IX. A new team
"So… Gileon, that person… is she… a boy?" she asked, as if unsure of what she had just asked. "No, no, no… isn't it more like… is he… a girl?" he replied, even Gileon himself is having a hard time processing what he just said.
The person in front of Alderfrost has 'near shoulder length' white hair, quite tall with a lean built and has a bit of a feminine, soft expression with red eyes that shine under the moonlight. Sitting alone near the fountain area just outside the inn, and happens to be in a deep thought.
"Gileon… is he what human refers to as 'pretty boy'?" Chrona asked politely, hoping that Gileon can enlighten her about this matter. "Maybe he is, maybe not. I'm not sure either. " He replied as he scratches his head. The two of them then continued their walk towards Alderfrost since it's getting late and they need their rest.
As Gileon and Chrona walked, that person looks up, his red orbs meets a pair of dark turquoise one. He gave a warm smile at Chrona, which caused her to blush. Gileon noticed her slightly crimson face. "What's wrong, Chrona? Not feeling well?" he asked, "N-no… I'm alright." She replied quickly, then bid him goodnight and stormed off to her room. He just shrugged and entered his room.
Morning had come to Calderock village, a trace of starry night still hinted in the dawning sky. However, the village is already busy with merchants and groups of adventurers wandering around town.
Gileon, who had been awake for less than an hour, are lounging in his room. He had finished his small training routines and took his morning bath. "Maybe I'll wait for Chrona a bit longer and we'll go to Deckard-san." He muttered to himself. Half an hour later, when Gileon was putting on his boots, a knock can be heard from outside his room.
"Gileon~ are you there?" A sleepy voice can be heard from the other side of the door. "Yeah, wait for a bit." He replied as he quickly grab his axe and head for the door. "Sorry for making you wait, Chrona." He said apologetically, she just shakes her head lightly and said "It's alright~"
They were on the front desk and was about to leave the inn when Chrona noticed a small glimpse of wavy hair that had just exited the building, as well as a huge amount of magic powers. Yet she's too sleepy to care, so she just shrugged it off. Gileon then lead their way to search for Master Deckard.
After a short walk across the town and lots of glances at Chrona, an irritated Gileon as well as a sleepy and oblivious Chrona reached their destination, "The Dragon Lodge" The main tavern of Calderock Village.
The tavern is a place where adventurers could exchange information, meet and party up with others, take jobs from the request board and most importantly, hanging out for a drink all night long (It's a tavern after all)
Inside the tavern, a dozen of long wooden tables and chairs are set on the middle with some smaller square tables surrounding it. The request board is on the far end of the room, and the bar adjacent to that board that not only serves foods and beverages but also information.
Despite the time is still quite early in the morning, Dragon Lodge is already filled with adventurers. Gileon and Chrona then walked across the room to master Deckard who're sitting at the bar table, with a couple of adventurers accompanying him.
Chrona wake up from her sleepy state as soon as she felt a familiar feeling of enormous magic powers from earlier at the inn, she also noticed a girl as she and Gileon approaches master Deckard.
A girl, probably 19, sitting next to master Deckard has a long, wavy grayish lavender hair and dressed in a long deep purple robe and brownish long tights, as well as a matching muffs and heels. Enjoying her drink in a care free manner, boredom evident on her eye, she took a side glance at the two and continued to drink. She has a staff on her back and a grimoire lying on the bar table in front of her.
Another adventurer stands behind her and master Deckard, a very familiar looking person which Gileon and Chrona saw last night in front of Alderfrost.
Snowy white long hair, deep yet shining red eyes, and a bit girlish (but still handsome nonetheless, Chrona's remark) face. He's a bit taller than Gileon, gives off a warm and gentle aura as he smiled with closed eyes, what we'll know as his signature smile. He carries a round shield on his left arm, and a wand is sheathed on his left side, hanging on his belt.
After taking a bit of his drink, he looked at Gileon and Chrona who had just arrived "Chrona-kun, Gileon-kun, good timing." Deckard said calmly. "I'm a bit busy since the royal troops from Saint Haven are here. So I was thinking to assign Fergus to assist you in searching for Rose-kun." A pause, "And it seems like there's another pair of adventurers here who are searching for Rose-kun" He gestured to the adventurers behind him.
The young gentleman introduced himself politely at them. "I'm Garvolsa, member of the Clerics Order. Pleased to meet you, Chrona-san, Gileon-san." He smiled at the end of his sentence. "Just Gileon is fine. Nice to meet you too, Garvolsa." Gileon replied as he smiled back at the young cleric. Chrona just nodded shyly as reply to his greetings.
"Come on miss sorceress, introduce yourself." Deckard said before drinking from his mug. The young lady snapped, obviously at being told what to do, and clicked her tongue before turning her chair at the trio. "Lagreta. Fairystar Sorceress. Gileon-kun and Chrona-chan right? Nice to meet you." She introduced herself hastily, and with a smile plastered on her face. A forced one. Clearly, she's not in the best of moods right now.
Deckard then stands up from his bar chair, still with his mug on his hand, and clears his throat before speaking. "Now the formalities are done, I'm assigning the four of you to go and meet Fergus at crystal stream. He'll explain on what to do later." The four young adventurers just stand there, expecting the town's guild master to say something more. But he just goes back to his seat and enjoyed his drink.
"What are you young'uns waiting for? A speech? Get going already, don't you want to save Rose-kun?" he said nonchalantly at them. "Yeah, we'll get going then." Gileon said with a grin and turned around. "Please excuse us, Deckard-san." Garvolsa added, he then went to exit the tavern, Chrona and Lagreta following after the two male adventurers.
A/N : I'm very very sorry about the late update. Real life stuff been harsh lately.. well, enough 'bout that. What do you think about the new chapter ? please leave a review about it ^^ I create a new setting (re: the tavern) for a more adventurous feeling to the story.
