Author's Note: I am so sorry I have not updated in almost five years. Things have been so busy, but I am excited t continue this story because I've always been attached to these characters, and I am so grateful to everyone who still follows this. THANK YOU! Here's my next chapter and I'm sorry it's short, but there are more on the way!
Eddie ran so fast, that her sneakers slapped against the ground and the cold air burned her lungs. She didn't even care; she just needed to get away from Jake, Sienna…all of them. She didn't know where she would go, but she was sure some sort of campsite was around here. Anything away from this stupid trip. She pulled out her cell phone and dialed, the raindrops sticking to her screen.
"Hello?"
"Beth, hey. It's me. This trip sucks."
"What happened?"
"Jake and I…He's being so frustrating, and we keep fighting. All the time. Sienna even yelled at me."
"She has no right. Who does she think she is?"
"It's okay. She's actually kinda nice. It's just Jake. He's infuriating."
"Mom could come get you." Eddie felt a bubble of relief building up in her chest, until she felt a hand on her arm.
"Eddie, what the hell?" Jake was behind her and he looked mad. Cute, but mad.
"What do you want, Jake?" She snapped.
"Jake? Jake's there?" Beth sounded excited.
"It's not a good thing, Beth?"
"What? Are you on the phone?"
Everyone was talking at once, so it was almost hard to tell who was saying what. It reminded Eddie of the video, "Who's on Third?".
"Beth, I've gotta go," she said, hanging up. She turned to face Jake.
"What do you want?" He hesitated, and the anger crumpled from his face as he looked at her. She thought he might apologize or something, but he only replied with one word.
"You." He turned away, embarrassed, and Eddie acted almost instinctively. Tugging on his shirt collar, she pulled him to face her and their lips collided.
She didn't know what was coming next, or what she even wanted to come next, so she just held him and kissed him as the rain fell around them and her phone tumbled to the ground, forgotten.
