And while I have you all... thank you so much for your continued support... so please R&R and continue to make me smile! Love you guys!
Lin turned, hearing all the commotion. He was more than a little shocked to see his change, straddling a petrified looking Mai-Chan...
"GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF HER!" A disembodied voice screamed. Lin stood, quickly followed by Naru, who extended his hand to Mai. As Mai reached up to take it, Naru was pushed backwards, crashing into the nearby wall. The monitors went off, and beeping sounded, indicating the sudden drop of temperature. Mai would have screamed, if it wasn't for the cold hand on hers. She felt a chill run down her spine, as icy cold breath hit her neck.
Even in this think darkness, Mai could still see an outline of something... which she would have mistaken for a hallucination, had it been any other time.
Mai stood to attention, feeling the presence that was once leaning over her, shift to her side.
"DON'T YOU THINK YOU HAVE HURT HER ENOUGH!" The voice screamed, directing her anger at Naru. "Why can't you just leave us alone!" She yelled, her voice breaking.
"What do you mean?" Mai asked, her voice harbouring no emotion, to put the spirit at ease. She turned to Mai, and Mai could make out tears, rolling down the girls ghostly form. She reached out to Mai, and Mai collapsed.
DREAM TIME
Mai was in an unfamiliar body, in an unfamiliar place. She looked around, noticing the sunset. It was beautiful. Next to her was a church, with cherry blossom trees. It was such a romantic place.
Mai looked down, seeing a mirror in her hand. She pulled it up, seeing long black hair, framing blue eyes and bright red lips. She wore a light brown skirt, and matching cardigan. She looked to be, overall, and pretty girl.
Mai watched as she was pulled forward, towards a man who stood by the church gate. He looked bored, but smiled none the less. Mai felt herself smile back, and twiddle her fingers shyly.
"Hayate" Mai greeted. She felt nerves for some reason. "Thank you for meeting me here"
"Well, after everything you have done for us, its the least I could do" The man spoke with as much grace as Naru, and yet even when he said these kind words, there was a cirtain distence to them.
"I-I have something to tell you" Mai muttered weakly, feeling her heart pound. "I think... I think that I-I am in love with you!" Mai blurted, feeling her cheeks warm.
And then, a coldness filled her, as she watched the person she loved, turn her der own...
She felt numb all over, and she felt like her heart was being wripped out... a feeling that she was far too familiar with...
Mai ran after him, pouring her heart out.
"I don't feel the same..." Hayate's words were simple, but cut deep. And before she knew it, her small world had crumbled there and then.
END OF DREAM
Mai woke. Her limbs heavy and eyes unfocused. It was still dark, and it was still cold.
After a few seconds, Mai was able to make out Lin's unconscious form slumped up against the wall. She was also able to make out Naru... being held up by an invisible force, his hands clawing at something around his neck.
"Stop!" Mai yelled, her voice frantic. She wasn't use to showing emotions of any kind. She had used her pain, to lock them deep within her heart. And now, she finds out once again, that she was never strong enough...
"WEAK!" The girl yelled, dropping Naru and stalking over to Mai. Tears streaking down her cheek, she switched targets. Her hands when to Mai's neck, but the grip was weak and ineffective. Mai's air pipe wasn't being blocked, but she was forced to her toes.
"You don't want to hurt me" Mai noted. She felt like taking it back soon after, since she felt the hand on her throat tighten. She didn't back down though. She used the pain like she always did. "I know what he did to you was wrong! But its not fair to take it out on other people" Mai scolded.
A noise that sounded like a scoff, sounded, before the cold presents morphed into something else. The shadows that engulfing the girl subsided, and all that was left was a scared child. The one from Mai's dream. Mai was dropped, and she stumbled backwards. Her hands flew to her face, but when Mai expected her to cry, she laughed. It was a loud, cold and twisted.
"THESE PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED! LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO YOU!" She screamed, her voice harbouring confusion more then anything. She wanted to know why Mai didn't hate them... they left her, and one broke her heart. Wasn't that enough reason to hate?
Mai looked at her feet. She knew she should hate them... but she knew better...
"But hating people now for what happened then, just seems really wrong, just think, if everyone did that, then the whole world would have to hate each other forever, and it would be so awful. Were going to have to learn to forgive each other!" Mai yelled, subconsciously repeating what she had told Lin all that time ago.
The girl looked down, tears once again rolling down her cheek.
"How can you be ok... he rejected you didn't he?!" She yelled. Mai looked down, gritting her teeth. It wasn't like she wasn't broken inside. The girl had stopped. She was still. And then, in a last desperate attempt to hold onto everything she believes in, she pulled a knife from her cardigan, and throw herself at Naru.
Mai didn't have to think. She didn't have to even tell her body to move, as it did that on its own. Mai jumped, landed just in front of Naru, just in time... and the knife that was due to pierce Naru's heart, hit the centre of Mai's chest...
NOOO! Mai-Chan! What did I do?! Did I kill Mai-Chan?! WELL REVIEW TO FIND OUT!
Till next time! Love you all!
