Chapter 10: Harry's POV
After dinner, the exchange students went upstairs to put away their stuff, whilst we stayed downstairs and talked quietly.
"What do you think of them?" Asked Ginny thoughtfully. "I think they're nice."
"I think they're Death Eaters." Said Ron promptly.
Hermione rolled her eyes. "Why does that not surprise me?"
"Look," Said Ron. "They seem really suspicious. They had to get new wands!"
"So? Maybe they broke them." I suggested.
"All of them? No, I think they have to replace them 'cause they're on the run. Their own wands would be a dead giveaway."
"But Percy said it was just a custom to replace they're wands."
"Yeah, Percy said that. He could be lying."
"That's ridiculous!" Laughed Hermione. "Why would the Death Eaters employ children?"
"I wouldn't call Jay a child." Fred piped up. "She doesn't have a sense of humor."
"What did the students get at the shop, anyway?" I asked.
"Peruvian Instant Darkness powder. But they also bought a couple of Decoy Detonators, and a full set of the Skiving Snackboxes."
"Suspicious, if you ask me." Ron was quick to say. "Why would they buy that?"
"I still think it's unlikely that Death Eaters would employ children." Said Hermione impatiently.
"And Percy and Annabeth seem really nice!" Protested Ginny.
"They could be faking." I supplied.
"Oh, Harry, not you too!"
"I'm just supplying information."
"It's easy to find out if their telling the truth of not." Pointed out George. "What school do they go to?"
"Bruner's Academy for the Gifted. I asked." Said Hermione.
"Well, look it up and send them an owl. If they attend, they're most likely innocent. If not, ask them about it."
"Good idea!" Hermione jumped eagerly to her feet. "I'll do that now. Night!" She practically jumped up the stairs.
Ron rolled his eyes. "Does anyone else think they're Death Eaters?"
I thought about it. True, Jay and Nico were a little hostile, but not evil. And their customs seemed a little weird, but not sinister.
"I think you're accusing the wrong people, mate." I informed him. He rolled his eyes.
"Well, fine, if you want to be like that, it's fine with me. But mark my words, they'll be put in Slytherin!"
