Hey guys, NaruinoFTW back with another chapter. Sorry for the delay, working on a different story called Journey to Uzukage, check it out if you haven't yet and let me know what you think. Someone said I should have Sasuke unlock the rinnengan and learn to master it, can anyone tell me how the rinnengan is unlocked? I never really understood how you unlocked the rinnengan.
Also, quite a few people messaged me ideas for Sasuke's relationship ideas and quite a few of them were for Sasuke/Tayuya or Sasuke/Karin so let me know which one you would like more. Also, should Sasuke get the curse mark and learn to control it or would it be better just to forget about the mark?
Naruto and Ichigo stood in the middle of the arena staring each other down. Hayate told them to begin but they still stood there just looking each over. "You want to go ahead and give up now Naruto? Save yourself the embarrassment of getting beat." Ichigo asked with a slight chuckle.
"Sorry Ichigo, can't do that. If my girlfriend was to make it and I didn't, no one would ever let me forget that." Naruto replied with his own smile.
"Well, can't say I didn't ask to give you the easy way out. I'm not going to hold back Naruto." Ichigo replied as he pulled his sword off his back as the bandages around it began to unravel. Soon Naruto was looking at a large sword taller than Ichigo himself. "This is my Zanpakuto, Slaying Moon, also known as Zangetsu."
Naruto created five shadow clones and he and the clones pulled out two kunai each holding them in a reverse grip. "Nice blade, let's see what it can do." Naruto said as he clones rushed in.
"Lightning arc." Ichigo shouted as he swung his blade from one side to the other releasing an arc of lightning. Two of the clones reacted in time to jump over the attack but the other three were hit and dispelled. With the smoke blocking Ichigo's view, Naruto ran through a set of hand signs. "Earth style: head hunter jutsu." Naruto said before sinking into the ground.
The two clones that survived the first attack from Ichigo threw their kunai toward him but they were deflected with the side of Ichigo's blade. Ichigo went through a quick set of one handed seals surprising the on lookers, his blade was then covered in a blue chakra. "Lightning style: Getsuga Tensho." Ichigo swung his blade again this time releasing a wave of bright blue chakra. As the wave of chakra approached the two clones, they jumped over the attack once again causing Ichigo to smirk. Ichigo made a half ram seal and shouted "Expand." The wave blue chakra shot out bolts of lightning dispelling the final two clones.
Ichigo looked around for Naruto but couldn't find him. He felt a rumbling under his feet and looked down just in time for a fist to connect with his chin sending him into the air. Naruto followed after Ichigo and appeared above him making another set of signs. "Wind style: gale palm" Naruto slammed his palm into Ichigo's stomach and launched the boy rocketing back toward the ground landing with a loud thud and Naruto landing shortly after.
"Come on Strawberry, is that the best you got?" Naruto asked.
"You sure you want me to go all out?" Ichigo replied getting a nod from Naruto. Ichigo brought Zangetsu up and held the blade straight out and closed his eyes in concentration. Naruto could feel Ichigo's power increasing and soon, so couldn't everyone else. Ichigo's eyes shot open as he looked directly at Naruto. "Bankai!" The zanpakuto in Ichigo's hand changed into a smaller and slimmer version of the blade being a deep black color.
"This is the kekkei genkai of the Kurosaki clan." Ichigo said.
Naruto could feel the immense power coming off of Ichigo and knew the fight just got a lot harder. Naruto pulled two more kunai from a seal on his wrist and charged at Ichigo. Right as Naruto was about to slash at him, Ichigo vanished from sight. He reappeared behind Naruto and kicked said boy in the back and into the nearby wall. Everyone was amazed at the speed that could very well rival that of Guy and Rock Lee.
Naruto stood with a grin on his face as he channeled chakra into the bands on his wrist and ankles. He felt the weight vanish from his body and looked straight at Ichigo who returned the smile. Both boys vanished from sight in a burst of speed as sounds of metal on metal was heard. Only the more experienced ninja and Sasuke, due to his sharingan, was able to keep up with their movements. Minutes had gone by before the two ninja reappeared, both breathing heavily and sporting cuts across their bodies.
"Seems like we are both just about done Naruto. What do you say, one more move all or nothing?" Ichigo asked.
"Let's go for it." Naruto replied as he began gathering chakra into his palm as it took the form of a small blue orb.
"Kit, are you sure it's a good idea to use your father's jutsu already?" Kurama asked from the seal.
"It'll be alright Kurama, I still have my mokuton that will surprise everybody during the finals." Replied Naruto.
A few of the older ninja were surprised to see the fourth hokage's jutsu being used. Once Naruto finished gathering his chakra, he rushed forward toward Ichigo.
Ichigo stood there and gathered his own energy around his blade as a blue aura surrounded the blade. He knew that if launched the Getsuga Tensho at Naruto he would just dodge it and he would lose. So he decided to do something that he had been training with for a while now. Once he was done, he too rushed towards Naruto.
"Rasengan/ Getsuga Tensho!" the two ninja cried out as the rasengan connected with the energy covered blade. The two ninja began a battle of power as they struggled to force the other back. Ichigo started winning the battle at first. Naruto saw this and called on some of the fox's chakra and began to push back. Slowly, Naruto overpowered Ichigo and launched him flying across the room and into the wall knocking him unconscious.
Hayate moved to check on Ichigo and then declared Naruto the winner as medics came to take Ichigo away. Naruto jumped back up next to his team and was immediately tackled into a hug by Ino.
"Way to go Naru-kun. Now Kiba just has to win his match and the whole team ten makes it to the finals." Ino said with a smile getting a nod from the other two members of team ten.
The next few fights were either pretty boring or just ended to fast. Lee was against one of the other Konoha ninja named Yoroi. As soon as the matched started, Yoroi's hand was covered in chakra as he grabbed Lee's arm and tried absorbing his chakra. Once he figured out Lee didn't use chakra, Lee quickly put an end to the fight. Gaara faced off against one of the sound ninja named Dosu. Dosu got one lucky hit when he launched a sound wave at Gaara, which managed to get past the sand wall. As soon as Gaara was hit, his immediately starting attacking Dosu and before anyone could stop him, he had killed the sound ninja.
Chouji lost his fight to Haku, due to not wanting to hurt a fellow Konoha ninja. Seeing that the boy wasn't going to do much, Haku quickly launched a few senbon at him knocking him out. The most interesting fight would have to have been the one between the two weapon users. Tenten and Kirito both gave it their all, but in the end Kirito proved to be just a bit better than the weapon mistress of Konoha.
"Will the final two constants please come down?" Hayate asked in between coughs. Kiba with Akamaru on his head and Temari jumped over the railing and stood across from each other. Hayate told them to begin before moving out of the way. Kiba set Akamaru on the ground beside him as Temari pulled her fan off her back.
Kiba went through a set of hand signs. "Ninja art: beast human clone." In a puff of smoke, Akamaru was transformed into a copy of Kiba. Kiba then went through another set of hand signs. "Ninja art of beast mimicry: all fours technique." Kiba suddenly began to look more feral as dropped to all fours next to the transformed Akamaru.
Kiba and Akamaru both rushed in with theirs claws held back ready to strike. Temari just smirked as she jumped over the duo and swung her fan down. "Wind style: great breakthrough." A powerful blast of wind shot out from her fan and impacted with Kiba and Akamaru planting them in the floor. They slowly picked themselves up and rushed in once again.
This time, they began to spin and the two took on the form of large drills. "Fang over fang!" Kiba shouted as he and Akamaru closed in on Temari. Temari once again dodged the attack and thought she was safe. However once she turned around, she only had time to bring up her fan to block Kiba and Akamaru as they crashed into the fan pushing Temari backwards.
Kiba stopped spinning and made another set of hand signs. "Fire style: fireball jutsu." Kiba blew a fireball from his mouth that was headed straight for Temari. Temari batted the fireball away and took a moment to catch her breath, holding out against the fang over fang had used up quite a bit of chakra to coat her fan to keep the attack from doing too much damage.
She focused a large part of her chakra into her fan and swung the fan upwards. At first nothing happened, but then the wind started to pick up. "Wind style: great task of the dragon!" Temari shouted as a large tornado slammed down on top of Kiba and Akamaru covering them in cuts all over their bodies. After the tornado died down, Temari gave off a smirk thinking she had won and started to walk away.
"Where are you going? We ain't done yet." Kiba said as he and Akamaru, now back to his original form, crawled out of the hole the tornado made.
Kiba and Akamaru both started running at the sand kunoichi before they jumped and started flipping through the air. They spun faster and faster until the two looked like two large saws rolling across the floor. "Fang rotating fang." Kiba and Akamaru proceeded attack Temari over and over as she tried to defend herself. With the final attack, they launched Temari straight into the air.
As she flew through the air, she swung her fan to try and knock the ninja and dog out. "Wind style: great breakthrough!" she yelled as she swung her fan with all the chakra she had left. Kiba saw this and smirked as he made his own set of hand signs. "Fire style: flaming fang over fang." Kiba's hand and Akamaru's paws were covered in flames as they began to spin toward Temari.
The spinning duo made contact with Temari's attack which only added fuel to the flames and caused them to become larger. Kiba and Akamaru made contact with Temari's body causing her to cry out in pain from the attack as she landed on the ground.
Hayate called the match in favor of Kiba and had medics take Temari away. After she was gone, he called the other victors back down to stand in front of the hokage.
"You all have done well to make it this far in the exams. In exactly one month's time, the finals will take place to determine if any of you have what it takes to become chunin. Anko has a box with numbers that will determine who your opponent will be during the finals." Hiruzen said as Anko walked around the genin and they drew their numbers with Ibiki writing them down.
"1" Sasuke said.
"7" Haku said waiting to see who her opponent would be.
"12" Gaara stated in his monotone voice.
"5" Naruto said happily.
"6" Ino said just as happily as her boyfriend.
"8" Neji said with an arrogant smirk.
"3" Shino stated as he pushed up his glasses.
"2" Kirito said.
"10" Kankuro said.
"9" Kiba said with Akamaru adding in his own bark.
"4" Shikamaru said placing his hands back in his pockets.
"11" Rock Lee said a little too loud with his nice guy pose.
Ibiki took a few minutes before holding up the paper he was writing on for the genin to see. "The first match will be Sasuke vs. Gaara. Second will Naruto vs. Neji. The third fight will be Shino vs. Kankuro. The fourth will Shikamaru vs. Kiba, the fifth will be Kirito vs. Rock Lee and the final fight will be Ino vs. Haku."
The winner of round one and two will face each other in the next round, and the winners of three and four, then five and six. The finals for the three victors of the semi-finals will be a free-for-all between the three finalists." Ibiki finished explaining.
"Everyone has a month to go and train for their matches in the finals. Use this time to train and study your opponents to make your villages proud. You are all dismissed." Hiruzen said as everyone began to leave.
This isn't as long as my other chapters but I hope it will do until I can get more time to write. I have been stuck working almost 60 hour work weeks for the past few weeks. I will get another chapter out as soon as I can. I hope you all enjoyed and don't forget to leave a review.
