Chapter 10: Light VS Darkness
Previously, a full-scale assault on the shadow tribes was initiated for our heroes to make their move. Each of them faced an obstacle and now, Laval is facing a very dark and dangerous one...
Laval and Dragemperor pit themselves against each other as they made their move. The power of light and darkness collided with each other as they engaged in combat. "Chima shall be mine to rule in eternal darkness!"
"No! This land shall be cleansed by light!"
"NO! It will be consumed by darkness! Skull Blast!" Firing skull shaped dark blasts, Laval dodged all of it. "You gotta do more than that loser!" He taunted. Dragemperor just ignored the taunt as he drew out a blaster and fired. Laval blocked all the shots and charged to slash him but he phased through leaving a mirror image for Laval to slash. "One of my darkest tricks of illusions!" Dragemperor then kicked Laval and he nearly fell but got a hold of himself. "I am invincible! I am unbeatable! I am superior and I will rule Chima in eternal darkness for eternity!" Dragemperor laughed tyrannically as he believed that his duel with Laval will be short and easy...
Back to the others, they're doing good. Gorzan and Bladvic danced their way annoying the hellhound twins so much that even though they used their hand-to-hand combat, they were danced down by them. In the next room, Unicode and Serpentron are still battling as they clashed using any array of weapons on their gear. Outside, Eris and Rogon got separated from Pegastorm and Pegasurge so they decided to take command outside. Leading several Crawlers and Mythical warriors, they plan to free the stone captives. "But how do we do that?" Eris wondered. "A Flash grenade and liberty it is." Rogon answered as he threw one at a group of stone warriors. A single flash crumbled the outer stone and the group of animal warriors are free. "C'mon guys! For Chima!" Eris did a battle cry as they joined the battle.
While this was going on, Worriz and Hellberus continued shooting, Razar and Dravastator continued brawling and Cragger is struggling to fight Dracrosis. "Say hello to my special elite warriors. The Dragon Sorcerer Squadron!" Soon enough, 5 dragons wearing cloaks warped in and fired energy blasts from their staffs. However, Cragger used their attack to his advantage by dodging them all and they destroy the cage freeing Li'ella. "Thanks!" She and Cragger then chi-ed up. Dracrosis and his elites did the same thing and they clashed with light on one side and darkness on the other except that it's magic.
Back at the top, "See the battle? It's hopeless! Even if they teamed up to stop us, it's worth nothing! It's useless. USELESS! AHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Says the dragon emperor who never watched his footing!" Laval got a grip and jump kicked him off. He then fired a laser beam but he dodged and fired a soul bomb hitting him. In response, Laval used his laser eyes as the laser struck him and then, they fired powerful blasts in which they collided and started pushing onto the left and right repeatedly. "I see we are equally matched based on our power but still...YOU"RE WEAK! The powers of darkness is greater than the powers of light!"
"That's because of your corruption and your evilness that has done much damage on Chima!"
"LIES! ALL LIES! We were once rulers before but after our exile, we shall retake what is rightfully ours!"
"Your reign was dark and corrupt! Why succumb to it's power to rule Chima?"
"It is fate and destiny that the Shadow Tribes rule Chima! Now DIE!" Dragemperor unleashed more power as his blast grows stronger pushing back Laval. Laval tried to hold on but the dark power is too great. Fortunately, Laval threw a flash grenade at his face cutting off his attack. When he regained his sight after a few seconds, he looked around. Laval was nowhere to be sighted. "COME OUT AND FIGHT YOU WEAKLING! SHOW YOURSELF AT ONCE FOR YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!"
"Well that's true!" he looked up and Laval made his move by punching his face. "Clever trick but it lacks power like this. CHAOS BEAM!" He fired his devastating lethal dark beam but Laval dodged it. "HA! I wasn't even aiming at you!" Laval turned to see that the attack hit the Galaxy Nova! There, "We've been hit!" A Pegasus reported. "Then we hit em back! Kinetic Shot!" Pegastar fired a ricocheting light energy blasts that hit 5 battlecruisers critically.
Inside the Dark Tartarus, "General Dragonis. We lost Black Hand, Chaos Riser, Dark Crusader, Skull Storm and Grave Danger."
"It doesn't matter for our numbers are still strong. Push on! For the Dragon Emperor!" Dragonis led the army to battle in the emperor's flagship and at the same time at the entrance of the temple, Worriz and Hellberus went out and continued their crossfire while down there, Eris, Rogon and several warriors are freeing stone prisoners group by group as more flash grenades are being thrown and flashed out. Even the Legend Beasts are free and are now crushing some shadow warriors. Nearby, a group of stone prisoners were liberated and among them are Lagravis and Crominus. "Wha...what happened?" a confused and dazed Lagravis asked. "I...I don't know." Crominus replied when Serpendusa and her cohorts saw them. "NOOOO! My precious-s-s-s collection! It's ruined!" She hissed in horror as Serpendra and Serpensilisk did nothing but watch their leader hiss in rage. "What are you numbs-s-s-skulls waiting for? Reclaim my collection! Turn these ins-s-s-solent fools-s-s-s into motionless-s-s-s works-s-s-s of art!" She hissed in demand. "Yes-s-s-s! Mi'lady!" Joining her, all 3 of them lunged towards Lagravis and Crominus as they prepare for the counterattack when, "KICK!" All 3 serpents were kicked onto the walls of the temple defeated and it turns out to be...

"SCORM?!" Both leaders were speechless over what he did when he took out 2 white chis and giving them, "Like what your son taught me before, use it well, use it wisely." He recited as Scutter reported. "We gotta back the spider tribe. They are stuck in their web from the enemy." Scorm nodded as he lead his tribe to aide the others leaving Lagravis and Crominus to take command of the other chima warriors to fight back. "I wonder what has got into him?" Crominus asked Lagravis. "Beats me but I know he's against them." They then beat up a shark and hellhound.
Back inside the temple, Razar and Dravastator are still brawling. "This is where it ends for you reeking raven!"
"Reek my friend? No wonder you reek of darkness."
"True."
"And from your armpits and butt."
"So you're telling me that I STINK?"
"Very bad. As bad as bad egg which is rotten and horribly foul."
"AAARRRGGGHHH! YOU MADE ME LOSE FACE! YOU MADE A FOOL OUT OF MYSELF! TIME TO BREAK YOUR WINGS PERMANENTLY!" Dravastator delivered punches and kicks on Razar's wins breaking him down. "Now you shall taste darkness after I break you and then, the dragon emperor will feast upon your feathers!"
"Okay my friend you win."
"That's what I want to hear." He picked the raven by the neck when, "KICK!"
"MY BISCUITS! AAAHHHHH!"
"Not too observant are you my friend?"
WHAT? Don't tell me..." Then, Razar first kicked him, next, he delivered a flying kick, then, he used a flash kick. "ARGH! I'm blinded by the flashing light! AAAHHHHH!" Dravastator cried out as he stumbled back. Razar walked towards him. "Well my friend. Have a nice trip." He then flicked his face sending him down from the temple to the temple grounds defeated. There, the Beaver Tribe was still being enslaved by Hellthrus and his other Hellhound followers when, "KSH!" A dragon fell on him and he was like, "OW! How dare you crush me! Get off me you big lump of rotten dragon stinker!" The other hellhounds laughed when, "We're free! Now let's fix it! Fix it!"
"Uh-oh." Uh-oh it is because the beavers began to fight for the first time and they even managed to find a stockpile of Chima vehicles that are still damaged but they got to work immediately.
Back at the temple, "Attack my Necromancers! For the dragon emperor!" The necromancers used dark spells like shadow spheres and shadow waves to attack Cragger and Li'ella. "Have you ever encountered such dark magic?"
"No Cragger but these guys are too OP. We got to...that's it!"
"What?" Li'ella just used her powers of light and fire and started to combine them. Cragger seeing this did the same thing. Dracrosis could just scoff. "Foolish, blind heretics! Nothing can save you and defeat me! Necromancers, finish them in the name of the dragon emperor!" The necromancers each fired a dark blast from their magical staff but, "NOW!" Combining fire and light, Li'ella and Cragger unleashed the combined elemental powers onto all 5 of them defeating them. Dracrosis was flabbergasted. "It can't be! My elites were easily knocked out?!"
"Oops. So much for dark magic."
"You heretics will pay with blood for the Dragon Emperor! RAH! DOOM BOLT!" He fired his barrage of dark bolts from his staff. Li'ella and Cragger dodged them all as a enraged Dracrosis drew in more dark energy by swinging his staff. "Taste the power of my dark magical power! Shadow Disc!" The faster he swung his staff, the more dark energy he's drawing out and soon enough, he created a dark energy disc that he fired at them. It somehow can cut through anything as it slice through the wall and it sliced a starfighter that flew by. "Lethal and deadly!" described Cragger as Dracrosis threw out more discs at them. "It's over for you! I will have your heads and the dragon emperor will be appeased! Doom Bolt!" Dracrosis fired more dark bolts but Cragger and Li'ella deflected them back onto him. "AH!" He was hit and pissed. "How dare you attack the most powerful dark dragon sorcerer in this world! You shall all pay! With blood and skulls for the dark gods!" An enraged Dracrosis fired his dark magic from his dark, magical staff while Cragger and Li'ella fired their combined elemental powers. Both sides clashed until Dracrosis realized something. "It can't be...my powers are...AAAHHHHH!" He got blasted off and was on the ground defeated. "Nice! We drained his powers to purification!" Li'ella stated. "Now let's go! Laval needs us!" She ordered as Eris and Razar flew in and the others appeared at the doorway. Nodding at each other, they headed off to aid Laval.
When they reached the top, Laval was still clashing with the dragon emperor. "We gotta help him!" Cragger exclaimed as the heroes charged but Dragemperor seeing this, activated a switch and the machine began to first form a dark energy shield above himself and Laval and then, it started to emit dark energy into the sky and slow and steady, darkness began to consume since the countdown went down further to 1 hour. "Now, this land shall feel..."
"our..."
"DARKNESS! AHAHAHAHAHA!"
"NO!" Laval knew he has to do it quick so he took out the purification bomb but Dragemperor seeing this. "Not gonna happen!" He knocked it off and unleashed more darkness. "Soon, you'll never ever see light again! Night Shroud Void!" He then covered the area in total darkness. The other heroes watched as the darkness covered the 2 of them only. "Oh no! What will happen to Laval?" Eris exclaimed in worry.
Inside the darkness...
Laval could not see anything. Then, he had an idea. Drawing his weapon, it emitted a light source enabling him to see in the darkness. "Welcome to the dark void." a voice boomed. "Where are you Dragemperor? Show yourself!"
"With pleasure but unfortunately, the darkness here shields me and the void has become my playing and killing field. No one has ever left the void alive and you will join them. Still, you don't have to feel bad that you're stuck inside. Many great fighters have died and as for you, I will grant you a quick death. Goodbye. Lion Prince." Soon enough, dark slashes appeared and attacked Laval. He blocked most of them but a few ripped through him. "Not bad. Let's see if you can handle this!" Shots were fired but Laval deflected most of them but got hit a few times. "Good, now I shall end this at once!" Suddenly, in the shadows, the dragon emperor attacked and Laval struck back as they duel. "In this battle, I have the upper hand!"
"Not if I brighten up!" Laval unleashed light but the darkness was so great he can't repel it. "Didn't I tell you?" mocked Dragemperor as he unleashed his powers.
Outside...
"So what should we do?" Cragger asked the whole group as they looked out to see the battle raging on. Then, Eris got a transmission. "What's the status?" Pegastar contacted. "Well..."
"Never mind. We need your assistance to take out the battlecruisers including the flagship, Dark Tartarus."
"Okay, we're on our way!" The whole group activated wings of the angel and flew to battle.
Inside the flagship, "Concentrate all fire on the Galaxy Nova!" Dragonis ordered. From there, "Concentrate all fire on the Dark Tartarus!" Pegastar ordered. Both flagships fired their superweapons on each other and it's a critical hit! Both ships sustained heavy damage and are now an emergency repair. However, at the Dark Tartarus, "Uh, general, there are flying enemiesheading towards us." a dragon reported. "FLYING?!" Dragonis was stunned when the heroes broke in. "Tell your dragon emperor that he needs to get a new ride and it'll cost a lot of money, materials and time. We apologize for this." Li'ella then fired light energy blasts on the control systems, computers and engine drives, boosters and arrays and because of this, "How dare you defile his lordship's ride! Get them!" Lots of dragons flew out to attack the heroes while Dragonis got worse news. "Not good! Battlecruisers, Terror Dark and Ghoul Reaper are brought down!"
"All engines and systems are in critical conditions! Malfunctioning really hard!'
"weapon systems damaged! Unable to return fire!"
All these reports drove Dragonis insane. "Blast! Evacuate at once! Use the flagship's self-destruct as one last attempt to wipe out our enemies in one go! NOW!" The order is given and the battle damaged flagship is setting course to the battlefield. Below, Lavertus and Sir Fangar are joined by the crawlers and Lagravis and Crominus along witht he others. "Sounds like they're gonna blow us from the sky!" Scorm noticed. "Then I say we blow it in the middle of the sky!" Lavertus suggested. So they focused their photokinetic powers and combined the light into a devastating beam that ripped the flagship apart into a million pieces. "Aw come on!" Dragonis was pissed until a piece of barrel of a cannon turret crushed him defeated.
Back inside the dark void...
Laval and Dragemperor clashed and fired their powers on each other. "You may hide in the shadows but I can see through the power of light!"
"Ha! Ha! Some speech. It does not matter for I will be victorious and I will show them my 'trophy'." He then fried skull blasts and a soul bomb that Laval could not avoid. He dodged the skull blasts but the soul bomb delivered a great impact on him. "Now all I need to do is to finish you and the soon, the shadow tribes will rule Chima into eternal darkness! CHAOS BEAM!" He fired his supreme move on Laval hitting him real hard. After weakening Laval, "You're weak."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"You're weak. Admit it."
"What?"
"That's right lion prince. Say it loud and clear you are weak! If you do so, your life will be pardoned but oppose it, you and all of Chima will be annihilated into darkness eternally!" Laval was weakening and losing power due to the intense dark power. Then, "I...I...I am...I am..."
"I am what?"
"I...I am...I am...not done with yet!"
"WHAT!"
"You think you can conquer Chima with darkness? Well, I protect Chima with light! Light gives us hope but darkness gives you power and corruption! And my will to protect Chima will not be broken! My friends are counting on me! They believe in me! They know I can accomplish anything! With Light, there is hope for the future! I will defeat you today Dragemperor! I will cleanse all the darkness you covered Chima with the power of the light!" At that very moment, Laval glowed...and glowed...and glowed with so much light that..."What the? The void? It can't be? AAAHHHHH!" Dragemperor shrieked as...
"FLASH!"
A bright light appeared and all stopped fighting. "What just happened?" Worriz asked as he's still fighting Hellberus in hand-to-hand combat. "The void was broken." A wounded Unicode replied as he dragged a battle-damaged Serpentron who is currently offline since he's half serpent, half cybernetic. "This turning event is similar to how Pegastar and Dragemperor battled. He used his void attack trapping Pegastar in it. There, he stood his ground believing in hope for it was that moment, he released his full power and escaped the void defeating Dragemperor."
"And that is happening to Laval and it has a similar connection to it." said Pegastorm as back at the top, Laval glowed so brightly that the wings of an angel appeared behind his back and, "How can this be? Where did this power come from?" Dragemperor exclaimed as he covered his eyes. "This, comes from my friend who believed in me and the hope I keep inside my heart!" Laval delivered quick attacks critically damaging Dragemperor by surprise. He retaliated by using more dark moves but it was ineffective as Laval dodged faster and attacked faster than before and it was like as if, "The tables have been turned!" Cragger interrupted the writer who's writing this as Dragemperor might have been mortally wounded but, "Even if you think there is hope, there is none! Behold, 20 seconds and the land shall be mine to rule in eternal darkness!" Yup, the machine's countdown is 20 seconds as Dragemperor used what remains of his dark power and fired his chaos beam while Laval fired a light ray to intercept as both powers collided.
"Say goodnight!"
"And say good morning!"
Then, The light boosted tenfold and, "No, no, no! I am suppose to be unbeatable! Invincible! And-AAAAAHHHHHHH!" The light blasted Dragemperor knocking him off. Laval then picked and threw the purification bomb onto the machine which counted down to 5 seconds. Dragemperor drew a dark blaster and opened fired to destroy the bomb. As the countdown continues and the bomb is thrown into the machine. All eyes are on the scene.
By the time, it counts to 1 second and the bomb is near, all were nervous when, "DEET!" All gasped. "Da plan worked! Chima iz ours!" Sharking shouted. "Alright!" Hellberus exclaimed as he and Woriz continued their fight. "Victory is-s-s-s ours-s-s-s!" Serpendusa agreed. Dragemperor smiled as he stood up. "Didn't I tell you? It's hopeless! Now, all hope is lost for behold! The age of lions is over! The age of the dragon empire begins! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Just then, "LOOK!" Li'ella called out. The machine glowed from dark to light. "WHAT?"
"I knew it will happen because I asked my friends to reverse the machine's effect before our fight in the void. That means your attack was a distraction to allow the others to do the job and then, the bomb does the job!"
"No! NO! NOOOO! AAAHHHHH!" The machine glowed and emitted a powerful bright light that blasted in the sky and then, the machine began to shake. "What's happening now?"
"Oh I forgot, they also added a new schematic to add in. Well, bye bye."
"AAAHHHHH! You may have destroy and foiled my plans lion prince but be warned! One day, the shadow tribes will rise again and there will be literally no hope for you! AAARRRGGGHHH!"
"Yeah whatever." Laval taunted as the machine exploded out a bright light and all the shadow tribes screamed and shouted as the light enveloped all of Chima.
In a matter of seconds, Laval looked around and saw ashes all over the battlefield and a pile in front of him. "It's over." He said to himself quietly as his friends showed. up. "You did it Laval! You cleansed the whole entire land!" Eris called out. "Yeah! The light has shone!" Cragger agreed. "I'm so proud of you Laval!" said Li'ella. "Thanks guys. It was a tough battle but it ends well." Laval replied as Li'ella made her move by grabbing Laval and smooching him for the first time. Behind, "You're right Lagraivs, they make a good couple."
"I knew you'll say that Tormak." Then, the mythical tribe leaders appeared. "Thank you Laval. You remind me of the days I fought against the shadow tribes and when I faced Dragemperor. You have fully mastered the power of light." Pegastar praised him for this. Unicrown then added. "You've displayed courage, willpower and hope to subdue all the shadows. Hidden and revealed." Laval nodded as he raised a white chi in the air as a sign of victory and all the inhabitants from below cheered. "So now what my friends?" asked Razar. "Simple, we clean up the mess. Gather the ashes and put them all in an altar. Do not leave a single speck on the ground." Fluminox ordered. All groaned for they hate cleaning.
So around the battlefield, all piled up the ashes and stored them in the altar that Pegastorm and Pegasurge brought out. "This altar will lock the shadow tribes in it. Never will they threaten the land again and the altar will lock them permanently." Pegastar stated as Unicode showed up with the Crystal of Light. "Sill in one piece and in good condition!"
"Excellent. We can now restore our kingdom and move here!"
"Wait, you're moving here?"
"Of course! We've been living away from this land a long time and now, we'll make ourselves welcome here on Chima."
"In that case, welcome." The leaders shook hands with each other as the heroes exchanged smiles.
A week later...
It now opens to the Lion Temple fully restored after the shadow interference. Inhabitants from animal, crawler and mythical tribes are all at the markets having fun. Laval and his girlfriend which is Li'ella were strolling around the market as they could see many activities going on. Eris is selling reading materials, the ravens and vultures are bargaining, the bear and ice bears are trading, the rhinos and unicorns are working on technology together with the Rhino Legend Beast and even the spiders are using their webs for art. "Things sure had changed." Laval stated. "Yeah, I'm glad the land is restored." Li'ella agreed as she smooched him again and then, the 2 lion ended up hiding in one corner making out for some time until, "Uh, Laval what are you doing?"
"CRAGGER!"
"Oops sorry. My bad." Cragger backed away and ran into Scorm who's cleaning his speedor. "Oh hey there, how's it going?"
"All good, we re-established our homes in the Outlands and come in peace."
"Okay, see you at the race."
Speaking of the race, it cuts to the event after an hour of fun and Lagravis who's with the legend beasts and the mythical tribe leaders appeared. "Welcome, inhabitants of Chima. Before we begin, an event took place as we all know, we've been imprisoned in stone while our saviours played their parts to liberated us and the land. This event will not be forgotten thanks to our new allies who are former enemies and masters of light. Let us rejoice with hope and the will that Chima will have peace and prosperity in a new golden age!" All cheered. "And speaking of golden." Soon, Longtooth and Leodinas appeared with another 3 golden chis which amazed the whole crowd. "Let the race commence!" All cheered loudly.
At the race course, the same participants from chapter 2 appeared but now are joined by Scorm, Braptor, Sparratus on behalf of Spinlyn, Flinx, Pegastorm and Unicode. "This is gonna be awesome!' Flinx cheered. "I know right. I can't wait!" agreed Unicode. "Well, watch me win this!" Pegastorm bragged as nearby, "'May the best racer win."
"You too." Laval and Scorm shook hands as when the shot was fired, the race begins!

Finally, I've finished 10 chapters for the whole story! Now I thank all of you for enjoying the story, so far, it's the most viewed story ever in my archive and boy, I never thought it could really be a lot of views! I really took a lot of effort to do the work but it totally worked out well with the plot and characters! I have other plans but I'm not so sure if they will be out soon for I am still planning. Once again, thanks for enjoying it!
