Chapter 9:

"Korra, what are you doing?" Tonroq shouted at his daughter.

"I'm not going to let you hurt him, dad," the teen replied, looking at her father with fury and fear of what could happen to Mako

"Korra, do you realize what he's done?! He ruined your life! Your Future!"

"No, I did!" Korra shouted, "He tried to say no, but I persuaded him that night. None of this is his fault!" Tears were coming to her eyes. Tonroq stared in disbelief, dropping the water and freeing Mako.

"You chose this?"

"Not on purpose. We were celebrating a big win. We were druck and made a mistake. I made a mistake. I've accepted the consequences of that choice, and, you know, for a little while, I was excited. I am excited for this baby ad since Mako's here, why don't you listen to what he has to say first. I'm taking Naga out. Don't come after me, dad. I'll be back late." Korra explained through a tight throat both relieved that Mako was safe, yet scared of what both men would think of her and what they would do. She spun around and bolted to the stables where Naga would be waiting. Hot tears rolled down her face, freezing as they fell to the snow covered ground. Mako started after her. He took a few steps and turned to look at Tonroq.

"I came back to help her, and make up for how things were left in Republic City. It's my child as well and my responsibility. Just because this happened doesn't mean our lives are ruined, and it you think that then I am positive you are going to lose not only your daughter but your grandchild as well." Mako turned without another word and sprinted after Korra, hoping to catch up with her.

Tonroq turned to his wife, who had less than a pleased look on her face as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"What?"

"Was it really necessary to go off like that? She is an adult now, you know."

"Senna, she is just a child, how can she support a child of her own? Are you saying you approve of this behavior?" The man struggled to keep his voice calm, knowing he was in he wrong.

"I don't approve of what she did, but it happened. Do you not remember? Korra came the same way. She made the same mistake we make almost nineteen years ago! Are you saying you'd take it all back if you could? We made it perfectly fine, who is to say she won't. What I saw today was our only child, coming to us for support and help, only to be disgraced and belittled by her father.

Tonroq stayed silent, unable to come up with a comeback, and feeling guilty for his aggression towards Mako and his little girl.

~With Mako~

"Korra! Korra, where are you?" Mako called. A snow storm had moved in, dropping the visibility to zero. He had nothing to go by. If only he had been able to catch up before she left. "Korra!" he yelled again. He listened for any sound that would reveal his love. A distant howl pierced the air. "Naga?" Mako called. He listened once more. Another howl surrounded his ears, louder this time. It was Naga, and she was coming toward him, fast. Within a minute, he could see her. He looked for her owner on her back, and was terrified at what he saw.
