[Grace]
As I walked u to the Chemistry door, I peered through the window where I saw Nelson, his back to the door and against a lab table, just playing Furious Pigeons on his iPhone. I sigh at his perfectness as I knock our secret knock: three knocks and a slap on the door.
Nelson turns around, flashes me a smile and starts to walk towards the door, and as he opens it he says, "Hi Grace. Nice dress."
"Thanks! So, what lesson are we talking about now?" I said, flipping through the book.
"Actually, I was wondering if we could just talk today." Nelson said, closing the book.
"Oh, okay." I said, smiling in my head. Nelson…just wants so talk…with me?
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Nelson asked, scooting closer to me.
"Stevie and Zander!" I said out of pure joy and then widened my eyes. "I mean…whatever you want to talk about…ha-ha…" I said awkwardly.
"If you want to talk about the lovely couple, then we can. Did you believe that Zander had the guts to ask Stevie out like that?"
"Yeah, I know. Stevie is really tough to crack sometimes, and before that day, I've never seen her so…happy." I said, dreaming. "I wonder if my Prince Charming will ever do that for me."
"Sorry, I'm a little shy." I widen my eyes, which makes Nelson widen his. "I mean…what I meant was…I'll just leave now." He said, muttering, "I just blew it."
"Nelson, wait! I like you too. Don't leave!" I begged, grabbing his arm and yanking him back to his chair.
"You do? He said, rubbing his arm.
"More than anything." I admitted.
"Well, then. Grace, will you go out with me?" He said, holding a single pink rose in his hand. I widen my eyes and say, "Yes!" Then I take the rose, smell it and then hug Nelson. After a while, I let go and say, "Okay, I really need to study. I have a test tomorrow."
After we finish our study session, we start to go outside when we see Molly. By instead of being dressed in her usual Perfy clothes, she was dressed in a brown vintage shirt, black skinny jeans, and gray Converse shoes. (A/N: Props to Blue Ninja Girl for this idea!)
"What is she doing?" Nelson asked, and then I gasped.
"Remember when Zander said he was into vintage clothes girls?" I gulped.
"Oh no." We just stood there motionless by the door. Molly was waiting by her locker, which was all the way down the hallway. Soon, Zander passed by and took a double take at Molly. Soon they were talking, just talking; Molly was also writing something down on Zander's arm.
Then, they starting leaning towards each other…then they just…stopped.
"Oh no. Oh no. Grace, what do you think they're doing?!" He asked, tugging on my arm, but I just stood silent. Then, all of a sudden, I screamed in a perfect imitation of Stevie, "AAAH! ZANDER!" Then grabbed Nelson and ran into the Chemistry lab, slamming the door, and sitting behind the door, holding my finger to her lips telling him to not make a noise. Soon, we heard running and Zander's voice, calling, "Stevie?!" After he was a pretty far distance away, Nelson asked, "How did imitate Stevie's voice perfectly?"
"I like learning how to imitate people's voices. It's funny to get them in trouble sometimes. I used to do that to Kacey all the time in middle school."
He laughed and helped me up, and we just walked away as if nothing happened…until I ran into Kacey. That's when I told her EVERYTHING.
[Zander]
I was just walking in the hallway during free period when Molly said, "Hey Zander."
"Hi Molly." I said, and then took a double take. Molly was wearing a vintage shirt, jeans, and sneakers.
"Hey, you're just like a Stevie clone, just not as cute." I teased.
"Oh, so you're saying I'm just a little cute?" Molly asked.
"I must say, I'm a little turned on, but Stevie is way better than you." I said, walking up to her locker. She grabbed a blue marker and started to right her number on my right arm, saying, "But I think she wouldn't care about one little kiss, right?"
"I guess you're right." I said, leaning towards her slowly. As she pursed her lips, I got close, then stopped to say, "Too bad I care, isn't Molly?" She opened her eyes and said, "So, I'm not getting my kiss?"
"Nope. These lips belong to Stevie, not some Stevie wannabe."
All of a sudden, I heard Stevie scream, so I took of running. I ran around the whole school before finding her in the band room, working on her laptop.
"How did you get here so fast?" I panted.
"What are you talking about, silly? I was here all free period."
"…So you didn't call me? It sounded just like you!"
"It was probably Grace. She knows how to imitate my voice." She said as she turned to back to her laptop, but then she spotted my arm. She got up from her spot, pointed at my arm and asked, "What is that?"
"Math notes." I lied. But Stevie can tell when I lie, so she grabbed my hands and I covered up the name so she just saw the number.
"Zander, who's number is that?" she asked, but when I didn't answer, she twisted my hand so I fell to my knees. She then pinned me to the floor and her eyes widened. She got off of me and I started, "Stevie-"
"You got Molly's number?!" She questioned.
"No! I mean, yes, but it's not in my phone. I was going to wash it off but then I thought you called me, so I came running for you." She then tossed me a roll of paper towels and said, "Fine. Go wash it off."
"Stevie,"
"What?" she said sharply.
"There are paper towels in the bathroom."
"Whatever. And leave your phone with me. You could put Molly's number while you're in the bathroom."
"You just want to play Temple Run." I said, turning back.
"No! Maybe." she admitted and I couldn't help but smirk.
[Stevie]
I was almost about to beat my high score when Zander got a message from Kevin, making me pause in the middle of a jump.
"This better be good, Kevin." I grumbled as I opened the text.
It read:
"Bro, I thought you cared about Stevie!"
Confused, I texted back:
"What are you talking about?"
"This…?" Then a picture popped up, showing Zander, whose face was really close next to Molly's. I gasped.
"Alright Stevie, I'm back. Did you beat your high score yet?" With tears in my eyes, I threw Zander's phone at him and just flopped on the couch.
"Stevie, are you-"
"Just look at your phone!" Zander unlocked his phone and when he saw the picture, he said, "Steves, it's not what you think."
"THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAID. That's what Kacey's boyfriend said when he kissed another girl in 8th grade. That's what my uncle said to my when he was caught cheating with his ex-wife. That's what they all say, and they don't mean it."
"Stevie-"
"I TRUSTED YOU. You know what; don't ever talk to me again." I said, pushing past Zander. He tried grabbing my hand but I swatted him away, so he just picked me up and pinned me to the wall.
"Stevie, I still love you. I wasn't going to kiss Molly."
"Then what were you going to do?" I said, tears spilling out of my eyes.
"I really wasn't going to kiss her. But you won't believe me anyways." He said after a minute, and then let me go. I ran out of there as fast as I can to the cafeteria, where I just sat there, about to cry again.
Justin sat next to me and said, "Okay. Molly's making me do this again, so, here goes." He said, but it sounded way less self-absorbed than I remember. "Hey Stevie, did I ever tell you that you were very beautiful?" Then he held his hands up as if I was going to hit him. But instead, I turned to him and said, "Thanks."
He looked through his arms and said, "You're welcome. Hey, I know this is a long shot, but will you go to the homecoming dance with me?"
I smiled, remember that Zander and I are technically not together anymore, and said, "I'd love to."
"But…aren't you with Zander?"
"It's complicated." I said, not wanting to say that we broke up.
"Oh." Then, on the back of the piece of paper he was holding, he wrote down his number and said, "Call me." before walking away. I stared at the paper, and decided to go rub it in Zander's face.
To my surprise, he was still in the band room, playing doodle jump on his phone.
"Hey Zander, just to let you know, I won't be able to go with you to the dance; I'm going with Justin."
"Really?" He said without looking up from his phone. "Well, I'm going with Molly."
-Hold it Down-
DUN. DUN. DUN. WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN?! This is a very depressing chapter, and I'm sorry that I had to add it in. I'm just a person who likes those romance/drama novels. Do you think Zevie is done forever, or will their love blossom into a beautiful orchid? Tell me in your reviews!
