A/N: Update 10

"I'm so glad you found me, Peter," Nibs said, his voice was muffled in my shirt.

"Me, find you? Nibs, I think it's more you found me," I said choking back tears. "I'm so, so sorry for everything. I didn't realize until now how much my leaving would hurt you. I never would have imagined that you would be kidnapped by Captain Hook."

Nibs pulled away. "I missed you, Peter."

"I missed you too, Nibs. Now, you have to tell me, what's going on? How did you end up with Hook? Does Hook treat you okay? You're not hurt or anything are you? " I started talking faster and faster.

"Whoa, slow down!" Nibs shushed me. "We're fine. Smee tends to keep Hook in check."

I sighed in relief. At least I knew that Hook was being somewhat civil. "If Hook kidnapped you, why do you guys seem so okay with it?"

"You want the truth?" Nibs said. "He kidnapped us in Neverland, a place that 'doesn't exist.' Winnie and I were orphans. Hook adopted us, and is technically mine and Winnie's legal guardian. Plus, he's really not so bad. I think being a father figure has kind of chilled him out a bit. He actually cares for us, it's crazy, but I really do think that Hook loves us as his children. We've had so many adventures. We've seen the world. Hook is actually a pretty fantastic dad. Plus, it's nice to have a family. But I do have to warn you, it's no coincidence that we moved in next door. Hook is out to get you. He believes you are the key to eternal life or something."

"Nibs, that doesn't make any sense. Look at me. I'm sixteen years old. I've aged. There's no such thing as magic here on the Mainland," I shook my head in disbelief.

"Peter, ever since you left, the island has been dying. Everyone there is aging. You must have something to do with it. I think you yourself have stopped believing, and that's why the magic doesn't work," Nibs began to clarify.

Nibs was right. I had begun to drift away from my past life. Magic was becoming a thing of my childhood. Since I left, I'd been focused on finding Wendy. After a while, I guess I had started to give up, and the magic must have stopped working.

"I'm sorry, Nibs. I guess I've been so focused on finding Wendy that I've forgotten what's always been important to me: my lost boys. You boys have been my life, and I sometimes I can't believe that I ever left. I'm always so worried about all of you. I've just got to find Wendy though. I haven't stopped thinking about her since I returned her back to London. I don't expect you to understand, because you're just a boy, but I just need to find her, Nibs. I've got to," I sighed.

"Hook would kill me if he knew I was telling anyone this, let alone you, so you can't tell anyone," Nibs held out his pinkie. "Do you pinkie swear?"

I smiled. It was just like Nibs to take a pinkie swear so seriously. I nodded as we locked pinkies. "I swear, I won't tell anyone."

Nibs took a deep breath and looked around to make sure no one was listening in. "Winnie, as you know, was kidnapped by Hook in Neverland. He found her wandering around the beach. She was extremely tired and dehydrated. I'm not actually sure on the whole story, because Hook had yet to kidnap me. But, anyway, I was told that she was very confused. She didn't know who she was, or how she got to Neverland. Hook knew who she was though. That's why he kidnapped her. He figured he could use her to lure you to him. Peter, Winnie is Wendy Darling."

I stood there stunned. No words would come out of my mouth. My face started to burn with anger. Was Winnie just playing me in order to lure me to Hook? Or did she still not know who she was?

"Peter?" Nibs asked quietly. "Are you okay? I know it's a lot to take in. But believe me: I had nothing to do with it. The only reason Hook kidnapped me was because he thought I would know where you were."

"You told him where I was?" I tensed getting angry. I could feel my ears redden with rage.

"No, no! I had no idea where you were. Hook threatened me with my life. All I told him was that you had left to find Wendy. That was why he took us and sailed around the world. He thought that maybe I would know where you were, so he dragged me along," Nibs replied, shaking. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have told him anything, but I was so scared."

"No, Nibs. Don't be sorry. You did the right thing. I can't imagine how I would live with myself knowing that you were dead. You're like my little brother. I'm just upset about Winnie, I mean Wendy. How could she play my like this? I thought we were really hitting it off, you know, back when I thought she was Winnie."

"Wendy still doesn't remember anything," Nibs explained. "She is only doing what Hook tells her to do. She doesn't know any better."

After hearing this, I sighed in relief, but then grew sad. If Wendy had no memory of her past, that means she doesn't remember me. All those adventures we shared as kids were gone. And to make matters worse, she's just using me. Granted she is only doing what Hook tells her to do, but she's just stringing me along. All the flirting and holding hands was a lie. And that kiss. It just about kills me.

"So she's just using me?" I asked feeling a knot form in my throat.

"Actually," Nibs replied. "Winnie was telling me, after you left, that she really truly likes you. She doesn't understand why Hook told her to befriend you, but she's really glad she did. She wouldn't stop talking about you."

I smiled and stood a little straighter. This was something that I was used to. It's nice to know that even though Wendy doesn't remember me, I still have my charm. Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad. If I really got to know her, I bet soon enough something would come of it.

I must have had goo-goo eyes or something, because Nibs was staring at me with a disgusted face. "Ugh, teenagers. Don't you get all mushy on me. Wendy's doing the same thing. 'He has the cutest ears, Nate. He's so nice, Nate. He kissed me, Nate.' Blech!" Nate imitated. "She really needs to get some girlfriends,"

I blushed; she told him about the kiss. It didn't seem like a big deal. It was just a quick little kiss. I definitely felt a spark, and if she felt it too, then it had to mean something.

"I have to talk to her. Maybe we can be just like it used to be," I exclaimed.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Nibs stated. "Peter, she doesn't remember who she is. She doesn't remember ever meeting you in Neverland. You can't just pick up where you left off. You can't mention this to her, Peter. It will confuse her and potentially ruin everything."

"Ruin everything? What does that mean? Maybe I can help her remember. They say that forgotten memories can potentially be remembered with the help of close friends and family. I could help her Nibs, I really believe I can."

"No, Peter. I don't think that's a good idea. I've told you too much already. You can't tell anybody anything that I've told you tonight. If Hook finds out I told you, then I'm as good as dead. Remember to watch your back. Hook could make a move at any second."

"Got it. Don't tell anyone. Wendy is confused. Watch my back. Anything else?" I teased.

"Ha, ha, very funny. See ya later," Nibs left quickly.

"Bye, Nibs," I called as I headed back into my house.

I suddenly felt very tired. It was incredibly late. School would be rough tomorrow. I crept up the stairs, avoiding the creeks so as not to wake anyone up. I reached my bedroom and closed the door. All that was on my mind was my head hitting my pillow so that I could finally get some shut eye.

I turned around and saw Hook standing in front of me. He whacked me on the head with my lucky baseball bat and the last thing I heard before passing out was Hook saying, "Sweet dreams, Peter Pan!"
