animepup: and I am SOOOOO SORRY about not uploaded a chapter for December. It was just end of school, family visiting, shopping, and all that stuff.

Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon, just Yuki and Mizumon (this should be obvious by now, but ima just put this here so I don't get sued or something)

RECAP:

"I finally…got my…beast spirit…" Kouji mumbled, then his eyes rolled back and he lost his grip. But before he could fall, a hand shot out and grabbed his arm. It was Gotsumon!

"You've gotten the legendary spirit, you've finally done it! You're a hero now, so don't give up!"

"Yeah, alright." Kouji smiled, "Are ya gunno let me up?" Gotsumon chuckled and pull him up. As soon as he was far enough away from the cliff edge, I rushed forward and without thinking, tackled him in a hug.

"Yuki…*cough* can't…*hack* breathe!"

"Ack, sorry!" I leaped back as soon as I realized what I was doing. I could feel my face heat up, but I couldn't stop smiling. Kouji's face also kinda red, but I'm guessing it was because I was squeezing the life out of him.

"Hey Kouji! You're spirit looked awesome but went kinda crazy!" Takuya shouted, grinning. Tomoki, Izumi and Junpei were close behind him, and they were all smiling.

"Oh yeah? I can't wait to see YOUR beast spirit!" Kouji said sarcastically, but he too, was smiling. I laughed, despite what we lost today, we gain a lot too. Though we were all bruised and tired, everyone was still in one piece, and that was all that mattered right now.

I sighed as I leaned back against a tree. Man, it sure feels peaceful after that whole ordeal with Grottomon/Gigasmon and Kouji's beast spirit and what not. Only downside was… I took out my digivice, stared at the fuzzy screen and sighed again. Hearing me sigh, Kouji glanced at me with an unreadable expression.

"We were saved because Kouji evolved into Garummon but…" Neemon summarized, then immediately got distracted by a little digimon and started playing with it.

"But it was a total defeat for the rest of us." Bokomon finished.

"I'm really sorry…It was because of me that…" Tomoki trailed off and stared at the ground. Why did he…oh right, the others filled me in earlier.

"That's not true, it wasn't your fault Tomoki." Izumi gave him a small smile.

"Next time I see that guy, I'll make sure to get Izumi-chan's spirit back!" Junpei declared.

"You sure you should make promises you can't keep?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Have you forgotten the beating you took last time?!" Bokomon exclaimed.

"Hey! That wasn't a promise, it was encouragement!" Junpei replied indignantly.

"Oh, so it was all talk?" Takuya rolled his eyes as he stood up,

"Anyway, all we can do now is head for the Forest Terminal."

"Wait a second…then…what about Izumi-chan's spirit?!" Junpei leaped up,

"We can't just leave it like this!" Man, this is starting to get irritating… Junpei then turned back to Izumi,

"We can't keep running away. Let's plan this carefully and get it back! If we work together, I'm sure that-"

"Well, if you're going on that suicidal mission, don't count on me helping." I muttered.

"What is with that attitude? You should think about how Izumi-chan feels! How would you like it if you lost YOUR spirit!" Junpei shouted. My anger flared at his comment and I jumped up to defend myself, but before I could snap at him, Kouji beat me to it.

"Yuki lost her spirit." Junpei's face instantly changed into a confused expression, but I just turned around to glare at Kouji. Why did he have to tell them? I could have made up some random excuse. I'd rather have them think I'm rude than weak. Ugh, why did he have to tell them that I was now powerless?

"Wait, you don't have your spirit?" Takuya cut in, and earned a death glare from me. Well, no shiz Sherlock.

"W-well then you should understand how it feels to not have your spirit! But of course, I guess you wouldn't feel sympathy for anyone!" You, Junpei, are REALLY getting on my nerves. I fumed and lunged forward just to have a hand grab my arm and pull me back. I looked back and glared daggers at Kouji, but he just stared at me sternly, tightened his grip on my arm and shook his head.

"Junpei, that's enough!" Takuya stepped forward, putting himself between me and Junpei. His back was to me, so I couldn't read his expression.

"Let's go to the Forest Terminal." Izumi said suddenly, breaking the tension and possibly stopping me from tackling Takuya out of the way and biting Junpei's head off.

"Izumi-chan, what are you saying?" Junpei gasped, unaware to the fact that I was still glaring at him.

"Wait, wait!" Bokomon cut in,

"Takuya-han and the other's opinions are quite reasonable. However, Junpei-han's opinion is based on his feelings for his friends. *ahem* How about you leave this issue to me?" We stared at her in confusion.

"Hah?"

"Leave it to you?"

"What do you mean?" Bokomon coughed and put on a very uh… "philosophical" expression.

"Make one side happy and the other side will be unhappy. There will be discontent not matter what option we choose. But there is a way to-" The serious moment was broken when Bokomon tripped and faceplanted into the ground. It would seem that her wisdom led her into a mud puddle.

I let out a small chuckle, the previous anger forgotten. And Kouji finally loosened his grip on my arm.

"-a way to avoid hard feelings." Bokomon finished.

"Again, what do you mean?" Junpei asked, scratching his head.

"Fortune telling." Bokomon answered simply.

"Fortune telling?" We exclaimed as Bokomon led us out of the forest.

"We will ask Shamamon to read our fortune." Bokomon said decisively.

As we entered the town, I noticed row upon row of fortune telling tents. Tons of digimon were milling around, some costumers, and some fortune tellers.

"Step right in! Step right in!"

"Come and I'll read your fortune!"

"Lost item? Someone gone missing? Whatever it is, I will help you!"

"Wow, it's like some tourist site." Tomoki glanced at all the busy digimon everywhere.

"I had my fortune read once." Neemon said out of nowhere. Huh, interesting fact.

"Why would you leave your fortune to these guys?" Junpei huffed, then, a random "fortune teller" appeared beside him and proceeded to uh…. "predict his love life". And shall I mention that said digimon's brain was on the OUTSIDE?! *shudder*

"Hey, pretty gurl~ Care to join me?" An arm snaked around my shoulders and I caught a whiff of sake, blegh. I turned to tell off my molester…and I found myself face to face with a werewolf-like digimon smirking at me.

"Shall I read your fortune?" He lifted my chin up with a clawed hand (paw?). And just when I was preparing to kick him "where the sun don't shine", I was yanked backwards by my hood and I stumbled out of the digimon's arms and into another pair of arms.

"Yuki, let's go." I gasped when Kouji literally picked me up and started walking with me still in his arms. I tried to wiggle out of his iron grip, but struggling seemed futile so I just gave up and allowed myself to become a rag doll.

"Y'know…I could've taken care of that myself. You didn't have to help me." I pouted, but Kouji didn't reply. He just seemed kinda mad…wonder what got him so irritated? Man, I really don't get this guy…

Once we finally caught up to the others, Takuya gave me a weird look and glared at Kouji. For what, I'll never know. But anyways, Kouji finally set me down then Bokomon led us all to a giant stone temple.

"Nee, Bokomon…they're all just frauds." Junpei seemed exasperated at all the "fortune tellers".

"Those are still ignorant. Shamamon is the real fortune teller here. Shamamon! Please read our fortune and tell us whether we should leave or stay." Bokomon addressed a troll/ogre like digimon. It grumbled and growled under its breath, then turned to face us. Takuya, Izumi, Tomoki, and Junpei all gasped and Kouji and I looked at each other, confused.

"I've seen this guy before!" Takuya pointed accusingly at the digimon. I blinked in confusion.

"You're right! He's just like the Goblimon at the Wind Factory!" Izumi exclaimed. The what now? What happened?

"Is he…a bad guy?!" Tomoki asked. Woah woah, don't jump to conclusions so suddenly!

"Uh…did we miss something?" I poked Kouji's shoulder.

"Guess so." He shrugged.

"No, no, no! He's Shamamon!" Bokomon waved her arms around in a panic.

"Shamamon. His job is to convey the divine will. They say he performs a strange dance while shaking his club in the process." My digivice explained and everyone seemed to relax a bit just as Shamamon began his uh…strange dance.

"You better be careful! You will all face many difficulties and obstacles!" Shamamon said between weird chants.

"That's creepy." Takuya said, and Tomoki nodded in agreement.

"Especially you two!" Takuya and Tomoki jumped when Shamamon swung his club at them.

"Your luck is the worst! If you don't deal with it correctly, you may die!" The boys seemed to be getting anxious.

"N-no way!" Tomoki stammered.

"Deal with it? What should we do?" Takuya asked, wide-eyed, but before he could get an answer, the ground started shaking and rumbling beneath us.

"What in the-" I frantically try to maintain my balance.

"Let's get out of here!" Junpei yelled and for once, I truly and whole hearted agreed with him. Everyone sprinted for the exit as bits of ceiling started falling.

"What is that?!" Takuya exclaimed as we all gaped as a giant-turtle-head-rock creature burst up from the ground.

"It's Golemon!" Bokomon answered.

"Grottomon!" I clenched my teeth when I noticed the legendary warrior sitting atop the rock digimon.

"Hahaha! Found you, you little brats!" Grottomon smirked.

"Tch, he sure is persistent." Kouji growled, stepping back into a fighting stance.

"Maybe that reading was right! I wonder what the other things he said meant?" Izumi said. Girl, as much as I love you, now REALLY isn't the time to be trying to decode our fortune reading!

Golemon roared and leaped up, preparing to punch us all into oblivion.

"N-now what?!" Neemon trembled, holding on to Bokomon with his ears pressed back.

"We have no choice but to fight!" Takuya growled,

"I'll get him! Spirit Evolution! Agnimon!"

"Blitzmon!"

"Chakmon!"

"Spirit-"

"Like I would let you!" Grottomon whipped out a jar full of a glowing red powder. He released the powder onto the ground beneath Kouji, a magic circle immediately lit up and Kouji dropped to his knees, frozen in place.

"I-I can't…m-move…"

"Kouji!" I yelled and reached for my digivice, but stopped when I remembered that I couldn't spirit evolve. I clenched my fists, feeling useless.

"You can't evolve if you can't move, boy. So, Garummon is out of service." Grottomon cackled.

Chakmon and Blitzmon leaped at Golemon with their elemental attacks, but it did nothing to the rock digimon. Golemon countered with an air blast that blew Chakmon and Blitzmon back, destroying stone pillars in the process.

"Hahahaha! What's wrong, what's wrong? Is that all you can do?" Grottomon laughed. Ugh, he's mocking us!

This time Agnimon stepped forward,

"Burning Salamander!" But his fire punches were ineffective and he too was blown backwards and smashed into the ground.

"Weak, too weak! And you call yourselves the legendary warriors?" Grottomon roared as the guys struggled to stand back up.

"Damn it! Is watching the only thing I can do?!" I growled under my breath. Bokomon and Neemon were attached to my legs, shivering, and Izumi had a death grip on my arm.

Suddenly, Golemon leaped up and smashed his fist into the ground, creating giant fissures. The force shook the earth and more stone pillars began to collapse.

"Yuki!" Izumi warned as a pillar behind us wobbled.

"Run!" I shouted as we scrambled to get out of the way. The pillar landed with a THUD in the spot where we were standing just a couple seconds ago.

"You ok?" Izumi panted.

"Yeah." I said while trying to catch my breath. A loud roar from Golemon brought our attention back to the battle at hand.

"All at once!" Agnimon ordered.

"I'll go first! Snow Bomber!" Chakmon pulled out his weapon and fired.

"Lightning Bomber!" Blitzmon smashed Golemon in the chest, sending it flying.

"Salamander Break!" Agnimon was the last straw and Golemon was down. It crashed into the ground, sending up a cloud of dust.

"Damn you! Don't get cocky now!" Grottomon jumped up,

"Grottomon, Slide Evolution! Gigasmon!"

"Shall we start the real battle now?" Gigasmon smirked.

"You boast too much!" Chakmon fired his snow bombs at Gigasmon, but was immediately countered by Gigasmon's hurricane bomber. Before Chakmon could escape, the twister engulfed him then spat him back out. The spirit of ice appeared, then it was taken by Gigasmon.

"Tomoki!" I cried as the little boy unDigivolved and fell to the ground.

"That's three down! Now it's your turn! Earthquake!" Gigasmon flipped in the air and smashed his fists into the earth. Just as the ground broke apart, the temple behind us exploded and a red dragon-like digimon flew out. It charged at Gigasmon and sent him flying. It threw its head back and roared like a beast.

Tomoki frantically scrambled up and ran toward us, away from the dragon digimon.

"Wh-what the-" Takuya gasped.

"A new enemy?" Blitzmon braced himself.

"No, that's…the legendary warrior of fire, Vritramon!" Bokomon said.

"Vritramon? Is that Takuya's beast spirit?" I asked in awe.

Suddenly, two giant hands reached up from the ground and latched onto Vritramon's legs.

"That's it, Golemon!" Grottomon cheered. Damn, I thought we already took care of that rock turtle thing.

Golemon started pulling Vritramon down, but it was unfazed. Vritramon unfurled its wings, and rose up into the sky, taking Golemon with it. It fired lasers from its arms, knocking Golemon off. And just like that, the digimon that we had so much trouble with disintegrated into dust.

Vritramon then turned to his next target, Gigasmon, but Gigasmon was smart enough to burrow into the ground and escape.

With Gigasmon gone, Kouji's binding circle was gone too. Now free, Kouji grabbed his digivice and ran toward us.

"He's really strong…" Tomoki said.

"Is he an ally?" Kouji asked.

"I sure hope so…" I replied.

"I can't see him as anything but an evil warrior, but…" Izumi trailed off, uncertain.

"Let's watch from afar." Bokomon ushered us further away.

"Agnimon, what are you doing?!" I spun around at the sound of Blitzmon's voice. Agnimon was slowly approaching Vritramon, but before he could even reach it, it went berserk and burst into flames. Vritramon turned around; whipping its tail, but Agnimon managed to jump out of the way.

"Burning Salamander!" Unfortunately, this did little to Vritramon and it countered with laser bullets that hit dead on. Agnimon crashed to the ground and we all gasped. As Agnimon struggled to get up, Vritramon stomping its claw on top of him and aimed to shoot…but didn't. Using this moment of hesitation, Agnimon kicked Vritramon off and blasted it once more with fire balls. This time, however, he was successful in bringing it down.

"This corrupted, evil soul…this digivice will purify you! Digicode Scan!" Beast spirit removed, the digimon that emerged was…Shamamon?!

Suddenly, Agnimon screamed. Digicode enveloped him, hiding him from our view.

"Agnimon!"

"Takuya-oniichan!"

"Takuya!"

"What's wrong, Takuya?!"

The digicode vanished and in Agnimon's place was…Vritramon?!

"He…evolved!" Neemon gasped.

I could hear Vritramon growling…and a shiver went down my spine. He sounds like a beast…that can't be Takuya!

"Is that…Takuya?!" Izumi exclaimed, unable to believe it either.

Vritramon roared. Flames erupted from his armor. His cry was purely that of a beast.

"Takuya!" I shouted, hoping he would recognize the difference between friend and foe. My body froze when he turned his gaze onto me…and charged.
