Rhodey and Snoopy slowly crept along the hallway.

Rhodey spotted another man "Hey!"

The man froze. When Rhodey and Snoopy got up close they recognized a uniform.

Rhodey said "Sorry man we thought you where the suspect."

"He's in there." The guy pointed with his gun "I've got em trapped."

Rhodey nodded "You go get help and we'll take care of him."

The guy nodded and ran off.

Rhodey turned to Snoopy "On three...One...Two...THREE!"

They burst down the door to discover Jack a rookie cop bound and gagged minus his uniform.

Snoopy's eyes rolled into the back of her head "Crud."

Estel Johnson the director had gathered all the cops in the Concurrence room. She was a tiny women with black hair and large eyes with a touch of a Scottish accent. She was also very angry.

Estel yelled "What the HECK was this? A guy manages to get in here, murder the only suspect who KNOWS something, knock out our forensics specialist, and fool the best cops on the force and escape!"

Everybody stared at her.

Estel rubbed her forehead "I'm sorry guys its not really your fault. Apparently whoever did this had enough planning to pass a background check and he managed to steal a weapon from the evidence room."

Lee added "In the cart we found a bottle of water and rat poison so that was probably the original plan but the gun must have seemed like a better idea."

Estel shook her head "Any questions?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"Good now get lost."

Rhodey was knocking his head against the steering wheel "Stupid, Stupid, STUPID!"

Snoopy knocked on the window "Uh Rhodey? Can you give me a ride home?"

He opened the door "Hop on in we can be stupid together!"

"Oh Rhodey don't be like that it was an honest mistake."

"He got away Snoopy! He escaped and I fell for the whole cop act hook and line!"

Snoopy scowled "I was there too James its just as much my fault as yours."

Rhodey sighed "I know. Maybe I should resign."

"No! It was a mistake and Estel recognizes that." Snoopy said

"I'm an idiot."

"Smile."

Rhodey stared "What?"

Snoopy said "Smile for me." Her arms where crossed across her chest.

Rhodey smiled falsely "Smiling."

"A real smile."

Rhodey gave her a look "I don't feel like it."

Snoopy gave him a pointed look"That's why you should and your comin to my house for dinner."

"What? No!"

"You have any social plans?"

"That's a low blow Ramatu."

Snoopy said "Besides Mama's worried about how much you eat."

Rhodey sighed "Your mom is trying to kill me."

"She likes you. You remind her of her brother."

"Which is why she's trying to kill me."

Snoopy gave him a glare.

"Fine."

Rhodey scowled "I hate you."

"Yeah sure."

Snoopy's mom came out "Rhodey!"

She squeezed him so hard he thought his ribs cracked "Hi Mrs Ba."

She put him down "Come in! Come in!"

Rhodey took off his shoes and glared at Snoopy who was snickering "Shaddup."

Odie the man who helped raise Snoopy came out "Ah Rhodey your here! I'm glad Snoopy twisted your arm hard enough to get you to come!"

"You knew about this?"

"Oh yes! I miss you ya know but I guess your too cool to hang out with crippled old man."

"Thats not true!" Rhodey protested.

Odie smiled "I'm teasin you of course. Come on lets eat."

Odie listened to the details of the case "Seems to me whoever did this was tryin to protect the little girl."

Rhodey gulped down the food "Yup. Boy this is good Mrs Ba."

Mrs Ba smiled "Thank you."

Snoopy asked "Have any theories Papa?"

"I think I might. Does the girl have an uncle, a grandfather, maybe a teacher who would do this?"

Rhodey thought "Come to think of it Whitney does have a brother but I don't see..."

Odie raised an eyebrow "You don't? Well lemme point out that most male relatives wouldn't be fond of somebody who beat there grandbaby/Niece or nephew. I used to work in Homicide and I saw a few cases where the relative would shoot the in-law for beating their children or wife although they weren't nearly as smart as this guy."

Rhodey nodded "Maybe we had better question her brother."

"Maybe."

Rhodey helped clean up and left "See you Odie and Mrs Ba. Thanks for twisting my arm Snoops."

"Anytime."
