the end of the bed. Alan was on the right in the chair with his father behind him. Jeff had his hands on Alan's shoulders. While Gordon and John were on the left side of Kathryn's bed. In all, the entire family was surrounding the youngest Tracy. Dr. Gardner kept close by, just in case she was needed.

Kathryn looked her twin in the eyes, "I'm sorry for anything I have ever done to you. I really do believe you can do anything that is put in front of you. I'm..."

"Wait, Kathryn. You shouldn't have to be the one to say your are sorry. It should be me. I was the one who antagonized you and I was the one who started the fights. I truly am sorry Kathryn. I was also the one who triggered most your attacks when we were home. I wanted to protect you so much that my overprotectiveness became out of control and I hurt you. Please forgive me Kat," Alan had tears in his eyes.

Kathryn also started to tear up, "Of course I would forgive you. Alan, you are my twin for life. We are going to fight, but no matter what we'll always be there for each other."

Alan, even though in pain, stood up and gently put his arms around Kathryn. The family surrounding the twins each had tears in their eyes at the moment their babies just shared. It was a happy thought to know the twins were getting along again. Like when they were younger.

Alan noticed how much Kathryn was yawning and how tired she looked, so when he pulled away, he told her, "Rest Kathryn, we are still going to be here when you wake up."

The youngest Tracy looked around at her family and fell into a peaceful slumber.

Alan stood up straighter only to realize how much pain he was in and, like his twin before him, fell unconscious knowing his family was there for him.

Jeff, who was standing behind his youngest son, noticed the blond fall unconscious before anyone else and quickly grabbed the boy. Scott and Virgil came over to their father and youngest brother quickly. Virgil spoke, "Dad let's get Alan back on the bed. He lasted longer than I thought he would. I still don't like that he had to get out of bed."

Jeff slowly, with the help of Scott, lifted his youngest son from the ground and to the bed. Virgil fixed the IV and other various cords surrounding the boy. The medic checked Alan's breathing and as he suspected, the blond was having trouble breathing again. He replaced the oxygen mask on his youngest brother's face. This earned a worried look from Jeff and the boys. Virgil turned to his family, "He's fine, I suspected he would have trouble breathing. Walking just from the other bed to Kathryn's created more pain in his ribs, so he's uncomfortable. Hopefully the painkillers will take over for both of them and they'll get some good sleep."

They sighed in relief.

Gordon looked at his elder brother, "When will they be ready to leave the infirmary?"

Dr. Gardner moved in to answer the question, "I can answer that. Alan is luckier than Kathryn, but his ribs are going to be tricky. In forty-eight hours, Alan can leave, but will still have to be monitored by Virgil. That's if his slight fever doesn't rise any more and his breathing levels become more stable. He's going to have shortness of breath for awhile which is why he needs to be monitored. Someone needs to be around Alan all the time for up to three weeks. For the first week he'll need to sleep with the oxygen mask, the next week he can use the nasal cannula. Alan will try to argue that he doesn't need it, but when he's sleeping, his injuries are affecting his breathing too much. He won't be able to do anything strenuous and no roughhousing," Lanora glared at Gordon. "When his cuts heal, I will allow him to go in the pool. However, no laps, no dunking under water or anything like that. Not even volleyball. Alan's ribs are severely fractured and he's lucky that they didn't break. His ribs are close to breaking, so that's why extra caution is needed."

Lanora looked between the faces of the brothers and of Jeff. There reactions were what she expected. Fear, shock, and most of all, guilt. The doctor blamed it on that damn Tracy stubbornness.

Jeff looked at Lanora, "What about Kathryn?"

"Kathryn is a whole other story. Her ribs were broken along with the fractures and the severely fractured back. It will take almost two weeks for her to even start therapy and that's just the beginning. Her attacks are going to be the biggest worry. They will affect her breathing and just weaken her so much, Kathryn won't have enough energy to work on her therapy. The major worry will be making sure she doesn't get to stressed or spooked. Kathryn also needs to stay calm, we don't want anything sparking an attack," the doctor looked at the worried family and continued, "They are going to be fine. It just takes time."

Jeff took a step forward, "Thank you Lanora. I don't know what would have happened without you."

"No problem Jeff. Now by my orders, everyone will get some good rest. That also means you Virgil and Jeff," she smiled as the boys and father left laughing.

Lanora turned her attention back to the twins. Their lives had changed and she knew, it was going to be a good ending for the Tracy family.

Now it would be the recovery to wait upon.
