She sits on the old couch with her brother. They have a large metal mixing bowl between them, filled with popcorn.

It's a Thursday night, and there's nothing else to do besides stay in or go down to beach and drink with the local delinquents. Seth had tossed up the options before letting out a grin and sprawling over the couch with his sister.

"How's patrol anyway, squirt?"

Seth looks highly offended at the pet name considering he's at least twice her size. "You wouldn't believe the shit I have to put up with. Jacob and Embry are at each other's throats almost every day. Even Sam had to step in the other day before one of them killed the other."

She narrows her eyes. That would explain why Embry hadn't been around to see her. "I don't want Embry to-"

"It's not just over you," her brother tells her as he shoves another handful of popcorn in his mouth. "It's the other thing."

Leah leans forward, covering the popcorn so her brother can't shove anymore down his throat. "What other thing?"

Seth raises a brow at her. "You don't know?"

"Know what?"

"I thought for sure Embry would have told you."

"Seth-" she growls.

Seth wipes a hand over his face, unsure if he should tell her. When she threatens to eat all the popcorn and not share anymore, he caves.

"Billy is Embry's father. They're half-brothers, Lee. Jacob is fucking furious, even more so than before. Embry is pissed too. Over that. Over the stuff between you and Jacob."

Leah feels like her breathing stops. "Brothers?"

Her own brother nods, before snatching the bowl from her grasps. "Yep."

Something dawns on Leah. "Seth - Embry is older."

He nods, "Herein lies the biggest problem. If we consider the birth right - Embry is supposed to be Alpha, not Jake."
